No charge, no lights, third one to do this....no good?

3 shuffles the very same thing. will not charge, no lights, nothing. open itunes and it recognizes the correct shuffle. Any ideas? The 5 r's simply don't work. Maybe they won't delete this post!!

Hi,
Is it a desktop or a laptop? If it is a desktop, please switch on the iPod and connect it to the dock and the dock to the back usb port [ Front usb ports are low-powered and the usb ports which are in the back are high-powered ones ( iPod shuffle needs high-powered usb ports for working consistently fine )]. Also, if it is a second generation iPod shuffle it is better to connect the iPod switched on .. if it is a first generation iPod .. connect the iPod switched off.
Hope this helps.

  • A "VZW free msg" says a phone on my account "made a charge with a third-party vendor ... ."

This evening, I got a "VZW free msg" alerting me that a phone on my account had "made a charge with a third-party vendor." This is the second such message I've gotten this billing period. The messages are identical. My bill for the current billing period won't be ready till this weekend, so I have no way to track down any details. The phone belongs to my wife, and I am absolutely certain that she has not billed anything to her phone. The maddening thing about these messages is they give no details. Who's the third-party vendor? How much was the charge? What did my wife supposedly buy? No such details appear in the text message, and I can't find details anywhere on the My Verizon site.
This text message does add: "For details or to block such charges: www.verizonwirel." (That's correct as written—I presume some of the message got truncated. That's how the message appeared both times.) However, I can't find any documentation about how to block these charges.
After I got the first of these messages, I called Verizon's customer service number (800.922.0204). A very pleasant gentleman noted my concern and checked my account. He found no such third-party charges, and he advised me to look carefully at my next bill. I left it at that until I got the second message this evening.
Speaking of customer service: This evening, I tried twice calling Verizon's customer service number. Both times, the call ended with a recorded voice telling me, "I'm sorry, but your call cannot be processed at this time. Please try your call later." Huh? Why not an offer to leave my number for a call-back? They as much as hung up on me. Not impressed. And, by the way, why doesn't Verizon post their customer service number on the Web site? I had to dig up the number by way of www.gethuman.com.

Contact us on every page has the number.
*611 from your device works as well.
That third party stuff is probably "cramming" Verizon just got hit with this practice which is illegal.
The law states you can call Verizon up and have them place a permenant block on third party services.
They cannot refuse and you do not have to pay for them.
Notify the FCC http://www.FCC.gov or the Federal Trade Commission http://www.FTC.gov
    Good Luck

  • Battery Charging Indicator Light Is Out

I own a tangerine iBook, OS X 10.4 operating system.
For a year or so charging the battery while the power cord in has been a "fussy" project -- sometimes it wouldn't charge until I moved the "plug-in-to-the-computer" end of the cord out ever so slightly. I bought a new power cord, but that didn't change things.
I don't have internet at hom, so most days I take my laptop and power cord to the public library and use the library's WiFi to look for work. Yesterday I came home, plugged in the power cord, and no battery charging light. I "jiggled" the cord, got out the old power cord and tried that one, then I tried a different electrical outlet. No battery charging indicator light, and the battery is discharging while I use it with the power cord.
I'm assuming this is an electrical problem that I can't fix, but can anyone fix it? When the battery runs out, will the iBook keep running when plugged into an electircal outlet, or is the electricity not getting to where it need to be?
I've had problems with the battery not charging before, and once I was advised to reset something, but I've alway had the indicator light on, so now I don't know if power is getting to my computer.
I went to About This Computer, clicked on Power and saw this:
    AC Charger Information:
      AC Charger (Watts):    0
      Connected:    No
      Charging:    No
which looks like it doesn't think I'm connected to any power source.

Yes, if resetting the PMU doesn't work, it does sound like the DC-in board has failed.
It is not an easy repair (especially for someone who describes herself as "NonTech."

  • AC Charger Indicator Light Problem

    Hello!
Just today, when I tried charging my 13" Macbook Aluminum (bought in March 2009), the "indicator light" wouldn't light up. I was really shocked why it was working because just last night, I was charging it and it was fine. I thought the socket was the one that wasn't working, so I tried some of our other sockets, but then, it still wasn't "lighting" up. So I gave up. Then I just tried to plug my charger the whole time with my mac, and I was surprised to see that my macbook was actually charging. Though the charging rate was like 1% per hour, more or less. However, when I checked in the AC charger information if it was really connected, this was what I saw:
    AC Charger Information:
    Connected: No
    Charging: No
then I tried checking if the indicator was already working. And it actually was working, but the indicator light was so faint that I had to make sure the room was really dim to see the light. But the thing is, the light was green, which is not right, since it's not yet fully charged. I don't know what to do. Should I replace the charger or not? because I've read in some of the threads here that the charger is not really the problem here. I really really need your help guys
    just additional info:
    Charge Information:
    Charge remaining (mAh): 1250
    Fully charged: No
    Charging: No
    Full charge capacity (mAh): 3863
    Health Information:
    Cycle count: 183
    Condition: Good
    Battery Installed: Yes
    Amperage (mA): 85
    Voltage (mV): 11384

You need to try a different, known-good charger on your Mac. If that works, then the problem is the charger and you can replace it. If a good charger still fails to charge your MacBook, then the problem is in the MacBook itself and you will need to have it serviced.
Have you tried resetting the SMC? Doubt it will fix it, but it sometimes addresses power issues:

  • My macbook pro 15, 2008 model says it's charging, amber light on magsafe, yet battery icon remains at 9%

    Help needed!
My macbook pro 15, early 2008 model, runs on mountain lion, has developed a problem with charging. When I plug in the magsafe charger , it lights up amber  (to suggest it's charging) and the battery charging icon at the top right of the screen is visible.  Furthermore when I check the system power settings it says the battery is charging.
However! the  percentage of charge doesn't seem to be increase!  I had it charging for over 2 hours last night and the charge remained at 9% which is where it was when I started....
    Can anyone help?
    thanks

Yes, I boot up from the OS 10.6.3 installation disc and use Disc Utility to repair Disk and Permissions. I must tell you though, I've done the disc repair and permission repair quite a few times and it has never helped. Right now I've forgotten the OS disc in Luxemburg so I can only get it when I'm back in 3 weeks.
I ran Disc Utility today though and repaired permissions. The only one that wasn't fixed was an SUID-file.
I also checked the disc and it has some problems but I can't fix them until I get my OS disc or if I ask them to do it at the Genius Bar.
Yes, I have a Time Machine backup on an external usb HDD, last time I backed up was yesterday.

  • How to change one iView to another in portal page by clicking the third one

    Hi all!
I have created four iViews: two speedometers with web application designer and two iViews with visual composer. I added the speedometers and a visual composer iView #1 to a portal page (default view). The requirement is that by clicking the speedometer #2, the visual composer iView #2 would replace visual composer iView #1 on the portal page. If the user then would select the speedometer #1 again by clicking it, visual composer iView #2 would replace #1 again and so on.
I have read article http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50b65a5d-f397-2910-a78a-f5544f21c33b?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true, but it is more about filtering VC iView values with BI web items. I don't need to filter anything, just to change one iView to another in a portal view by clicking a third one.
I have thought of placing two VC iView to a same portal page area and defining one of the to be visible and another hidden (by clicking speedometers these properties would change), but I haven't found the way how that could be done in portal. Is there a way to define some OnClick-method to change visibility parameters or url-address of another iView?
One solution might be¨on the other hand to transfer any value to VC by clicking a speedometer and to change the visibility of the VC iViews according to that value (the speedometer #1 should in that case transfer other value to VC than speedometer #2). I don't know if that is possible with speedometers - you can't reference any characteristics or variables with it.
If you have an idea, what would be the best way to accomplish this requirement, I would be very glad to hear about it! We are in VC 7.0.
    Points garanteed!
    Regards
    Sari

    Hi,
In the portal, create a page and place the iView having the three input fields on top. Place the second iView below. Keep differing the second iView for every page. In this way you can make the iView with 3 input fields only in the desired pages. You can use EPCF to invoke / navigate to another iView.

Hi, I am trying to install Windows on my MacBook Pro with bootcamp. Every time I open bootcamp I am only able to check the first two boxes but not the third one saying "install or remove Windows 7". I did this before using the same computer and the same hard drive so I am not sure why this is happening now but did´t happen then. Any solutions ?

Was your Bootcamp info.plist manipulated to change any options?

  • HT4060 My ipad mini wont charge I bought a new charger since the old one didn't charge my ipad and the same problem is happening i charged it over night and when I woke up it said 50% soo can someone help me this is my first apple product a

Well my ipad mini isn't charging.. I with the original charger it didn't show the charging sign when plugged in.. And I bought a new one a 12:00 one from bath bed and beyond. Now it ain't charging again even thought it did a few days ago.. Now I don't know what to do.. I don't wanna keep buying chargers..

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.htmlhttp://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Have just down loaded Yosemite over Mountain Lion, Indesign CS5 does not work ( Am dependant on it) although Bridge , Light Room and Elements operate OK How do I solve this rapidly. Can any one help on this issue. Thanks

Sorry to say it, but I think you can see from Bob's response that there's no way to solve this rapidly.
Did you take an image of your Mountain Lion install before upgrading to Yosemite? Roll back to that. If you're not in the habit of taking a snapshot of your system before performing operating system upgrades - get in that habit. If you are dependent on anything at all on hour computer, having a reliable backup method in place is essential. If you don't have a Time Capsule, or some other way to run Time Machine onto a disk that's not in your computer, go set that up yesterday.
If you can't just remove Yosemite and roll back to Mountain Lion for whatever reason, you can partition your drive so that you can install both Yosemite and Mountain Lion on the same drive, and then boot into Mountain Lion when you need to work in CS5. Or you can take your Mountain Lion disc (I assume you have one, no?) and then use it to create a virtual machine in something like VirtualBox to run Mountain Lion from inside Yosemite.

  • Where can I buy a wall charger for a third generation iPod Touch?

Does anyone know where I can buy a wall charger for a third generation iPod Touch?  I am giving this iPod to my father because I want to buy myself a fifth generation iPod Touch for my birthday.  Could I just get an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 or 4S wall charger and use that?  I used my brother's iPhone 3GS wall charger, when I was visiting him out of state, and it worked just fine.

Any wall charger with a USB port will work. You can go to Target or BestBuy and other places too. An iPhone charger is fine.
