"no camera found" message on iMac
With Canon SX500 IS attached to my iMac, I then power up th ecamera and open Canon's "Camera WIndow" software, and immediately receive a prompt saying "no camera found." Any help appreciated.
It would help us to know which iMac model you have, which OS & version you're using, how much RAM, etc. You can have this info displayed on the bottom of every post by completing your system profile and filling in the information asked for.
This will help in providing you with the proper and/or correct solutions.

Your response is 100% irrelevant to my message. I'm connecting the iPhone to my computer via USB. Both iPhoto and Image Capture see the phone as a potential camera device from which it should be able to import photos, but it finds no items to import, even though there are three photos on the camera. I'm not using bluetooth in any way. It's turned off.

The message "No camera found" started when I installed a Canon application called ImageBrowser.

"No Camera Found" Message when iTunes Loads
I have a new iPhone 3Gs and when I connect to my Macbook and iTunes loads, this message always pops up. "No Camera Found" When I load iPhoto, however, the images on the phone appear and can be imported with no problem. Doesn't present a problem, but am curious what is going on.
I had the same issue. Try opening Image Capture in Applications, go to preferences and then change the program that opens when a camera is connected to no application.

Web Cam Light Went Out--Now Get Message that No Camera Found
A few weeks ago while shutting down my computer, a message came up that said "no camera found." Since then the web cam light has not come on. I was reading through the support discussions which suggested opening Photo Booth and looking for the camera. However, when I open Photo Booth all I get is a gray screen with a diagonal line over what looks like a camera window. Thank you.

For any iSight problems, first try restarting the Mac. If the problems persist, try all relevant suggestions from:

If your iSight problem still occurs in more than one app and more than one user account, the reset suggested there often restores proper function of inbuilt iSight.
However, if your built-in iSight still does not work after carefully following all the suggestions in the "How to Troubleshoot iSight" article, and if iSight does not show as a USB hardware device in your Mac's System Profiler utility, yours is most likely a hardware problem. In that case, contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.

When I update imovie to 7.1.2 it gives a "camera detected" message & quits
Just got a new 2.8 imac 24. Imovie works fine with the built in isight. When I nstall the update it trys to detect the cam and quits.
I've also just run the latest up-date of iMovie to 7.1.4 and the same problem happened when I try to launch iMovie. The "Camera - Detected" message appears and than iMovie quits. Has anybody found a fix to this issue?? Please help...

I posted this problem here before, but since I really need to access the sites that receive this error message in less than a month, I had to re-post; hopefully someone who didn't see it before will see it & have a solution for me.
Here are the details: I'm running windows 8.1 & I use Firefox 33.1.1, Pale Moon 25.1.0 or Opera 26.0 as my browsers, (I have IE installed & up-to-date, but I never use it). I followed the 10-point checklist on Adobe & everything was done, except for "uncheck Hardware Acceleration" in Flash 'Settings'; I tried to uncheck it on this site, where it's indicated, as well as in my 4 browsers when I'm doing something that uses Flash, but no matter how hard I try, I can't 'uncheck' the check mark in that tiny box! Since this error problem only affects 5 web sites, & I can watch streaming media on all other sites, I don't think it's an issue.
Here's how this problem began: I was watching a live, streaming nest-cam on 5/09/14 around 11:00AM, (yes, I DO know the exact time & date, because it happened so suddenly while I was watching this website that I'd been watching since the end of February, 2014), when my screen went black. I thought it was probably an Adobe Crash, but when the usual Crash Report window didn't show up, I just closed Firefox & reopened it, expecting to resume watching the nest-cam. When I went back to the site, I got the black screen with the "Error loading plugin: Plugin file not found" message. The chat portion on the site still works, though. I know there are other sites with this nest-cam feed, so I started trying them, but it took several tries for me to find one that didn't get the error message! I posted this problem on "Windows BBS" forum, & someone else posted that the same thing happened to them AND on the same sites! They didn't have a solution, either. I cleared my cache, rebooted my PC & even did a System Restore, but whatever happened in that brief second made using ONLY 5 sites impossible. Here are the sites that receive the error message:

I'm an amateur nest-watcher & it's vital that I have access to these 5 sites, so if anyone knows how to fix this, PLEASE tell me!

I have exactly the exact problem described below but do not have a folder with the same name as the volume created under the volume. Please can someone help - I've tried everything. This problem only happened when I upgraded to Dreaweaver CC!

No printer found message when trying to connect to HP Photosmart B210a
Every time I try to print from my iPad2 to HP Photosmart B210a air printer I get the message 'no air printer found'. My iMac does connect to the printer wirelessly each time. If I disable wireless anthem re-enable the wireless network on the printer, the printer can be found for that job only. Next time we are back where we started. I have checked and there are no upgrades needed for the printer. Can anyone help? Thank you.
Yes I have the printer set up as the network printer. The connection works from time to time, and I can force a connection by dies enabling and then re-enabling the wireless connection on the printer. It is just annoying as I have to go to the printer to do that and the whole idea of an air printer!

System is Windows VISTA. While on Verizon/Yahoo mail Firefox will lose the connection and shoe a "server not found" message. Explorer will connect with no problem to the email server. The problem self corrects with in 5 or 10 minutes but this may happen 5 or 6 time in a day.
Is this a Firefox problem with proxy access. Settings appear to be the same.i forgot to mention , that when i striped this machine back down to 10.3.7 and before i re built i did do a hardware check with the original install Disks [3] and every thing came back clean.
the weird ness with the colors on window, if i pass a app like text edit over the area , the color will not cover the app but stay in the background.
when i first saw this color thing i had the preference pane out and was moving it around on screen and the colors were bleeding off of the preference pane onto the screen.
if you have any idea as to what is going on here let me know.

Canon EOS software gives "no camera found".
Since I upgraded to Lion last night I cannot run the Remote Capture Software. Had to borrow a laptop to work. Is there a fix or can I revert back to previous version? Please Help !!
I have a similar problem, I lost iPhoto completely, my EOS utility won't work and cannot download my data from T3i, error message reads no camera found! I had just bought a new Epson Artisan and thought that I would just insert the SD card into the printer port and transfer that way, but Lion will not let me install the printer either!
Will someone please post when there are fixes for these issues? Time is money and this is costing me!!!!

Found a used iMac G3 - won't start up
Hi everyone! Go easy on me, I'm a longtime Windows user and as such, you have to explain things to me very carefully.
After years of wanting an old-school iMac G3 as a kid, I found one today (tray-loader, blue, I can get the serial number if that helps) at a thrift store for $4.50 after a coupon. After getting a new power cord and a generic USB mouse and keyboard, I was all set to play the heck out of Marathon 2, until I found out it wouldn't boot up all the way.
It will turn on and give me the classic iMac chime, but when it tries to load I just get a grey screen with a small folder icon alternating between the Power PC logo (I think?) and a question mark. I've checked all up and down the internet for a solution, but I've gotten some conflicting messages.
I assume it just needs an OS installed, no? Since I only have access to Windows machines otherwise, are there steps I can take to create some kind of boot disk for OS 8/9? I understand this model of iMac can run up to OS X Panther, but is that worth it or would it be too slow and infuriating? And if so, could I just buy OS X Panther somewhere and install it from disc? I've tried making OS 8 boot disks, but since the iMac doesn't seem to recognize the keyboard I haven't been able to try the "hold c/Option-Shift-Delete" tricks or what have you.
I guess what I'm asking is: FOUND OLD BLUE IMAC AT STORE WON'T TURN ON WHAT DO HELP.
Literally any suggestions or advice are appreciated. And feel free to talk to me like I'm a moron: growing up, Apple was a dirty word in my house, so my exposure to Apple stuff is limited to a clickwheel iPod I still love.Welcome!
The flashing question mark can mean that there is no OS on the drive, but could indicate the drive has been removed. As the G3 iMac had no fans, any whirring sounds are likely the hard drive.
It will be better to find a righteous system disk than to try downloading something and trying to create a bootable CD. Fortunately, the price of OS 8.X and OS9 disk are coming down. You can use this 8.6 disk:

although it is not the "full retail install" disk. Your model was more forgiving of disk type than those before and after.
You boot from the optical drive by holdig the c key at startup. If the only OS is on the CD, the computer should boot from it. Then it gives you the opportunity to run utilities to verify the disk is OK before installign the OS.
These typically shipped with a paucity of RAM. I believe 64MB was standard, so yo umay need to bump that up to deal with games. Many games of that era did not run well or at all if virtual memory was turned on. Unlike OS X, OS 9 and earlier allowed you to turn VM off.

After installing 10.9.3 computer won't recognize Canon SD 1200 IS camera: get message "a camera was not detected". Any suggestions?
I have an older Kodak which they have stopped supporting and I have to take out the SD card and put it in the card slot to download pictures. I read other threads where this solved similar problems for others. Some have a separate card reader but I just use the one on my imac. Wish it was more convienent to get to it though.

I am facing this peculiar issue.
Post installation of webcenter, I can access the Webcenter Spaces homepage.
I log into webcenter as admin and configure a Mail Connection. I start and stop the Webcenter Spaces deployment. Now I don't see the Webcenter spaces Home page.
Error on page -

I have lightroom 5.7 and a macbook pro 10.9.5. Occasionally when I am editing a photo in the develop module, I suddenly get a "file not found" message and the editing ceases to work. There is no "exclamation" icon below the histogram box in the Library module or on the photo in grid view, and the histogram is gone. What is going on? Trying to find it using the "find missing photos" in the library menu does nothing.
