No calender at my .mac account .....

I have a new .mac account and my mail, bookmarks etc works fine but when I click the calender I only get a "getting started" page and I can't get to my calender. I can publish my calender, but shouldn't I have acces to my calender at my .mac home page??

OK. Now I see. First, that isn't "your" home page. That .Mac's home page. When you click on the "17" that's bringing you to a page that is a sort of tutorial for "Getting Started" with iCal.
Your confusion should be a lesson for Apple as now I understand and Apple ought to consider what your saying. There is no link to your calendars on that webpage.
Here is why you are (reasonably) confused:
When you "sync via .Mac prefs, as you know you have lots of choices. But, all things you "sync" aren't visible via a browser. Apple doesn't explain this very well so why wouldn't you assume "sync" means you'll be able to see everything, if you can when you sync Address Book and Mail? Actually, Bookmarks, parts of the Address Book contacts, and parts of Mail is all that you can see on .Mac. Calendars and Keychains aren't visible via sync.
Syncing calendars only makes them available to sync with a second computer or user.
If you want to "see" calendars on the web, you have to publish them.

Two people two.mac accounts can we share directly

I share an office with another company. We work together on mutipul projects and we want to keep our icals synced, but the other guy doesn't want them to be posted on the net. We want to directly sync them. We both have .mac accounts.
The only way I saw to do this was for him to switch to my .mac. and sync his computer as if it were one of mine. He then keeps his calender and i keep mine. But then he looses his .mac capabilites. His computer only sees my .mac. Am I just doing this wrong, or is what I am trying to do not an option.
Also, I have to keep ical running all day because if i close it and reopen it the launch takes like 4 minutes for it to open, and when I sync of the two calenders... (no calender groops and we are not managing on line) it takes FOREVER. I guess I just would like it to run like a networked calender between my 4 computers and his two. All with the same sub calender info.
Is that possiable? we run 10.4.2 on a g5 w/two1gigs, two powerbook g4's, one g4 w/duel 1gigs and and two mini's

Ical not synching with .mac account

We have our set up in our preferences to sync ical with our .mac account, so we can access it away from home. Everytime we log on to our account, it still show it hasn't ben synched, although when I go in the preferences, it shows the box checked so it should sync. Any suggestions? This is frustrating, because it is showing not synched in .mac account and synched on my computer....

iCal does get synced with the .Mac servers, but there is no webinterface available for calendars. However, you can sync your iCal between multiple Macs using that feature.
The only way to access your calender using any machine and the web is to publish your calender. See here for more details:

.Mac accounts for bermudains

Whenever i try to buy a calender of album that I have created through iphoto i can't because the .Mac service will not accept my billing and credit card information. I would strongly surgest to apple that they include other countries such as BERMUDA in the country selection allowing bermudians to by things through their .Mac accounts.

You can send Apple a message by choosing the link out of those on this page or this one which best meets your situation; messages submitted through these links are much more likely to reach the people who can implement them than messages posted here.

Cannot send email from Mail through .mac account

I have recently opened a .mac account and started using the email service. It works fine online however I am having difficulty sending messages through the Mail application in Tiger.
Whenever I attempt to send a message, a dialog box appears saying "Cannot send message using the server smtp.mac.com".
I have tried looking at the setting in preferences. I have deleted and .mac a/c setting in Mail and re-set them up, all the problem persists.
Please help!

Who is your ISP used for connecting to the internet and are you accessing an email account snd SMTP server in Mail provided by your ISP?
If so, can you send messages with the email account and SMTP server provided by your ISP?
Most, if not all ISPs now block the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network (or not provided by the ISP used for connecting to the internet) on Port 25 which is the standard port used for SMTP servers. Some ISPs allow the use of an authenticated SMTP server only (such as the .Mac SMTP server) that is outside of their network on Port 25 but some block its use regardless.
These restrictions are part of an overall effort to prevent spam emanating from the ISP's domain.
Something to try.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your .Mac account preferences at the SMTP server selection, select the Server Settings below for the .Mac SMTP server.
Enter 587 in place of 25 in the Server Port field and when finished, select OK to save the changed setting.
Test if this resolves the problem.
If not and you are accessing an email account and SMTP server in Mail that is provided by your ISP used for connecting to the internet, select/use your ISP's SMTP server to send mail with your .Mac account which is invisible to all recipients.

Multiple .Mac accounts, on one Admin account on one computer

Hello all,
I am trying to have multiple .Mac accounts to publish independent iWeb websites on unique domains (the apple iweb provided ones) but it appears I can only have one .Mac account on my computer's network user to do the easy one click Publish button to.
I don't want to use multiple user accounts on my computer as I'd like to have access to all my photos, music, videos and everything else and easily do so without logging out from my main account.
What am I missing?

The only safe and easy method is multiple user accounts.
You can easily store your iPhoto and music Libraries on an external drive and share them between accounts.

How can I set up email so I can send iPhoto without using a .mac account?

I figured out the AOL iChat LATE last night.
I finally got my email up and running. I called Cox to get the correct POP and SMTP addresses. It still wasn't sending, I spoke with Apple who confirmed I had all my perimeters set up correctly. Back to Cox. After a couple frustrating hours, the only reason the email was not sending was that Cox did not support the SSL that I had checked off.
The great thing about Mac (which I kept overlooking) was when I was trying to send my email, it was giving me hints for example the error message smtp.etc is not connecting with the SSL. I could have saved myself some trouble by unchecking that and testing it earlier.

HT2623 I forgot the password for my .mac account and cannot log into it from Apple Mail. I have an iCloud mail account but did not convert my .mac account to iCloud. How can I log into my .mac or .me email?

I set up .mac, including email, around 2006. I believe my .mac account became a .me account, but I continued to receive email sent to .mac until about March 2013.
I accessed my .mac account using Apple Mail on an iMac running OS X 4.11. I'm still using that machine.
In July 2013, I upgraded my MacBook Pro to OS X 8.5, bought an iPod Touch and set up an iCloud account.
I forgot my .mac password and I want to open an email message sent to my .mac email account.
When I attempt to log into my .mac account using Apple Mail, my password attempts are rejected by a .me mail server.
Is there any way I can restore my access to my .mac or .me email?

Using a different .Mac account in iPhoto

We have a .Mac family pack. My wife and I each have a personal account and we would like to use a completely different .Mac account to post our web galleries, but I don't want to have to create a new user on my Mac just to use iPhoto. Is there a way that iPhoto can use a different .Mac account than the one associated with my user account on my computer to publish galleries?

I assume the settings you are refering to gives that delay for marking the messages as read when highlighted for that period of time. Probably for scrolling through the list without changing the unread status. Lion doesn't have that selection, so I can't test that at the moment.

Whats the difference between using a .mac account and an AIM account?

hi, i'm trying to set up ichat to videochat with home when i'm abroad. Will two AIM accounts satisfy or do i have to have a family .mac account? i really dont see the point in paying 200 bucks for the .mac account if you can do the same thing with a free AIM account.

I am trying to convert my existing iTunes account which uses an Earthlink address. The following is the INSTRUCTIONS from the Apple web site on how to do this.

How do I add an email address for a family member to my .mac account?

Can I add an email address for my mother to my .mac account? I'd like to set up, manage and pay for an email address for her use. I thought this was possible but can't seem to navigate myself to the place where I can get an additional address.

So, after further reading I assume that I must ad an apple id for my mother. Is this correct? Can I, as the responsible party, control purchases and apps that are added to the device I have provided her? I'm not so worried about what she might do as I am what a grandchild might do without her knowledge.

Is that a MobileMe account? Perhaps try the instructions for common desktop mail clients. Obviously the dialogs are different, but if the Pre doesn't already know about the authentication requirements, you might need to check a few more boxes.

Cannot send mail from .mac account in Entourage

I am a new mac user so my troubleshooting skills are very weak. Until about one week ago, i was able to send mail from both my hotmail account and my .mac account. Now, i get this error (just on my .mac account):
An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic.
i read through much of the support articles, but did not find my specific error. can anyone help??

it may be that your server (internet provider) has just started blocking outgoing mails not authenticated by them.
Go to your account set up...
and fill in the following details.
SMTP SERVER: smtp.mac.com
then click on advanced sending otions...
click on override default SMTP port... type 587
click on SMTP servber requires authentication...
use same setting as receiving mail server.

Can't send email from one specific .mac account

I have two .mac accounts on three different machines. My main email account gives me "cant send with server smtp message..." use a different server. I can send just fine with my other .mac acct on the same machine. But I can't send from my main .mac acct on any of the machines or the web client at home or work. I have created a new user from scratch and set up the .mac acct on it and still get the errors. So it doesn't seem to be a problem specific to machine, user, or network. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In your Account setup (via Mail Preferences) you may have to set up an Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) entry. As an example I have a IMAP account and a POP account. The IMAP account has the server smtp.<imap_domain>.com and the POP account has mail.<pop_domain>.net.au. I also have other domain entries which come into play if I am visiting friends or colleagues and need to send or receive mail via their broadband links which have ISP's that differ to mine.
