No CENTRAL nor DIALOG instance known for system SID

Hi,
We are in the process of setting up our Solution Manager 7.1. Currently we are in the step 'Managed System Configuration'.
We are stuck on the step 7 - "Create Users". There are 4 users to be created which are already there in the systems(Created Manually).
The users are
SAPSUPPORT and SMDAGENT_XXX for ABAP and Java both.
In the ABAP view it gives the error as "No CENTRAL nor DIALOG instance known for system SID".
In the Java view it gives the error as "User Status Cannot be checked".
We are on the below Support Pack status:

I'm sure that you will see this error if you expand the error entry:
SPML service failed to process searchRequest
1. If you followed the advices from note 1616058, disabling SPML:
When the SPML is desactivated, the status of users can't be checked.
We are working to provide a note to solve this issue. Note number is 1647267, it is not release yet, but the solution is:
"Enable to flag the user creation to 'manually performed' in solman_setup".
2. If you didn't disable SPML:
Please refer to the steps in this SAP Note : 1647157 which will help you address the issue.

Instance DVEBMGS00 for system NSP not configured

Hi,
I installed the Sneak Preview ABAP Stack on my system.It runs great and donot have any problems(till now)
But when i did Profile check using RZ10 I am finding the following message
"Instance DVEBMGS00 for system NSP not configured" in START Profile check.
Can some one tell me in configuring the same ??

SMD Agents for Dialog Instances and Distributed Systems

Hi,
We are planning to install SMD agents in our landscape.
Is it sufficient if we install SMD agent on the central instance Host to monitor all the instances ( CI + Dialog Instances)
or
Do we need to install SMD agents individually for all the Instances each for CI and Dialog Instances.
Also , If we have CI and DB on a separate host (Distributed Environment), Do we need to install SMD Agent on DB host also.

Installation of central or dialog instance?

Hello,
We are currently running an ABAP-System only. We want to install an AS JAVA in order to use Adobe Document Services. We only want to use Print Forms and no Interactive Forms.
My question is, if the JAVA installation has to be as a central instance or as a dialog instance? I read through all the guides I could find, but I'm not quite sure in this point. Is the dialog instance only usable if you are already using a JAVA distributed system?
What are your recommendations, is it enough to install a simple AS JAVA or would you recommend installing EP or EPC? As I said, the AS JAVA is only needed for Adobe Print Forms for now.

For the scenario of print forms you can Install Adobe document services on a SAP Web AS 6.40 ABAP + J2EE system (J2EE Add-In).

Problems in Dialog instance installation for ECC6.0(ABAP+JAVA)

Does anyone can help me what should be a procedure of installing Dialog instance for ECC 6.0 with both ABAP + Java Stacks.
When installing app server do we also choose ABAP and Java or just ABAP. Installation manual does not cover this and when we run the sapinst we have following problem:
The following are the activities that I have done as pre-reqs on the standby on the server that is to host dialog instance
I have mounted the following file systems on ddrsap02. Created the local filesystem /usr/sap/DSP/D00 and NFS mounted the others

Am I missing some pre-reqs or variable definitions?
I was going through the documentation and it says that /sapmnt/DSP/exe should be a local filesystem for a DI on a separate server. Will this create a problem ?
Also they talk about starting sapinst with the variable SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME set to ddrsap02. I have tried this also
We are also not 100% sure about the settings for parameters:

rdisp/mssserv_internal
Accorss Devault Instance and Services Instance profile.
When we define it as per installation GUIDE (Abap+Java page 64) we get the popup message in SAPINST:

Installing Dialog Instance in heterogeneos system

Hi
We have the Central Instance/DB Instance in the same server SUN Solaris O.S. and one Dailog Instance in SUN Solaris O.S., but we want to put one more Dialog Instance in IBM AIX O.S. I am not sure about how to deactive the automatic synchronization but we will have diefferente platforms.
If we do not mount the filesystems from central to our new dialog if could be enought or we have to change something else in the profile parameters ?

安装完用rz10维护CI和DI的instance profile和start profile时，在点击基础维护或检查参数文
件时，分别出现

的提示，用扩展维护有在INSTANCE_NAME下提示以上错误，删除该参数，CI无法启动。
系统没发现其它异常。
在profile目录下直接修改参数能生效，目前只是不能通过RZ10维护参数，请高人诊断

Basically, SAP cuts many parts in this ABAP trail version.
as you know, sapmnt, saploc don't exist in this version.

How to distrubute the load to another Dialog instance in clusterred system

I have cluster environment(ABAP Stack) where load has been put on CI which lead to performance issue. Is there possibility to change the load to another DI dynamically or if not please tell me how can i reduce the load on the system.

EP Central System + Dialog Instance Installation options

Hi Friends
For my production EP 6.0 WAS 6.40-Java instance I am getting 3 AIX servers, say server DBserver, Appserver1 & Appserver2, we want to install the database & CI on the DBserver, the other 2 servers need to serve the role of Application servers to the DB+CI server.
In our SAP R/3 Production systems we don't allow the users to login to the server hosting the (database+CI) & we allow them to login only to the appication servers, I want to do a similar setup for my Production portal landscape & require that the portal users are load-balanced using the SAP Web Dispatcher to the 2 application servers.
I have 2 questions on which installation options to choose to achieve the above objective.
1. Can somebody check & confirm if the below mentioned Installation sequence is correct for Installing the WAS on the 3 servers.
a) Using Installation option "Java System ->Oracle->Central System->Custom Installation-Java system" for the DBserver.
b) Installation option "Java System ->Oracle->Central System->Dialog Instance Installation" for Appserver1 & Appserver2.
2. Can somebody advice how do I need to install the portal on the 3 servers so that the above objective of load-balancing the users to the 2 App servers is met.
a) Do I need to install portal only on the DB+CI server & then the portal platform will be setup on the 2 App servers as well or
b) Can I install the portal separately on the 2 portal App servers.

Installing Java Dialog Instance - Error while connecting to DB

We would like to add a dialog instance to our production Portal server. We installed Portal as stand-alone on the central instance. We have another server we would like to setup to serve as a Portal dialog instance.
So far I have installed Windows 2003 Server Standard. Installed MSSQL server client tools (database is mssql server). Installed jdk 1.4.62. Set java home and path environmental variables. I'm now installing the Java dialog instance (I can't find any documentation on this). From Netweaver installation CD> SAP NetWeaver '04 Support Release 1> Java System> MS SQL Server> Dialog Instance Installation>
SAP System ID: (sid) ES2
Central Host: SAPEPS02
Path to JAVA DVD supplied> JDK Directory confirmed> Domain paramaters confirmed> domain<sid> account passwords supplied> domain<service><sid> account password supplied> Instance number confirmed>
Installation started> It gets to step 8 and fails stating "Error while connecting to DB". I looked through all the log files and couldn't come up with anything (i'm very thorough).
I tried adding the users to the database as dbowners (no luck). I installed SQL server 2000 with SP4. No where during this installation did I get prompted for database parameters?
Is there something basic i'm missing? Does this scenario not work? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pointing me in the right direction of the correct documentation would also be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Mail forms must be recreated on each box.
They can be a bit of a nightmare if you have multiple clients on a box.
But the short answer as I mentioned is you'll have to create each form again.

Hi,
As you said you want to install dilog instance in diffrent system means you have to install oracle client,,java.And we have to set the environment variables
Then run the setup.cmd u will get three options
central instance
database instance
dilog instance
select diloginstance and run the installation ,same like as central installation.
In dilog instance will ask the censtall instance instance number,database host name..etc.
If u start once you can do it.

We have several locations in the world and we want to install servers with dialog instance's for every location.
What is the best place for a dialog instance?
At the location itself or, like somebody told me, near the DBserver/Central Instance.
Logically I would say, at the remote location itself...but I want some opinions on that.

No, the recommendation is to install Dialog instance near DBServer/central Instance preferably connected by a high-speed (G-bit) LAN.
The reason is that the data exchnage between SAP Servers are approx 10-times more than server to end-user. So, having Dialog Instance at the remote location will put enormous pressure on network and performance will not be adequate.

Yes of coure there is official documentation to refer when you install additional dialog instance.
For example, here it is(if you are using Netweaver portal 7.0)

- select your version, for example "SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 - Installation Guides"
- then select your DB and OS platform
- open the PDF installation guide
