No Computer Detected

Hooked up to a HP Touchsmart320 PC & an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus
Won't scan
scanner message comes up as "NO Computer Detected".
I've got an ethernet cord from the router to my CPU, and a usb cord to the printer.
I have a small business and it's killing me.

I understand that you cannot scan with your HP Officejet 8500a Plus. I am happy to help with this scanning issue!
For further assistance, I will need to know the following information:
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If you are using Windows, please try the HP Print and Scan Doctor, and let me know what happens!

My 8500A will not detect my computer in scan mode. Both printer and computer are on the network. I can print from my computer.

Why won't computer detect IPhone 5? I have troubleshooted by trying to restart the device manager. It is in DFU mode

I cannot get my IPhone to be detected. Windows detects it as an unknown device and I have it in DFU mode. I am very confused as to what to do. I erased the IPhone because I bought it from someone and now it isn't working....

I have tried all of those things. I can get it to DFU mode but no computer will detect it. One comouter detected it as an unknown device and wouldnt let me do anything with it still.

Computer detects router but won't connect online - help

I came home from work and all of the sudden my computer wouldn't connect at all to anything. We have another computer on the network which I'm using to send this message and it works fine, but mine won't connect. It detects the router and everything is connected- all the numbers come up in the Network preferences like it always does...IP, ethernet, etc., but nothing will connect to the internet or AIM. Anybody know what the problem might be? Can my ethernet card be busted, or disconnected or anything that would cause the computer to locate the router but not actually connect? Any help is appreciated- thanks.

I have a similar problem. Sometimes I get a brief connection, but even then it is extremely slow and I get time out errors.

Computer detecting generic non pnp monitor (that doesn't exist)

My computer keeps randomly (usually after a few hours of being on) detecting a third monitor. When I right-click and go to "Screen Resolution" the third screen (or second depending on if I have my second monitor, a Dynex television, plugged in via HDMI cable)
is detected but blank and I cannot make the system get rid of it.
It will get rid of it for a second and then it will come back, making that boo-doo, bud-dunk sounds (the same as wehn you plug in or unplug a usb device). I have tried reinstalling the latest drivers through "screen resolution"-"advanced settings"-"properties(for
both the monitor and the adapter)"-"install latest driver". I've also treid to install the drivers from the AMD website and the HP site. Nothing has worked.
I called my warranty people and they said to do the same thing, and when it didn't work they said to just reinstall windows. So I did that and it worked, for about two weeks. Then it happened again last night.
I have Radeon HD 6750 graphics card, dual core (Radeon HD 6620G for other half?)
I'm a tech noob so if you need more information please let me know and thanks anyone and everyone for their help :)

I suggest you uninstall the monitors in Device Manager, and then scan the hardware changes to see how it works.
Also, try to remove the display profiles for a test:
1.
Click Start, and then type Color Management in the Start Search box.
2.
Click Color Management under Programs.
3.
In the Color Management dialog box, click the Devices tab, and then click the display that is experiencing the problem. For example, click Display: Generic PnP Monitor.
4.
Make sure that the Use my settings for this device check box is selected.
5.
In the Profiles Associated with this Device list, remove all the profiles that are listed in the box. To remove a profile, select the profile, and then click Remove. When
this process is complete, the box will be empty and all the defective profiles will have been removed.
6.
Click Close.

Problem HDMI connection to new Panasonic TC-60ps34 plasma; tv says no signal but computer detects tv; worked fine on 4 yr old phillips plasma; 2011 macbook pro running os10.6.8.

New 60" Panasonic plasma says no signal won't display picture/sound from 2011 macbook pro running os10.6.8 connected via HDMI with moshi MDP to HDMI Adapter. Same setup on former 4-yr-old Phillips Plasma worked fine (but the tv died!)

Assuming this means the TV was not detected in any of these versions, this would not be a Snow Leopard installation or setup issue. I think that is what sig is trying to tell you.
If this is true, you might want to post in the MacBook forums to see if anyone has a similar issue. It would be a good idea to post the model number of your Toshiba if you do so, as this might be relevant. My computer detects my ipod as a unknow device

this is the message my computer says when i plug my ipod in " one of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. for assistance in solving this problem click this message"
when i click on it the usb says "No drivers are installed for this device". i have tried uninstalling itunes and the ipod updater and reinstalling it....still no results...still says the same thing...what should i do?....this is one of the older ipod models..it has the 4 buttons aboce the scroll wheel and it is a 40 gig if that helps anything...also my ipod will not turn on eaither

Open System Preferences > Bluetooth
Make sure On and Discoverable are both selected.

Have you installed new software and drivers on Windows 8.1 machine yet ? If yes, please initiate scan from computer first. Scan from computer will give you more options than scan from the printer itself.

Why can't computer detect my 4th gen. iPod Shuffle?

Someone gave me a 4th gen. Shuffle as a gift but my Macbook (OS 10.6.8) doesn't recognize it when I plug it into a USB port with the connector that came with it. I've had the shuffle plugged into a power source continuously since I got it, so it's not a battery problem.
I've looked at the Apple troubleshooting article for this problem, but it's not a USB port issue (the USB ports work fine with everything else) and resetting the device doesn't help, nor does making sure the plug connection is secure.
I have noticed that the 3.5 mm. plug fits loosely enough on this shuffle for the shuffle to drop off the connector if it's left dangling from a power source and not supported. Could the problem be a faulty male plug? Something else? Thanks for any suggestions out there!

If it's that loose, you may not have the plug pushed in completely. That headphones jack is the type that accepts headphones with remote control buttons, so the fit may be tighter than expected. Make sure you push until you feel it "click" into place.

Computer wont detect hardware when ipod is plugged in

I just got a brand new Ipod nano for my birthday and it has never worked on my computer, I have installed the software and uninstalled it many times, I've done all of the "5 r's" , and no matter what I do, my computer won't detect the hardware. Although, it does charge when I plug it in. My brother has an Ipod mini and my computer detects his. Also, when I plug my Ipod Nano into his computer it is detected.
When I am asked to restart my computer after I install the software, a blue screen comes up that says:

The system has been shut down.
I've been working on this for a few days and I still can't seem to get it to work. So frusterated!

Computer won't detect iphones

Why won't my computer detect iphones? I know for a fact that it isn't the cables OR the the USB ports, so don't even try with that. I have tried all the ports and I know my cable works, I have it plugged into a wall right now. I have tried with my own iphone, and two of my friends tried as well. My computer just will not detect them.
