No connection 6610i

Despite having downloaded the Nokia PC Suite and purchased the right (CA-42) cable for my mobile, I remain unconnected during the initial wazard connection process! - My USB ports all work successfully when using other removeable devices. It just seems my mobile connection is not recognised.
Any tips or advice very welcome.

R u sure, u're using recommend pc suite version.
Check from the nokia website for ur compatible version of pc suite from www.nokia.com/pcsuite.
Unstall everything u installed in ur PC. Reboot ur PC and install compatible pc suite and reboot ur pc again
Connect ur ph via ur nokia ph cable> the phone will prompt u to select pc suite mode. select it and see ur phone is connected or not. u can find it under connection manager in Nokia pc suite application once u run the pc suite app.

Sortet out, cabel i got was NOT :-( a genuine Nokia.
Will be returned tomorrow.
Anyhow, i manage to find a usb driver that worked
with the latest pcsuite. My old 6610i is empty.. :-))

Infrared connectivity -- 6610i to 6233

I have a 6610i and 6233 phiones. i would like to transfer data between these phones. I tried the infrared option but these done seem to detect each other. how do i go about setting this up.

6610i, are you sure it is compliant with ca-42, check nokia web pages for 6610i ?

Nokia 6610i connectivity

Hi!
I tried to connect my 6610i to my pc (windows XP).
At first I tried to use irDA: I have an USB key that works as irDA, and Nokia PC Suite 6.86.9.3 never finds the phone (even using irDA at 115200 bps).
Then I tried to use DKU-5, but with every driver I tried (even the original of Nokia) Windows XP's control panel says there's not driver for this usb device.
It's 2 years I'm trying to connect this phone to my pc. I've never been able to do it (just once with my girlfriend's pc).
How can I do to solve this problem?

Uninstall it again, but this time run first the latest version pcsuite cleaner before installing pcsuite again. Don't connect the cable until told to do so during installation.
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!

6610i connectivity issue

Hi,
I have installed PC suite 6.83 but my phone 6610i never gets detected via infrared and USB. The PC detects the phone but PC suite does not. PC suite gets stuck at the window where it shows connect the phone.

check if this 8000 is the same port used in SMICM-Services-http port,sxmb_admin-integration engine configuration-pipeline URL and exchange profile-http ports.it should be same 8000.

Store images problem 6610i

I have Nokia pc Suite installed, phone 6610i is connected by cable, when I click store images I get a window that says Image store has encountered a problem and needs to close, with the possibility to debug, send an error report or don't send, aal of wich do not help. After that the Nokia windows disappear. That never happened at the earlier version of pc suite. Please some one help, Alex.

I never found a solution with that specific pc suite s/w and phone s/w.
I just kept upgrading my phone and pc suite and now it works.

Nokia 3100/6610i Application Download "Unknown Error"

Hi Folks,
I am trying to download a 45 KB application on my Nokia 3100 and 6610i from server (Apache-JK2->Tomcat). Many times, i have found Unknown error in blank page during connecting to the server or installation of application. The JAD file settings are desired ones From forums.nokia i found that there might be problem with mime type setting in Apache or Tomcat. I described the mime type in both server for jar and jad file as specified in standard. But still the Unknown error occurs.
Also describing the network here as slow, lots of connectivity error happen like
1. Data Bearer not available
2. GPRS Connection time out
3. Connection time out, please try again.
Is there some error description document or reference available, whcih can provide a good description about such errors. Generally required during explanation to customers :)

As title, please verify it. I have tested in WinXP Home edition sp2. and Win2k (sp4) and cannot dial up. (both Infrared Modem and Cable Modem)

Use DKU 5 cable. It just works fine with 6610i. Use latest DKU 5 driver , also driver provided in the CD. Latest pcsuite is fine. I've successfully connected to GPRS by 6610i modem.

E52 fw 031.012 3g data "connecting" icon always on...

Since the last update of my E52's firmware, the 3G connecting (not "connected") icon - which is the one with the dotted 2-way arrow under the signal meter - is always shown on the screen. I have no applications running in the background (as the task manager says). I have disabled all the internet synchronisations and the icon is still there, from the moment I power-up my phone.
This doesn't cause me any problem (apparently), but I was wondering if that is normal. Other than this, all applications that use this kind of connection work fine. They connect through 3g (the icon goes to full 2-way arrow), they do their job and then they disconnect and the connection icon goes back to the "connecting" state.
I have also tried to force the phone to close all active data connections, by keeping the hang-up button pressed for a few seconds, but nothing happens.
Any idea?

control panel>>settings>>connection>>packet data >>
change the packetdata connection to when need, it could be on the when available setting.

PC-Suite 7.1 doesn't connect via NOKIA DKU-2 to 66...

I've tried to connect my handy Nokia 6610i via cable Nokia DKU-2 with my Notebook. The Notebook has 4 separate USB-2.0-Ports and is running unter Windows XP, SP 3. Installed is the latest Nokia PC Sync "Nokia PC Suite 7.1.18.0.
If I coonect the Handy to my Notebook through the original Nokia DKU-2 cable, Windows XP informs me that a new USB-Device is found, an after a short time, that I can use it. Nokia PC Suite doesn't find the Handy, but reports an error, that I shall connect the Handy to the cable. Trying all other USB-Ports works in the same manner, Windows reports a new USB-Device and that's it.
If I try to use an USB-Port, Windows always had found the Handy as an USB-Device it now always reports, that the USB-Device wasn't connected correct an nothing works.
What is wrong?

Hi I am trying to connect my mobile to my PC.
I am running Windows 98 SE.
My phone is a 6110i
I also tried it on my daughter's 3220
I bought a DKU 5 connector of the internet and installed the drivers.
Then unstalled Nokia suite 5.8.
Both operations went Ok.
Connected the phone and cable but when I open the connection manager, I just get No phone connected.
Have tried searching for a com port identification, but nothing there.
I have now bougfht a CA42 cable for £29.95 from a nokia shop.
Removed all the other software and started again.
Then installed Nokia suite 5.8
I still have the same report of no phone connected.
I have noticed that with the new cable, once I plug it in after the software is loaded, it finds new hardware like Nokia Modem and various other connections and supposedly installs the drivers.
I am totally disheartened now.
Can any one help Please

So you need 2000/XP and the latest 6.x version to get both your and your daughter's phones connected.

The PC is fairly old, so I will have to look at the cost, verses the functionality.

Connectivity adapter cable and pc suite

Hiya peeps wondering if anyone can help ...........I recently bought a connectivity adapter cable for nokia 6610i and a nokia 1601....the set up completes up to the point of saying connect the cable to the pc then to the phone the hour glass comes on and i have waited for over an hour for set up to carry on but nothing happens it just stays on the hour glass.........I am running windows xp pro service pack 2 i have a ca-42 data cable as recommended by nokia website i have downloaded the latest pc suite for my phones and still no luck ppppppppppllllllllllllzzzzzzzzzzz help thankyou

well i have great news for some reason the first time i tried to connect the cable to all the usb ports (one at a time of course) it didnt work but i restarted my computer each time i connected to a different one and now its workin woohoooooo thankyou for the suggestions ........one happy nokia user

Transfer messages from my 6610i to E51

I have a lot of important SMS messages on my old phone - Nokia 6610i. I managed to connect the phone to PC, and copy the messages to the hard disk. Now I have all the messages a .vmg files on my computer, but how do I transfer them to the E51? I cannot copy paste them in the "Phone Browser" in the "Inbox" or any other folder. Is this a known problem, or only occurring on my computer? Is there ANY other way of transferring those messages, as they are really important

i have the same exact case , i can't imagine to lose these SMS Messages . i need a solution to transfare these SMS to my new 5800 musicexpress , i used two diffirent programs to take back up from my mobile data in .vmg extension as you did (mobile browser and mobile edit.) i noticed that some of the SMS on the SIM card and others on the mobile phone . am searching for a method to solve this impasse. i will upgrade this problem ,shall you contact back.

E52: No 3.5G connection possible & "High speed dat...

I'm not able to connect to 3.5G networks, only 2G (GPRS packet) data connections are possible. I also wonder why I do not have the mentioned menu item in my configuration menu available (like it is stated in the manual p115).
I'm subscribed at the German provider O2.
Does anyone has an idea about that?

Go to menu>>> control panel>>settings>> phone>> network>> under network mode select UMTS.
Now go to settings>>connections>> packet data>>>>>>> enable the high speed packet access
