No browser access

I have an iMac running OS X 10.6.8; the processor is 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and the memory is 4 GB 667 MHz DR2 SDRAM.
Last night after updating Safari and Java from system prompts, I began getting an error message about "Television Fanatic Toolbar Plugin" causing an error and I cannot access Safari at all. Firefox allows me minimal browser access but not much. I can get here, but not much else. I have run the Disk Utility to repair disk permissions, but still get the error message. If I delete the Television Fanatic Toolbar plugin entirely, will I lose my toolbar? Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

I never update anything that doesn't come from Apple (you know, the bouncing message that says there are updates for my system). Since I'm deaf, I don't use iTunes, Garage band, that sort of thing so I just selected the two for Safari and Java. And there WAS one for Safari. Whether that's what did it or not, I don't know. I deleted the root plug-in listings from the library (two locations, as I recall) and after some minor hiccups, it seems to be working ok now. Thanks. : ) I found the information myself on another old post that said Television Fanatic had corrupted their Mac, but I appreciate the help.

TB stopped receiving emails after one with huge attachment. Updated TB. Can send but not receive. Using Yahoo POP server. Browser access works fine.

Several days ago, after receiving a 7MB attachment, I stopped receiving email on my Yahoo POP account. Browser access to the Yahoo server works fine. I obviously deleted that message and attachment but curiously, it and only it continued to be downloaded to my inbox!!! I tried downloading a new TB and installing it. Nothing changed except that specific email no longer appeared (another did though, see later). Settings are to leave msgs on server until I delete them. I transferred all my inbox to a local folder and then compacted mail and tried testing reception from another source and nothing appeared on TB, just on browser access. Oddly, one very old message repeatedly appears, I assume as a result of the auto check for new mail but not sure. Though I try to delete this old message, I can't. I haven't removed and recreated account yet because I don't want to lose all the filter history. Scanned for solution and can't find any. Any ideas, please?

Starting your mac in safe mode will disable the Symantec stuff long enough to download mail. Should the issue arise again

Is it possible to edit the .ini of an executable and be able to add the desired ip addresses for browser access?

Hi, I created an executable and would like to add browser access ip addresses. Can this be done by editing the corresponding .ini file
if so how should I add a new line or can I modified an existing one (key).

These lines, for example, enable access for everyone:
server.tcp.enabled=TRUE
server.tcp.access=+*
Other lines can set things like the port number, but I don't have them at the moment because I use the default. If you search the LAVA wiki, you should find an article about INI settings you can use.
As I said, if you compile the executable and use the original LabVIEW menu structure (VI Properties>>Window Appearance>>Customize>>Show Menu Bar), you will have the option of going into the Options screen of the application. In there, you will be able to set this. You can then compile the application again without the menus visible.

Can Prime Infrastructure 2.0 enable port 8080 for Browser access?

By the offical document, port 8080 is pre-defintied for the Browser access but it is disabled by default.
I am finding a way to enable the port, but I cannot find any guide on cisco site.
Did anyone know how to enable the 8080 port?

Configuring Server Settings
The Server Settings page allows you to enable or disable the TFTP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, or Compliance Service. To turn the server settings on or off:
Step 1 Choose Administration > System Settings.
Step 2 From the left sidebar menu, choose Server Setting.
Step 3 If you want to modify the FTP and TFTP directories or the HTTP and HTTPS ports that were established during installation, enter the port number (or port number and root where required) that you want to modify and click Enable or Disable.
The changes are reflected after a restart.
I am not sure but try to change the port number 8080 in HTTP Forward option and save it, then restart it.
I think it will work.

Experience with UnitedPlanet and SAP B1 browser access?

Hi all, I have seen that UnitedPlanet has a very promising and nice looking Web interface to SAP B1. Has anyone used it? Do you know if it allows browser access to all the functionality of SAP B1 that you would get via the normal client. Or only just a subset? Can it be customized?

Even though I have not used UnitedPlanet before, it is not difficult to know what it can provide through their interact Demo. It is clear that UnitedPlanet could only allow browser access to some but not all the functionality of SAP B1 that you would get via the normal client. Only the menu item under their demo would be available. It should be customizable because it use DI API and Web interface.

Sap Content server Direct Browser Access - docGet

We use SAP Content Server for DMS doc storage. Docs are stored without digital signing.
I am looking to access dms original files directly via web browser using the "docGet" command.
My url looks as shown:

When I call the url, browser does not seem to be able to read the file type of the server response. An "open/save" dialog appears and when "open" is selected a subsequent dialog appears asking which application to use to open the file. Once the correct application is chosen, the document is displayed correctly.
Is there some way to instruct the browser the content-type is application/pdf?
Will CSAdmin parameter changes have any impact?
The browser is Internet Explorer 6.
Any help is appreciated.

But mySAP PLM DMS is not a focus topic here (besides maybe connecting it into the SAP Portal and KM). Thus, you may be better off using a contact or a message to PLM.

WRT54G3G-AT Blocks only browser access to the Internet.

We have a WRTG54G3G router with Sierra Wireless AC881 card. Latest firmware, version 2.02.2. Good, steady AT&T signal. Works consistently when the Sierra card is directly in one of the three laptops we use. But, when using the router, many times one or more (but so far never all) of the laptops will lose browser connectivity. A change between IE or Mozilla gives the same result. Strangest part is that we can access http://192.168.1.1 but not the Internet beyond. If the problem crops up, we can put the laptop on a wired connection and often get through ---BUT -- after a while, the wired connection will stop as well. No amount of rebooting of any or all components helps. When a laptop is "locked out", it still has network connectivity. For example, I can ping www.yahoo.com and get packets back. Also, NSlookup resolves www.yahoo.com. It appears as if port 80 becomes blocked. The next day, a laptop that failed the night before will usually work fine. I have reviewed every setting in the router. There are no special rules or anything odd in the way we intend to use this router.

I have considered restoring factory defaults and starting over with the configuration. I think that's what you are suggesting? If so, instinct tells me not to restore from the image I have saved to disk. Instead, don't you think the best path is to hand configure it from notes? On the other hand, I don't agree with the "losing signal" theory as other laptops can still access whilst the one is not able to function. Additionally, a laptop that is locked out from the router can function just fine if I move the AirCard from the router to the laptop that has been locked out. Of course, that precludes the other workers from functioning... Thank you for the input, I'll give it a try. Allen

PowerMac 7300 Problems: Browser, Accessing Hotmail, Freezing

We have an ancient PowerMac 7300, with a G3 500Mhz upgrade. I know that some people will tell us to simply get a new(er) computer, but that is not an option right now.
We are having problems accessing many websites, including Hotmail, which we use a lot. We keep getting messages telling us that our web-browsers need to be upgraded. We use mostly Internet Explorer and Netscape.
Are there any other browsers that might run better, and allow us access to more websites with fewer problems? I'm running System 9.1, with 200MB RAM. There are two internal HDs, the main one we use, with System 9.1, is a 40GB, the other HD is a 6GB, with System 8.6.
This old beast still runs great, other than freezing frequently, especially when we try to access the Internet. Thanks for any suggestions.

I've also used the final version of Internet Explorer (5.1.7) for pre-OS X Macs, but it was last updated in 2002 - which makes it incompatible with some web sites. Additionally, Microsoft dropped support for it and pulled the download links from their web site. The first thing that you need to do is allocate more memory to it, because the default "Preferred" memory setting is ridiculously low. You should set it to at least 20-25 MBs as a comfortable amount, since you have enough System memory to be generous. With the program not running, click on its icon to highlight it and select "Get Info - Memory" from the File drop-down menu. Adjust the "Preferred" setting to an amount between 20480K and 25600K. This should prevent freezes and permit the program to run more smoothly, but it won't change the fact that it's an old browser with expired security certificates. Netscape Communicator is known to be a bloated alternative to IE. Others Forum regulars have posted their evaluations of the other browsing options available to pre-OS X users, but those programs are also succumbing to age and a lack of ongoing development.

CAF Services Browser Access

File Browser Access denied Nokia 6280

i made a small file browser programand assigned it necessary permissions such as
javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.read
javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.write
now when i run that program on nokia 6280 and try to access any file i get error ACCESS DENIED. what other permission do i have to get....

Pix 501 PDM 30 - can't get web browser access

I just got two used Pix 501 units, and cannot get the web browser working. OK to first login box with blank username and password per manual, click Yes to certificate popup, "Loading Startup Wizard" prompts for username and password - blank is NOT accpeted here.
Get java.security.AccessControlException: access denied in lower border of browser window.
How do I get past this?

XP Client browser access to mySAP 2005 apps

This is our first implementation of Mysap EPR 2005. We would like to access SAP using strictly the I.E. 6.0 browser, and have no client-side software installs necessary to avoid the client-side maintenance problems(or use any older technology like an ITS server in R/3). Can this be accomplished?
If so, is there software required on the SAP application server other than a web-server, and what are the bandwidth requirements per user??
And if not, what is required on the client for the 2005 platform ??

WRT54G: Browser access interface corruption?

WRT54G V.5: Completed firmware upgrade to v1.02 successfully...but...now when accessing administration interface through browser the interface seems corrupted. There are no Tabs, etc. only some random block graphics, a few populated data fields and so forth. Any idea on how to correct the corruption or the web page read error?

Did you enable JavaScript (not Java)?
Yes, I enabled Javascript in both browsers on both pcs.
In IE enable the scripterror display in the advanced internet options. For Firefox check the javascript error console for errors.
Since when did you have the problem? Did you try a firmware reflash to fix it?
I have not had any reason to try to access the configuration utility for a few months as everything was working fine but all of a sudden, my win98 machine lost internet. I've tried everything within windows to get the internet to work with no luck. I thought I would check the settings in the router to make sure all is well there, but, like I said, I can't use it because of the web display corruption.

Yes, I have done a reset and have even set the router back to factory defaults via the button on the back and am in the process of setting the router back up. Still have the same problem if I try the web based config though.
I have another problem now, since I reset the router back to factory defaults, I am running the setup wizard from the disk, but it keeps asking me for a password. As I have reset the router, I assume the password is admin but that doesn't work, just hitting enter doesn't work and my old password that I had changed it too previously doesn't work.

liking my new e61 alot - but, a niggle? The browser seems to demand an Access Point, and completely ignores the concept of Access Groups, which can't be true, can it?

No browser access: Couldn't resolve host name Error

Please help - Yesterday everything worked, today no connectivity. New place but playbook says I'm connected to the WiFi and to the Internet. I can't use the browser to get to the internet. I've deleted the Bridge connection (it didn't work either). Turned off bluetooth and still NOTHING. Tried to turn device on and off. Ready to heave the playbook out the window.

Are you connecting to the same wireless hotspot? Is it a home Wi-Fi router? If so, try unplugging your router and plugging it back in. If its not a home router, it may be a security configuration implemented on the router your are trying to connect to.
