No camera found!!!

Hi all,
I had my iSight running for playing around when I first received my MacBook. Everything worked fine.
After installing the rutine updates I'm now running on
Systemversion: Mac OS X 10.4.8 (8L2127)
Kernel-Version: Darwin 8.8.1
Startvolume: Macintosh HD
I use Skype and now wanted to use Video conference, which was the first attempt to use the iSight camera again. I find it not working. The profiler can't find it under USB either. I can hardly believe it is a hardware issue, since a I found a couple of threads in forums which stated issues after updating the OS version to 10.4.8.
Any help is appreciated and I thank you in advance for hints.
Cheers,
ODY

Hi Bigody,
Does it work in iChat or iMovie ?
If not then run this in Terminal.
/Applications/iChat.app/Contents/MacOS/iChat -errorLogLevel 7
iChat will need to be shut down.
It will make iChat start up and list a log of what is happening as it does.
If iChat works then Quit (Try an Video chat first)
Post the log here.
Quit Terminal.

  • No Camera Found message when connecting iPhone

Hello, I am experiencing an annoyance where I plug in the iPhone to my imac and I get a message that reads "No camera found. I have Canon Software installed for my camera. Anyone experiencing the same problems or have a solution. Many thanks.

Your response is 100% irrelevant to my message. I'm connecting the iPhone to my computer via USB. Both iPhoto and Image Capture see the phone as a potential camera device from which it should be able to import photos, but it finds no items to import, even though there are three photos on the camera. I'm not using bluetooth in any way. It's turned off.

  • "No camera found" message when I connect iphone to Macpro?

When I connect my iphone 4 to the Macpro it gives me a warning message:
    no camera found.
Is this an iphoto thing? (i never use iphoto)
    Where do change this pref?
I don't want to see this every time I connect.

This worked perfectly for my system as well.
The message "No camera found" started when I installed a Canon application called ImageBrowser.
    Thanks.

  • "no camera found" message on iMac

With Canon SX500 IS attached to my iMac, I then power up th ecamera and open Canon's "Camera WIndow" software, and immediately receive a prompt saying "no camera found."  Any help appreciated.

It would help us to know which iMac model you have, which OS & version you're using, how much RAM, etc. You can have this info displayed on the bottom of every post by completing your system profile and filling in the information asked for.
This will help in providing you with the proper and/or correct solutions.

  • "No Camera Found" Message when iTunes Loads

I have a new iPhone 3Gs and when I connect to my Macbook and iTunes loads, this message always pops up. "No Camera Found" When I load iPhoto, however, the images on the phone appear and can be imported with no problem. Doesn't present a problem, but am curious what is going on.

I had the same issue. Try opening Image Capture in Applications, go to preferences and then change the program that opens when a camera is connected to no application.

  • When I try to record something it reverts to camera 1 and says "no camera found"

I have just set up my webcam (Logitech QuickCam 9000) and I can see myself in the preview window of VC 3. In the setup menue, it indicates camera 1 as Camtasia Studio and camera 2 as the webcam. I set the input device to camera 2, but when I try to record something it reverts to camera 1 and says "no camera found". What am I doing wrong?

First off, avoid any USB webcams when using Visual Communicator.  See why here:

Since I upgraded to Lion last night I cannot run the Remote Capture Software. Had to borrow a laptop to work. Is there a fix or can I revert back to previous version? Please Help !!

I have a similar problem, I lost iPhoto completely, my EOS utility won't work and cannot download my data from T3i, error message reads no camera found! I had just bought a new Epson Artisan and thought that I would just insert the SD card into the printer port and transfer that way, but Lion will not let me install the printer either!
Will someone please post when there are fixes for these issues? Time is money and this is costing me!!!!

  • Web Cam Light Went Out--Now Get Message that No Camera Found

A few weeks ago while shutting down my computer, a message came up that said "no camera found." Since then the web cam light has not come on. I was reading through the support discussions which suggested opening Photo Booth and looking for the camera. However, when I open Photo Booth all I get is a gray screen with a diagonal line over what looks like a camera window. Thank you.

    Hello Carol Jean
For any iSight problems, first try restarting the Mac. If the problems persist, try all relevant suggestions from:
      http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
If your iSight problem still occurs in more than one app and more than one user account, the reset suggested there often restores proper function of inbuilt iSight.
However, if your built-in iSight still does not work after carefully following all the suggestions in the "How to Troubleshoot iSight" article, and if iSight does not show as a USB hardware device in your Mac's System Profiler utility, yours is most likely a hardware problem. In that case, contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.

  • HT4236 NO CAMERA FOUND

Can anyone tell me why I always get the "NO CAMERA FOUND" everytime I connect my iphone or ipad to my macbook?

The answer is in another post - this is a copy (Paraphrased):
    1. Connect the iPad (or iPhone) is  to the computer
    2. On you Mac, open the Image Capture application. You should see a list of devices in the left-hand pane
    3. Select the iPad (or iPhone) from this list.  Note that at the bottom of this pane is a prompt that says:
    "Connecting this iPad opens:"
    4. Change the "Connecting this IPad opens" to an option of your choice. I chose "No application" in my case.
Thanks to Don Bullock Jr  - he deserves the points for this!

  • After installing canon camera window 8.8.0.10 "No camera found". My Powershot G11 worked fine before installing OS x lion

"No camera found" messagers have occured since installing OS X Lion. I downloaded latest software Camera Window DC 8.8.0.10. Still the software cannot find my Canon Posershot G11. Software and OS Snow Leopard worked fine since I got my camera.

stefan, try using a different usb port.  i had the same problem and when i changed usb ports it worked.  not sure if it's because one port on my mbp is powered and the other isn't...?  when i changed to the powered usb port camera window worked, it recognized my g11 right away...then it worked on the other port afterwards...i can't explain why this would happen.  anyway, good luck i hope this helps.

  • Tethering with Nikon D600 - no camera found!!!!

This is incredibly frustrating to have a $2,000+ camera that cannot connect to Lightroom.  It really impacts the value of both Lightroom and my camera if they don't talk to each other.  Please advise when you anticipate this being fixed in an update.

    Lee Jay wrote:
Then why did you buy the camera?
Well ... considering Aperture and Capture One both support the D600 for tethering, some folks would think the world's leading graphics and imaging software developer would also have supported the D600 by now ... the idea we should be held hostage by a third party developer to base your equipment purchase decisions is just a tad ridiculous ... sometimes we are in need of upgrading equipment for more reasons than what you or Adobe may consider important ... Adobe is NOT the center of the Universe ...
Adobe should be a bit more responsive to stay current ... if they don't consider it a priority to do so, or feel it is too difficult to offer support for tethered shooting, maybe they should drop tether support all together ... it can't be that difficult to offer the support if others can get the job done ... we are not discussing a topic so complex as manned space flight to Mars ... we simply would like to transfer image data from camera to computer at the point of capture ... a task that is not as complex as some would like us to believe ...
To the OP - You can shoot tethered with Lr on Mac OS X as long as you have installed the current Digital Camera RAW compatibility updates ... then use the included Image Capture app (found in the Applications folder) and then point Lr to a watched folder for auto import (this would be the folder you select in Image Capture) ... you won't be able to trigger the camera from within Lr or adjust camera settings ... but you can get the job done this way until Adobe decides it's time to catch up.

You should be able to transfer them again with whatever camera photo program you have on your computer. I use Picasa 3 to manually select my photos for transfer.
