No communication between FIOS Westell routers at different locations

I have CrashPlan running at home. It uses port 4242. I had 10 computers at multiple locations that were backing up to me when I was using cable. Some of the locations also had cable and some had FIOS.
Ever since I changed from cable to FIOS at home, none of the FIOS routers are talking to each other. All the cable folks are still backing up to me. But none of the FIOS routers are backing up to me now. All the FIOS routers are Westell A90-9100EM15-10.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may need to open port 4242 on the routers firewall. By default the Verizon firewall blocks the incoming "non standard" ports above 1024. So you may need to go in and do some port forwarding to open up the Verizon firewall. I'm not really very good at the port forwarding, if you need help with that, others here will be able to offer better advice on how to do that. But that would be my guess as to what is causing your problem.
Edit
Oops, just re-read your post. I didnt catch the point where you said the cable people could still communicate with you. In that case, the port forwarding may not be the issue.

  • Communication between applets that are in different frames

    Hi,
I have two applets in the same browser page but not in the same Frame, and I'm trying to invoke a method of one of the applets from the other. getApplet("NAME") does not work because both are in different frames.
I have managed to do the communication with a static method, but the invoked method doesn't have the correct variables values (also defined static), these variables have the default values (i.e. int = 0).
    My program:
Applet A --> loads the data and waits for Applet B's invocation.
    Later....
Applet B --> invokes an Applet A's static method, Applet A receives the data, Applet A is supossed to work correctly, but its data is not the previously loaded but the default values.
What am I doing wrong? Looking at this, it seems that the static method invoked is from a different class.
Has anyone any working example? Is there another way (not signing)?
    Thanks

You could do it using javascript. From what it looks like you are describing :
In Applet A's page, have a javascript function that looks like the following :
    function callAppletB()
         self.parent.frame[1].document.getElementById("insert applet b's id here").methodName();
}Then, in Applet B's page, make a similar function :
    function callAppletA()
         self.parent.frame[0].document.getElementById("insert applet a's id here").methodName();
}Just make sure that Applet A's page is the first frame on your frameset page. Hope this helped.

  • Communicating Between Multiple LabVIEW Executables on different computer using Shared Variables

    hi,
I need to develop some executables which will be launched on different computer of a LAN. Some DATA are common. I need to share the data using shared variables.
I usually used LabVIEW so I 'm familiar with shared variables but in this case, the RT target is a part of my
    project.
I do I need to procceed in my case?
    thanks

Ok but it's not my configuration and I haven't found my answer in the tutorial.
You speak of a case where there is a computer and a RT target under the same LabView project. As I said earlier, I often use labview RT and shared variable between computer and RT target. But I assume here it's different.
My question is : how do you acces to the SVE from 3 computers (without any RT target)?
    1. If I create 3 labview projects using the same Shared Variable, do I need to use the same .lvlib on each project?
    2. Is it possible?
    3. How can I configure where the SVE should be? When I use a RT target, It only depends where I put my Lvlib. But here there is 3 projects.

  • Communication between different JVMs

    Hallo,
is there a simple way, to exchange data between different java sessions? At the moment I store the needed data to a table and load it in my java procedures when ever I need them.
But because this data is temporary, it wouldn't really be necessary to store the data. It's just for communication between the different JVMs. Is there an other way to do this, too?
    Thanks, Christian

Christian, I may have misunderstood your question, but, until java version 1.4, the only way for different JVMs to communicate was via sockets, or secondary storage (the file system -- which includes databases).
In java version 5.0 (previously version 1.5), there is a new feature known as class data sharing.
But since you posted to the "Database >> JVM" forum, I can't help thinking that you are referring to different database JVMs. Is that correct? In any case, sockets and secondary storage are your only options there as well.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Communication between servers on different FIs

Just want to verify communication between UCS servers on same chassis but having active vNICs on different FIs (Diagram attached). I suppose all commuication between server-A & server-B will happen through Layer 2 switch as server-A will generate an ARP request for Server-B, that will be passed over to FI-A and then to L2 switch down to FI-B, where server-B will respond back with it's MAC that will then be passed to Server-A via FI-B to L2 switch to FI-A.I don't expect any traffic between servers A & B be routed via firewall? Is there anything I need to be careful about in this design? Going forward we will have multiple subinterfaces on the firewall for different VLANs and all servers will use Firewall as default gateway.

you may want to look at the throughput of your firewall for server-server traffic in different VLANs. If your L2 switch is 10G but your firewall is only 1G then you could have a potential bottle neck.

Reset the SMC, as per > Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
    3. Wait fifteen seconds.
    4. Attach the computer's power cord.
    5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
Then zap the PRAM/NVRAM as per > About NVRAM and PRAM
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    6. Release the keys.
    Then retry the Disc Drive.

  • Communication between the DNS/DHCP Manager and OES Server

No communication between the DNS/DHCP Manager Console and OES server (status, start, stop)
The screenshot shows the tab "DHCP (OES Linux)" in the DNS / DHCP Manager console
in the bottom of the image it shows the state of the DHCP servers.
    allDHCP.JPG
The dhcp service is started on all these servers
You can see that the status is known only for four servers.
The button "start/stop DHCP service" works fine on this servers and
the dhcp service can be canceled and also restarted
But the status of the "dhcp service" is not recognized for all the other DHCP servers
and so we can not start or stop dhcp service on these servers.
All servers were installed at different times (last three years) with OES11 and
are upgraded to OES11SP2 with all patches.
The server keto (DHCP_keto) is a new installation OES11SP2 few days ago.
All OES servers were set up identically from me. LDAP, LUM, DMS, DHCP works fine.
Which service on the OES server is responsible for
communication (status indicator) between the DNS/DHCP Manager and the OES serve?
How the status query is performed by the DNS/DHCP Manager?
How can I test the communication to the server on the client (console)?
Which configurationfiles I should be compare on the server?
    Thanks in advance

  • Communication between RAC instances

    2.Distributed Lock Manager (DLM)
    which one of is correct?

both of them are correct on different layers. The IP protocol used over the interconnect is udp and one of the protocols/mechanism implemented above that is DLM.

  • Communication between client and server

I am using sockets for communication between the client and the server. is there any other way that i can use for communication between the client and server???

Plenty of ways: JMS, SOAP, RMI, a RESTful API, writing-files-to-a-shared-directory-on-the-disk, Sneakernet, ...
Some of them use sockets (or better TCP/IP) as the underlying protocol.
But to give you a good answer, you would have to tell us why you want a different way. I hope you're not searching for a different way just for the sake of being different.

  • Communication between thread in the same process using file interface.

    Hi,
I am developing  driver and i need to communicate between two thread.
    >can anyone guide me on implementing communication between two thread in the same process using File Interface. First thread will be driver and second will be application.I need to send IOCTL like commands using File interface ie is WriteFile(),ReadFile()
from Host process to driver through file-interface(which run's in driver context).Host process should not be blocked for the duration of the driver to process the command.
    >File-interface will run in driver context and it will be responsible to receive command from application and pass it to the driver.
    what are the complexity introduced?
    >Can anyone also give me the link/reference to get more information on this topic?
    >How to replace IOCTL command's for instance baud _rate change command with a file interface for example with IRP.

    Here  is the detailed query:
Hardware Abstraction Layer will interact with Driver(Both will be running in complete different process) .there is a IOCTL for command and  File interface for read and write.
    My requirement is:
Both should run in the same process so HAL will run as one thread and driver as another thread in the same process .I don't want HAL to wait for completion of request and also i don't want driver to be blocked .
We are planning to use a File Interface for communication between Hardware abstraction layer and Driver
HAL will send the command or read/write operation to a file interface and driver will get the command or read/write request from the File interface
There is a flexibility to change Hardware Abstraction layer and also the Driver
Is it possible to use IOCTL between two thread under same process? if not what other options do we have.
Can we use File interface to  send command (like IOCTL) between two thread?

  • Communication between Netweaver and R/3 System

    Hi,
I'm trying out the Netweaver sneak preview for testing the capabilities of the pdk for .net. I've added the development R/3 system (4.6C) of our company to the system landscape of the portal.
Does the communication between those two systems require that there's a gateway installed on the R/3 system?
My SAP colleagues are not so experienced with connecting different SAP systems. Where can I find the necessary settings in the R/3 system (SID, Server Port, SAP client, ...)? Which settings are required (necessary) in the portal?
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards,
    Jef Geerinckx

    Hi Jef,
a connection string which has the following parameters works fine, lang is not always necessary.
    1> CLIENT
    2> USER
    3> PASSWD
    4> ASHOST
    5> SYSNR
    6> LANG
    a sample connection string : "CLIENT=200 USER=diverse PASSWD=world LANG=en ASHOST=sapdev1 SYSNR=2"
the ASHOST may need to be specified as "sapdev1.jefslandscape.com" in certain cases, but this depends on many things, one of which is where you make the access from [over the internet/intranet, etc...].
    Hope this helps.

  • Communication between EM agents/EM agent and OMS

    Hi,
I am trying to explore the possibility of communication between.
    1) EM agent to EM agent
    2) Bi-directional Communication between OMS and EM agent
Is there a method by which EM agents can communicate with each other(For ex: sending a String from one agent to agent)
directly or through OMS. Till now, what I have explored it seems only agent to OMS communication is possible.

I am exploring the possibility to build an application roughly similar to client server architecture, using Oracle Enterprise Manager.
I intend to use OMS as the server and different host on which EM agents will be installed as clients.
I require different applications to be running on different client machines[machines having EM agent] which needs to communicate between them for ex: message passing.
OMS server also need to send message to clients, whereas client can also send some data to OMS.
Hope, the scenario is now clear.

  • Communication Between Classloaders

    Hi.
I would like to know if is possible the communication between two different classloader using only one class (like Singleton), for example:
The first classloader A loads a class X and set the value of a static variable to Ok.
The second classloader B loads a class X and get the value of a static variable and return Ok.
But when I get the value the return is Not ok.
    Thanks for your help.

If I put a class A in the extensions loader, like CLASSPATH\lib\ext, how can I create a classloader to delegate a solicitation of information, like getStatus from the class A?Sounds like a bad idea to me all around.
First, if you want to explicitly load classes then do not put them anywhere that the VM can find them. At a minimum it makes it harder to code and debug because mistakes that allow the system loader to load it can creep in.
Second class loaders load classes. They don't call methods.

  • Communicating between two Computer via USB

    Hello,
I want to connect two PCs to synchronize two different LabView VIs running on these Computers.
The perfect way would be, that the VI on PC 1 sends boolean Value to the VI on PC 2, where this value is read out and can start some process.
My Problem is that I do not have a 'normal' network and all serial Ports (but not USB) are occupied.
I would appreciate any advice or suggestion.
One of my ideas is going in the direction of an USB to 9pin serial Adapter plus a null modem adapter/cable. But I have no Idea if this would work.

I would suggest USB-Ethernet adapters and an Ethernet cross-over
    cable.
The communications between computers will be faster, and you can
use your software across a larger network later on without
modifications (just change IP addresses).  Your communications will be
message based rather than character based, so you won't have to
constantly poll the RS232 port for characters.
Now is the right time to use %^<%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M:%S%3uZ>T
