Go to your hard drive, enter library, go into users, and go into launch agents and delete the thing above. Empty the trash and restart.

Mac Book Pro reports communication failure between computer and CD-DVD player OX 80020022

I am using a 3 year old Mac Book Pro and I am unable to burn CD's or DVD's. I am getting an error message - OX 800 200 22 with a "communication between computer and disc drive failed". Any good remedies?

Relation between computing and gathering statistics

Hi gurus,
What is the relation between computing and gathering statistics for a database object.Are they mutually dependent or one doesn't have anything to do with the other?How they affect performance of a database??

computing term used to collect 100% statistics along with analyze command.
gather stats is a new package provided by the oracle, also recommend to use this instead of analyze. You can also take 100% stats, like compute with analyze command, in gather stats pacakge, parameter estimate_percent=>null.

Encrypting network between computer and printer

I would like to encrypt a network between computer and printer but I see references to ASCII and hexadecimal which I don't understand. Please can anyone explain in simple terms how to go about this?

The picture you showed is the settings for a WiFi network. There are four main types of encryption 40bit WEP, 128bit WEP, and WPA or WPA2. (I am ignoring WPA2 Enterprise as it is unlikely the printer is capable of this.)
WEP and WPA and WPA2 have all been cracked although it is still the case that WPA2 is better than WPA which in turn is better than WEP. On that basis while using eny of these encryption schemes is better than nothing if you are really concerned with security you would be better using an Ethernet cable.
WPA2 Enterprise is still somewhat secure but as its name suggests is not general suitable for home or small office setups.
With regards to ASCII and Hex, WEP passwords can be entered in either style, they would in fact be the same just entered differently. It is possible to convert an ASCII value to Hex and vice-versa.

I installed the package(java communications api 2.0) and tried to run an example, which came along with the package. And it said "Exception in thread 'main' java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/comm/Commport"
I followed the installation instruciton that is attached along with the package. I'm not sure if this package is compatible with J2SE 1.4.1(the one I have in my computer)or I might have done somthing wrong. Thank you very much.

Wireless connection between computer and HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One Printer.

I just bought an HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One Printer - H711a. I want to have a wireless connection between my computer and my printer in order to place the printer in a different room. The instructions say that I need to give the name of my wireless network. Do they mean that I need a wireless internet connection? I absolutely don't want to go wireless on the internet. How do I go about this?

Recent firedfox update immedately cause break in connection between computer and printer

about 2 weeks ago Firefox offered an update. I clicked to start this. right after the printer failed to respond to the computer and a message said: check cables (done) restart computer(done) check firewall - I don't know how to do this. I have a McAfee contract.
Could this update have caused the problem? was this update offer legitimate or a virus?

i cant switch between vc7,8,9...only between 1 and 7.
when i switch to vc8 or 9 only comes nothing but a blank black screen.
there is no problem on vc1 to vc6, login screen works there.
gdmflexiserver command doesnt works, same blank black screen.
but when X is not in work all virtual consoles works without problem.
ive searched everywhere for this problem but nothing works.people have recommend same things; gdmflexiserver etc.
i think it is a problem with X server, maybe a bug of this version.Mine is xorg-server 1.5.3-4.

No connection between computer and Ipod.. Very strange

(i'm typing this message for a friend of mine)
A couple of days ago I bought a new Ipod video 30 Gb.
I installed Itunes on my laptop and sync. it with my Ipod.
I also uploaded some songs.
Now I installed Itunes on my computer and tried to sync it with my Ipod. but for some kind of strange reason my Itunes cannot find my Ipod.
when I looked in Explorer I can see that my Ipod is connected but it will not appaer in Itunes.
I connected an other Ipod (Ipod Video 60GB) and that one appaers in Itunes.
We contacted the local Apple store where I bought it, but they told us to format and reinstall the computer.
is there maby some other way to solve this.

Temperamental Connection Between Computer and External Hard Drive

Recently added an eHD to handle my music and it seems to work fine for the most part, well sort of.....
When I put the computer to ‘sleep’, it fires up with the connection to the eHD intact and I go about playing around. But if I need to ‘force quit’ iTunes, or ‘re-start’ or ‘shut down’ or ‘log out’ of this gizmo, the connection is lost. Usually I am reprimanded for an improper disconnect, but not always. On a few rare occasions the disconnect has occurred out of the blue; on these occasions I always get a reprimand.
However the disconnect occurs I have to unplug the eHD(firewire) from the computer and from the power source, and re -plug the eHD, in reverse order, to get that little icon to re-appear on the desktop.
What have I failed to do so that this gizmo won't reject the eHD for any reason?

Does the external drive get its power from the USB bus or does it have its own power brick? The later are usually less temperamental but I'm not sure that a self-powered powered drive would help with the force-quits.
The root cause of your trouble may be the programs wanting force quits, not the edrive, unless that ONLY happen when the edrive is connected. If you could eliminate what is causing you to force quit, then the type of drive might become a moot point.
May be worth posting in the forums for the software that's requiring you to force quit.

Syncing Contacts & Calendar Between Computer and Touch With Gmail?

I just got a touch. Now, how do I get my contacts and calendar (I run Address Book 4.1.2 and iCal 3.0.8 on Leopard) from my computer to my Touch?
I am a gmail user but have not done anything beyond the mail with it.
I see that address book has a "synchronize with Google" box to click in preferences but the iCal only has one for Mobile Me (for which I would rather not have to pay.)
If you can point me in the right direction that would be great.

I have both my iCal and my Address Book data synced between my iPod Touch and my Mac.
Where I got hung up is you don't do the sync through either application -- rather you use iTunes for the sync. I need to get my head around that but who cares. All is well and synced.

I am having problems connecting my imac to a Kodak printer wirelessly. This was previously working fine. The printer states it is connected to the home network but the connection between computer and printer has been lost/ cannot find printer.

In addition, I contacted kodak support and they wished to take control of my computer in order to rectify the problem. I did not allow this as I was worried about security . Can anyone tell me whether once you allow someone to take control of your computer, then it is a security risk. What protection does my imac provide ? Thanks.

I think you can do it on a one time basis, & not allow after that.

High Latency between computer and home hub

My internet began to run very slow last night with disconnects lasting about a minute. I have used BT for many years with very few problems.
I ran a speed test through the bt site and it reports my line is working correctly.

I have tested in on second computer with similiar results. Both are wired connections with no previous connection problems.
Does this suggest a problem with the router/filter itself or could it also be a fault on BTs end?

hi there was a problem in the Manchester area earlier today but that is now resolved
the first hop to your home hub is very high typically <1 not 305 may be worth trying to check if your network card drivers are up to date also try if you can another cable also try another port on your hub just as some extra suggestions

HT3180 When trying to play itunes and slideshows from my Mac book to Apple TV the small icon on the bottom right of the screen which switches between Computer and Apple TV doesn't always show up, and therefore the function doesn't work. What's up?

We are trying to play playlists and a slideshow from an Apple Macbook wirelessly to the Apple TV. The small, upward arrow icon that appears on the bottom right of the screen (which allows you to pick Computer or Apple TV) doesn't always show up, and therefore, we can't get it to work. Any thoughts?
