No control of Aps through ITunes

Just updated to 4.2.1 and can't manipulate aps on my iPhone 3G after synching through ITunes. The "Sync Aps" check box, the whole app list and app pages are grey (unaccessable). Rebooted phone and re-synched. Reloaded ITunes. No help. Seems like a 4.2.1. problem.

You can use a simple USB DAQ card and a stepper motor to do this Job. The main problem would be is to find who is speaking and where the webcam is currently focused.
The best solution is the one you find it by yourself

  • Parental Controls(Enable Restrictions) and installing apps through ITunes store (PC)

Through Parental control(Restrictions), the iTunes Store and Installing apps can be disabled on iPhone. Now is this feature can prevent apps getting installed if Apps are purchased through iTunes Store in PC and synced with iTunes? Is it possible to disable syncing with iTunes?

So you are saying that, even if there is Restrictions, with iTunes and Installing apps disabled, applications can be purchased through iTunes in PC and can be synced with iPhone and get the applications installed. Is that a correcy assumption?

My iPad screen is extremely damaged, I need to wipe iPad clean but can't see the screen. Can I control iPad settings through my pc/iTunes?

    You can try an alternative.
This is the quickest thing that came to mind, but if you want to wipe it with no care of the data on the device at all:
Place device in recovery mode (turn off device > hold home button + plug in to iTunes (WHILE HOLDING BUTTON)).
iTunes will give you an error saying it detected a device in recovery mode, you need to restore to use device. Restoring device is a factory reset. AKA a wipe of the device

I just downloaded iTunes on my new PC and all the music that I have purchased through ITunes that was backed up on the cloud won't play. It is telling me I must authorize this computer before it can play pre purchased music. how do I authorize my computer to play this music?
    Thank you for any assistance.

Tigon's already got you covered here. But I'll chime in with some English localisation advice.
There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • Can I play the music on Apple TV through iTunes?

OK, this is not easy to explain, hope this makes sense:
My Apple TV is connected both to my TV and to my HiFi System. In order to listen to music, I always have to switch the TV on and navigate through the Apple TV Menu.
Would it be possible to select and play the music on my Apple TV directly through iTunes on my iMac which is synced to the Apple TV?
This way I wouldn't always have to turn the TV on and fiddle around with the tiny remote control, when I just want to listen to some music through my HiFi system.
Basically what I am looking for is to open iTunes on my Mac, click on Apple TV on the left under devices and just click on any title or playlist to play it over Apple TV.
Any ideas and help are greatly appreciated!
Sorry if I made it sound more complicated than it is, my english is not that fluent anymore...

Chenks and OP; yes, I do this a lot without the TV on. I just use the ATV as an Airtunes client sending the sound from iTunes to it with the remote speaker choice at the bottom right. Just turn on the amp, leave the TV off and navigate on the computer. But, the OP says he wants to choose a playlist etc under the ATV icon, that won't work, he'll have to make his music selections in iTunes as though he is using the computer to listen.

Is there a way to down load specific, individual songs on my iphone 5 or ipad 2, through iTunes Match, rather than having to download the entire album in the Cloud?

Begin by tapping on the Settings app.
Scroll to the Store menu and tap that.
This is where you can manage your Automatic Download settings. You can control Music, Apps, and Books (if you have the iBooks app installed) here. Slide to On any of the kinds of files you want iCloud to automatically download to your device.

  • How are you able to sync 2 iOS decivies on my computer through iTunes without having the same apps, music, etc. on both?

How am i able to sync my iPod 4th GEN and my iPhone 4s on my computer through iTunes without having the same apps, music, etc. on both decivies?

You will need to setup separate user account s on the computer. That is the only true way to separate all data and info. User accounts show when the computer first starts up, then you choose yours. The screen to choose a user account may not appear if you only have one user account setup on the computer. On Mac, go to System Preferences>Accounts/Users and Groups>click plus at bottom left and follow prompts. Setup as administrator. PC...
Create a New User Account for Windows XP
From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
    Open User Accounts.
Select Create a new account and follow the instructions to complete the account setup process. Setup as Administrator
Once the new account is created, choose Log Off from the Start menu.
Log into the newly created user account.
Open iTunes and try syncing again.
Create a New User Account in Windows Vista
From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
Open User Accounts.   Then Manage another account or Add or Remove
Select Create a new account  and follow the instructions to complete the account setup process. Choose Administrator in checkbox.
Once the new account is created, choose Start menu Log Off from account.
Log into the newly created user account.
Open iTunes and try syncing again.

  • Can't update iPhone 4S to iOS 5.1 through iTunes or phone itself

I've tried updating my iPhone 4S to iOS 5.1 through iTunes(latest update) and all i get is the 'Contacting iPhone software update server' box and then nothing. It just stays on this box with nothing happening for as long you allow it.  I've also tried through other Wi-fi networks with no success either.  I don't have wi-fi at home and can't really go wandering all over the country side looking for free wi-fi to use...
    Any help would be great...

This has happened to me as well. Trying to update either an iPhone 4S or an iPad2, I'm getting the dreaded "waiting for update server" message. 80billion in cash and you can't build data centers to match what Amazon and Facebook seem to have no problem doing?
Here's a new problem. The update to iTunes 10.6 downloaded no problem. But guess what? The latest versions of Pages and iMovie will only run on iOS 5.1 sooo they won't update on your devices. And don't get me started on how Siri was ruined from its original implementation as an independent app into the slow piece of non-understanding junk it has become today.
The update to iOS 5 was a nightmare that failed over and over until I finally had to search through online geek forums - something that I am not supposed to have to resort to with Apple products - in order to find out how to trick my devices into overcoming what essentially amounted to poor quality control before release on that install.
Now I'm going through the same experience. Again. I am reminded of the 90s before Jobs returned. It's clear now that his presence was needed as the final quality controller, and no one exists who can fill that role as of yet. Big doors of opportunity are opening up to people who can get the customer component right, again.

  • Playing (not stealing) a friend's iPod music through iTunes

I develop an application for control and playback of iTunes from external control systems, and have been asked if we can control playback of the content on an iPod. We set up inexpensive macs to act as music servers, and they want the doctors who come in and use the system to be able to plug their personal player into the system for playback during an operation.
In testing, I can plug in and control any of the three iPods around the house that use our account with no problem. But, if someone brings over an iPod and plugs it into my computer, can I play back the music on it through my computer? It seems reasonable.
+Please no flaming about "Because you're stealing" and the like. I pay for ALL of my songs. It's not the same as taking the music from the iPod with a hack, or keeping a fully-loaded iPod from a friend permanently. It's like someone bringing a CD over for a party and leaving with it afterwards.+

If you want to play iPod songs through iTunes you need to change the setting in the iPod's Summary tab to "manually manage songs and videos": Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
Thanks. I'm not sure how that relates. For example, I just plugged my iPhone into my PC that has never seen this iPhone before and the iPhone's music is all grayed out. The "Manually manage.." check is not checked on the PC, where it is checked on my Mac.
Then I plugged my daughter's Touch into the same PC (which also have never been connected) and I can access the music. The "manually manage..." check IS checked... What gives?

  • Control my iPhone though iTunes

    Hello
I would like to do the opposite of the current Remote application: I would like to control my iPhone with iTunes on my iMac through the Wifi.
Basically, my iPhone is connected to an amplifier and I would like to play whatever I have in my iTunes on it.
Does anyone know if it is possible?

But surely the playlists you have on your iPhone you also have in iTunes on your computer?

  • Sudden rubbish sound coming through iTunes

Now this is a confusing one for me.
A CD which in the year since I downloaded it and which sounded fine when played back through iTunes has suddenly started to sound dreadful with distortion, mainly at the bass end. It sounds like (a) the volume control is up too high, (b) the recording levels were on "oversaturate" and (c) for the more senior iTunes users, like there is a lot of fluff on the stylus.
Thinking that the speakers attached to my notebook had finally given up the ghost, I tried listening through my headphones, with the same result. I to played the original CD on my notebook. Again, distortion. Played the CD on my hi-fi system. Sounded wonderful, so not he CD. Then I burnt a disc of the troublesome songs and played them back on my notebook. Sounded perfect. Finally, checked out the sound on my iPod. No distortion!
This is not making sense. What's happened since I last connected my iPod up to iTunes? Oh yes! Only a few days ago I updated to iTunes 7.1. Could this be the problem?
Your help would be much appreciated.

There have been several reports where MP3 files have been damaged somehow, but AAC & purchased files still play OK....there is a fairly long discussion on this in the installing & upgrading forum.
When you say "A CD which in the year since I downloaded it" do you mean you ripped it using iTunes?

  • Can't finish Downloading rented movie purchased through iTunes on my iPad

I rented two movies through iTunes that quit downloading part way through on march 1 and 2. If I go back to the rental area it says to watch and I hit it, it takes me to the video and says video is not downloaded go to your downloads and I have none showing!! How do I download now?  I also cannot find them on my iCloud :(((

    Yes, indeed there is.
Ensure that airplay is not disabled on your Apple TV and that both devices are on the same network. Then when playing the movie on your iPad, select the airplay icon in the control bar, tap it, select the Apple TV from the contextual menu that appears. The movie should now stream to your Apple TV.

  • Can't update apps via App Store, only on PC through iTunes?

Just got a new 4G 32BG Touch to replace my faithful old 2G.  A couple of days ago, it stopped letting me update or purchase apps from the App Store directly from the iPod.  I can through iTunes on my PC.  iPod is 5.0.1, iTunes is 10.5.
I have done a hard reset, I have logged off/on my Apple account, still get message that says "Cannot connect to iTunes Store".  I can surf the web, remote control my PC...so it's connected to my network.  I have also tried it at work, same message.  I can browse the apps, and it asks for my password after hitting "install".   Then the message pops up.
Any ideas?  Totally lost, because I never had any issues with my old 2G, other than it was starting to show it's age.

    Okay, that was weird....
Online support told me to call Apple Care.  After giving my serial #, heard there was at least a 15 minute wait.  So, I waited...and waited...and waited.   I had tried to download an app last night, and again this morning at home and at work.  Same problem, "cannot connect to iTunes store".  But I was bored, so I tried it again, and it worked!   Just to make sure, I downloaded a second app.  No problem.  Could be the high traffic, could be Apple finally figured out what the problem was.  Or, they could have heard my name and known they did NOT want to talk to me!

  • Hissing and crackling through ITunes on MacBook Pro.

Funny that most complaints about this issue are from people running ITunes through their PC's. I have the same problem through ITunes on my Mac. Play music through VLC player and it plays perfectly!!

What about Quicktime Player?  I don't know how much of QT VLC uses and I'm trying to test under different configurations.

  • Trying to purchase HD movies through iTunes

I have a macbook pro with retina display, running OSx v. 10.8, w/ 2.6ghz intel processor and 16 gb ram; Why am I getting an error when trying to purchase HD dvd's through iTunes?  I've checked the requirements and these specs exceed the requirements.  When can an update be expected to fix this issue?  It seems several users are having the same problem.

Your computer doesnt looks like it should have this kind of problem.
If itunes doesnt think your computer is able to run the program you may want to reinstall itunes.
You can follow this http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1199 and it shows how to troubleshoot a software problem.
You can reset the SMC http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 that controls all kinds of hardware sensors.
