No connection to the cell network - even when my iPhone says there is?
I know there have been quite a few people saying that once they lose cell coverage they have to reset network settings, turn the iPhone off/on, go on airplane mode, do a screen reset to get their connection back... But that doesn't even work for me!
Additionally when I do these things my iPhone says there should be a strong connection (5bars) but I cannot send/receive messages, and I can't call anyone/receive calls.
Basically nothing works unless I'm using iMessage to talk to people.
I'm wondering if this is a problem with my iPhone, or with my carrier?? I'm with Vodafone, in Perth (Australia).
The thing is though, when I swapped my (prepaid, by the by) sim card with someone else's, my sim card in someone else's iPhone worked fine, but using that person's sim card in my iPhone produced the same problems.
So I kind of thought it was more a phone problem than a carrier problem?

I am really tired, fed up, with this Podcast application's behaviour. I have set up, both from the Podcats Settings and Mobile Network Settings that Podcast should NEVER use Mobile Networks for any download, it should only use WiFi.
After doing that as soon as I open Podcast, if I check Mobile Networks configuration, or Podcast config, I see that again, by itself!!!, Mobile Networks for Podcast is ACTIVATED (even when the iPhone is connected to WiFi)
Apple people, this is costing me money!!! And this strange (silent and from the back) behaviour, against the user settings, looks more and more like fraud (as when I apply the settings I define clearly my intentions of not downloading from the network, but your Apple's Podcast Application keep changing it against my will)
I wish someone can help me to stop this application to revel against the user's will.It is not properly connected to the network.
Make sure location is set correctly
DNS should be on auto (settings - general - network)
Try ethernet
Signal strength on device won't account for issues, you would need a network report from istumbler, netstumbler or similar. This will show accurate signal strength along with noise and nearby networks -
Z30 will not re-connect to the cell network after a subway ride
I ride the subway to work (Toronto) and often my BB Z30 will not reconnect to the cell network (Rogers) when I leave the subway. The first time I noticed this the phone was off line for for 12 hours! The cell strenghth icon shows a connection at minimal strength (not an off line red 'X'). This happens several times a week. It re-connects when I restart the phone or turn the Airplane mode on & off. This is very frustrating.

I am connected to the computer with my phone and it says there are 0 photos to import, however I have over 200 on my phone to import. I am trying to figure out how to get itunes to recognize the photos on my phone. This has never happened before.
Have you tried to reset the iPhone and tried again to import?
To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. -
My ipad won't connect to the App Store even when the wifi is on

When I connect my ipad to a wifi network, the iphone connects to the same network
When I connect my iOS 8 iPad 4 to the guest network at work, my iOS 8 iPhone 5s automatically connects to the same network. When I disconnect the iPhone so I can send an email from my iCloud account (which is blocked on the work network) and tell it to forget the network, it disconnects my iPad too. Each time I tell the iPhone to forget the network, when I reconnect my iPad, the iPhone connects again.
How do I tell my iPhone to never connect to the work guest network while allowing my iPad to connect?
I do not like this feature in iOS 8.Unfortunately, this does not help me, there are no issues with the operation of the WiFi, it is operating normally on both devices.
The issue is that in iOS 8, the WiFi network information is shared across linked devices. Therefore, if I add a network to one device, it is added to the other device and if I forget a network on one device, it is forgotten on the other.
I want to use a network on one device (the iPad) and to not use the network on the other (iPhone). How do I tell the iPhone to not connect to the WiFi without disabling WiFi while allowing the iPad to connect to the network? It is annoying to have to disable the iPhone WiFi manually each day when I get to work and it is prone to forgetting to turn it back on when I leave. -
I attempted to install the OTA update for 4.4.2, but received an error message that the installation failed. When my phone rebooted it was unable to connect to the cell network and was extremely sluggish. I own an iMac and the S4 is no longer recognized by Kies or Android File Transfer.
I attempted turning off the phone and removing the battery and Sim, to no avail. I also attempted to access the recovery tools, but the phone will no longer boot to recovery. I tried a factory reset, but I do no recall ever setting the security PIN it seems to require.Hello Vidar403

After updating my iPhone 5 to iOS 8.1 it will not connect to the wifi network at work even though it recognizes it. It however still automatically connects to the network at home (this is the network I used to update the phone). My iPad however does not seem to have any problem connecting. I have restared the phone, toggled the router, re-entered the network password but there's still no connection.
When your device is trying to connect to the work Wi-Fi network, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > then tap on the name of the Netowrk that she is having trouble with. Then tap on forget this network. Let the device attempt to connect again and make absolutely sure she is trying to connect to the work network and not a nearby network, then make absolutely sure the password is entered correctly.

My ipod keeps searching for network, even when the network info is all set properly. It has suddenly started doing this. Also, buffering forever... I have tried to reset the network few times, but not working.

I would be concerned too if my iPhone was acting this way. It sounds like it is overheating and not holding a charge. I recommend following the steps listed below when experiencing an issue like this:
Battery life seems short
Click ( www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html) for tips on how to prolong iPhone's battery life.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Connect iPhone to iTunes and restore iPhone.
If the screen shows a low-battery image, the battery is low on power and needs to charge for up to ten minutes before you can use it.
When charging iPhone, make sure to leave it charging until it is fully charged. You'll know the battery is fully charged when the battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen looks like this .
Note: When charging using a computer, don't connect iPhone to a keyboard. Also, the computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's not turned on or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPhone battery may drain.

Okey, So a few days ago I got a new router (new Wifi network). When I connected my printer to it, none of my Apple or Android devices couldn't find my printer, even if they could before I got my new router. I called my new network the same way as my previouse one, and used the same password,but my devices still can't find it.They're all connected to the same network, and no errors are shown on the printer, or on the Wireless network test results. I tryed everything I could find from the FAQs on this site, but I still can't solve the problem.The printer prints and scans normally when it's connected to my computer. Please answer if you have any ideas how to solve my problem!

Welcome to the HP Support forums. I understand that since changing your router your mobile devices can’t find your printer and you can only print from your computer with the cable connected.
Please run the Wireless Setup Wizard from the front panel of the printer. Even though you have used the same network name and password, the new router broadcasts different information that the old router. So please run the wireless setup wizard from the front panel of the printer. The instructions on how to do this can be found in your User Guide on page 31 in the section titled “To connect the product with the Wireless Setup Wizard”.
For your computer it sounds like the step to switch the connection from a USB connection to a wireless connection was accidentally missed during the setup. The instructions on how to make that switch can also be found in your User Guide on page 33in the section titled “Change from a USB connection to a wireless network”. Windows and Mac each have their own sub-section.
For your mobile devices please turn the wi-fi setting off on it. Please wait approximately 15 seconds to allow the device to truly disconnect from the network. Please turn the wi-fi setting back on and then choose your network. It’s possible that the devices still “thought” they were connected to your old network as the name didn’t change.

my macbook pro is connected to internet via my time capsule but my iPad and iPhone won't. it shows wifi connection to the time capsule but when i go on to the internet on the iPad or iPhone, it comes up with network error. can anyone help?
This can be caused by a number of issues.
Was everything working and then suddenly stopped??
Or is this a new clean setup and has never worked.
Do you have a cable modem which is not a router and the TC setup in bridge? That will cause it. The TC must be in router mode, ie dhcp and nat.
Check the IP the MBP gets including dns and gateway..
Then check the ipad/iphone.. post what IP dns and gateway (router in applespeak) they get. -
I keep getting the error 306 cannot connect to the iTunes Network when downloading songs on iTunes. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps from the forums and my technical issues are still unresolved. I have Windows 7. Please help!!
iTunes Store loads partially or returns "Error 306" or "Error 10054"
Proxies, parental control settings and software, security or filtering software, or a bad iTunes Store cache can cause this.
To address proxies, Remove Internet Options proxy settings ( http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1490 ) and connect to the Internet without a proxy.
To reset iTunes Store cache:
In iTunes, choose iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (PC).
Click the Advanced tab.
Click the "Reset cache" button.
Click OK and see if the issue is resolved.
Adjust Parental Controls in iTunes:
Open iTunes.
Access iTunes preferences:
On a Mac: From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences.
On a Windows PC: From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
Click the Parental Controls tab.
Remove restrictions on Parental Controls.

I tried to update my iphone4, in the middle it gave an error and now when try to connect it the computer doesnt even detects it and neither does itunes
Power the phone off completely. Plug the USB end of the cord into the computer, leaving the other end unplugged from the phone. While the phone is powered off, open up iTunes, hold down the home button on the phone, and plug in the USB cord to the phone, making sure you keep holding down the home button. In about 15 seconds you should get a pop-up in itunes saying that it's detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Click 'Ok' and 'Restore'.
Your iOS update crashed and your phone is in recovery mode. The good news is that this will fix it, bad news is that unless you had everything backed up in either iTunes or iCloud, you've lost everything as your phone was wiped when the iOS update crashed. -
I have the TC connected to the comcast modem, with TC in Double NAT mode. I set up the sonos music players ok. But I read that to incresae the wifi signal the TC should be in Bridge mode. Then I cannot get any of the Sonos units to connect to the wifi network.
So two questions, does the Bridge mode give a better wifi signal then double NAT?
Why will sonos not connect to the network when in Bridge mode?A PC can have more issues connecting than a Mac.
But it really should not matter.. so just try it in situ.. press and hold the reset.. once it starts up, it will return to default IP, 10.0.1.1 the PC should then be able to find it via the airport utility.
If not drag it over to the Mac and plug in there by ethernet.. or since it is a laptop, really should not be that difficult to drag the Laptop and plug it into the TC.
Important thing is to get access to the TC.
The Mac if it is running lion, then you MUST download and install 5.6 airport utility to do anything useful.
