No CCMSPING Connections in RZ21

Hi guys
When I go into trans RZ21 and go to Technical infrastructure -> Availability Monitoring -> Configure CCMSPING Availability Monitoring I can see all of our Production systems - IE ECP, PIP, BIP etc but when I expand them I only see the logon groups check option not the application server options which is what I definitely see in DEV.
So I checked out the logs in RZ21 for CCMSPING Agents under Topology and have seen the following errors which I assume has something to do with why CCMSPING is not working: But what I don't know is what the root cause is - ie is it a login failure - the account is not locked so unlikely to be this.
Thanks in advance

Thanks Sunil,
Sorry, I should have been clear on this.
my issue is that after my kernel upgrade to 720, my availability monitoring is not working. When i go to RZ20--> configure availability monitoring and drop down any of the systems, i just see the logon groups and dont see any application server.
my dev_ccmsping shows as under, not sure why.

  • CCMSPING test is failed

    Hi!
I installed the CCMSPING with commando >ccmsping u2013R -push on satellite system.
Unfortunately when I test the connection from RZ21 on SAP Solution Manager I get
the error that the RFC connection CCMSPING.SERVER.SID does not work.
I checked the windows service on the satellite server and this is working.
    Question
Can I ignore the the error from test within RZ21 on SAP Solution Manager?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Jürgen

    Hi,
Please try to perform the below mentioned steps...
    > Check the RFC destination parameters.. T Code SM59, TCP/IP connection (Type T) with name  CCMSPING.SERVER.Instance
Or deregister the Ping agent & register it again.
    > Resetting the Sgement to WARPMUP status
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/77/1d963bbd138a54e10000000a114084/content.htm
Please Note : CCMS Ping agent should be installed once in a system landscape to monitor all the system in that landscape. So it is not neccessary to install the Ping agent on CEN/monitored system, you can install it on any host, however host system should be part of the system landscape to be monitored.

  • Solution Manager System Monitoring of a CE 7.10

    Hi
I am trying to setup a Solution Manager Monitoring Solution for a CE 7.10 Enviroment.
I have already setup CEN in SOLMAN.
I have registered CE Systems with a sapccmsr j2ee agent.
I have setup the JCO RFC Connection in CE.
I have created the TCP/IP Connection to the JCO Connection in Solman.
I have set the TCP/IP Connection in RZ21 as the J2EE Customizing Destination.
The solution involves only 1 Logical Component with 3 CE Systems.
When I go to the solution manager setup and try to configure the MTE Nodes for my solution I cannot get the MTE context while clicking in Activate Monitoring for other Software Components
I choose Java Application Server, choose my server, choose CEn but when i have to choose the context of the MTE i get an empty list.
IF i go Activate Monitoring for Other Servers and choose the server I get the contexts of the remote server, but I can only choose one.
So how can I see the context of the CE servers in the Software component part?
    Ty.

    Hi,
Have you defined and added corresponding logical systems for the respective satellite systems?
Here is the sequence of steps you've to do:
    in SMSY:
    1) Define server, DB, Systems
    2) Generate READ, TMW, TRUSTED RFCs to the satellite systems
    3) define logical systems and assign the satellite system to it
    in Solution_Manager:
    1) define new solution
    2) add the logical system into the solution
If these steps are successful, you should be able to see the satellite system in SYSTEM MONITORING in Solution_Manager.
Have you already done these steps?
    After performing these steps:
    Solution_Manager>choose relevant solution>operations setup>Solution Monitoring>System monitoring>Activate monitoring> choose the system and activate monitoring.
    Your system will then appear.
    Does this help any way?

  • CCMS: Determining warning messages from CCMS

    Hi!
We use SAP Solution Manager 4.0, SPS 13 for System Monitoring of almost 100 systems.
We configured SOLMAN as CEN system and activated the CCMSPING with –push option.
For almost the 2/3 of the systems we configured SAPCCM4X agents.
Our current problem is a performance issue in tcode DSWP. When we try to enter into one of the solutions there (by pressing on it) we get the following warning:
    Determining warning messages from CCMS
It tooks a while and then it is possible to enter into the solution.
My important question is of course:
How can this issue be solved?
Is there some techniques to analyse and change the problem
As I know there are two ways of sending/retrieving the data:
    via RFC (pull)
    via CCMS (push)
    Which method is faster?
Is there some changes in CCMSPING possible? (interval for sending/retrieving the data)?
Is there some other settings (likw profile parameters e.g. rdisp/...) that could be performed to solve the problem?
Thank you very much for any helpful information
    Regards
    Thom

    Hi Thom,
The CCMSPING agent uses two methods to check availability. One is to connect to the message server using "Ping monitoring" the other method is to check whether you can actually login on the application server and that requires an RFC connection. When you configure Availability monitoring you will see you can configure either or both methods depending on what your requirements are.
The data is collected and stored in a memory segment reserved for monitoring. The agent connects to this segment on your monitored systems and transfers it to your CEN at the set intervals where it is cached. Edit: sorry if confusing, this method used by sappccm4x agent. CCMSPING connects directly to your application server message service to check availability.
You keep asking which is faster but as mentioned you may require both methods depending on your requirements.
Factors like how busy your application servers are(RFC calls require free dialog work processes) and how long the agent should wait before receiving a response will effect the performance which is why you are able to adjust ping timeout and frequency. How many systems are being monitored and how much data is being transfered from those systems is another factor to consider.

  • SAPCCMSR agent gets status SHUTDOWN

    All,
I have installed the monitoring package for SAP Business Connector (on AIX) to facilitate monitoring of the SAP BC. This uses a SAPCCMSR agent which runs on the SAP BC machine, collects data, and sends this to the SAP Monitoring system CCMS. This works fine. However, when our SAP Monitoring system is stopped & started, the monitoring agent gets the status SHUTDOWN and no more data is recieved in SAP (altough the agent remains active on the SAP BC server). In order to get the monitoring working again I have to perform a manual connection test of the agent in RZ21.
Does anyone know if there is any way of keeping the connection alive when the monitoring SAP system is stopped, or if the checking of the connection in RZ21 can be automated?
    Thanks.

    Hi Amrendra,
Thanks for your response. The step 2 is what I am referring to as the action I would like to have automated. The agent has the status SHUTDOWN after stopping & starting the SAP system. Performing the connection test manually sets the status to ONLINE again and activates the monitoring again in CCMS. This I would like to know if it can be automated.
    Regards,
    Bart

  • Monitoring Pause is not working (CCMSPING, RZ21)

    Hi,
I am trying to configure Availability Monitoring in CEN (Solution Manager System). We are on SPS16 with latest kernel. I have installed CCMSPING in the satellite system (C11) which is a ABAP+Java add-in installation. I have included C11 in RZ21 for Monitoring with Logon Check, Server Ping, Logon Group Check, Monitor Selected and New (Specification for New Servers) and Monitor all, Including New (Specification for New Groups) .
I have defined an auto reaction method (ZCCMS_OnAlert_Email_V2) for Availability_SysPercent_ABAP and Availability_SysPercent_J2EE MTE Classes. When the application goes down, the auto-reaction method kicks in promptly.
The problem occurs when I have created a Monitoring Pause in RZ21 for C11, say for a day. Once the pause is setup, I expect the CEN not to trigger the email  about the application being "DOWN". This does not happen.
Additionally, I did not succeed when I removed auto reaction method and deactivated/removed monitoring pause to check whether an email is triggered when the application goes down. The system did not trigger an email.
I could not find a suitable answer in SAP Help, OSS and SDN. I might go wrong in choosing the appropriate MTE Class or auto reaction method.
Any documentation to fix this issue is appreciated.

    Hi,
I think your scenario is similar to the one here --
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4035384#4035384
Can you check if Rick's (Captiv8r) answer helps you.
What action has been assigned to teh click boxes (other than Next), you can set an advance action to each in which you can assign two actions one of which will be the existibng action they hold and the other as a pause action.
    Thanks,

  • SM59 RFC connection via router

    Hi Friends,
I want to connect from one system to another via rfc and DYNDNS.
The problem is I have a DSL router. The way is ERP6(1) -> DSL Router ->ERP6(2).
When I use the normal sap logon, I can logon with "server.dyndns.org" to ERP(2).
In DSL Router I configerud the "Nat Rule" 123.123.2.2:3203 and it leads me automaticly to the logon screen.
But then I try the RFC connection, it does not work.
In RFC I give "server.dyndns.org" as target machine.
Do I have to call the target machine with port and how does the entry looks like?
    Thanks in advance
    Jimbob

    Hello Jon/all,
    many thanks for your recommendations.
Our RFC-connection from SOLMAN to the satellite system via SM59 does not use load balancing and looks as follows:
    /H/saprout1/H/193.84.171.507
We also allow the connections to the message port (36xx) within SAPROUTTAB.
Colud you kindly explain what are the settings of:
    1) RZ21 --> Connection Data and Monitoring options --> Router String
    The current CCMSPING entry is:
    Connection Data and Monitoring options:
    Message server host name: 193.84.171.507
    IP Service Name: sapms<sid>
    Router String: /H/saprout1/H/
    2) The entries within SAPROUTTAB
    3) The entries within SERVICES and HOST files
    Thank you very much!

  • System Availability using CCMSPING

    Hello Gursus,
I am configuring system availability monitoring in solman (CEN). have put the ccmsping exe in satellite system, please let me know do i have to put the exe in solman too?
    Reddy

    Hi Reddy,
    1) When you install the CCMS ping agent(s) you will configure it to connect to the gateway of the ABAP system you are going to perfrom your availability monitoring from. Typically your Solution Manager system.
A TCP/IP rfc destination will be created in your montitoring system fro each agent you register.
    2) No. You will only need to install one (or two if you want redundancy) CCMS ping ageant which you register to your monitoring system.
Note if you are using more than a single CCMS agent you must install it with -push option and it's own ccmsping number
You will also need to update a table in the monitoring system. See the SAP help at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/EN/71/199a41cffaad5fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
e.g. if they are installed on a Windows host you will end up with services like:
    CCMSPING.01 "D:\usr\sap\prfclog\ccmsping.exe" -Service -push -n01
    CCMSPING.02 "D:\usr\sap\prfclog\ccmsping.exe" -Service -push -n01
    3) If you install more than one CCMS ping agent and register it to the same monitoring system you can combine them in a group. that way if one agent is stopped for any reason the other will still check that your moniroed systems are available.
(You can only configure group if you have updated the table ALAVLCTR as per the SAP help)
In RZ21 --> Technical Infrastructure --> Availbility monitoring --> Configure CCMS ping Availability Mon.
From the "CCMS Ping" dropdown button select "Administer CCMSPING groups"
For 40 systems I would recommend one CCMSPING agent installed on the same host as the ABAP system you are using for monitoring (which should be your Solution Manager system).

Tried with 36<Instance number>, aslo tried with IP address in the host name filed but no luck.
We have 4 PRD systems out of which 2 works and the other 2 is not working. The working systems are 640 systems and the other two systems which is not working are 620 systems.
I have tried updating CCMSPING to the latest patch level as well.
The services file in the CEN system is maintained with correct values.
We have SAPROUTER running in our CEN system, and the entries can be found in my previous post.
We are not using the router to connect because the systems which are working do not have any router string attached to them.
Please let me know if you find any reason for the problem.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Missing sapmsg.ini when configuring CCMSPING availability monitoring

Has anyone has any issues configuring Availability Monitoring with CCMSPING under RZ21 ?
Under the option, Technical Infrastrucure -> Availability Monitoring -> Configure CCMSPING Monitoring
    Monitoring -> Create System
There is an option to import the SAPMSG.INI file
I have sapgui 7.1 loaded on this desktop
For some reason, the file SAPMSG.INI is not available.
I even tried defining a Group Logon on SAPLogon, SAPMSG is still not available.
Then we tried defining the system manually - all we got was a message, "system not found"
Has anyone tried doing CCMSPING Availability Monitoring on Netweaver 7.0 (Solution Manager 4.0) ?

    Hi,
The SAPMSG.ini is created by your SAPGUI. check it in your Windows directory, there should be one if you are connecting to any SAP server using the message server.
Check this link for configuring availability monitoring:

  • RZ21 - ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED when adding a new system

    HI,
I installed saphostagent on a sateliete system (Linux suse 10 with Oracle 11) to be able to monitor the system with our SolutionManager.
Our Solution Manager is on 7.01 EHP1 support pack 8.(WIndows 2003 with SQLserver 2005)
When I try to add the system to be monitored in Solution Manager with transaction RZ21 I get an error.
In RZ21 : --> technical infrastructure --> configure central system --> create remote monitoring entry
I fill in all the details, and when I save, I get the following error message:
SOAP:1.023 SRT: Processing error in Internet Communication Framework: ("ICF Error when receiving the response: ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED")"
I found SAPnote 1450589, which descibes the error, but unfortunately our system is already on the mentioned support pack in this note, so this note is not applicable for us.
Does anyone got an idea on what can be causing this error?
    Thanks in advance,
    Menno

    Hi,
ICF errors nt the program errors, it is just the connection failure errors,
please check the RFC for the managed system which you maintained in the remote monitoring entry in RZ21.
please correct that RFC connection, it could be any reason, check this too

  • Ccmsping registration problem in Solution manager

    hi,
I am installing CCMSPING agent to check "System Availability" from Solution Manager.
In our system ladscape we have multiple systems on sigle host. for eg) TP7 & DW1 on single host cpafisb8.
I have successfully registered the CCMSPING agent in Solman.
I have followed the Availability doc for registeration CCMSPING. Following are the major steps that i have done:
1)Download & extract CCMSAGENT from market place.
    2)Configuration of Central Monitoring system.
3)Registration of CCMSPING using command u201Cccmsping -push -Ru201D.
4)Configured Availability Monitoring in Central System (i.e. Solution Manager) in RZ21.
As result i can see the stellite sytem node in RZ20 under         " SAP CCMS Monitor Templates-->Availability and Performance Overview".
When i go to transaction "solman_workcenter" in tab "System Landscape management", i can see the staus of system as Green for the system i registered.
Now, the problem i facing in in transaction solman_workcenter is described as follows:
As i mentioned We have multiple systems on single host, for eg) TP7 & DW1 are on the same host "cpafisb8",
hence if CCMSPING has been registered for TP7 the status is green for DW1 too even if DW1 has no entry in RZ21.
Strange thing is DW1 was showing.
I have tried following three options to make the status correct in solman_workcenter:
    1) I have maintained hostname for TP7 as "TP7.afis.chevrontexaco.net" which is alias for
hostname cpafisb8 in RZ21 & SMSY & status is correctly showing green for TP7 but still for DW1 which is not defined in RZ21, status is showing green.
2)I have unregistered the CCMSPING fron TP7. TP7 status has been changed to gray but strange thing happeneing was DW1 status was still green even no ccmsping process was running on the DW1 host.
3)I have registered the CCMSPING for TP7 with its central instance profile options using command:
    ccmsping -R -push -n31 pf=/usr/chevron/TP7/profile/TP7_DVEBMGS31_cpafisb8
and agin configured TP7 in solution manager & status changed gray to green for TP7, but no change happening in DW1 status.
Can anyone please help on this strange behavior of Solman_workcenter.

    Hi,
    Thanks for he reply..
But i have already followed the process that you described or CCMSPING registration. and CCMSPING is transfering the data successully from satellite system to solution manger.
And as result of successul registration i can see the status of that satellite system as green in transaction "solman_workcenter".
But as i described earlier we have multiple systems registered on single host.for eg)SY1 & SY2 on host1
Hence even though the CCMSPING is not registred for SY2 & only registered or SY1 on host1 with RZ21 configuration in solution manager for SY1; SY2 status is also shown green in transaction solman_workcenter.
I want that only status of SY1 should be shown as green in solution manger under transaction "solman_workcenter".
I hope you understood the issue.
    thanks

  • Availability monitoring using ccmsping - refresh rate

So I've configured my solman 3.2 to monitor the availability of other systems via the use of ccmsping.  I can see the other systems well enough, but the problem is the long time it takes for my solman system to become aware that a monitored system is no longer active.
It can easily take 20 minutes for it to report that a system is unavailable.  When I say "report", I mean that the status is updated in the 'Availability and Performance Overview' monitor in RZ20.
Even then, the only evidence visible is that the 'Availability' alert changes colour due to the % availability over the last 15 minutes.  The other alerts for Groups and Instances simply turn white because no information is coming from the child system.
SAP help and the document "Availability Monitoring with CCMSPING.pdf" advice that monitoring frequency can be changed by changing the parameter values for the CCMS_AVAIL_LOGON_CHECK method.  I have changed these values, which have had no apparent impact on the response times for noticing that a system has become unavailable.
    Any suggestions?
