No Control Center Icon on macbook 10.6.8 and Brother printer MFC 665CW
I don't have a control center icon on the menu bar.
I drilled down from applications-printers and found controlcenter.app
When I click on the controlcenter.app the screen flashes but does not open.
Can anybody help ?

I have macbook airport extreem and brother printer/scanner DCP-330C and everything works fine.
I can print wireless.
The only thing that irritates me is, when I start my macbook I first see a screen with MFL-ProSuite, I quit then a screen with connect with USB, I quit and then I see a small blue screen.
Is there a way to get rid of these things, so I can start directly with the things I want to do.

FrankThat is something that has to do with the brother software. Doesn't have anything to do with the airport base station.
I would try and Contact brother to see about disabling it.
What I think , is probably because the printer is on the airport not the computer so brothers software is getting confused.
See about deleting just the software and not the drivers. That is if you dont need the software.

Does Logitech Control Center crash my MacBook?
Dear All,
just a question - Yesterday I installed the Logitech Control Center (2.2.2) together with my new VX Revolution mouse. Besides the fact that I love this mouse my computer crashed two times in the last two days.
The only option was to switch it off and on again (I never had this before - thanks to Apple!!!)
Did anyone else see a similar problem?

AlbertLogitech is first and foremost a PC oriented provider. They have really neat toys that we Mac users want. It has been long since known for years Logitech is late in developing for the Mac equivalent or keeping up on updates. But we still suck up all their gear that will even remotely work on our machines and suffer through the mostly antiquated poorly developed software that is sometimes needed to get all the features for your device. I have had the same problems with earlier versions of LCC, but back then it was not as important to have the latest version because the features were the same across many versions and you could find one, I have used many versions that were severely old, that did you the least amount of damage and still get your mouse to work nicely. Even sometimes not even running LCC and letting the Mac Prefs run the device was on the only way to get things to work.
The MX Rev, of which they sent me one (for free) to make up for the 5 MX 1000's that died prior to the ends of there times, I love it. But in the first release the Mac LCC was limited as to how the many services that were available to the buttons, I still muddled on with my cool new toy. A while later I mysteriously received a questionnaire asking what I would like to see in the next (2.2.2) version of the LCC. I mentioned extended and equal options for all buttons and had some personal requests as well. Well in the next, current, release there was what I wanted. Woo Hoo! BUT as with all first releases of the LCC it has its bugs. I have been for the most part, spared any complications due to the LCC and have not had to revert to an earlier version, loosing features. BUT I have been having severe and bizarre OS problems since updating to 10.4.10 and the first place I headed was the LCC and fortunately that was not the problem. As mentioned before Logitech is not always forthright on the up take in maintaining their Mac software and Logitech will say that it is compatible for that OS, but it's the same version as before and was never fully acclimated for the update. I have spoken with their "off shore" tech support and when I was able to finally get my problem across, scrolling in iTunes (7.2 - scrolling reverses at high spin) they were at a complete loss, escalated it and I have yet to hear back. It's been months.
Unfortunately, the only way to get through the problems is to revert, but at the moment you loose many nice and functional features. I have had to contemplate this myself a couple of times. But if I remember, it was listed that you were running 10.4.10. That's your main problem.
SO to get to my point, 10.4.10 has jacked up a lot. I spent a large amount of time reverting many machines back to 10.4.9 or earlier, because 10.4.10 just does not want to play well and has caused many new and very bizarre problems. And this OS reversion was not a typical process. It took at least a 7-Pass wipe to completely clear the drives, otherwise there were files left on the drives that interfered with the new install and you were no better off with the new retro install.
I am marginally back to 10.4.9, mostly limping and currently talking to Apple in detail to investigate what is going on and am running the LCC 2.2.2 with no apparent problems . . . . yet. Or that have been traced to it as a hindrance in my Frankensteined install of 10.4.9.
Since you are running 10.4.10, I would confidently say that there is your problem. Only because I have had many really weird things happen since and after 10.4.10 and reverting to 10.4.9 has carried residual problems that only surfaced in 10.4.10. But LCC 2.2.2 is functioning good for the most part back in 10.4.9. Most to the time they will show the compatibility range of the LCC, but this time, it's "Mac® OSX 10.3.9-10.4.'x'". x = ? The last I saw was that LCC 2.2.2 was only rated to 10.4.9.
I hope this is food for thought can help your investigation, if not help you understand why there may be problem. -
Upgraded iphone 4 to ios7. Swipe up to get control center works when it feels like it, which is seldom. I have turned options on and off, restarted the phone, no go. Btw, swipe down on lock screen to see events no good as well. Any ideas.
I had this problem also. First thing I tried was to reset your device.
Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. That seemed to help.
But then I discovered that a light swipe starting just off the screen at the bottom worked well.
When I tapped and swiped on the screen I often did not get the Control Center to come up. But after practicing some with a swipe beginning just off the bottom of the screen I get the Control Center to come up every time. -

It only works on iOS 7. You use one finger - try doing it on the home screen.
It may be disabled in settings (I don't know where it is as I don't have my iOS 7 device on me right now).

Gnome-control-center crashes 3.14.1

I just updated to gnome 3.14.1, and now the gnome-shell background is plain blue, and gnome-control-center segfaults when I go to the 'background' menu with the following output in the terminal:

At the moment of the crash it appears to have a bunch of threads looking through the images in my home dir, though this may be unrelated.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Last edited by gonr (2014-11-09 05:36:00)This is a known issue to be fixed with nautilus-3.14.1. This happens when you enable "show desktop icons" from gnome tweak tools.
A workaround is to kill the nautilis from terminal and it starts working. Do like this from terminal:
$ nautilus -q
Now nautilus (Files) opens properly and desktop icons are also visible. -
Bluetooth turn off - Control center
Hi,
I use bluetooth to answer my calls however when I turn off the bluetooth from control center it shows that bluetooth turned off and the small icon at top goes away however if I look at the settings-> bluetooth it shows as ON. when I go inside the bluetooth option the button is in OFF mode. So there may be bug in displaying the correct status of bluetooth or it does not get switched off.

This happen after i download and install some tech demos, that was two months ago. Today, i was going to do a restore but my restore points don't go back two months ago. What should i do. Can i customize control center in iOS 7?
As you know, iOS 7 came with a new feature called CONTROL CENTER that you can access WiFi, Bluetooth, and some features with just a swipe up of ur iOS device.
Here in the Philippines, some users use their data connection rather than WiFI....so if they want access the internet through their data connection, ofcourse they go to the settings to open it..... And as I observed. I didnt see any "Data Connection" button on iOS or even you cant customize it....
SO is their any customizing tips here or not????
if not, can i suggest to have an update that you can CUSTOMIZED the control center for the sake of ease of using their iOS device........
I hope Apple will put these in their next update..

Thank you and GOD BLESS!!!Yep. Here's something more frustrating. From the lock screen, I can see the handle at the screen bottom. But at the home screen, it either doesn't exist or is hidden by the app dock at the bottom of the screen. So it's pretty frustrating to have to turn the iPad off and turn it back on just to get to the control center from the lock screen.
I'm not even gonna bring up the fact that even at the lock screen, I have to swipe multiple times in order for it to work. -
Catalyst Control Center crashes with new video driver update
Hi Folks,
I just updated to the newest rev of the ATI driver (April 28, 2009). Now, catalyst control center crashes at startup, opening a dialog box that says, "catalyst control center monitoring program has encountered a problem and needs to close".
Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas on how to fix it?

How to improve preformance on Control Center?
Hi all!
Does anyone know how to improve performance on Control Center? Its very slow when openning and refreshing
We are using OWB client 11.1.0.6.0 and OWB Repository 11.1.0.1.1
The performance was improved when we cleaned up the deployment and execution repository, buy it took almost 3 days to finish, the script used was purge_audit_template.sql
If anybody knows any other way to improve the performance will be great

I also find that purge audit template script very slow. I'v found another one that is much faster and speeds up the control center.
Before running this script you must log in as repository owner and run stop_service.sql (found in owb_home\rtp\sql). After the script, run start_service.sql

Software Center icon in system tray never goes away

We are in the process of migrating sccm 2007 to 2012 and noticed the Software Center icon sits in the system tray and never goes away. The system does not have new software available for awhile and the system was also rebooted. We are seeing this on many
machines. What is the expected behavior? I have attached an image.
This never goes away.open the software center and look for any applications made available in 'available software' tab. You can hide this window by disabling the setting from Client Settings: Computer Agent\Show notifications for new deployments = "False".
You can also configure the User Experience\User Notifications configuration setting for the app deployment to "Display in Software Center, and only show notifications for computer restarts".

MSI control center is reading GPU voltage as 0.000V and frequency NA???
So when i did the re-install of windows and got everything back up and working, windows did not ask me to install the on-board video drivers and i currently have it disabled anyhow as i have pny gtx 660ti that i'm using, but in MSI control center it say GPU voltage 0.000V and if you go mini control center for sensors and temps it say GPU frequency NA, is this the on-board stuff it is looking for or is this for my video card i don't quit understand as my video card is working A ok.

Logically, because unlike you I do not keep my cellular data on at all times as I do not have an unlimited data plan. I only turn on cellular data when I am on the go and I do not have access to a wifi network. Therefore my need for a button in control center that turns on cellular data. And this would be very usefull to other iPhone users outside the US and Canada, where unlimited cellular data plans are not so affordable.
