No break for last and first names?

In a paragraph or character style, where can I tell inDesign never to break any word starting with a capital letter (either hardcoded or formatted with the All Caps button): first names, last names, cities, etc.
Otherwise I have to manually check, highlight the word and select No Break from the flyout menu hundreds of times. I can't think this is the only way to proceed?

I cannot make it work then, because in the attached image you will see a capitalized word (italicized with a character style) that "Ouverture" does break, although my paragraph style of course is set on Do not hyphenate capitalized words.

Printing address labels via Address Book - last and first names mixed up

Trying to print mailing labels from Address Book. However in my list of 50 contacts, some labels are printed with the first name then last name, and others are printed with the last name then first name. It doesn't seem to matter if I switch the order of how it appears for each contact within address book, or set the Preferences in Address Book to have the first before the last name, some labels will still be printed with the last name first.
Any suggestions???

Something which worked for me was after adjusting the order of the first and last name (either using Preferences) or manually, I saved it, and then it seemed to print fine after that. So maybe saving it first before printing was the key.

Address Book flipped last and first names and won't flip back

Has anyone encountered where after syncing Address Book with Exchange, the first and last names have been flipped and cannot be flipped back? No matter what I do in my Preferences, I can't seem to stop having the address card show the last name first and the first name last. I've tried adjusting the "Sort By" and "Display Order" in multiple configurations and just can't seem to get it back the way it was with First Name then Last Name displayed and sorted by Last Name. Even when I look at the "Template" I see the First Name first and the Last Name second but neither the card nor the list window shows it that way.
Has anyone else seen this? Were you able to restore control to how you view this?

no responses but I discovered that if I change the sort feature a few times, Address Book corrects itself. Wonderful feature.

Sent vCards to bluetooth device. Last and first names reversed

I just finished exporting my Address Book to my LG 8500 and, for some reason, every single name is "Last First". Part of me thinks it's because the LG has no support for either field and refers instead to just a "name". Is there a way to force the vCard export to combine the first and last into a single name field? That, or when it exports the vCard, it exports as a "first last"? I have tried several settings in Address Book to no avail. it seems to insist on exporting last, first.

I'm not sure why you want them changed. The Oracle database by default is case insensitive, which in essence means it converts everything to upper case when a case is not specified (which can be done by wrapping it in quotes). Unfortunately, Java strings are case sensitive. This means that if you try searching resultsets for "TableName" when the database driver is returning "TABLENAME", you will run into problems. It is probably better to have your project match your database as closely as possible to avoid any issues later on.
That said, I don't know of a way to automatically have the workbench use mixed case names - it uses the strings as they are returned from the database. I believe you will need to manually change the table names if you want them to be different than what you have imported.

How do I navigate to the last_record after a query has fetched all my records. I jnow it existed the POST-FETCH trigger, but now how can I make this possible?

6233 Search contact in last name AND first name

Hi,
the 6233 does not search Contacts in both first names AND last names. It only searches only in what come first.
Exemple : searching for "Paul" does not find "Smith Paul"
Do I need a firmware update to fix this ??

Based on my knowledge, there is no related method to enforce all users using More Columns as the default search option in Outlook Address Book. We can just change the search option for individual Outlook user by remembering the last search using as I mentioned
above.

Change the order of last name and first name

I use my iPhone in English, however I have a few Japanese contacts and I add their names with kanji (Japanese characters). In Japanese, the last name comes before the first name, and in English, obviously, the first name comes first. I have my settings with the last name first because it makes a little more sense in both languages, but I want to change the order depending on the languages without putting the last name in the first name and vice versa. Is this possible?

Not really, the name order is global so you cannot just switch it on and off. Best way is to just reverse the entry order as you have been doing.

Generating mixed case for table and column names

SSIS - pass variables to Data Manager for Appset and Application name

I'm building an SSIS package, and I can't work out how to set the Appset and Application names in the Convert Task item - I have created the item, and the variables, but I can't work out how to reference the two.
Any tips or help greatly appreciated - this is one of the worst-documented pieces of software I've ever seen!

Please refer to the other SSIS packages already created. We need not set these parameters while creating the SSIS package. When we link the SSIS to DM package, we can dynamically send the appset name and the application names.

How to search users in Outlook Using Last Name and First Name

During recent times we change the naming convention in AD, FirstName , LastName
We can search users using More Columns but I would like to know alternate method to search users. The search result should sort results by last name as query

I just repaired my sons macbook and I need to test it. Can I start it and skip the setup for internet and account names?

My son's MacBook pro needed a new hard drive. He is out of state for a month.
I want to test it to make sure it has been fixed, but I cannot get past the start screens which require
an owner name, an account name and passwords. It states the account name cannot be changed once
entered. I dont want to enter info that might not be his preferences.
Can I bypass this screen? There is no "skip"nor "continue" button.
It wont let me proceed without an entry. Can I bypass this for now to simple
run through the basic programs?

How did you install the OS and which OS version did you install?
You do need to set up an account. I never enter my address, etc, but usually (when I want to sell a machine with a new install) set up a temporary account "user" with a password of 12345 with as little info as possible (it also helps if it's not connected to the internet at that point because it won't be able to contact Apple's servers. That way you can run it and he can establish another account when is is back.

Why does text field in InfoPath 2010 show user name with two commas between first name and last?

Here's the problem. I have a text field called Manager in an InfoPath 2010 form that is getting populated by a drop down field called
Business Unit.
The Business Unit drop-down field is pulling information from
column A in a custom list via a managed data connection. The custom List has two columns:
Title & Manager.
The Manager column in the custom list is a 'Person or Group' type column.
The Data Connection pulls both the Title, Manager
(and ID) data.
There is a rule on the Business Unit drop-down field to change the value of the
Manager text field with the Manager data on the custom list. The rule pulls the
Manager information and filters the value to match the
Business Unit on the Data Connection with the Business Unit drop-down
field value (Main).
The Business Unit drop-down field works great and pulls the value from the custom list, and the rule populates the Manager text field. The problem is that Manager text field shows the name as such:
[smith,, john]. Notice the two commas between the last and first name. There should only be
one comma!
Anyone have an idea why the text field is appearing with two commas?

Hi all,
I have a workaround for this. I have an InfoPath 2010 form pulling data from a SP2010 list. The user chooses a System (Business Unit) from the dropdown list and that choice auto populates the associated user (Manager) for that system. I had to
use concatenation, substring before and substring after to display the correct data.
concat(substring-before(DisplayName, ",, "), ", ", substring-after(DisplayName, ",, "))
DisplayName is the original data for the field. I am able to cut & paste this field into the formula. Therefore, I added a few spaces to separate it from the actually formula for future use.
Select Insert Function
Select concat
Select the first link to double-click to insert field
and then select Insert Function
Select the Text category and choose substring-before
Select the third link to double-click to insert field
and then select Insert Function
Select the Text category and choose substring-after
Copy and paste your fieldname (in my case DisplayName) in the
double-click to insert field
parts of the substring-before and substring-after links.
Delete the middle double-click to insert field link
Add quotes, spaces and commas so that they match the following format:
concat(substring-before(DisplayName, ",, "), ", ", substring-after(DisplayName,
Translation:
concat(substring-before(Doe,, John, ",, "), ", ", substring-after(Doe,,
John, ",, "))
Bring together all of the text before ",," (i.e. Doe) with ", " (comma, space) and all text after ",," (i.e. John).
It should return
Doe, John.
