No Color at all!

Installed the latest version of the Final Cut Suite on my MacBook Pro,
but Color wouldn't install at all.
Not a trace of it. Anyone knows why?
Thanx in advance.
Fabrizio.

Does your MacBook Pro meet the minimum specs for Color?

The background color in all of my screens has switched to pink. How do I get it back to white? I wonder if it changed when I was shopping in a web site and had clicked on a pink watch(?)

    Check the default color settings:

  • Windows Vista 64 bit and HP 2840 Color LaserJet All-In-One - Workaround

Although HP has not provided a workable solution for a use of a HP 2840 Color LaserJet All-In-One with Windows Vista 64 bit, I did manage to get it to work. The solution is a bit convoluted and may not work for all users but here’s how I did it. I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bit. Not sure how other Vista versions may behave.
I tried many different solutions that did not work. Attempting to install many different versions of the HP 2840 software in different compatibility modes ended up rendering my other HP 4385 All-In-One inoperative.  I deleted every piece of HP software and hardware from my system and reinstalling the HP 4385 software. Still couldn’t get my 4385 working again. I finally ended up restoring my system to restore point prior to attempting to install the HP 2840. All this to say that if you’ve made several attempts to get it working you may need to back up and punt with a restore.
Make sure your HP 2840 is NOT connected.
Press the “Scan” button on the 2840 (The control panel on the 2840 should say ‘Waiting on PC”).
Plug the HP 2840 in via a USB cable. A “New hardware” message should pop up on the PC.
Minimize this window. DO NOT MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO INSTALL DRIVERS. Just ignore this message for the moment.
In Windows, go to CONTROL PANEL/SCANNERS AND CAMERAS. Hopefully you’ll see a “HP 2840 LaserJet Scanner”. If not, the rest will probably not work.
Now hit the "Windows Start" button. Select "Programs" or "All Programs" (depending on your setup configuration). Open "Windows Fax Scan". It should connect to the 2840 Scanner. Experiment with the scanner and select flatbed and feeder input  to make sure it functions properly. Once satisfied that the scanner is working properly you can configure the printer.
On the “New Hardware Detected” window that you minimized in step 4, select “Do Not Ask Me Again For This Hardware”.
Connect the 2840 to your network via a CAT cable.
On your PC press the "Windows Start" button and select “Settings and Printers”.
    Select “Add a Printer”.
    Select “Add a Network Printer”.
Windows will scan your network searching for printers. It should find your 2840.
Select “Next” (It is not necessary to let the search complete once your 2840 has been identified).
From the dropdown list, select ‘HP” and “HP Universal Printing PCL 6". It was the last one in the list for me.
    Print a test page
You should now have a HP 2840 network printer and a local 2840 scanner.
O course the drawback is that you can only scan to the PC where the 2840 scanner is attached via the USB cable. You can print from any PC on your network by following steps 9 through 15 on each network PC.
Another little tidbit I ran into; selecting any other driver besides the “HP Universal Printing PCL 6" driver cause my Microsoft Office 2007 to crash any time I selected the "Save As" option. I found some links on the Internet that indicate this is a known problem. It may not affect you but you might want to play it safe.
    Hope this helps someone.

Uninstall the HP software using the uninistaller in the HP folder.
    Restart your PC.
Get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.

  • How do I change the color of all the text in a PDF?

    Hi.
I have a large PDF, over 1000 pages. Some of the text is highlighted which makes it difficult to see on my preferred document background. In Acrobat XI how do I change the color of all the text in the document back to black please? Although solutions using any other software will be much appreciated too.
I searched this forum already, and the same question was asked back in 2007 when it appears the only solution was to use an expensive third party plugin.
    Thanks.

I know of no new solutions since 2007 except the ones you found.
You could use the Accessibility Preferences > Change Document Colors to choose a text color. However, this is an individual preference and cannot be set as a default for others opening the document.

  • Change colors of all controls

Can I programmaticaly to change (to switch between two options) the color of ALL controls by some common command without dealing with property node of each control?
    Thank you,
    Boris

    Pnt,
Thank you. I tried it as in example with decorations: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5217.
But it looks that this option is not available for controls.

  • [SOLVED] how to invert colors in all windows

Hi. I've recently switched from lubuntu. In lubuntu I could invert the colors in all windows with customize look and feel configuration, but this does not happen in arch. Some applications don't invert their colors.
Could someone be so kind and explain me how to invert the color in all windows.
Last edited by johnx (2014-07-07 00:58:57)

Are you using KDE, johnx? It sounds like you're using LXDE.
In KDE, I don't think you can do it automatically for all windows without writing code. But you can do it on demand for individual windows or the desktop as a whole by enabling the Invert effect in Desktop Settings > Desktop effects > All effects. Then to invert a window, you use Ctrl+Meta-U. For the whole desktop, it's Ctrl-Meta-I. I use this all the time when working in Eclipse.
Why not just use a different theme with the colors you want?

  • Video images are garbled and colors are all run together

Just got a new computer and downloaded newest version of quicktime. I can't watch any videos/webcasts etc. The sound is fine and the video plays but the screen is "garbled" and the colors are all off/run together?
I can play a dvd fine
Dont know much about computers and Dell would not help me....any ideas?

I am having a similar problem and tried the same fix and it did not work for me either. In my case the video plays for a few seconds then get choppy but the audio is fine. Someone on this site suggested that my machine does not have enough to play the H.264 codec. I do have an older machine a compaq 1.20 GHz , 512 MB Ram running XP home sp2. It should be able to run a video. After all I am not on a 486 machine. I finally had to back out of the QT 7.1.6 and currently running QT 6.5.2. It works fine for me at least at this point. But of course now that means I cannot look at videos using the latest format.

  • Change colors to all components in a consistent way

Is there a way to change color to all components of an application (or of a JFrame), such as all JButtons backgrounds, JFrame backgrounds etc.?
I suppose i've to deal with UIManager defaults, but is there some facility, or some check-list to help achieve this task?.
    Thanks in advance

Check out my ComponentMapper class. You could do it with this by running the mapper on the contentpane (and potentially the JMenuBar too if you like)
You are welcome to use and modify this code but please don't change the package or take credit for it as your own work

  • Changing the hightlight color for all existing highlighted text

  • Set fill color of all words in list

I want to change the fill color of all words in a document from a provided list of terms.
For example, the following script works perfectly in Quark:
    set theIndexList to {"3rd Class", "4th class", "4th Class", "5th class", "5th Class", "7 lines of management/defense", "7 lines of management/defense", "7 Lines Of Management/Defense", "abalakov anchor", "Abalakov anchor", "Abalakov Anchor", "adze", "Adze", "Adze", "alpine rock", "Alpine rock", "Alpine Rock", "anchor", "Anchor", "Anchor"}
    tell application "QuarkXPress™ 4.11"
         tell document 1
             tell story 1
                 repeat with currentWord in theIndexList
                     try
set (the color of every text where it is currentWord) to "Green"
                     end try
                 end repeat
             end tell
         end tell
    end tell
The purpose of this script is to highlight words for later indexing. I need to read through the document, see words someone else has chosen for indexing, then add them selectively to the index.
    InDesign CS, Mac OSX 10.3.9

    >It's not a question of which program has more complex object model
Actually, it is largely. Search and replace in Quark relied on a combination of AppleScript whose clauses and a slightly odd definition of its text class. This made searches very simple, but it also meant they were restricted in what they could do. InDesign uses a more complex model, and exposes the full find/change engine; it's not as straight-forward, but it lets you do things that wouldn't be possible if they stuck to the whose clause approach.
In fact you can use whose clauses similarly in InDesign, with one catch: InDesign has a different definition of what constitutes text (there is only 1 text per story), so it will only work if you're looking for one of the classes like words, lines, text style ranges, etc.
I hesitate to rewrite the the js version in AS for CS because I don't have CS installed here. And there's an oddity involving color searches that makes it a bit more complicated than it should be. But it's very similar to the javascript.
    > Because this is an AppleScript forum
I'm not sure what gave that impression, but it's far from so.

  • Color space-creating a book in My publisher-.when I look at the share book pre print the colors are all dulled out. I work in pro photo rgb in LR and PS -.My Pub is sRGB-.where is the problem?

Color space…creating a book in My publisher….when I look at the share book pre print the colors are all dulled out. I work in pro photo rgb in LR and PS ….My Pub is sRGB….where is the problem?

I finally got to my references. This had to do with "soft proofing" on screen in Photoshop.
So this may not help you at all. Re: Strange sRGB soft-proofing behavior  So go ahead and leave that setting at Basic.
However there is a Color Management forum that you also go to and see if anyone has answers for your particular problem.
Here is the link: Color management

  • Spot colors Black, All have the same alternate color values

I'm not sure if CM was assigned to document when created or  afterwards. In Color Settings preferences is stated Fogra 39 (if it matters - document was meanwhile saved and opened...). Are there other options to assign workspace to exsisting document?
Peter, this is not the case. Placed image has embeded same color profile as is working space of document in ID. I tried the same with sRGB image placed in same ID document and compared it to PS but color shift (greenish) is present - it looks exactly the same.
Guys, I can't tell you how happy I am to have you help me with this terrible and nerve-wracking problem.

  • Leopard Terminal - No ANSI Colors at all?

I've done a lot of searching on Terminal colors in Leopard (updated to latest.) I keep coming across fixes to change your colors, but my issue is that my Terminal doesn't display any ANSI colors at all. Figured it out.
    "ls -G" does it (duh)
Don't remember doing this in Tiger, but perhaps I did.
    Added

    to make this automatic.
