No cog in iWork on iCloud..

I have no cog icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen in iWork on iCloud, and therefore no way to upload documents. Drag and drop appears to not be working also.... I have iCloud switched on, and the documents and data box ticked... anyone had a similar issue? Thanks.

I have also been very frustrated with this problem. iCloud works great between the iphone and iPad. Photostream works between these two and the Mac. However, I cannot drag and drop any iWork file to icloud.com/iwork and when I go to icloud.com/iwork all I get is the screen to buy the apps. I have all the apps, all are turned on, but iWord drag and drop does not work, nor does any new file created on the Mac can I drag and drop. Any help would be appreciated as I have searched the forums and no answer is forthcoming.

Tap and hold a file. When it starts to shake, drag it on top of another file. This will create your folder. By the way, you can't create any nested folders (folders inside of folders).

You don't need to access iCloud Drive on the iPad because everything that is in iCloud Drive is already on the iPad. iCloud Drive keeps your documents in sync across devices and it can be accessed using a web browser on a computer in iCloud.com. However, as I already stated, there is no need to access iCloud.com on the iPad since everything in iCloud is on the iPad.
If you insist on trying, identify Safari or any other browser that you have on the iPad as a desktop browser and then you will be able to get into iCloud.com. If your experience is anything like my experience using iCloud,com on the iPad, you will have mixed results at best. I suggest that you just use Pages, Numbers or Keynote on the iPad since those same documents are also in iCloud Drive.
You can set Safari as a desktop browser by tapping in the url field and then pull down on the favorites screen to get to Request Desktop Site.

Is there a french spellcheck in iWork for iCloud?

i think everything is in the question. I work alot in iWork for icloud and that bug me. I wonder if there any plan to add language in spellcheck or maybe have a french iWork for icloud.

You can use the built-in spellchecker (correcteur orthographique) in iPad but first you need to set your iPad to French or to use a built-in French keypad in your apps.
This is how you do it:
Method 1: change to International
Tap Settings on your iPad;
Tap General in the left column;
Tap International on the right;
Tap Language, select Français from the popup and tap Done;
Wait a little while: iPad will show "Changement de langue..."; it will take about 1 minute. Your iPad is now in "French";
As you type in French the spellchecker will automatically prompt you for the correct word; for example, if you type "voila une bete degoutante", it will prompt you to "voilà une bête dégoutante". All you do is press the Spacebar every time it prompts you for the correct word. If the word is incorrect, it will be underlined with a dotted red line.
Method 2: change to a French keyboard
Tap Settings on iPad;
Tap General;
Tap Keyboard on the right;
In the middle of the page on the right, you will see Keyboards again, tap it;
Tap on Add New Keyboard...;
Tap French (you can chose between 3 keyboards, Canada, French or Switzerland) to add any of the 3 keyboards;
If you wish to have a "French keyboard" on the iPad, you will have to select it by tapping French and tap the right software keyboard, AZERTY, Accented AZERTY or QWERTY (for the French keyboard);
When you type in Pages or Numbers, tap on the Globe to the left of the Spacebar to select the French keyboard (Français) and, as you type, it will correct the words as previously stated. By tapping repeatedly on the Globe key, you can toggle between the different keyboards you have installed.

Yes. One way is to download the Word documents and drop them into your Pages for iCloud window (the one where all your files are shown and not a blank word processing page).

No, they are different apps. The beta one in icloud is for use by PC's as well as Mac's via a web browser and lets users collaborate on documents. It can't removed. Just ignore it if you have no use for it.

No Pages 'Save as' dialogue in iWork for ICloud beta.

I have successfully created some Pages files in the iWork for ICloud beta. I have not saved them i.e., named the files as you do in Pages for iMac (Edit>Save). They appear as Blank 1, Blank 2, Blank 3 etc., in the Safari browser's tabs.
I know I can rename files in iCloud's 'My Document' web page. I also know iCloud will continue to track and save changes to these files.
I am a regular Pages on iMac user but cannot see where I can name the Pages file in the iCloud Beta version in the first place.

I received an invitation to try iworks on iCloud Beta but when I follow the directions and try to open an iWork app like Keynote in iCloud Beta, a message says I need a Developer's account. If I try to use iWorks on iCloud, I am asked to pay for it. Please advise. Thanks.

The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
The former does as provided - it transfers the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the iPhone replacing all data on the iPhone that is included with the backup being transferred. The latter does nothing allowing you to make your various selections for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone.

Lion will only let you add documents to iCloud through iCloud.com, iCloud.com requires the iOS apps before you can use it.
Mountain Lion will let you add documents to iCloud from the iWork apps themselves, you don't then need the iOS apps before they can be opened on another Mac.

How to access iWork on iCloud?

I tried to access several times this evening after receiving an email invitation. www.icloud.com instructs me to set up iCloud on this device. This iPad mini was set up as a recover from iCloud. I cannot move beyond this page telling me to set up. Safari is the same deal. I reset the iPad.
What do I do? This iPad mini is the only Apple product that makes me think of getting the big hammer.

You need the iOS iWork applications installed on your iOS device to access iWork at icloud.com. Do you have those apps?
You also need to be signed in to iCloud on your iOS device. Have you done that?

You can't delete the iWork beta apps that appear on icloud.com, if that's what you're asking. If you want to delete iWork documents from iCloud, just delete them within you iWork apps. If you want to stop using iCloud with iWork on your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Options next to Documents & Data, then uncheck your iWork apps.

Psroblems uploading spreadsheet to iWork under iCloud.

Today I received notifocation from Apple that iwork.com (beta) will be discontinnued.
I deleted by spreadsheets in iwork.com (beta) and then logged onto icloud to upload them to iwork within icloud.
The documentation says that iwork will accept xls (Excel) and numbers files. This file is from Microsoft Office for Mac.
One of the xls spreadsheets went up just fine but a second file failed. The only error I received was: "There was a problem uploading your file. Please try again". Microsoft style error with no information..!!
I converted the xls to a numbers file and it was then uploaded Ok.
Soooo... Apple, you have a problem accepting xls spreadsheets whether you know it or not.
No, I don't want to have to constantly convert files from one format to another expecially when the documentation states that Excel xls formats are Ok.

When I see "supported" it means that an xls can be uploaded. Supported means we will accept and deal with xls. or numbers.
I have two Excel spreadsheets. One uploaded just fine, the other did not so I take from that, an xls can be uploaded. Further when an xls is uploaded iwork brands it with an "E" indicating it is an Excel spreadsheet. When a numbers spreadsheet is upload it is branded with a numbers icon. Further evidence both are acceptable.
Here I quote from Apple's icloud documentation: "You can also drag an iWork ’09 (Keynote, Pages, and Numbers) or Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) document created on your computer to icloud.com/iwork."
If whomever wrote the code would add proper error messaging rather "There was a problem uploading your file. Please try again" I would be able to determine if there is an acceptance issue.

IWorks and icloud

I have been syncing my iWork's documents (Numbers and Pages) between my iPhone, iPad and Mac Pro for a quite a while and it has worked great until now. If I edited my existing documents on one of my iOS devices it works fine and if I go to iCloud.com it is updated. However, my MacPro running Yosemite seems to be keeping its own copy of the same files locally. It never opens or saves the documents from iCloud, even though it is all turned on in preferences. I have to believe I'm doing something wrong. This can't just be completely broken on Yosemite. Any advice? Thanks,

Yes, ios 8 on my iPhone and iPad. Everything on iCloud Drive. ios devices work correctly. My mac doesnt work. I had chat with apple support and we turned icloud off on Mac and back on. Took over an hour but it finally synced files from iCloud Drive. Seems to work now but I did this before and it stopped working again. We will see if this works better this time.
