No button/icon to access google calendar in Firefox 31

Preface: My MacBook Pro with OS 10.9.4 crashed. Data was saved. Hard drive was wiped. Applications were reinstalled.
Ever since I downloaded Firefox 31.0, I have been unable to find a button or icon to access my Google calendar. Nor can I find a "gear" to locate my settings. Although I have been using Gmail and the calendar exclusively for about five years, I'm feeling like a newbie. No Google searches for answers have provided any help. Can you?

I attached a screenshot, but if that icon is not showing properly I would recommend Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles and then trying a Firefox Reset.
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.
*Open websites will not be saved in Firefox versions lower than 25.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
For Firefox 29.0 and above:
#Click the menu button , click help and select Troubleshooting Information. Now, a new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
#At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Reset Firefox". Click on it.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off".

IE can access my Google calendar, but Firefox can't. Any ideas?

How far do you get trying to log in?
1. Will it not let you enter your username and password?
2. Does it reject your known-valid username and password?
2.1 Did you notice that it tends to uppercase the first letter of the username (possibly causing a mismatch)?
2.2 Do you get the generic red "Please enter a correct username and/or password." message or something more specific?
3. Does it accept them and take you somewhere useless or broken?

Suddenly today I am unable to view my Google Calendar via Firefox. But I can view it with Internet Explorer. What gives?

I have tried deleting all cookies and cache several times, but nothing works. I can open Google calendar but when I click on any entry I just get a blank box. If I try to make a new event entry nothing happens. Everything works fine in Internet Explorer.
I am really getting tired of constant problems with Firefox. Every week I have something that doesn't work. One time it's downloading videos, the next week music or email, now Google calendar. I am about ready to give up Firefox forever.

• Can't access google calendar with parental controls on

We are trying to give our daughter accesss to the family's Google calendar. In the parental controls we have "try to limit adult websites" as the selection. With this on, she is not able to log into the calendar - it gives a message that says something about not being able to establish a secure connection. She can go on the Google homepage without problem and search, etc. - but she can't access the Google sign-in or the calendar.
When we change the parental controls setting to "allow all websites" she can log onto the calendar without any problem.
We also tried adding the various google web address strings under the "customize" tab for "always allow these sites" while still leaving the "try to limit adult websites" as the overall setting. Even with the specific sites approved - she still can't access the calendar.
What's up?? Isn't there a way we can allow her to see the calendar without having to give her unecessary exposure to anything on the net?

So after I made my original post above I continued searching the forums and found the answer below. It refers to Googla Mail but their solution worked just as well for Google Calendar. Who knew it would be so simple. I just went into "always allow these sites" and put in the 1e100.net and it worked like a champ! The adult sites are still screened out but she can now access Google without any issue.

Finally!!!!! This solution works! Yea! There are two scenarios I know of: 1. If you have users for whom under "Parental Controls/Content" you've chosen "Allow access only to these websites" (they can only get to the websites that are bookmarked by you) and if Google Mail was already a bookmark, then just do this: click the plus sign below the list in "Parental Controls/Content/Allow access only to these websites", and choose "Add Bookmark." On the pop-up, name the site "goog" or anything you want; then type in: 1e100.net in the box asking for an address. This will produce a new bookmark (named "goog" or whatever you've chosen), but will in effect just be a dummy or slave bookmark that you'll never use, but it'll allow you to get to your user's google mail sign in page by hitting the old google mail bookmark he or she used to hit. Second scenario (I have both scenarios in my home): if you have users for whom under "Parental Controls/Content" you've chosen "Try to Limit Access to Adult Websites Automatically", click the "Customize" button and then on the top of the pop-up, under "Always Allow These Websites," click the plus button and then add: 1e100.net . Then click OK. This user will now be able to get to his or her google mail sign in page.

• Suddenly I cannot go to my Google calendar in Firefox. I can get there using Explorer. What's the problem?

I have liked Firefox much better than Windows Explorer for the past three years. In the past two weeks, I cannot open Google calendar. I get this msg. "The page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. * This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."
I didn't change anything with my cookies & I can get Google calendar if I use Windows explorer.
What's going on?

Hello.
Try clearing your cookies:
https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Deleting+cookies
If that doesn't work, try clearing your cache:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+clear+the+cache
Hopefully that will do the trick.

• I cannot open google calendar with firefox, it is continuously saying cannot load page (I checked cookies, and they are enabled).

Every time I click on Google Calendar, it opens a new window but says it is having a problem loading the page. I checked the cookies to make sure they are enabled because apparently that is a common problem. I downloaded the newest version of Firefox available, but that also did not help. I would like to not have to use Internet Explorer just to look at my calendar :-)

This can happen if the Google cookie is malformed, delete the Google cookies and for good measure also clear the cache. For details on how to do that see deleting cookies and how to clear the cache.

• Cannot access my google calendar since recent upgrade

I operate an iMac. OS 10.6.8. I have used FIREFOX successfully for years. I have placed my google calendar in Firefox--perfect performance even to my Palm Pre Plus. I upgraded FIREFOX to version 6.0.2. TROUBLE! I cannot access my calendar since the upgrade. If I select the icon for FIREFOX, what I see on my screen is:/Screen shot 2011-09-09 at 9.18.03 PM.png--or, LOADING, For slow connections, load read-only view. When I select that, a long delay and I can only view the current month, nor the last month nor the next month nor the WEEKLY view, which is my favorite.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item:

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

• ICal/Google Calendar no longer sync since April 23 2011

In the last week of April iCal/Google calendar sync has quit working. When trying to sync the iCal and the Google. The message I get is that "iCal found the CalDAV server 'www.google.com', but couldn't log in with the user name "XXXXXX". Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then try again. I originally noticed the bouncing iCal icon about April 23-24 and at the time it said that the account [email protected] could not update. I re-entered the information for the account and it still ddid not update. I deleted the account on iCal hoping that a re-enter of all the information would get things up and running and it has not.
I have looked over the available responses to similar problems and none of them have made any difference.
Please always include:
Mac OS X 10.6.7
Program and version you use to access Google Calendar (e.g. Internet Explorer 7 or Outlook 2003): Safari 5.0.5 (6533.21.1) and Google Chrome 11.0.696.57 and iCal Version 4.0.4 (1395.7)
I also cannot set up the account on the iPad (I was hoping to do so as a work around). Interestingly enough, my wife who subscribes to my Google Calendar as a delegate still gets the updates and things are working for her on her iMac using iCal.

There is a big discussion on this topic on the google calendar forum: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Calendar/thread?tid=7f08411ae09ca8da&hl=en
As I wrote there:
I'm suffering the same, but I have some more information about it. I have multiple delegates, so I have had the "good fortune" to be able to have some of them go bad and still have others to experiment with.
The ones that have gone bad are those where I made a change in iCal and then tried to refresh.
When I made changes on my google calendars I was still able to refresh in iCal and have the change show up. But as soon as I made a change in iCal, the refresh gave that error message.
Also, I just downloaded the newest OS (OS 5) for my iPod touch (gen. 3). That was yesterday afternoon.. and yesterday evening is when I first noticed this problem. I can't imagine it's simply coincidence.
I just discovered one more thing. Even the calendars that don't work both ways continue to work one way; changes made on Google Calendar continue to show up in iCal, even though the error message shows up that it can't contact the server or has the wrong address. It's almost like the relationship has turned into "subscriptions" rather than "delegates".
I have restarted my iMac and repaired permissions with no success.

• Can't load Google Calendar in existing session tab - constantly loading/reloading/re-directing

Please always include:
Operating system (e.g. WinXP): Win XP Pro
Program and version you use to access Google Calendar (e.g. Internet Explorer 7 or Outlook 2003): Firefox (just updated this morning to 3.6.7 and it still isn't working)
Any Sync software you're using or have used (e.g. Google Calendar Sync): Not using
If you're using the non-Apps version of Google Calendar (accessing from google.com/calendar/render) or you're on Google Apps: non - Apps version
If you have any Labs (and which ones) or Offline enabled: I do have both labs (Skip to date, next available reschedule, Year view theme, probably others I don't remember), and Offline enabled
I think it has to do with both google and firefox. I have Google Calendar open in one of my many tabs that open during a session (when I load my last session) as well as other google products. This seems to have been only happening in the past few weeks (or last couple of firefox updates not sure if it is related)
The google calendar tab just stays on a white screen for me and loads and then reloads and then reloads. When I had the accessibility option selected in firefox to warn me when I site tries to redirect. I was able to click allow and it would load. That was annoying on other sites including opening links so I turned that off. I tried turning that back on and that doesn't seem to have helped so I turned it back off again.
I thought it might be helpful to show the web link as well. It looks like I am actually accessing the non-apps version
https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=cl&passive=1209600&continue=http://www.google.com/calendar/render?tab%3Dmc&followup=http://www.google.com/calendar
At the bottom it says waiting for google.com, then switches very quickly between that and stopped, transferring in no discernible pattern.
I also tried another users suggestion and logged in to igoogle and then signed out there. That allowed me to see the login page on the calendar tab but it won't let me sign in because it is reloading/redirecting too quickly for me to get my password in.
The only way I have found it to close the existing tab that opens with the session and open it in a new tab from another google product as if I was just opening it for the first time. Then I don't have any problems. I updated my firefox today to 3.6.7 hoping that would fix the bug but it didn't so I am posting here. All of these solutions have been work around solutions and I hope that google and/or firefox can fix the issue soon.
It should be noted as well that the goggle calendar widget on the igoogle page is also having issues loading saying the following (below in italics).
"This Connection is Untrusted - You have asked Firefox to connect securely to 11.ig.gmodules.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure. Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
Technical Details
11.ig.gmodules.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.googleusercontent.com , googleusercontent.com , *.commondatastorage.googleapis.com , commondatastorage.googleapis.com , atgglstorage.com , *.atgglstorage.com , *.s.atgglstorage.com
(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)
I Understand the Risks
If you understand what's going on, you can tell Firefox to start trusting this site's identification. Even if you trust the site, this error could mean that someone is tampering with your connection. Don't add an exception unless
you know there's a good reason why this site doesn't use trusted identification.
