No "Close/Reply" Option Anymore for SMS After 2.2

On 2.1, whenever I would receive a text message when my phone was off, the message would "wake" the phone, display the message, then provide and option to "close/reply". This was a very nice feature.
Now that I have upgraded to 2.2, I've noticed that the "close/reply" option no longer appears. I've tried looking for a feature that may have gotten reset since the update, but no luck.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, any solutions?

I don't remember a "close/reply" option ever being available. Even if it was, does it really matter if you have it or not? Simply slide the bar on the bottom when you see the message and the phone opens up for you to respond to it. Just leave the phone alone and it will go back to sleep within a few seconds. Want it to go to sleep immediately? Just click the sleep/wake button. It's that simple.

Portrait Mode for SmS after PR 1.2 !

I have seen some people mentioning here, that even after PR 1.2 portrait mode is not there especially for SmS? Any confirmation ?

It's useless anyway when you have a physical keyboard. You can have portrait mode but as soon as you open a conversation it goes back to tablet mode.

I don't see an option anymore for backing up my music library to a disc?

Does anyone know if we can still backup my music library to a disc? If not, what happens if the computer crashes?

That option has been gone for a while. At least a year, maybe more. And good riddance, it never worked correctly - oh, it would back up OK. But when folks went to restore, all they got were error messages. A backup that can't be restored is useless!
Back up to an external hard drive or memory stick, depending on how many bytes of storage you need.

No Reply option available for Meeting Invite from Lotus Notes

Upgraded to a 8310 and now my Lotus Notes Calendar appointments don't synch properly and all meeting invites are treated as emails. So no Reply or Decline function.
Has anyone experienced this? Have searched the web and no results.
My local IT want to wipe my phone and start again. I just got it the way I like it!

Is your Notes email integrated to your BB via BES? If so, then your BES admins really are in complete control of it. But, perhaps this will help them?

Are there options left for restarting after getting only gray screen?

I have an iBook G3 Dual USB with 12.5 inch screen, using 10.3.9 - after freezing up and forced shutdown I only get a gray screen on start up. It won't start in Safe Mode, it won't start using fsck. If I start from install disk I get the gray screen with the apple and the spinning gear - forever! If I start and press the option key I get the blue screen with the two arrows but no disks show, and the little watch just keeps spinning. Is my hard disk fried? Is there nothing else to try except the repair shop? Can I connect by Graphite Firewire via ethernet and try accessing it's disk utility? I only have 9.2.2 on it. Thanks.

I went through a similar situation after installing the recent 2007-004 security update. Check out the long and growing problems report thread under "Panther Security Update 2007-004". If you just did this update, it may be the source of your problems. In spite of all of the other suggestions, reinstalling (using archive and install, maintain system settings), then doing all but the 004 update, did the trick.

How do i get the "open with" option back for pdfs after accidentally hitting the save option which now automatically saves any pdf?

Normally when I click on a pdf I would get an option to "Open With" or Save. I usually just opened pdfs first. I accidentally clicked on the Save option in this dialog box and now when I click on any pdf it automatically asks me where I want to save it. I want to get the "open With" option back, because I don't necessarily want to save a copy of every pdf.

Mountain Lion was released in 2012, so I suppose there might be advice in old threads or on the Apple forums if you don't get a response here right away.

How come I cannot use my tv speakers anymore for airplay since the new apple tv update?!?

I don't understand why my own tv speakers do not come up as an option anymore for Airplay. Can someone please help me?
My computer sends to my tv fine as it always has, but now when I try any sound it is only coming through my mac speakers. Did apple seriously get rid of the fact that you can use your tv speakers?? Why would I send something to my tv if I didn't want to have the option to use it's speakers?

These commands from the Terminal worked for me -
1. Open Terminal in /Applications/Utilities.
2. Run these commands respectively:
sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/APExtFramebuffer.kext
sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AirParrotDriver.kext
sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/APExtFramebuffer.kext
sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/AirParrotDriver.kext
I found it on Intenret. I had AirParrot Intalled before.

Blackberry 8310 not showing reply or send in sms text options menu

I have a blackberry 8310. iam able to recieve sms text messages but when i click to on options, there is no "reply" option in the menu for me to be able to reply to the text. The chip works fine in other phones so that tells me something in the phone is not set right. There is no option for me to even compose and fresh sms text message. Please help?

Here ya' go:
1. Get a good backup of your device: BB device backup (I keep all my backups in a separate folder created for that purpose so they are always in one place and easy to find.)
2. Download the most recent version of device software for your carrier: Downloading BB device software
3. Reinstall the device software: Clean reload of device software
4. Pull the battery out with the device ON. Wait about a minute and put the battery back in. Let the BB completely restart.
5. Once you have the device OS successfully installed you will then need to reinstall any 3rd party apps you currently have on your device: Install applications using the app loader tool
6. Complete another battery pull routine after each 3rd party app installation to reclaim memory and refresh your BB.

How did you create the account ? If you followed the instructions on this page when creating it then you should have got the 'none' option : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
e.g. on a computer's iTunes, if currently signed into an account then you logged out of it, and you then found a free app in the store and clicked on its free 'price' :

When I tried that process to create an account a few days ago I got the 'none' option on the payment details screen.
If you didn't use that process then you will need to create a new account using it (the instructions won't work with an existing account).

For one thing you forgot to mention the version of Photoshop you use.
Did you place the image as a Smart Object? Liquify got Smart-capabilities with Photoshop CC.

If you backed up to your computer recently (should do this automatically when you sync, unless you disabled it), then you can restore the backup. Not really worth it, unless you've got a show stopper SMS message.

Empty SMS after iOS6 update

Hello.
Today updated to iOS6 and now when I open an sms witch has been sent, for example, from internet web app or skype (message sender appears as my skype name), it shows empty sms. However, in message list I can see a little bit of the content. After opening this "empty" sms and returning to index - it doesnt show that SMS anymore. I've to hard-close messages app and re-open it to see it again.
Took few screenshots:
Step 1, sms index. This Xnet sms has come form internet web app:
Step 2., when I open it.. shows empty sms, no previous content, nothing at all.. empty
Step 3 when I return to message index, the "Xnet" message is not there anymore.. but after hard-close and re-open, everything starts again like in the first step.
Ideas?

Yeah, Same here.Messages from Bank,Carrier go blank when opened,and disappear from the messages list.When messages app is closed from taskbar and relaunched,they are back in the list,but the same thing happens again.There is only ONE exception where one of My Banks SMS seems to show the message and stays in the list.This is erratic behaviour.Hope it is fixed ASAP.
