No Conversation History neither in Outlook Conversation History nor in Lync Conversation Tab

Good day, people!
I use Lync Server 2013 and MSOffice Lync 2013 and also Exchange 2010.
All users in our company felt fine about their conversation history in lync.
A couple weeks ago it started: i created new AD Users - and their conversation history did not save. Neither in Outlook Conversation History nor in Conversations Tab in Lync. All checkboxes in Lync Personal Options marked as needed.
And I remarked that new users had no Meetings Tab in Lync and also their Register had less folders than mine. I think the reason is not in rights of access, because they are the same domain admins as me.
Any suggestions, friends?
By the way! I have got a warning on that computers, which are not saving conversation history:
The description for Event ID 11 from source Lync cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

I thoght about that. And i figured it out.
I compared two users. And differences were in these Attributes (Attribute Editor Tab):
msExchMailboxTemplateLink
msExchELCMailboxFlags
msExchMobileMailboxPolicyLink
But! Very soon i understood, that the problem is not in these Attributes, because both of these users could see Conversation History on another computer (it was specially created virtual machine).
Both of users are in the same OU.
Also, both of computers are in the same OU. Both of the computers have a clear install of Windows 8.1.
The diffrence only in installed software.
Now i'm checking the vary with Software. I'm installing the software to find out which of them perhaps prevent saving Conversation History. And i'll try ADSIEdit. Thanks for the cue, Baasky!

  • Some Conversations Not Grouping in Outlook 2010

I have just purchased outlook 2010 about a month ago and have already noticed that it is very quirky, and I am kind of disappointed in the performance of the program. I am a home user, and I like the functionality of Outlook as I am used to it from work
and the ability it has to hold my contacts, calendars and emails all in one place.
Anyway, the problem I am having at this current time with Outlook is that the conversation function is not working properly. For a majority of my group emails (about 70%), the conversation feature works great and groups all of my "chain" emails between friends
or family together (based on topic). However, I have been noticing a few email chains are not grouping properly. Sometimes outlook will leave one message out of the group or it just wont group the emails at all, and I am left with a cluttered and unorganized
    inbox.
I have done a lot of research on this already and have found nothing. I am aware of the fact that the conversation feature works off of the email subject line, and for the emails that do not get grouped in the conversation have nothing changed at all in regards
to the subject line. All these emails are grouping properly on my iPhone as well, so Apple's software seems to be working with no problems.
Does anyone have any clue what else could be affecting some of my emails and emails chains from grouping with the conversation setting? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Nalin,
Outlook 2010 doesn’t group the conversation based on subject, It uses the message header (Thread-Index:) to group the messages.
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/view-e-mail-message-headers-HA001230300.aspx (Find: conversation)
    Thanks, Dilip
    Hi Nalin,
Thanks so much for your reply.  :-)
    Hi Dilip,
Thanks for your reply too.  I saw some posts talking about this the other day.  So in light of the conversation thread here and what you've brought up...that Blackberry devices seem to alter the Message Header, then, which in turn causes the
Blackberry reply emails to be separated from the rest of the email conversation grouping in Outlook 2010, do you know of a way to configure Blackberry devices so that they maintain the same Message Header so that a Blackberry reply email remains with the original
    Outlook email conversation group?
    Thanks!
Well, I've done a little more research.  A
post from a guy named David Hogue led me to this tool named
MFCMAPI.  You don't have to install it.  You just run it.  So I used it to navigate to emails in my folders where 4 emails were properly grouped and 2 emails were excluded from this conversation group (but they should have been
    included).
Looking at the properties of the emails, I noticed there is a property called "Conversation ID".  This seems to be the property responsible for keeping the emails properly grouped together.  The problem, though, is that Outlook has the additional
complexity of showing the little orange lines and dots to display emails in the conversation at the proper level, what email the reply was in response to in the conversation thread, etc.  Because of these additional features, the "Conversation ID"
is not just a standalone property value that can be adjusted.  It's buried within binary information which includes all of this leveling information.  So I could not find an easy way to adjust the "Conversation ID" and also have
all of this other information Outlook uses for conversation grouping level purposes.
Here's an additional test I did just to see how Outlook handles grouping.  I took one of the emails that is currently excluded from the proper conversation thread.  I started an email reply from it, changed the recipient to myself, and changed
the subject line to make sure that it used "Re: " before sending the reply email to myself.  The email I received ended up being grouped properly with the rest of the conversation.  Therefore, my conclusion is that Blackberrys are doing something
even deeper than just changing the "RE: " to "Re: " which is causing this problem.  Whatever the Blackberrys are doing, they are causing Outlook to flag the email as a separate conversation and after Outlook has done this, the complexity of the email's
properties are such that trying to get this email back into the right conversation thread is not an easy task at all.

What is the difference between "viewable/ printable payment history" and my "payments received history"? Shouldn't my "payments received" (money verizon got from me) be my "payment history"?

I have not directly myself. One of the reps put me on hold while they said they spoke to finical services. He said they would not turn off my phone while he (the rep) looked into the problem. He couldn't give me a phone # to call him back the next day and told me he would call me instead on my home land line phone #. But what I got the next day was a text message that started with" DO NOT RESPOND" to this text message and it said that I was past due on my account, and that it was due immediately. signed out again with only his first name and no phone # again. Thing is he promised he could help in my first conversation with him, where I had started with "can I speak with a supervisor as I did not want to have to repeat the whole spiel again as he was going to be my third time". He said he was authorized to take care of all & any problems and I did not need a supervisor. I took him at his word and said OK. Turns out like I said earlier…I wasted 2 hours on the phone. Can't find him as I don't know what call center and no last name. I should have gotten that up info front. Hindsight is 20/20.

when I'm looking at my recent text messages on my phone, and I'm on the screen where I see a list of people I have texted.  I click on a name to open up the conversation, however it is blank and doesn't show the conversation even though we've been texting back and forth the day before.  So my question is how can I see the conversation?

    Try the following procedure:
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • SQL History - returning wrong statement if history is sorted

I have searched the forum and not seen anything on this, but I have been getting the wrong SQL statement returned when I select Append/Replace.
I have statements going back to 12-Jan-06 (using 804 since 13-Jan-06, 796 since 12-Jan-06 and 715 last year), so I don't know if I have hit the aging limit or not (I think I counted 221 entries).
It seems to me that it works out the cursor position and then returns that statement number from the history - independently of resorting the history.
For example, if I sort from oldest to newest (based on timestamp) and then select the bottom statement (displays as newest) and Replace, I get the oldest statement in the worksheet. If I select the top statement (displays as oldest) and Replace, I get the newest statement in the worksheet.
This is further complicated by the fact that sorting on the Timestamp is doing an alpha-numeric sort, rather than a date sort. When sorting from oldest to newest, the bottom three timestamps are (in "oldest to newest" order) are:
    1/23/06 10:58 AM
    1/23/06 9:21 AM
    1/23/06 9:31 AM
If I then remove the sorting, the statement returned is the correct one.

It was great to get the fix for the SQL History returning the right statement if sorted (we got it in v1184).
However v1215 still does a text sort on the TimeStamp column rather than a date sort, so 2PM comes before 9AM, etc.
Also, where is the format for the TimeStamp column coming from? As someone who doesn't live in the US and thinks that days should come before months in date formats (ie DD-Mon-YYYY), I am frustrated by yet another product that uses MM/DD/YY, despite my best efforts at telling it otherwise.

Lightning is a problem for you because it hooks into Thunderbird at a low level and you need a version compiled for the platform Thunderbird is running on. So you can't do the preferred solution, which is to put your whole profile in a shared folder and have both instances of Thunderbird reference the same profile. (Ditto for Enigmail). Lightning may become an integral part of Thunderbird in an upcoming release, at which point this limitation due to Lightning should disappear.
And if you can't use a shared profile, you can't set your Lightning, or your Address Book, to share a common set of files. Put another way, the linkage from Thunderbird to its address book files and calendar data is hard-coded, and not exposed where we can adjust it. :-(
The halfway house is to place your mail stores in a shared place, and use the Local Directory setting in each account's settings to connect to it. They don't need to be in the profile; what's more important in your case is that they are in a folder accessible to both operating systems.
Look in your profile; everything under Mail and ImapMail needs to be moved out to a shared folder. Note the entries in Thunderbird under Local Directory before you do this, and reconstruct those pathnames in Thunderbird, but adjusted to suit their new locations.
(You can see here that you need to make many adjustments, one per account, in each instance of Thunderbird, so it's a high-maintenance solution and this is why we don't recommend it when the alternative, moving the whole profile, is possible.)
I share address books and calendars between Thunderbirds on various computers (and my phone and tablet) by syncing to something in the cloud; Google Contacts and Google Calendar are my choices, using gContactSync and CalDav.
Having made the break myself some years ago, I'd recommend you break away from Windows. ;-)

  • How can I stop recent history being displayed in history menu without stopping remembering history altogether

I'm using the latest release (10.0) and am looking for a way to stop the history from being displayed in the History menu without turning off History, so I can still access History by going into the library.

I suppose it would help if I knew not only what you wanted but why, as there are a few possibilities that may help.
You may use private browsing,to stop some events being logged into the history in the first place, you may also clear items, single ones if need be.
    * see[[Clearing Location bar history]]
    * and [[private browsing]]
You can choose whether or not to display the history as suggested options from the location bar.
    * see [[location bar autocomplete#w_how-can-i-control-what-results-the-location-bar-shows-me]]_how-can-i-control-what-results-the-location-bar-shows-me
If you save History, then it can be displayed, I dare say there are methods of removing the button/option to display history from the UseIneterface but it would still be available from the Library.
Another option you may consider is settng up user accounts on the Operating System for different users, or even setting up separate firefox profiles for different users on the same OS account.

  • When I go to history it only get the history for today, how do I get all history to appear

I am trying to get all history instead of just the history of today. I want all the history to appear.

    Are you keeping the History?
    * Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the Browsing History.
    * Make sure that the History is set to at least 1 day: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember visited pages for at least"
    * Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode (Tools > Stop Private Browsing is grayed, see [[Private Browsing]])
    * To see History and Cookie settings in Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history"
You can look at these prefs on the about:config page.
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days (180) (also affects saved form data)

If I invoke the app via the ConversationWindowActions it opens up in the browser and the "Multiparty Session" session type sends an appINVITE SIP message sent to participants.
But I want it to come up as a Conversation Window Extension. Can do this if I invoke the ConversationWindowContextual. Great!
But the trouble is I want it to be a "Multiparty Session" and have an appINVITE SIP message sent to participants.
    And that doesn't happen.
    =====
So I have the two pieces working independently (ie "Multiparty Session" / "Lync Conversation Window Extension"). I need them working together.
    Thoughts?

Hey guys. Am really excited to integrate with and extend lync.
Have spent a huge amount of time researching.
    But really struggling with this.
Really need some help from Microsoft on this one.

That probably means that you are in [[Private Browsing]] mode.
In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and some features like visited links and others are disabled and not working.
You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing"
    See [[Private Browsing]] and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Issues_related_to_Private_Browsing
You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"

  • My Dell Vostro (running XP SP3) neither recognizes my iPad 2 nor my iPhone 4 correctly! I followed the troubleshooting guides and installed the latest iTunes. Both devices are recognised by my desktop PC running Vista using the exact same cable etc.

    Hello all,
my Laptop (Dell Vostro - running XP SP3) neither recognizes my iPad 2 nor my iPhone 4!
Both devices are working correctly with my desktop PC running Vista with the same USB cable!
I followed trouble shooting guides, checked that the drivers are present, installed, removed and reinstalled the latest iTunes (in the correct order together with the other Apple software components) etc. but nothing works! The interesting thing is that when I plug the iPad or the iPhone in the laptop's usb-port for a second Windows correctly shows the devices either as iPad or iPhone in the "Device Manager" with an exclamation point !!!    But then after a split second Windows allways switches the devices to Digital Camera and the correct iPad or iPhone disappears !!!     =>    That is why I guess that this is a driver problem!
Does anybody have any idea what else I can try?
Is there a manual way to install the drivers for the iPad 2 or iPhone 4?
Many thanks for your ideas and suggestions
    Edgar

Yes I know that (I always google first and ask later ). Too bad I find this out when it was too late. I was already on 4.3.
