No connection between wireless keyboard and IMac

I had to change batteries in my wireless keyboard for my Imac. After that I did not manage to reestablish the connection between the keyboard and the machine. I did not manage to get the blue tooth going again before I went to bed and the session timed out , my IMac is now locked and since my keyboard does not work I am not able to type the password. How can I solve this?

Are the batteries installed properly?  Have you tried other batteries?
Have you read for possible solutions over in the "More Like This" thread over here?----------------------->
Plan B:  It's a good idea to keep a wired keyboard as a standby.  Suggest that you get hold of one.

How can i connect a Wireless Keyboard and a Trust mouse to a brand new Mac mini?

Go to the Bluetooth icon on the menu bar and select "Set Up Bluetooth Device". Follow the wizard.
Alternatively, if you haven't yet unboxed and setup the Mini, you can pair the keyboard to the Mini (and possibly the mouse). However, I would set up with a USB keyboard and mouse and pair the Bluetooth devices afterwards.

  • Troubles with wireless keyboard and iMac

My iMac won't recognize most of the keys on my wireless keyboard. Only several of the function keys seem to work. I've even tried replacing it with a new wireless keyboard, which worked to type in the pairing codes but also wouldn't enter any text into the password field. Since I'm stuck at the login screen and can't enter my password, I can't access any of the software troubleshooting programs that apple support recommends. I just ran an update several days ago. Could that have caused troubles?

    1) You need to go into more detail as to the trouble with the wireless keyboard
    2) Why can't you get a USB one? You can't order one online? Borrow one from someone?
Without some kind of text entry to enter the password this is going to be difficult.

  • Will i be able with Mac mini to connect a wireless keyboard and mouse (via USB) for first boot ?

Please answer . I ask that because I saw on a video showing its first boot , saying" connect a Bluetooth keyboard" . So I am worried . It's about its latest version . Thanks!

If your devices are using a USB dongle, the Mini will
likely see a mouse or keyboard connected via this method as
"wired" devices.  These dongles are configured this way
so that the host computer need not know anything about
    the wireless connection.

  • Proper connection between av receiver and iMac (network setting)

What would be the proper network setting, to connect an av receiver (connected to cable router/modem)? Tech support peeps at Harman Kardon say I need to share my "Music Library", for the home network feature to work and allow me to stream music from my iMac (running OS X 10.9.2).

Does your Harman Kardon support airplay?  Does it have wifi?  You're gonna need to give more info unless someone here happens to have your exact setup.  How does your mac connect to the internet?

  • Tethered internet connection between iPhone 4 and iMac disconnecting unexpectedly

My tethered internet connection to my iphone 4 keeps disconnecting.. Imac shows disconnected but iPhone 4 shows personal hotspot still connected.  I am currently using the iMac's air port to connect.  My service provider is AT & T.  I made sure the software on both iMac and phone were up to date, making sure to stay on the personal hotspot screen on my phone while connected.. Any thoughts?

Well, one of them needs an ISP, I think some phones can be used as a Modem for a computer, but aren't the data rates exorbitant when using the iPhone?

  • Lost connection between Magic Mouse and iMac

My Magic Mouse is constantly losing the bloototh link with the iMac. I read in some forums that this bug is frequent with Mac OS X 10.6.8 but I haven't found any answers. BTW, batteries are not the problem since I have already tried it with several new batteries.
Could anyone please give me a solution to it?
    Thanks!

    Paul,
I don't think you did anything wrong.  I think it was just "one of those things".  Things should be OK now.
Give a shout if they aren't.

I WAS GIVEN A MICROSOFT WIRELESS KEYBOARD AND MOUSE, WILL IT WORK ON MY PC?

    Hi,
Agree with Lewis, the pairs has been done before out of manufacturer.
For Bluetooth connection of wireless keyboard and mouse, we can follow these steps to pair via passkey.

  • Will the Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse work with my iMac G5?

My Dad just sent me his old iMac G5 17". and I was wondering if the Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse will work with it!? I don't really have a place to put the computer.. so I was hoping to get the wireless mouse and keyboard so I don't have to be connected to the computer.

I have the most recent (2 AA batteries, not 3) wireless keyboard and magic mouse running on a PowerMac G5. Your iMac G5 has the same class of processor, which isn't Intel. My Mac has built-in bluetooth support, which is what these products use. I'm unsure if your iMac has bluetooth built-in or not, but if it doesn't, you can purchase the Belkin bluetooth USB dongle. That has been widely reported to work just fine within OSX.
Anyway, yes, your iMac G5 can run the wireless keyboard and mouse. You just might have to work a little for it.
    Good luck!

  • TS3048 My early 2009 Mac Pro does not connect via bluetooth to my sound bar or bluetooth mini speakers. Both my wireless keyboard and mouse have no problems connecting. What do I need to do to connect to external bluetooth devices?

My early 2009 Mac Pro does not connect via bluetooth to my sound bar or bluetooth mini speakers. Both my wireless keyboard and mouse have no problems connecting. What do I need to do to connect to external bluetooth devices?

I would always have a wired keyboard and mouse on hand (need not be expensive ... any cheap wired devices will work).  "Emergency recovery" procedures can activate features in random order, so the opportunity to select a recovery partition may pass before the wireless devices are recognized.
That will let you select the "turn on Bluetooth" icon.

  • My wireless keyboard and trackpad won't connect and i can't sign in

my wireless keyboard and trackpad won't connect and i can't sign in. yesterday I tested it with my mac air and it worked fine. i deleted the connection from my mac air and tried it again. then it worded. howerver, i shut down my computer correctly and tried it again today. now the same problem again.
    HELP!!

no, just a usb mouse. but I found an old usb bluetooth hardware. this made it possible for me to make it work. but as soon as I remove the hardware it says "no bluetooth available"! I re-istalled mountain lion but still the same problem.
additionally I deleted/reset the PRAM. still the same problem.

  • Macbook Pro Retina (15") can't connect to wireless mouse and external USB keyboard

    Hi All,
I got my new MacBook Pro Retina (15 inch) about 3 weeks ago. It works fine. I got a 30" Dell screen that I am using via thunderbolt/usb adapter. Also, I am using a thunderbolt ethernet adapter. Both adapters work fine without any problems.
I have an apple usb keyboard connected to the USB hub of the screen, as well as my iphone cable. It is a regular, full size apple keyboard. In addition to this, I have a logitech nano connected directly to the right usb port of the macbook pro.
This setup was working well until a few days ago. I lost connectivity with my mouse. Initially, I thought the batteries are empty. After replacing them, I still had no connection (again, the usb receiver is *directly* connected to the macbook).
I changed a few cables here and there and noticed that I can get either the keyboard to work or the mouse but not both at the same time. A reboot did not help.
Did anybody encounter such a strange problem already? If so, what could I possibly do?
    Thank You,
    --Martin

    Hello nikkig00,
It is certainly difficult to use the computer if your wireless keyboard and mouse do not connect.  I found a few resources I recommend for this issue.
I recommend reviewing this article first:
Troubleshooting wireless mouse and keyboard issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3048
If the issue persists, I recommend reviewing the section titled "Top troubleshooting tips" in the article below.  Step 9 specifically stands out to me for the issue you described:
    9. Restart your computer
Sometimes a simple restart of your Mac is all it takes to get things running smoothly again. You may also want to try resetting your computer's PRAM and NVRAM.
