No burners detected

I recently had to replace the CD/DVD drive in the computer. Since then, Premier Elements 10 shows "No burners detected" when I try to create a DVD. Clicking "Rescan" does not help. I can create a VIDEO_TS folder and use other sodtware to dreate a DVD, but cannot do so directly from PE-10.
How to fix?

l3bpilot
I am not sure what you found. Typically the installation file is the one named Setup.exe.
If you purchased Premiere Elements 10 from Adobe as a purchased download, you should be able to get another download by going to http://www.adobe.com, Signing in with your Adobe ID and password, going to Welcome l3bpilot, and then My Orders and/or My Products.
Do not uninstall anything until you are sure that you have the right installation files.
A popular way to do this is to go to the following web site and download the Premiere Elements 10 tryout from there. Once you have it downloaded, install it using your purchased serial number. The important part of all this is that you read the Note: Very Important Instructions section before you attempt to click on the link for the downloads at that web site. Otherwise you will get hit by Access Denied.
http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-10-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
That web site has some sort of arrangement with Adobe to make those old downloads available. That web site does not sell the download/tryouts.
Please let us know if that works for you. We can talk about getting additional program downloads from Adobe and your Order in the morning if necessary.
Thanks.

  • Premiere Elements 11 - No Burners Detected

    Hi All,
When I try and burn a project to DVD I get the error showing on screen 'No Burners detected' - if i choose AVCHD the burner shows up.
    I am running windows 7 64bit.
Any ideas how to fix this issue.
    Sean

While you are figuring out if Hunt's article will help, you may create your DVD a different way
Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no DVD player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help
Use Taiyo Yuden single layer or Verbatim Two layer Or Falcon Pro for inkjet printable Two layer

  • PE12 - No Burners Detected

    HI,
ok so I've got over my other issues and was ready to burn my project to DVD...
Unfortunately, the dialogue window comes up with a "No Burners Detected" message and there is no drive for me to select.
Like many other topics I have read, I can see the drive if I select AVCHD but that is no use to me.
I have gotten around the issue by writing the DVD folders to a folder and then burning to DVD using IMgBrun but this really is a cop out... I've spent good money on PE12 and expect to be able to use it to do the basics!
I've not got Roxio or EasyCD installed so have covered off the discussions that mention that.
    Any clues?
    Distraught - Daran.

I would consider "Burn a Disc" dialog pop up normal when you insert a blank disc and the drive is not set for AutoPlay.
    versus
And, check out Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/AutoPlay and place for your settings
More later as I think about the external DVD drive no working either.
    Thanks for the updates.

  • PE8 Can't Burn a DVD - "No burners detected" on Share Menu

I cannot burn my video to DVD because PE8 is not detecting either of my two DVD burners.
On the Share tab, Start a new share: Disc, the menu opens and on the Status line it has the yellow caution ! triangle and states "No burners detected."
I have a Dell Studio XPS8100 and W7 64 bit. The DVD RW drive works properly with other burning software. Thoughts?

Thanks, Bill. I appreciate the response but unfortunately it did
not correct the problem. I uninstalled Roxio, but Windows 7 seems to have a built-
in burn-to-disk feature that I cannot disable. Any other thoughts?
    Thanks,

  • No burner detected.

Where is Premiere Elements 8 forum?
Since using other software, when I try to burn a DVD I get an error "no burners detected".
I saw very complicated instructions for fixing this in earlier versions such as Premiere 3.  Is this still a known bug?

Welcome to the forum - though the PrElements forum is HERE.
On your way over there, you might want to see this ARTICLE. When PrE (or Encore) cannot find a burner, it is almost always some other software conflicting.
    Good luck,

  • BluRay burners.

I have been 'playing around', I like to call it educating myself, for the past 12mnths. with an expensive HD Vid Cam, an expensive computer and now I am itching to record a BluRay disc of my rendered video. I have purchased an expensive 'burner', in fact 2. I took the first one back because when I enter Share/Disc/BluRay, I get message in Status, 'No burners detected'. The Man at the shop thought I was 'avin a largh, but recomended I buy a dearer model, "because that's a real one" he says. After carefull installation, because by now, I thought I am doing somthing wrong here, I got the same message, but it only cost me $25 more. I have to say, using the same burner installed, when I enter Share/Disc/DVD or Share/Disc/ACHVD, the other 2 options, with the same file, I get an immidiate response from Status saying, Burner Location is D: Atapi--etc. This says to me, All is not lost, the burners are genuine but begs the question: Do I have to author them in PE10 some how.
    robo_col

I am with Steve, and would check the installation and the burner's driver first.
If you have a Windows computer, then start at Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager, and look down the list, until you come to CD/DVD/BD drives (exact syntax can differ by OS version). Check the driver there, and also any warning, or error messages.
If everything checks out there, I would then see this article: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3127429#3127429 for some of the most common casuses of "PrE can't detect a burner" errors.
One additional thing to consider is the BD burner's firmware. What is the make and model of the drive? Does the mfgr. have newer firmware available for it? If so, be very certain to read the installation instructions very well. As they can change model to model and mfgr to mfgr, I print out those instructions, to check off each step, in the order listed, when flashing new firmware. That is very important.
    Good luck,

Please excuse if I go over some things that you aleady know, but again I do not want to take anything for granted that would prevent us from moving forward on your project.
    When you wrote
When I go to Blu-Ray on the Status it says No Burners detected, and with AVCHD it says Busy.
    1. Does your burn dialog have a field named burner location:? If so, does your Blu-ray burner show up as a choice in its drop down list?
    2. And, with that "...with AVCHD it says Busy", have you selected Publish+Share/Disc/AVCHD disc and inserted a Blu-ray disc instead of a DVD disc, when you get the Busy message? The choice of Blu-ray is a Blu-ray disc; the choice for AVCHD is only a DVD disc. So, please clarify that point.
    3. Have you tried Publish+Share/Disc/AVCHD disc with a DVD double layer single sided disc?
    4. As a note..the maximum bitrate for burn to DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc 4.7 GB/120 minutes and 8.5 GB/240 minutes is the same, that is 8.00 Mbps. Whereas, the maximum bitrate is much higher for the AVCHD burn to DVD disc and the Blu-ray burn to Blu-ray disc (about 15.74 to 15.50 Mbps for AVCHD DVD, and about 20.19 to 24.0 Mbps for Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc. More details on the exact values if needed.
What is the bitrate of the AVCHD file that you have imported to the Timeline? See if you agree...if the source has a higher bitrate than the export bitrate, would not you expect smaller file size for the export? And if the source has a lower bitrate than the export bitrate, would not you expect a larger file size for export?
Do some mini tests runs to prove or disprove that. Look at the Space Required and Bitrate reading in the burn dialog when you have a given disc in the burner tray.
    Please review.
    Thanks.

  • Problem with burning a VCD and a DVD in Photoshop Elements 7

For some reason I can no longer burn a DVD or a VCD thru elements.  When trying to burn a VCD on the Burn Screen Popup Screen under Select Destination Drive is blank and where you would select Drive speed nothing is in the drop down menu.
on creating a DVD  when it comes up to burn disk under status no burners detected shows up.
I have created DVD's and VCDs before dont know why I'm having problem now.
I'm using Vista.  In the past when using XP I believe I had to deselect DLA option on Drive where I burn but this option is not available to select.
I have no problem burning DVD or VCDs via windows.

    Walter,
As Paul_LS states, the movies need to be combined in PE (or another editing program) due to the DVD-specs. They allow only one movie (in your case the combined Projects) per DVD disc. There are a few programs that can "hack" the DVD structure, but they are a lot of work, and usually do not yield the results that the user is seeking. This is not a limitation of PE.
You can also place your DVD Markers to the start of each of these movies, to all navigation in the DVD to each, should you wish.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Premiere Elements does not recognize my blu ray burner LG WH10LS30

I am not able to burn to my LG Bluray Burner (model WH10LS30).
I am able to burn to another standard DVD drive, but I am trying to burn a HD Bluray now.
My drive does have the latest firmware as of 12/2013 and works fine in my Win7 64bit environment

    Thanks for the follow up.
    1. Did you overcome the Shared Technologies error on reinstall? That is a troublesome issue that is independant of Premiere Elements version and computer operating systems. There are many suggested remedies. The one that has been working for me lately is renaming the OOBE Folder to OLDOOBE before reinstall.
    Local Disk C
    Program Files (x86)
    Common Files
    Adobe
and in the Adobe Folder is the OOBE Folder that you rename if this Shared Technologies error is blocking an install or reinstall.
    As for
The setup has detected that ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe dynamiclinkmanager (dynamiclinkmanager.exe)
Opening to Task Manager/Processes, finding those .exe files, and doing an End Process typically takes care of those problems.
Since you have reinstalled the program, you must have succeeded in the above. Great job.
Have you done an inspection, seeking pile ups of preview files, conformed audio, and conformed video files? Is the computer defragmented? These days the defragmentation is done automatically, but worth checking.
You indicated that the video card driver is up to date. Was the latest update done after Premiere Elements 11 was working well? If so, you could look at roll back of the video card driver version. If it does not improve the situation, you could always revert to the one that you know to be current.
A remote possibility that an antivirus update might be involved in the recent events. Have you looked at your present situation with and without the antivirus enabled?

  • Premiere Pro 2.0 Compatible with Windows 7?

Can anyone tell me if Premiere Pro 2.0 for Windows is compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium?

    Hi.
I know this question was answered but I have an additional one.
I'm also running Premiere Pro 2.0 on a Windows 7 64 bit machine. All works fine except exporting to DVD. I get the following error: "No DVD burners
detected". I also, get this in Encore. My DVD works fine in everything else. The Adobe tech guys think it's the 64 bit thing and say all I can do is buy the upgrade ($299).
Is there a way to run this in compatibility mode? I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. (came loaded on the computer).
I hate to spend additional money if there is a work around or a fix for this issue.
If you would like to email me directly, you can send it to [email protected]
    Thanks for the help.

  • Share to DVD troubleshooting (on Premiere Elements 4)...

After editing my project - photos+videoclips - I have tried to share it to a DVD but I couldn't because status info keeps saying "no burners detected"! How can I overtake this problem?

There has been quite a few posts recently about DVD burners not being detected by PRE - myself included (v7). Uninstalling and reinstalling invariably fixes it for a while but I can't be bothered to do this because (in my case) it's a recurring problem.
I use the 8.5GB burn to folder option and then Nero or Imgburn to burn the disk (Windows and all other burning applications see the burners just fine). If I want to fit a longish DVD to a 4.7GB disk I still burn to 8.5GB and then use DVD Shrink to shrink the image.

  • How to make a 2 hour long dvd? With highest quality? PE12

I made a two hour long event which I plan on burning into a dvd with the highest quality. It's avchd files. I want to burn it in h.264 1920x1080i pal dolby. I then tried to export the file onto my computer but it showed the file size to be 36,000 which is about 35 gb. I need to know if I export it directly to a dvd, will the size be smaller or the same. If it will be a large 35 gb then I guess I'll need a bigger dvd gb size which all I can find is blu-ray single layers, but I only find 25gb, also do this recordable disks be allowed to play in any dvd player or just blu-ray? Any good cites to buy them cheap? Here are the pictures, first one is where it shows I want to export it to my computer, and the second is to dvd, (DVD is not put in.)

In my Adobe Elements 12 for some reason when I go to burn, it saying no burners detected. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how can it be fixed. Thank you so much in advance.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Have you updated from 12 to 12.1 using an opened project's Help Menu/Update? Please do so.
Assuming a Windows compute for now.
Is this "no burner found" situation described as "it never worked before" or "it worked before but not now"?
If it has worked before, then I would ask
    1. Do you have iTunes on your computer? Have you recently updated it?
If so, you might consider uninstalling both Premiere Elements 12 and iTunes, and then reinstalling only Premiere Elements 12. I would go through the scenario
    1. Uninstall Premiere Elements 12 and iTunes via Control Panel
    2. Do a ccleaner run through (regular and registry parts)
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
    3. Reinstall of Premiere Elements 12 only.
We will be watching for your results.
    Thank you.

  • Cdrom detected on and off?

I have a 5 month-old KT3 Ultra2 and it is so weird!  I took my burners and cdrom out of my old system (where they were both working flawlessly) and put them into this one.  Well, from day one the cdrom refused to work (the activity light on the drive just turns on and stays on forever), but the burner was ok.  Now the burner stoped working too.  Sometimes when I reboot, the BIOS detects the burner, other times it doesn't.  Sometimes when it detects it and windows boots up and I put in a CD the computer locks up.
This is so bizzare!  I have tried two other cables and updating the BIOS.  Just want to make sure that it's the mobo that has gone crazy and not me...?
    Thanks!

Try them one at a time.
Are they properly jumpered in case you rearanged the way they are hooked up on the IDE channels ?
