No control pannel for my touch pad?????

I got a new Hp Laptop and I some how managed to change the settings for the touch pad??? I am unable to turn the touch pad off by pressing the small button above the pad and the scroll along the side of the bar is not working anymore. Its fustrating!!
I tried to download somethings on the HP websites to give my a control pannel under my Control Settings / Mouse hardware section, but nothing happened.
Does anyone have any suggestions please??

Before Reinstalling drivers I would try going to start>control panel>mouse>then at the top you should see synaptics touch pad. click there then click device defaults. this will be much faster and should restore it. The problem is even reinstalling the driver won't fix it cause the driver is good and will most likely set your device back to the same settings. In vista this is normal, the way around would be to uninstall any driver for the touchpad before reinstalling it this can be done through the hardware manager. It will work if the other fails let me know if you need to know how to do it. Gangles answer my work but in Vista due to where the user settings are stored for the synaptics pointing device aren't really deleted while reinstalling the driver hence the driver will read those.

You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
If you detect a faulty add-on, you should contact its author for support. You can also search for alternatives. Site filters are relatively common in the add-ons gallery: [http://addons.mozilla.org addons.mozilla.org].

Driver for touch pad on Win 10 Preview

Win 10 Preview 9926 is working great on my Pavillion laptop with one exception - there seems to be no driver for the touch pad so I can't disable it. Is there a driver for the Win 10 preview or one that will work with it?

Scroll/touch pad not working updated Firefox (4.0.1)

I know others are having a similar problem but I can't find a specific solution for my laptop. It is an HP Pavilion DV7 with Windows 7. I used FF for ages with no problem but as soon as I updated to the new version, I lost my ability to scroll using the touch pad. As with other people, the pad works fine for IE and all other apps, it's just FF4 it won't work with. I'm not overly tech-savvy so if anyone can offer help in a fairly simplistic way, I'd be most grateful. I'm getting so frustrated and have tried for months to get used to it, to no avail. I've tried updating the driver, etc, but nothing works. And I really don't want to lose all of my bookmarks, passwords, etc :(

I expect that is a coincidence.
Open Windows Control panel and check your mouse settings for the touch pad.
Someone did indicate that on theirs, the horizontal and vertical scroll were reversed or the same. (''mouse drivers'')

Control step for exception in BPM

i am tring to learn exception in BPM.
i inserted this Send step (Synchronous) in exception branch in block. and then inserted control step in exception branch.
i created Errorsend as abbreviation on exception in block.
and assigned this to system error under exceptions in send step. and then defined on Exception handler,
and now <b>i could not define anything</b> on exception in control step for action as Throw Exception, i am not looking at Throw alert.
i made receiver jdbc error and also mapping error in intentionally. when i see sxmb_moni, i can see jdbc error as normal process like not using exception branch.
i would like to complete exception branch and control step for finishing touches.

HP ProBook 4530s mouse touch pad

I have disabled mouse touch pad. Having restarted laptop I noticed that LED indicator for mouse touch pad was turned off and mouse pointer accepts finger moves/clicks on touch pad (it was enabled) until I logged on when LED turned on and mouse touch pad was disabled . Is this normal behaviour? The same is happening when laptop is powered on.

Equium M40X-189 - Touch Pad has stopped working

The touch pad froze. I restarted the computer and the touch pad worked. This happened several times, and then restarting did not clear the problem. I checked under Device Manager several times and sometimes the mouse was listed and sometimes it wasn't! I Restored the computer to an earlier time when the touch pad was working but this didn't fix it. A Toshiba Agent suggested the soft ware was corrupt and I should back up every thing and use the recovery disc to reload the software for the touch pad. I'm not ready to do this yet. Currently an ALPS Pointing Device and an HID Compliant Mouse are listed under Device Manager and both are erroneously reported as working. Any other ideas on how to fix the touch pad?

In my opinion you should try to use external mouse to see if this occur again and again. Believe me on this way it is not easy to say why this happen.
Maybe there is some hardware problem but it must be tested. If you preinstall the unit with recovery CD the unit will be clean and on this way it is not possible to say that some additional software has any kind of influence on this.

V570 touch pad help

Just got the v570 a few days ago -- so far so good.
Is there some sort of instructions for the touch pad ... I can't figure out all the funcions.
My main issue is the zom (not the pinch zoom for browsers)
At some point a finger gesture zoomed in and now all my applications are huge ... the screen resolution is set to the max so they should be smaller ... even the task bar and start menu seem large.
How do I zoom out to normal size?

Try holding down Ctrl then zoom out and see if it helps.
For taskbar, right click on taskbar -> taskbar tab -> check "use small icon".

UltraNav touch pad and Windows 8

Hi!
A few months have passed now and I've become used to Windows 8. And now I am missing a touch screen ...
However, I am really wondering why the integrated touch pad works so poorly (in general, and especially with Win 8). MacBooks should be the benchmark there - is it really that hard?
I know that I can configure loads of options for the touch pad (UltraNav), but it still won't be smooth and will neither replace the finger swipes on a touch screen. Am I missing something? What are the best practices to use the touch pad with Windows 8? Or is there a touch screen available indeed?

you can disable it in your bios menu.
Otherwise you will have to install the ultranav drivers.

Touch pad not taking driver properly

I have a snyaptic touch pad on my laptop. It was well supported when I was using window 8 x64 and x86 as well as on windows 7 ultimate. But after
I upgraded my OS to windows 8.1 x64 it doesn't work properly. It shows my touch pad as a wheel mouse using PS/2 port. On going to setting in mouse properties->Device settings there are not any options to scrolling and other functions.
Just there are options for left button click and right button click. My laptop is Acer Aspire 4741G (It too supports
Alps pointing device but it doesn't work properly. My touch pad clicks automatically in quick random time so that i can't use it for moving the cursor and scrolling pages. It also worked properly when I was in windows 8 and windows 7 ultimate.)

X230t touch pad not registering clicks after spill

Hello. I accidently spilled non-acetone nail polish remover on my keyboard a day ago. I immediately turned off the laptop and wiped everything down with a paper towel. The keyboard and track point seem to be working fine, but the touch pad is having problems. It still registers when I move my finger around on it and even is able to scroll down web pages, but it will not register clicks when I click down on the touch pad or even when I tap it with my finger. Will I have to replace the whole palm rest area or should I just wait for it to dry some more? Thank you.

Hi,
First, download the latest Synaptics driver installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

Next, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features and if you see the entry 'Synaptics Pointing Device Driver', right click it and select Uninstall.
If you did need to uninstall this, restart the notebook.
When windows has fully reloaded, or if you didn't need to uninstall an existing Synaptics application, open your Downloads folder, right click the Synaptics installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook again.
You should now find the settings you require if you open windows Control Panel, open Mouse, click the Device Settings tab and then click the settings button.
