No content can be shown on "featured" tab on "App Store" app

I tried to check "featured" tab on my iPhone 4S's "App Store" app, but it keeps telling me: "Your request could not be completed."
And it returns all blank on featured tab.
Can somebody fix this?

I am getting the same on a brand new iPhone 5 .
My Featured tab shows nothing and my charts show nothing.  I did everything of the above suggestions.  I have:
1) Turned off and turned on the genius.  Shut the app down while doing that.
2) Signed out of my account and even tried signing in from a different account I have.
I guess this should be flagged as a "known issue".
Is Apple taking care of this?

  • I can't find the purchased tab in the app store app on my iPad

Ok well the purchased tab that is supposed to be in the app store app on my iPad isn't there and I'm trying to see the app that have been previously purchased so I can find some the old apps I used to have on my iPod and put them on my iPad. I have done it before but I can't remember how to do it now.

If you update to iOS 4.3.3 you should then see it in the App Store app. If you have iTunes 10.3 on your computer you can also do it there. Otherwise I think that you'll have to go through your purchase history on your account in iTunes on your computer.

why i can`t see the featured page of itunes store?

What are you trying to do exactly and how are you trying to do it?  You want to view artwork for tracks that on your iPod in iTunes? Why would you want to do that when you can just do that from your main iTunes Music library?

  • My App Store ( app ) is stuck with a recent download screen on display.  No other app features ( App Store ) are available.

A recent App Download resulted in that App Download Screen getting stuck on my App Store display. Every re-open attempt ( App Store ) still has the stuck app in the display.  I can not access further App Store features, downloads, updates etc. What to do?

Have you tried closing the App Store app via the iPad's multitasking bar and seeing if it works when you re-open it ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the App Store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I googled "mac solitaire" and came up with several free results that should work. Solitaire XL looks decent.
As for running PPC apps, you're out of luck. You can try setting up a virtual machine of Snow Leopard, but that's a bit of work. You can force the app to redownload from the App Store by holding option while you click on your purchases tab, which will make the "install" button clickable.

  • Why can't I install the App Store App on my Mac OS X v10.5.8

why can't I install the App Store App on my Mac OS X v10.5.8
Just purchased OS X Mountain Lion but in order to down load I have to have the App Store App on my Mac. Please help.

10.6.6 was the 1st to support the App Store, 10.6.8 is actually needed now as a minimum.
Install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.(10.9/Mavericks is the only download available now without specially calling Apple).
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.

  • HT201272 the app store app crashes/closes when i try doing a search. can anyone help?

the app store app crashes/closes when i try doing a search. can anyone help with this?

Mines been doing it for at least 6 months.Support had me do a reset and when that didnt work, they convinced me to update to version 11.That was a waste of time... Even if I open the App Store with nothing but basic utilitys loaded on my iPad,the App Store closes/crashes for no "Obvious" reason. However internal diagnostics show the cause is that the App Store is overloading the iPads processor.I have tons of memory on my iPad (64GB) but apparently the newer versions of the iTunes App Store are overloading it, (Even in a stripped down state).
Solution? I have never gotten any helpfull answers from support in nearly 6 months. So, other than reverting to an even earler version of iTunes (Pre version 10.7 at least for me),or using something like the "Apple Sliced "App...  Most of them are free, and have a few good features, but all that I've tried are are less usefull for doing App searches.
It was a real shock to me ,when support claimed it had never heard about this issue before. These forums would indicate differently. It seems really stupid to design a basic utility, that a fair number of customers wont be able to use, and recieve no warning before encouraging us to install it..

I tried to use the attached command through TERMINAL :
    sqlite3 ~/Library/Application\ Support/Dock/*.db "DELETE from apps WHERE title='Help';" && killall Dock
sqlite3: Error: too many options: "DELETE from apps WHERE title='Help';"
Use -help for a list of options.
But i didn't work as I got the above error message.

I'm in the same boat as you -- except that I manage both a school lab (volunteer job) and macs in the enterprise (pay job).  What I think we need is the Education Volume Purchasing Program
    http://www.apple.com/education/volume-purchase-program/faq.html
Unfortunately this all seems a little rough around the edges -- for example, I have found updates for AppStore apps on the support.apple.com updates download site, but then when I install them via ARD they don't actually update the software.  (The AppStore icons still show as needing the updates, and the version info reports the old version.)  The documentation is also vague about which AppleID to use in which circumstance.  I think they just haven't finished thinking through the implications of the various procedures and policies upon the various kinds of customers.  When we deployed Mountain Lion on the school lab, we made an install usb and went around and installed it on each computer -- and it appears that you are on the honor system as far as paying for all of the licenses that you install.  We did!  But they appear to have no way to enforce it.
So far, I have only deployed 9 Lion macs in my day job, and our "solution" to the AppStore showing updates problem has been to drag the AppStore icon off of the users' docks so they don't see them!

  • How can I get my App Store app back after my daughter deleted it?

My daughter somehow deleted my App Store app off my iPad. How can I get it back.

The App Store is not possible to delete.
Anyway, the easiest way is probably Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout
If you don't care for that method, you can find the App Store by swiping your home screen from left to right, and typing "App Store" in the search screen.

  • I can no longer find my app store app on my iPad 2

Is there a way I can get the app store back on my ipad?
    Thanks Paul

    Hi Chrysalie,
You can't delete the App Store app from your iPad, so it's there somewhere. Check all of your home screens by swiping to the left to make sure you didn't move it to another screen. Also, if you have any apps with multiple apps within them (like Game Center), check to make sure it didn't get moved into there.
You can also do a spotlight search to access it, but that won't show you where it has gotten off to....
But if you want to do a spotlight search, from the first home screen swipe to the right, and then type App in the search bar. It should list the App store app below the search bar, and you can access it from there.
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,

  • I have an app update on my phone through the app store, but i dont have that app and when i hit update it says the item is no longer available for sale,, but i cannot get rid of the little 1 at the corner of the app store app,, how can i get rid of it

i have an app update on my phone through the app store, but i dont have that app and when i hit update it says the item is no longer available for sale,, but i cannot get rid of the little 1 at the corner of the app store app,, how can i get rid of it,, i have iphone 5

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store notice. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
In the Finder, press the key combination command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu initially showing Kind. From that menu, select  Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select Raw Query and click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of popup menu. Click in that box and paste (command-V).
The search window will show all the App Store products you've installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the items listed in the search window is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Test.

  • Accidentally deleted an App Store app.  how can I get the icon back on my home screen?  when I search for it in the App Store it comes up 'open'. thanks.

accidently deleted an app Store app.  how can I get the icon back on my home screen?  in the app store it comes up 'open' instead of install.

What happens if you tap on open?
Remember, if you ever want to find an app quickly, you can slide all the way to the left (iOS 6 and lower) or pull down (iOS 7 and later) to get to an app.
If you know for certain that you have deleated the app, please try restarting your phone. There are many ways to do this, but the safest way would be to hold down the power button and then slide to power down.
Once powered down, restart and try to find the icon on your screen. If you still can't find it, go into the App Store and then find the app you were trying to access. It should have an iCloud download symbol since you've purchased it before, rather than saying "install."
