No chevron!

Hi There,
I am trying to load my new nano, chose "manual" loading, but I'm not seeing a chevron next to "my Ipod" in Itunes and can't see what I've loaded onto the nano. I click and dragged a few songs and can see and play them on the nano when I eject it from my pc. When I reconnect to my pc, my ipod shows in Itunes, but only with the eject button to the right - there's no chevron to the left. In the larger window I see "Ipod + Itunes" and a link to the support page.
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!

Have you tried resetting it whilst it's connected to iTunes?
How to reset the iPod.
Been through these also?
The Five Rs.
And last question, why have you started a new topic about this when you already have one going?

  • Achieving chevron-like distortion of font (a la WordArt)?

    Sorry if this is fairly easy to do... I'm relatively new to Illustrator and I haven't been able to find a forum thread or video tutorial or anything on Google based on my search criteria in several weeks of searching.
    I'm trying to figure out how to take a block of text and distort it in such a way that the left half of the word slants at a straight angle upward, and the right half of the word slants at a straight angle downward. Not curved or wavy. In WordArt for Microsoft Office, this can be achieved via the "chevron" shape. However, the person I'm doing this for wants the text manipulated such that the letter A (which is in the middle of the 5 letter word) is perfectly centered despite "Impact" not being a monospaced font, and WordArt doesn't allow for such customization. I suggested Illustrator, since the shirt screen printers prefer it anyway.
    I've been searching online, experimenting on my own, and I can't figure out how to do this chevron shape. Granted, I'm fairly inexperienced with Illustrator, but is what I'm trying to do possible? Any tips?
    While I'm here, I might as well also ask about a second type of distortion that's in the design that I'll need to recreate in Illustrator. It seems to be another WordArt perspective thing... basically the word is taller on one end and shorter on the other end, AND the shorter end is slanted up so that it's even higher than the top of the tall letter. Is there a way to do this on Illustrator?

    Sure, it works. Make the mesh with one row and two columns, then with the Direct Selection Tool drag a marquee around the two anchor points at one end. Select the Shear Tool, click at the bottom center of the text, then shift-drag the selected end straight down. Drag a horizontal guide from the top ruler (View>Show Rulers) to the bottom anchor point, then repeat the process at the other end, shift-dragging that end until the bottom anchor point meets the guide. Direct select anchor points and adjust the handles. If you put a vertical guide through each handle and make sure it stays on that line, your letters will stay straight.
    If you don't want the middle letter to bend in the center, click on the Mesh Tool in the Tool Panel, and with it click once on each side of that letter on either the top or bottom line of the existing mesh. Then select the end anchors, then click with the Shear Tool on the point where the new mesh line meets the bottom line. Repeat on the other side, then adjust the handles. You may need to use the Convert Anchor Point tool (Shift-C) to make the handles at each anchor point independent. It's pretty quick once you try it a time or two, and it's fun to experiment.
    I've partially adjusted these so that (I hope) you can see what's going on.

    In the upper example I accidentally added an extra mesh line. Please ignore it.

  • How much should I pay to Chevron Card to get a good score bump?

    Hi there, This is my first post in my journey. I currently only have a Chevron Card reporting. My limit is 2300 and I have a 1500 balance. How much should I pay off to see the best and fastest increase in score?

How much should I pay off to see the best and fastest increase in score? Optimally you should pay it down to between 1-10%, so up to $230 reporting balance.  At worst you should probably have it below 30% or around $690 in this case. I know you're not asking for this advice, but it's pretty crazy to carry a balance on a gas card.  The rates on those things are usually super high.  Just a friendly suggestion, but try to control you spending on your gas card before getting yourself a general use card like a Visa/MC because you could get into way more trouble if you're able to spend everywhere.  I know many people would have appreciated such advice at some time in their credit past.

  • Where is the chevron to the left of my bookmark folder?

    In OSX 10.9.2
    Safari 7.0.2 (9537.74.9)
    I am trying to create a sub folder in bookmarks and the new folder always gets created at the bottom of the full list as
    "untitled folder". I have read elsewhere that there should be a chevron to the left of my folders on which I could click and have the new sub folder created within. However, there are no chevrons to the left of my existing folders.
    How do I get the chevrons to show or, failing that, how do I create a sub-folder within an existing folder?
    Many thanks in advance

    Launch Safari.    Click Bookmarks in the Safari menu bar.   Select "Edit Bookmarks".
    Bookmark folders with chevrons beside should show up.
    Click the disclosure triangle-chevron- to open the desired main folder.
    Click the "New Folder" button at left bottom of the page.
    New sub "untitled folder" will be created in the Folder. Highlight it and rename it.
    Best.

  • Can't get full menu bar only get chevron

    I installed PSE7 and removed PSE6. When I load the Organizer, instead of the full menu bar (File/Edit/Find/View/Window/Help) all I get is a sideway chevron. I can click onthe chevron and get a dropdown of the menu but how can I get the full menu to show onthe menu bar? In the Editor, the menu bar shows fine.

    To add to Barbara's perspective: More and more computers are shipping with high-resolution/small dot-pitch displays with the DPI (dots per inch) preconfigured to 120, and dropping the DPI to 96 makes other applications pretty hard to read.  Combined with their insistence on using low-contrast grey elements in the user interface, PSE can be tough to use by those of us with aging eyes.
    Microsoft's user-interface guidelines specify that programs should support DPI's of 96 and 120:
    http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showpost.php?p=375024&postcount=11
    Microsoft doesn't enforce those guidelines, of course, and software vendors are free to annoy their paying customers in whatever way they want.

  • How do I control the state of folder chevrons when a volume is mounted?

    When my users mount a server, they inherit the chevron settings of a previous user.  Sometimes that previous setting has a chevron turned down on a big folder.  That results in long mount times over Internet connections.  It is also confusing to the users to have the server view change on mount from day to day as other people change the configuration.
    Does anyone know how to control the chervon settitngs of folders on a mounted server?
    Rob

    You may find it useful to just disable .DS_Store files all together for network volumes.
    You can run this command on the client machines to tell them not to write .DS_Store files on a network volume.
    defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores true
    You could then find and remove all .DS_Store files on the network volume you are sharing out.
    find /Volumes/Shares/YourSharePoint -name .DS_Store -exec rm {} \;

  • CONTEXT index vs a CTXCAT index

    I'm puzzled as to which of these indexes is meant for what purpose. I like the auto-update feature of the CTXCAT index, so I'm leaning that direction.
    Here's our situation. We have a table with about 2 million rows, where there's an EMPLOYER_NAME field. Users are constantly executing queries like:
    where EMPLOYER_NAME like '%CHEVRON%'The CTXCAT index is also described as "Typically, with this index type, you index small documents or text fragments". I would consider this EMPLOYER_NAME column (VARCHAR2(50)) to fit this description, more or less.
    The main thing that has me confused is that our vendor is pushing for a CONTEXT index, as they've got experience setting these up. We're not storing "text consists of large coherent documents.", but we are storing plain text.
    Could someone offer some guidance? Thanks for your help,
    --=Chuck

    Depends on whether the words are predictable. You indicated in your first post they are employer names. If they are then presumably there is a table/list of valid values. Otherwise a CTX index may be your best shot but understand that you will be indexing every word and, I assume, most will be irrelevant.

  • Delete songs from itunes library

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me how to delete songs from the itunes library?
    The DELETE option is greyed out on the edit tab.
    Many thanks,
    Pete

    Do you want to delete from iTunes or delete from the iPod? To delete from iTunes, click on the song in your library that you want to remove and press the delete key on your keyboard. To select multiple items such as all the songs in an album, click on the first track in the list hold down the shift key and click on the last track to highlight the selection. Then press the delete key.
    How you delete content from your iPod depends how you have it set to update:
    If you are updating automatically (syncing) all songs and playlists then delete the files from the iTunes library. In the iTunes Library highlight the file and press the delete key on your keyboard. If you're updating the iPod from a selected playlist delete the song from the playlist and it will remain in the library. Next time you connect they will deleted automatically from your iPod.
    If you are updating manually, connect your iPod and when it shows in the iTunes 7 source list click on the chevron (the little triangle) to the left of the iPod icon This will display the various icons for the iPod itself, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Playlists. Click on Music and you'll see the usual song list. Find the files on your iPod that you want to remove, highlight them and delete directly as above by pressing the delete key on your keyboard.
    To select multiple items such as all the songs in an album, follow the instructions above for deleting from iTunes only delete from the iPod song list instead..
    To summarise, you start by highlighting the song/video/selection in either the iTunes library or on the iPod song list as displayed in iTunes then press the delete key on your keyboard: Deleting songs or playlists from your iPod

  • My hyperlinks have gone awry

    Help, my hyperlinks have done their own thing. I want all my hyperlinks to be blue as a:link. I defined my links in my external style sheet to be blue; however, when I visted my page in chrome or on my mobile phone some of my links are blue and the rest are purple. In chrome on the desktop, the "home" link in the navigation is blue and the rest of the links in the navigation are purple lol. This looks terrible to me and I'm sure others? How can I force each link to be blue, can I add a bit of code to the <a href ....> tad at every link to force each one blue? I have attached my source code and my external style sheet below. Please help me get this fixed. I've had this problem in previous designs as well. I know dreamweaver can be  buggy but there is usually a way around using the code. Thanks to all who help:

    <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">Hi Michael….Since starting this diet in April, I have lost 25 pounds!!! I love this diet…I eat plenty and have found</p>
    <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">many delicious recipes to sustain me. I eat an apple a day (along with a wide variety of other fruits) and have found that I actually crave the apple, I went to the fridge yesterday and found no apples in the fruit drawer, so I jumped in my car and headed straight for the local fruit stand to replenish my stock. ( like a smoker does for cigarettes) It&rsquo;s nice to know the many benefits I am getting with something I&rsquo;ve come to really enjoy!</p>
    <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;"> I have 5 pounds to go to accomplish my weight goal….once there, I may set a new one…just for fun!

      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">Hi Mike
    I just thought you might be interested on an update…
    I loved the 2-week phase diet so much that I had my 16-year-old daughter run through it once school let out. In 2 weeks, she dropped 24 pounds (including a significant amount of bloating around her midsection) and is under 200 pounds for the first time in years. She now has a waistline. Even more significantly, when she first started, she complained that the food was tasteless. That disappeared within a couple of days and my junk food-loving teen was able to appreciate the taste of fresh produce again. All the chemicals she was pumping into her body had so significantly altered her taste buds that she couldn&rsquo;t even taste real food until she&rsquo;d been able to cleanse her palate for a couple of days. Today was her first day off the meat-free diet and she really wanted a piece of marzipan (her favorite treat) and a bit of naan. Both repelled her when she tried to eat them. She complained that they tasted like chemicals! In fact, she ran to the fridge and piled a bunch of fresh veggies on plate to drown the awful taste of what used to be some of her favorite comfort foods.</p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">Here&rsquo;s the best part…she&rsquo;d suffered from debilitating migraines on a DAILY basis. They were so bad that she missed a significant amount of school over the past few years. She has not had a migraine since the second day of the meat-free diet.
        As for me, I&rsquo;ve noticed significant changes too. I used to have to take 3 pain relief pills to even begin to combat the headaches I&rsquo;d get from working at my computer. Now, even a half dose (1 Advil) will do the trick if I even need it. But most of all, I appreciate the closer bond this process has forged between me and my daughter. Although we&rsquo;ve always been extremely close, she resented my being a personal trainer and was loathe to follow any of my professional advice. That was the one area where we could never see eye-to-eye. But between going through this nutritional change and the talking we did on our hour-long daily walks together, she&rsquo;s found a new interest in living a healthy lifestyle. As a trainer, I am inspired by the benefits of your program. As a parent, I&rsquo;ll be forever grateful to you because Fat Loss Factor is showing my daughter that she can, indeed, succeed at making positive changes to her body and her health that will last a lifetime!</p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">Now, we&rsquo;re really eager to start exercising together. (I&rsquo;m taking your advice and skipping the lemonade detox, and I&rsquo;m reluctant to have my daughter do it considering her age and health history)
        Thanks again! You&rsquo;re a true guru in my book!</p>

      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 22px;"> </p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">LOL Michael, </p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">I actually have hypothyroidism and take medicine everyday but do not use it as an excuse for being overweight. I am overweight because I made bad decisions about food and did not exercise properly. </p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">Since starting your program I feel better and have gone down one size in clothing. Sure, there were a few modifications to ease into these changes. After all I am in my late 50s and have been out of shape for a long time. There has been a little cheating but not much. I am sticking with this and will tighten the reins more and more as time goes by.</p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">By saying that I FEEL better means exactly that. I get better sleep. My joints more freer. I breath easier without so much abdominal pressure pushing up on my diaphram. It never occured to me flushing my system would make me feel so great. This ha such a positive effect on my attitude also.</p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">I recently tried the Flat Belly Diet. It had me eating every 4 hours and a MUFA with each meal. Yes there are 'good' fats but MUFAs are still fats. I was eating twice as much foods as before and about 10 times for fat then before. I gained weight and was demoralized. </p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">I watched your video many times over a period of several months before finally deciding to try your program. Within a week I noticed a tremendous difference. Flushing out the toxins from my body has made me convinced you have me going in the right direction. </p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">I am slowly trimming up. My whole attitude has changed. I FEEL better and am not starving myself or obessing over food. my appetite has decreased. It's that simple.</p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">Thank you for helping me change for the better. </p>

              font-family: permanent-marker;
              font-size: 23px;
              font-style: normal;
              font-weight: 400;
    .title {
              font-family: "Myriad Pro";
              font-size: 19px;
              font-weight: bold;
    p {
              font-family: "Myriad Pro";
              font-size: 19px;
              text-align: center;
    a:link {color:#00F;
    h3 {
              font-family: "Myriad Pro";
              font-size: 19px;
              text-align: center;
    Thanks so much, as above you can see I defined a:link {color: blue;}

    In CSS, there are five states for links
    a:link
    a:visited
    a:hover
    a:active
    a:focus
    a:link (=unvisited, or never clicked)
    a:visited (=clicked at least once)
    a:visited is purple in most browsers by default.
    Thus, you need to define a:visited in your CSS and it should come after a:link (otherwise you'll never see it)
    One solution would be:
    a:link, a:visited {
              color: #00F;
    but bear in mind that visitors find it handy if a:visited is a different color to a:link so they know which links they've already clicked on.
    a:link {
              color: #00F;
    a:visIted {
              color: #SOME OTHER COLOR TO A:LINK;
    a:hover {
              color: #F00;

  • How can i install a windows version 8 on a 3 year old iMac 27 (only windows and nothing else not via bootcamp = result shut be a clean iMac with windows - no

    When i now had recieve a brand new 27" imac, i had a 3 year old model 27" imac which my daugter want to have BUT i should be as a clean Windows thing -
    so how to change the computer to a clean windows 8 computer with no apple programs in and no Maverick or other lovely programs?
    I had seen on the net that a lot of peoble had windows with bootcamp - i am not a computer tecnician and when i try - i end op with a machine with could nothing - no mac programs - no office pack - no adobe programs - so i had to start op again with a new harddisk.
    Some of the problem is that i dont understand the thing which bin told when you go to bootcamp for a user of mac's since the model was the "classic" and we make newspapers on them - so i want and easy way to have and mac computer for my self (the new one) and let my daugter have a beutiful imac with windows on.
    dont begin talking about parrelles i had try that, results it had a windows 7 which cant be updated, apple dont support that and microsoft doesnt  so - help me
    regards
    Chevron B50

    If you don't want Boot Camp and you don't want a virtual machine, go buy a Windows computer.
    Both Boot Camped Windows and Windows running in a virtual machine work well. Your issues are because of your lack of knowledge or understanding, not because Boot Camp and virtual machines are poor products. Universities, large and small businesses, home users, etc. use virtual machines to run their operating systems.
    Your statements about Boot Camp and Parallels are not the experience of thousands of users.
    Either find someone who is knowledgeable about running Windows on Apple computers to help you or buy a Windows computer. Believe me, if you find a way to install only Windows on your Apple computer without using Boot Camp or a virtual machine you will have more problems than what you have already experienced.

  • Can't see files on my Vision:M in Mediasou

    In Mediasource (it is fully updated) if I navigate to Vision:M-->Music I can see my album folders, if I click on these folders the majority of them appear empty. I see no tracks. I know this music is on my player since I listen to it all the time.
    Anyone know what this is about? I find it really annoying since I would like to update my tags on some of the tracks, but I can't. I updated them all in my PC music library thinking it would carry through, but it doesn't transfer over to the Vision:M. I used to have a Nomad Zen Xtra, and never had this problem. Is it mediasource or the Vision:M?
    I relaize I could reformat the Vision:M and resync with all my new tags, but it seems like a whole lot of effort. If I could just see the music trakcs on my Vision:M it would be so much easier.

    Click on the chevron (the little triangle) to the left of the iPod icon This will display the various icons for the iPod itself, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Playlists. Click on Music and you'll see the traditional song view.

  • Web page not loading correctly in CHROME

    Hey y'all...I work at an elementary school in Sugar Hill, GA...our website is www.sugarhilles.org\home.htm.  We used DWMX...(very old version)....anyway, the CSS code I created works great in IE, but not in CHROME.  Hopefully, someone can help me.  Thanks in advance.
    Here is the code from the "home.htm" main page  and imagine there's tons of errors and redundancies in it.

      <p align="left"> Dear Sugar Hill families,<br /><br />
     It is hard to believe that the school year is almost over. It has  been a wonderful year and an honor and a privilege to work
     with the  families of Sugar Hill.  Thank you for your dedication to our school and to your child's education.  A special thank you
    also goes to this year's PTA Officers: Courtney Reasons, Jennifer Pettirossi, Lorie Trevino, Robin Kerr, and Megan Pack for their service,
    time, and commitment to our school.<br /><br />I hope that you will join us for our final school wide event of the year. Our 4th annual K-5 Science
    Fair and PTA meeting will be held on Thursday, May 8th, at 6pm. Sugar Hill scientists have been hard at work! We will begin the evening
    in the cafeteria and then move to the Media Center. <br /><br />We are already excited and looking forward to the 2014-2015 school year.
    Enjoy the last few weeks of school and your summer, and know that I am always just a phone call or email away.<br /><br />
    Proud to be your principal,<br />

  • Deleting songs on ipod that playlist no longer exist in itunes

    I share the itunes with my son and we use to use the auto sync function. I figured out how to manually sync but deleted my original play list some how in between. Now I have playlist on my ipod that is not in itunes. I can drop song into my play list but I cannot figure out how to delete the song no longer wanted on my ipod since I no longer have playlist in itunes....please help.

    If you are updating manually, connect your iPod and when it shows in the iTunes 7 source list click on the chevron (the little triangle) to the left of the iPod icon This will display the various icons for the iPod itself, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Playlists. Click on Music and you'll see the traditional song view. Find the files on your iPod that you want to remove, highlight them and either press the delete key on your keyboard or or right click and choose Delete.
