No Charge? Display shows battery with 1 bar and lightning

I have had no problems since my purchase of my 4 gig nano.
I've only charged it once, waiting for the battey to fully discharge. No problem until yesterday.
Upon charging my nano (which againg was fully discharged) i plugged my nano into my Powerbook 550 via USB, to charge and create some new playlists. To my surprise itunes did not detect my ipod, and my ipod would not turn on while connected to my powerbook.
I figured the battery was not fully charged. Last night i left the nano plugged into my comp, to be charged over night. The display showed 1 bar on the battery and a lightning bolt over the display.
After 14 hours of charging overnight, the display still shows 1 bar on the battery and the lightning bolt. Now when I unplug the nano from the charger, the display shuts off and it is unable to turn on manually: pressing the select, play, holding down play, or even the reset menu + select button. All i get is the Apple screen then it goes to the batter - but only if the nano is plugged in.
I have updated my itunes, and the ipod nano drivers. I have downloaded songs onto my nano without any problems. The nano isn't detected on the system profiler also.

So I took my nano to the apple store. It turns out that the battery on my nano was completely discharged that the USB port on my Mac was unable to recharge it. The store tried the wall adapter to charge my nano...and wa laa! it started charging.
The store offered to replace my nano for a new one. But since the new iPod video came out, I asked for an upgrade to the new iPod.
Now I have an iPod video.
So, i guess the best way to fix a busted nano is to replace it with a new iPod.

Agree with Richard:
-Your device needs both the CR and LF. To accomplish this:
option 1: Concatenate the "end of line" string constant (this is a combination of CR and LF, located in the string pallete) to all your outgoing commands. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is false.
option 2: Concatenate only a CR to your command's strings. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is TRUE AND that the termination character is set to 10 (meaning LF) which I think is the default.

Interesting would be to configure the serial port to accept not one but two termination characters. The above links refers to the document "Developer Zone Tutorial: Termination Characters in NI-VISA.", where this is supposed to be possible. The document however is 404'ed.

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. I suspect a hardware problem due to the hotness. If iTunes can't see the iPod then uor only hope if to contact a data recovery company for getting data off the iPod. If you have an iPod backup you can restore another iPod, iPhone or iPad from the backup to get the data that was in the backup

Try resetting the iPod whilst connected to the charger. Hold down the menu/select buttons until you see the logo. Also have a look here.
iPod battery won't charge.

This sounds like screen curtain may be enabled. Screen curtain is a feature that allows display privacy. To disable screen curtain while VoiceOver is enabled, you can three finger triple tap the screen to disable this feature. You may need to press the home button once in order to process these steps. Window resized to show only title bar and pushed off screen viewing area

Anyone else experiencing this strange phenomenon?
I open some PDF documents, then leave the computer for a few hours. When I come back, they have all been resized to only show the title bar AND they have been pushed off the bottom left corner of my screen, so that only a tiny portion of the title bar can be seen. I then drag them all back up into view, and resize them so I can read them again. Give it another couple hours of not being actively used, and they disappear back down to the corner.
Very strange Abobe... what's happening?

What on earth do you mean by shattered? Can you post a picture?
It's always possible that the connector was damaged but not to the point that chargers wouldn't work. With continued use, the damage got worse until the connector could no longer feed electricity into the phone.
It sounds to me like you need to get your phone replaced but only the folks at an Apple store can say for sure.

Request help to display a list with parent and child list item.

I created a static list with items A,B,C and a child item A1 under parent A. I chose the template "vertical Side bar list". I am using theme 10 (sand) for my application. I created page 0 and am displaying the list on page template region position2. I am able to see the side bar with options A,B,C. But am not able to see the child option A1 when I click on Option A. I tried using 'DHTML MENU WITH SUB LIST' but When I click on option A, the child entry A1 is showing over the B and C options. I know this might be a pretty basic functionality. I am new to APEX and am just learning. I appreciate any help you give me.

MacBook Pro 13" bought Jul 20 2010 showing battery as 99% and 5hrs : (

I have recently upgraded to a 13" MacBook Pro from a 13" MacBook 2008 model because of the advertised battery life of upto 10hrs. Currently the laptop on average is giving me half of the advertised time. While this is more than double of my last laptop it isnt anywhere near the advertised time. With one to two apps open I do not consider myself to be a app intensive user.
The battery timer has been indicating 5+ hrs on a fully charged battery. I read up and calibrated the battery earlier today hoping for some improvement and now it is indicating a low 6+. I usually work wirelessly (airport extreme) and have firefox open with 10+ tabs and maybe one or two apps like preview etc. open. I do have start up apps - snapz pro, shove box and drop box.
After reading a few posts on forum i downloaded coconut battery and the readings are

IOS TextInput cursor and content show through title bar and other UI elements

When a form is contained within a scroller, it is possible to scroll the content whilst the softkeyboard is displayed and the input element retains focus - on iOS, this causes the cursor and the text to show through UI elements on iOS such as the titlebar content.
Has anyone come up with a workaround or knows whether this is fixed in Air 3/ Flex 4.6?

Thanks for posting and sorry for the slow reply.
Your suggestion will only make a difference on Android - iOS had this bug in 4.5.*, so reverting to the older skin will make no difference on this OS.
Adobe suggest not scrolling forms if you want to support iOS or use the new StageText features - the suggested workaround of wizard forms is unacceptable for my use case and a scrolling form is a common UI pattern on mobile, so I'm experimenting with the following:
1. Use CSS to apply the old TextInputSkin
2. I monitor the soft keyboard events and maintain a 'isKeyboardVisible' property in my views.
3. I register event handlers on the scroller viewport and set stage.focus to null if my keyboard is currently active and the user attempts to scroll.
This works and prevents the artifacts from showing through the UI, I just need to find the perfect events.. property change is no good, so I'm playing with mouse and touch events.

My phone made some contact with water but after putting it in rice, it was fine. The only problem was that it had stopped charging and now the battery is dead and I don't know what to do

If you try to have it repaired and it still doesn't work, you'll be out that money and still need to buy a replacement phone. Water damaged phones rarely work well again. I know you're looking for a lower cost option, but spending the money and getting a phone that works 100% seems to be the best option. It's your money and your choice, but I wouldn't try to fix a water damaged phone. Maybe that's just me.........
