No Cyan Printing

I am in the process of running all the troubleshooting steps from the previous post.  I am afraid that this may be something hardware related.  As you can see from the picture, Cyan is not printing at all.  I was hoping someone may be able to shed some light on this issue.  If there is a part i could purchase or if i will just need to get a new printer?

Hi @Centhion,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! I see you are not able to print in Cyan on your HP Officejet 8000, I see you were going to try some troubleshooting steps, how did that go? Are you now able to print in Cyan ink on your OJ 8000?
I would like you to look here and make sure all steps have been completed: Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues, if the end result is to replace one or both of the printheads I suggest calling our technical support at 800-474-6836 as this would be a hardware issue. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

  • I have a problem with the pen in my mag/cyan print head. I have tried cleaning it, and replacing it

I have an HP ML7850 all-in-one model.  The display reads "There is a problem with the mag/cyan print head."  The HP solution center said I needed to replace the print head.  I did, but the problem still exists.  I went through the online self-diagnostic testing, and the results are that there is a problem with the pen.  I tried to gently clean the pens, but it did not help.  Any suggestions?

On D5460, it now prints with a cyan tint over whole picture.

  • Two different printers won't print cyan

An eMac running 10.4.4 will not print cyan ink under any circumstances. This is true with both a new Canon and an older HP inkjet printer, each with its own cable and each plugged into a different USB port.
An OS archive and install (involving a return to 10.4.0 and reupdate to 10.4.4 with printer tests at both stages) makes no difference.
Working from a new user account makes no difference.
Printing from different applications makes no difference.
Cartridge changes were of course tried, but made no difference, as you'd expect given that two different printers exhibit exactly the same problem.
All inks other than cyan print perfectly in all cases.
What on earth is going on?

When you go to the Print dialog box, open the third list (normally reads as 'Copies & Pages' by default). Choose 'Color Management', select "Off" to see if that makes a difference when you print.
Also, if the printers have internal (rather than system-based software utilities) self-tests you might want to try them, although I admit it would be a weird coincidence for both printers to sour in the same way at the same time... but stranger things have been known to happen.

  • InDesign causing others to print blanks pages

Okay so this is a weird issue and I'm getting no results.
My issue is simple. After I print in ID anyone else I work with prints blank pages (We're printing through a network to a device). Also cyan prints incorrectly; however that is fixed if I open the print driver from the print dialog. Now the color thing is a problem through all the adobe software (Illy, Photoshop, Acrobat). No matter which program I use cyan prints wrong. But back to the main issue, strictly ID causes others to print blank. It isn't consistent either. A single document could consecutively cause the blanks then not cause them a little later. We've tried ever print driver possible and the problem persists. Another curious behavior with ID in conjunction with Acrobat is if Acrobat is open and I try to export to .pdf from ID then both programs freeze (however no message of either not responding comes up in the activity monitor) and the preferences are erased from ID
I've spent 4 hrs on the phone with Adobe support and it's just some indian reading from a handbook asking over and over if I deleted my preferences. I've spent days with the printer manufacturer and worked with 7 of their tech specialists and even had them send out a new unit and  still the issues. I need to know if the rest of the world is seeing this. Or if this is even close to something someone has seen
So from what I'm seeing is a problem with the PostScript writing that's freaking it out but I'm not software engineer so I can't say for sure.
I'm running CC (though we still had the problems on CS6)
    OSX 1.7
    ID version 9.2.2
printer  is a Konica Bizhub 554e (it's a laser copier)
    Thanks,

I actually have created a .pdf and had others print it (a file I create in ID and export to pdf). What ends up happening is if I try to print the pdf people after me get blanks. However if someone else prints it there is no issue. I may have left out an important point I'm the only mac that uses the printer, everyone else  uses pc (and I don't know if that's an issue). I only have a postscript driver available (which is good) but i don't know what everyone else is using. I want to say in all of this i heard they have a PCL driver.
As far as the router, I'm hardwired into the network so there is no router. Konica and our IT have checked the network and ruled out that possibility (and I don't really know what that means)
But you are reaffirming the fact it is the printer and they need to fix it. And the fact that a document printed with only cyan is printed with all four colors to give me some weird off color makes me think the disconnect is between Adobe and the printer. But still so weird about the blanks.
    Thanks for the input

  • Print quality on Colorjet 3700, repeat vertical multicolor stripe when cold

When cold the unit producies a repeating multicolor 8 mm wide stripe 13 mm from left hand edge, when printing from tray 2(cassette) and 12 mm from right edge when printing from tray 1 (manual feed tray).the paper size is letter 8 1/2 x 11. The fundamental repeat period is approx 50 mm with smaller components at 7mm and 3mm. • Epson 3800 Printer & Photoshop CS4

I've had the snow leopard disc since it came out some 6 months ago, but haven't installed it due to so many issue that I've read about.
    1) Is anyone using snow leopard successfully with the Epson 3800 Printer? Epson has yet to release (if they ever will remains a mystery for owners of this printer) a full-fledged update for the driver.
    2) Is anyone using Photoshop CS4 with snow leopard without issues?
    Thanks.

Well Adobe did it again offering a discount to convert to CS5 just before they released a new version of PSE that is PSE9 for mac
Tested it and the colours come out perfectly just like CS5 and they acutally left in the option on the print screen to select "NO COLOUR MANAGEMENT". In CS5 they pulled it out and as PSE9 appears to be made up of CS5 they must have back tracked on this option after the yelling and screaming from the community.

  • Deskjet 5550, Windows Vista, and borderless printing

I tried searching for this issue regarding my printer, but did not find it.  I apologize in advance if it has already been solved.
I own/use a Deskjet 5550 to print my digital photos.  Unfortunately, I am unable to get borderless prints.
I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit, Service Pack 2
I am printing onto HP's Premium Photo Paper, glossy, 4 x 6.5 inches (has the tab on one side)
Under Control Panel I click on printers, highlight the 5550, right-click properties, and under the About tab it displays: "hp deskjet 5550 series (HPA) (61.53.25.9)"  Then it lists about 27 files in the Driver Files window.
    Method 1:
    1) From My Computer I go to the folder where the picture is located.
    2) I double-click the picture and click Print, Print...
    3) In the following window I choose Printer: hp deskjet 5550 series (HPA), Paper size: Photo 4x6in. (tab), and Paper Type: HP Premium Photo Paper, Glossy
    4) I next click on Options, then Printer Properties to verify these settings, as well as to adjust the Print quality, if necessary.
    Method 2:
I've also tried using HP Photosmart Essentials 3.5, but that hasn't worked either.  In fact, when I choose a picture to print and click on the Printer Settings tab, I find an option for Borderless printing, and the user can click on either Yes or No.  Yes is greyed out for me, meaning I cannot click on it, and it is instead stuck on No.
Using either method, I still end up with a white border around three sides of the picture.
I was able to do borderless printing when I was running Windows XP, so I am kind of stumped as to why it isn't doing it anymore.  Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

There are a few things to check:
Print a self test page as shown here.  You should have patterns of black, cyan (blue), magenta and yellow.  If cyan does not print fine in this page then move to step 2, otherwise skip to step 3.
If cyan does not print in the above test then gently blot the nozzles of the color cartridge on a damp tissue.  There should be a stripe of cyan, magenta and yellow.  If cyan is missing here then the cartrdige is defective.  If the cartridge is new and a genuine HP (not a refill) check the warranty expiration as shown here.  If the cartrdige is in warranty then contact HP for a replacement.  If the cartrdige is beyond its two year warranty then replace it with a fresh cartrdige.  When buying new cartridges look for the "isntall by" date on the package.  I would look for a package with at least six months of remaining time before the :install by" date, which would have a year of remaining warranty.
If cyan printed OK in the test page but not when printing from the computer then it is probably a driver issue.  In this case I would disconnect the printer, delete the 5550 from the printers folder and then download and install the driver from HP's site here.

  • Installed New Printheads Now Printer Just Keeps Automatically Aligning printheads & using ink

After installing new cyan print cartridge, printer automatically required printhead alignment, cleaning, etc. It then said that the Cyan/Magenta Printhead would need replacement soon. Print quality page said everything else was good, but when I went to print document, everything was BAD.
I replaced the cyan/magenta printhead w/brand new HP. Automatically it attempted to align printhead. It has been automatically aligning printheads constantly for 2 weeks now, it has sucked down TWO cyan ink cartridges, one yellow and one magenta, yet I have printed NOTHING but alignment pages, which I cannot get the printer to stop doing.
I NEED MY PRINTER. PLEASE HELP!!!!! Cannot afford another, cannot afford to go out of house to print, and already (with mutliple ink cartridges) have hundreds of dollars into this mailing that was supposed to go out three weeks ago.

    Hello there @skirdie ,
I read your posts about the printhead issue you have been having. I just wanted to reach out and let you know what my suggestion is and what I think is happening.
I believe the printheads are failing or at least on their way. My best suggestion to you, is to follow the steps in the guide below. I have looked through the steps and I would personally recommend them. If anything is going to cure the printheads from consistently running an alignment or perhaps seeing the  "checking printer" message, it would be those steps. Clean the contacts very well and power reset the printer and give the printer a direct connection to the wall, avoiding power bars and surge protectors.
'The Following Printhead Appears to be Missing or Damaged' or 'The Following Printhead has a Problem...
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. They may have a trade in offer available.

  • Small Office Looses Business L7780

Have been a hp owner since 1989 have bout about 10,000 dollars in printers over the years.
They need to make some changes. Problem one is my office is down because there all in one printer L7780 has an error print head color I do not even use.
I can't fax, I can't san to computer, I can't print in black witch is all I need.
In the  90's if a color went out you could still print black and use the unit.
So I bought a new printer head per error This new printer head cost over 90 dollars with shipping because office max and staples don't carry "It has not fixed the problem".. I check several other problem that may be Rollers, jams, Cleaning ect.....
HP has to change there software to allow operation of other devices. Going to buy else were until they do problem still not fixed. Magenta/cyan print head problem
P/S were do I collect on my warranty's for print heads they have a good till warranty dates?
One pissed off customer office is down.

I was looking originally at the 3750 series (1000 and 100 and using the stacking ports) but the cost may be a little high.
You will no longer be able to purchase FastEthernet 3750 as Cisco has announced the End-of-Sale of the 10/100BaseTx of the 3560 and 3750 since January 2011.  Cisco has also announced the End-of-Sale of the 3560G/E and 3750G/E back in March 2012.
So this leaves you with the 3560X and the 3750X and I can assure you this variety doesn't come cheap at all.
This leaves you with the last remaining stack-capable model, the 2960S.  Like what Paul has said, the 2960S is a "triple speed" variety:  10/100/1000BaseTx.  You can have uplinks of 1 Gbps fibre or 10 Gbps fibre.  You can have "half" PoE or Full PoE.
But what sets the 2960S different from the 3750X (in terms of stacking) is the amount of switches in a stack.  The 3750X can support up to nine but the 2960S can support up to four.  This factor was set deliberately to prevent potential users to choose the cheaper 2960S instead of the 3750X.

Other than never EVER powering it down with the power strip, are there any other do NOTs with this printer? (That excludes things like taking it into the shower, dropping food or drink into it, seeing how high it will bounce, trying to print on bathroom tissue, etc. )

  • Color partial failure

3 year old printer.  Stopped printing blue ink.  Both text & background.  Windows 7 and windows 8.1.  Replaced cartridge twice.  Ink level not reporting.

    Hello @Primary55,
I would like to assist you today with resolving the cyan print quality issue that you're experiencing with your HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer. I understand that you have already replaced the tri colour cartridge twice to no avail. At this point I'm going to run you through some additional troubleshooting. It does however, sound like you may be experiencing a hardware issue with your print system. If the print system is failing you a replacement printer may be needed. Now with that being said, can I please have you run the steps below to ideally resolve this print quality issue for you.
Step 1: Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report:
To start, I'm going to have you print a standalone report from your printer to verify if your issue is being caused from your Windows computer and a potential driver issue.
    1. Load plain, white paper into the input tray.
    2. Press the Setup button () on the printer control panel.
    3. Press the Right Arrow button () to select Print Report, and then press OK.
    4. Press the Right Arrow button () to select Print Quality, and then press OK. The diagnostic report will now print.
If this page prints fine: Your issue is actually being caused by your computer. Please do not proceed with troubleshooting at this time.
If the report shows print quality issues: Than you are experiencing a print system hardware issue on your printer. Can I please have you click here to access the print quality troubleshooting steps. Please run through Solution one, Solution two, Solution seven, and Solution eight.
Please let me know the result of your Print Quality Diagnostic Report. Should you still be experiencing issues there may be additional troubleshooting steps we can attempt. I look forward to hearing from you. Have a Happy New Year!

  • Laserjet pro 200 color MFP won't print cyan

My HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw printer has stopped printing cyan.  It does it for files sent to the printer as well as just trying to make a copy.  The cyan cartridge has been replaced and status shows full.   I've run all the onboard diagnositics, cleaning page, etc. with no luck.  How do I determine the problem and fix it?

Hi , Thanks for getting back to me! It's not abnormal to see some print quality issues once your toner is lower that 20%. Were you able to complete the steps in the document that I sent? Is there any cyan on the print quality printout at all? If not, it could be a defective toner cartridge. I would suggest contacting HP Support to inquire about a replacement if it is a Genuine HP toner cartridge.**Fill in the model number and the form to receive a case number for quicker assistance. If a replacement toner cartridge does not resolve the issue, then it's possible that the printer may need to be serviced. Hope this helps! Thanks again for posting, and have a great day.
