No Content in iPod part of iPhone after syncing with OS 3.1 and iTunes 9

My iPhone was working fine and I upgraded to iTunes 9 and OS 3.1 and then all of the sudden no Content in iPod part of iPhone after syncing. It shows the music there as far as the capacity is concerned but nothing shows up on the phone. I turned off Sync Music and my podcasts and movies then appear on my iPhone but when I try to Sync Music again it blanks. I then tried only select playlists which seemed to work except when I went to add the largest playlist then No Content error again on my iPhone.

Same problem here.
I had my contents playing from the application iPod in my newly "clean" updated iPhone 3G, then I downloaded 3 podcasts from the iTunes Store in my iphone over wifi and the next time I launched "iPod" the screen read "Updating library" and then only the 3 new podcasts were shown no other contents is available, and the information menu from the settings reads 0 songs but the available disk space is relevant with the songs still being on the iPhone.
In addition, I have to say that iPod, especially the podcasts section, felt more sluggish than on the previous version.
I look forward to a fix.
Best regards,

  • Songs purchased on iPhone through iTunes Store will not show up on iPhone after syncing with iTunes

I recently purchased iTunes Match (about a month ago).  Since purchasing Match, any songs that I have bought on my iPhone 4S (32GB, Sprint) through the iTunes Store app will not sync back to my iPhone after syncing with iTunes on my computer.  I have iOS 7.1.2 and iTunes 11.3.0.54.  The only way I can get them to show back up in my iPhone music library so I can play them is by re-downloading the songs through the iTunes Store app.  Which is super annoying because now it is about 10 songs that keep doing this, and they are in multiple playlists.  Is anyone else having this problem and have you found any fixes?  Really regretting purchasing the iTunes Match (which is not enabled on my iPhone, just on my computer).

How to create custom ringtones ...
    1. Open iTunes.
    2. Find the song that you want to make into a ringtone.
    3. Listen to the song and find the part of it you want to use. The chorus may be a good place to start.
    4. Write down the start and stop times of the clip.
    5. Right-click the song and select "Get Info."
    6. Click the "Options" tab.
    7. Type in the start time of your ringtone in the text box next to "Start Time" in the minutes:seconds (i.e., 2:01) format.
    8. Type in the end time of your ringtone in the text box next to "Stop Time." Make sure the ringtone is no more than 30 seconds long.
    9. Click "OK."
    10. Right-click your song again and select "Convert Selection to AAC." Wait for iTunes to convert your song. It will create a duplicate version.
    11. Right-click the ringtone and select "Delete."
    12. Click on the "Keep Files" button.
    13. Find the file. It's usually in your User folder under "Music > iTunes > iTunes Music" and under the band's name. It will have an extension of m4a.
    14. Replace the m4a extension of your ringtone with m4r. You can either double-click slowly to rename your file, or right-click and select "Get Info" on a Mac or "Rename" on a Windows PC.
    15. Click "Use .m4r" or the PC equivalent when the system warns you that the change may affect the use of your file.
    16. Double-click the ringtone file. ITunes will automatically add it to your ringtones folder in your iTunes Music Library.
    17. Connect your iPhone and sync your ringtones.
Oh, also to change a file extension. (not sure on Mac), but in Windows you need to go to "control panel" select "folder options". You need to uncheck the box "hide file extension for known file types". This will allow you to view and change the files extensions.
    Hope this is useful ...

My iphone after syncing with my mac is saying "64 items could not be synced, see i tunes for details" however I cant see what items are not synced as no obvious message. Where do I look for this info?

Connect your phone to iTunes, then right-click on the name of your phone on the left sidebar and select Reset Warnings.  Then sync again and you should get a warning listing the problem files.

    Hello frankini
Continue your troubleshooting with the article below to resolve issues with your iPod touch not being seen in iTunes. It will walk you through checking the drivers as well as any security software that may be blocking it.

  • IPod touch will no longer sync with my music library on iTunes since restoring to factory settings

I had to restore the ipod when it locked my son out as he'd forgotten the passcode.
I have around 1000 songs in my music library on itunes. Sync all songs is checked, but it saying there are 0 songs.
I'd like to sync all songs to the ipod.  Can anyone help please?

Syncing is iTunes keeping your iTunes library (or a defined portion of the iTunes library) "in sync" (the same as) the library on your iPod.  And iTunes syncing of content generally goes in one direction only, from iTunes library on computer to the iPod.  That's why, if you want to sync it to a NEW iTunes library, iTunes is warning you that the existing library on the iPod will be replaced.
So, you cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store). However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your computer, you can add them to your iTunes library.  Once your iTunes library is consolidated with ALL of your songs, you can sync your iPod to it.
NOTE:  If you have songs previously purchased from the iTunes Store on the iPod, you can re-download them at no cost, from the iTunes Store Purchased screen.  The link to Purchased is on the iTunes Store Home screen, under QUICK LINKS.

  • How do I remove one of the calendars from iCloud but keep it on the iPhone to sync with Outlook by USB and keep the other calendars synced on iCloud ?

iPhone 5, Macs and iPads at home, Windoze7 system at work.
Using iCloud to sync calendars, contacts, etc on all the home devices.  Used USB cable to sync at work with the Windows system, with the Outlook 2010 corporate account (corporate server).  I need only the Outlook calendar to be synced, syncing the contacts created too many problems with duplication, etc.  No need for that.  Worked fine until the latest upgrate to iOS7 and iTunes 11.1.  Used to have a calendar that was not on iCloud and was simply and exclusively syncing between the iPhone and the Windows computer at work. The other 3 calendars synced fine with the macs and iOS devices via iCloud but not with the machine at work - keeping private records private.
Upon the iOS upgrade, all calendars are now on iCloud.  I am no longer able to remove one - for security too - from the iCloud and sync it with the Windows computer exclusively.  I managed to sync it once on the PC with iTunes by switching iCloud off on the iPhone before connection by USB cable.  Trying it again, it tells me that it will erase all items on the Outlook account (the "more than 25% of your records are going to change" alert) and won't add or modify any.  I stopped the sync in time...
Tried on the iCloud site for a solution to remove the calendar, nothing.
There is no iCloud setup on this corporate computer - no access permitted. The USB cable connection is the only solution and up to the upgrade of the iOS this went seamlessly.
    Any solution out there?
    Thanks
    Vladski

I share a similar situation (usb iTunes sync with Outlook with my corporate laptop; personal calendar on icloud).
With IOS7, at first, iTunes/Windows does not propose Outlook sync anymore. I need to switch off calendar from iTunes to enable usual usb sync with Outlook. I had to sync it twice while checking "replace iphone data" to get a stable behaviour (like before) IOS7.When I try to re-enable icloud calendars, it proposes me to merge them...
I did not test merging so far...
IOS7 and iTunes 11.1 are not completely polished ;-)

  • How can I restore data from my iPhone after sync with macbook pro?

I accidentally syncronized my Iphone with MacBook Pro on iTunes and lost all data from my phone (calendar, contacts, photos, etc.). Is there a way to recover that information? Thank you!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You cannot. However, you can solve this problem by setting the iPhone as a new device and upgrading iOS in Settings -> Software Update.
After upgrading iOS, open Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings. Finally, Setup Assistant will let you restore the backup.

  • Hidden Contact Subfolders are visible on iPhone after sync with Exchange Server 2007

    Hello,
We have encountered an issue where synchronizing the iPhone with Contacts from an Exchange Server 2007 mailbox, causes hidden contact subfolders (from Outlook) to be visible and appear in the Groups list in the Contacts App on the iPhone.  This does not occur with Exchange Server 2010 mailboxes.
We have a 3rd party application that creates hidden subfolders in the default Contacts folder on Exchange Server 2007 mailboxes.  The hidden folders do not display in the Outlook client, Blackberry or on an Android phone.  We did see that they were showing up in Outlook Web Access until we applied this Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 Rollup 2 patch unto the Exchange server:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2210042 - A sub contact folder is still visible after you set the "PR_ATTR_HIDDEN" attribute to "True" in an Exchange Server 2007 environment.
After the patch was applied, the hidden contacts do not show up anywhere else.  However, when we synced the mailbox to an iPhone and synced existing contacts, all of the hidden folders appear in the Contact Groups list.  Is there a way to hide the hidden sub contact folders on the iPhone and prevent them from appearing in the Contact Group lists?
Any help provided would be most appreciated.
    Thanks and Best Regards

    Hi SBuchan,
I have an open case with Microsoft about it.  It is an issue with ActiveSync in Exchange 2007 that sends the hidden objects.  Microsoft tried to resolve this in Exchange 2010 by sending a delete message after sending the hidden objects to remove them from the device.  Am awaiting to see if they will approve a design change to Exchange 2007 ActiveSync to prevent the synching of hidden objects.

  • I am missing a bunch of apps on my new 4s iphone (after syncing with my 3G)

I just purchased the new iphone 4s and after setting it up and syncing it with my old 3G info, I am now missing a bunch of the apps... please help...

Find My iPhone should be a downloadable app.
HD recording is built-in to the latest Camera app, but you also need to have the iPhone 4S to get the best HD
FaceTime requires an Apple ID and at least one contact with a Mac running OS X 10.6.6 or later and the FaceTime app, or an iPhone 4 (2010 or later)  or iPhone 4S (2011).  It's embedded into the Contacts applet (Phone > Contacts > touch a contact > touch FaceTime button).  If that's too much work, apps in the App Store can automate this for you.

  • I have Itunes on my PC with close to 1000 songs. The songs were also on my Ipod. I tried to sync with my Ipad 2 and blew the music away on my Itunes. Can it be retrieved?

I have Itunes on my PC with close to 1000 songs. The songs were also on my Ipod. I connected my Ipad2 and blew away all of my music. Can the music be retrieved and if so how can i do it? tks

Sure it can, transfer the songs from your backup that you maintained on an external drive,DVDs,cloud storage solution.
    You didn't have a backup?
If you purchased them from iTunes, plug in your iPod-once it mounts in iTunes right click on the iPod icon and select transfer purchases.
If they were not purchased from iTunes-google is your friend.
    PS.
If files are important to you-always have multiple copies on separate media.

  • If I backup my iPhone to iCloud, can I restore it without losing data after syncing with new computer/iTunes?

The laptop my phone was synced to broke, so I had up get a new computer. I know that if I try to sync my iPhone 4 (running iOS 6) to the new iTunes on the new computer I'll lose my data. I have everything backed up to iCloud. Could I restore my iPhone after syncing with the new iTunes?

    yes

  • ITunes settings reset with every new version, and I get: "...the information on the iphone is synced with another user account"

Windows 7 64-bit with MS Outlook 2010. I've seen this now probably 10 times. When I first installed iTunes, I selected:
Preferences -> Devices -> "Prevent iPhonse, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically".
and on my iPhone, I selected:
Info -> Sync Contacts with: Outlook.
Info -> Sync Calendars with: Outlook
Info -> Other -> Sync notes with: Outlook
This works great, and the settings stick.  As soon as apple releases any new version (even minor) of iTunes and I install, I immediately receive: "...the information on the iphone is synced with another user account", and have to merge my calendar and contacts, but then once I get into iTunes, I find that ALL of the above settings (prevent syncing, sync calendar, contacts, notes) get reset and are turned off! I am running as a user account with Admin privaleges, but I don't right-click -> "Run as administrator" when I perform the iTunes update.
To reiterate, once I change the settings back, things work normally until the next iTunes update at which it gives me that sync error, and resets my sync options.
    Any idea? Thanks!
    -Brian

Is someone else using the PC and iTunes?
Create another user for the PC with your name, and try syncing that way.
This way it wont conflic with the other user.

  • When I delete a podcast in iTunes it is still on iPhone after sync; just in the cloud.

When I delete a podcast in iTunes it is still on iPhone after sync; just in the cloud (it has a close and download icon). All I want to do is delete it. I Now I have to delete in manually from all devices. I have not listened to it either.
Also, I cannot use the selling to delete played podcasts, because I want to keep some of them.
    I have IOS 8.1, iTunes 12.0.. and OSX 10.10.1. iPhones 4,5 and 6 and iPad Air 2
In the good old days, you deleted in iTunes and the next time you synced it, it was removed from the iPhone, iPods and iPads. Now, I have to update them all.
Note: Subscription takes place on my Mac, not the other devices.
Am I missing something, because this is a real pain?
    Thanks
    Tony..

You aren't mssing anything. As far as I am aware, this is simply the process that you need to take to remove them.
