NO DATA FOUND IN WORKFLOW PORTLET
Hi,
Presently, I am working oracle portal integration project, in that , I integrate workflow portlet with portal. So, I have taken workflow portlet (version_beta_9.0.4.1) from portalstudio site, but it is giving "No Data Found" messeage. I have some doubts regarding workflow portlet.
(i) How to add new notification?.
(ii) Shall I configure any file?
(iii) Where can I get meterial for workflow portlet?
My working environment is:
(i) oracle 10g (9.0.4) on windows 2000 professional
Please give step by step process to integrate workflow portlet with portal.
Thank you,
Regards,
Sridhar Thrasu
hello
your post is two years old now, so i am poping it pretty late, but did you get answers to your questions. i believe, we need to configure the oracle workflow engine itself

Workflow portlet displays no data found
I've managed to succesfully install the workflow portlet.
I've added it to a portal page but when the portlet displays on the page all I get is no data found under the headings.
When I go to the default workflow page for the same user I can see data in the worklist option. I'm using single sign on to access the default workflow page.
Can anyone help, thanks in advance.I don't know what version you use but in my case, I use workflow as a component of Oracle Content Services (v 10.1.2)
You need to configure the notification mailer, setup an email account on your mail server for inbound message, turn on imap, etc... check out the documentation I used here: http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25553_01/content.1012/b25275/workflow.htm#i1009931
To enable SSO for workflow:
dads.conf looks like this:
<Location /pls/wf>
SetHandler pls_handler
Order deny,allow
Allow from all
AllowOverride None
PlsqlDatabaseConnectString (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=nv-oasrv5.netversant.com)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=netocs.netversant.com)))
PlsqlNLSLanguage AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8
PlsqlAuthenticationMode Basic
PlsqlDefaultPage wfa_html.home
# Added by Nicolas
PlsqlDatabasePassword <owf_mgr password>
PlsqlDatabaseUsername owf_mgr
# End of entries
</Location>
And mod_osso looks like this:
<Location /pls/wf>
require valid-user
AuthType Basic
</Location> -
No data found for region error on Workflow notification page
Hi !
For workflow, I have created a Non Form Function in Oracle Applications and linked the region to display in the notification. This region's type is StackLayout.
I created an attribute of type Document and assigned it the value in the form
JSP:/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?OAFunc=WF_FUNC
then I added this attribute in the notification message attribute with the Source as Send and Frame Traget as Full Window. Now when the workflow starts, the region does not populate and error shows that there is no data found for this region.
Am I doing something wrong? Any ideas?
Thanks.Hi,
We have a unique problem.....for timecard approval notification the HXC_TIMECARD form function is calling embedded Timecard region in the workflow notification.....in the HTML call the AprvNtfRN is called as shown below.
OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/hxc/selfservice/approval/webui/AprvNtfRN&akRegionApplicationId=809
Now the issue is that the email displays uneven format i..e timecard details like project and task name are vertical instead of horizontal.
Is there a way to code HTML in AprvNtfRN so that the format is obtained as desired? -
Worksheet imported to Portlet gives No Data Found
I’m having a problem on being able to import a Discoverer worksheet within a portlet. I build the worksheet in Discoverer and am able to successfully generate results. However after importing into Portal and attempting to run a query I get no data found from the query. I’m also using a simple parameter form that has 5 values. One of the values is a parameter used in a condition that must match with a column in the database that is made up of a character and a number, i.e. A1, A2, etc. Whenever I attempt to generate the report without the use of this particular parameter, the report appears even though it is not the true result that I want. I realize that this description is rather generic but if anyone has run into the same issue it would be helpful to know what the problem was. I.e. having a worksheet give correct results in Discoverer Plus but not getting the expected results when imported to a portlet perhaps with using a simple parameter form.
I’m using Discoverer Plus 10.1.2.1 and Portal Builder (i.e. Application Server 10.1.2).
Thanks,
KenHi SYR,
Pick Slip report gives you out put as NO DATA FOUND, is basically, bcos there has not been any picking of the item, reason may be,
1. Qty avaialble wont be reservable and transactable
Check in Inventory> On handqty > click availibility tab
And see whether the item is available to transact & reserve.
If you have enought qty thn you shld be able to pick release tht item.
2. Check which sub inventory are you using while pick release, is it the same as where the item is kept.
Try this out.
This may help.
Thanks

Workflow Portlet in other languages
Has anyone managed to get the default Workflow Portlet working for languages such as Chinese.
The current symptoms are:
(1) When using default portlet and the Chinese character in the subject is unrecognizable.
(2) When clicking the subject to show the detail of the workflow notification, it seems that the CHR(10) contained in the message has been removedNew since CR 9 is unicode support: http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com/KanisaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=http--supportbusinessobjectscom-communityCS-TechnicalPapersNoNav-cr9whatsnewpdfasp&sliceId=&dialogID=24286720&stateId=1 0 24288668
"Unicode support means that the program code level in Crystal Reports is able to recognize language
characters that are based on Unicode.
Unicode is used to display double-byte characters such as the Chinese and Japanese character sets.
This enables you to create Crystal Reports that can display right-to-left languages and multiple
languages in a single report."
So if your data is in unicode Crystal will be able to properly display the various languages.
If you wanted one single report to be viewed in different languages, then static strings in the report would need to be converted into formula fields which changes the text into the appropriate language based on a language parameter. Some strings could not be handled in this manner though such as custom prompting strings. -
Error : ORA-01403 no data found (Portal Page)
hi you all,
I have this confusing bug "or something" on my portal. I have created 5 tabs on my page. And everything wwas working fine until I added discoverer portlets that view's graph. Once this portlet was in and the user views the page, users can no longer click on other tabs to view it. It prompts on the page and Error stating
Error : ORA-01403 no data found
Please help if anyone have any idea on this
thanks

I've downloaded the workflow portlet and want to use it in ias v2, but the instalation guide and the JPDK packages this portlet uses are all from v1. It's possible to put this portlet to work in v2 and OC4J, if so how?
Thanks,
Antonio CruzHi,
Yes, I downloaded it from the Integration Solutions Page.
I know that this is a sample released for test, evaluation, and education purposes but, Do you know when the next release will be available?
I have it integrated to my portal and it works great. I think, its a perfect solution because its easer to the user to respond the notifications from the portal than from the workflow pages.
The only limitation I found was with this kind of useful attributes. I think that I can develop a JSP portlet (using the workflow engine API) that allows the user to add a comment before responding the notification, but may be I should wait the next release.
What do you think?
Thanks for your help.

Hello, I have found an important bug in the Workflow portlet.
I need to know how the owner is, in order to communicate the problem and the possible solution.
ThanksHi Jose,
What exactly is the bug that you have hit upon? Can you give me a description of it?
thanks,

Assuming your initialization matches your discoverer login, it is pretty weird that you get no data.
I am not sure how you got the SQL but i suggest you trace the session to get the exact SQL ran by the discoverer.
You may find another condition or join that limits your data.
Also another thing that you should try is to initial the session by using all the parameters (including the security group as you have in your discoverer login):
begin
fnd_global.APPS_INITIALIZE(user_id =>, resp_id =>, resp_appl_id =>, security_group_id =>);

I think there is a part of the stored procedure you did not displayed in your post. I think your issue is probably due to a parsed value from java. For example when calling a procedure from java and the data type from java is different than expected by the procedure the ORA-01403 could be encountered. Can you please show the exact construction of the call of the procedure from within java and also how the procedure possible is provided with an input parameter.

Can not view/export a report which has 2 group by field when no data found
Recently I developed a report, which contains 2 group by fields. it runs successfully when the report displays some data.
but when there is no data, i cann't view/export this report.
It shows nothing by html format and shows "this file cannot be opened because it has no pages" message by pdf format.
even there is no records for this report, i still want to see the template file and show some basic information.
please help me.
DanielI've found that, just like I used to do in Oracle Reports, if you put in a COUNT column to count your returning rows, you can put 'No Data Found' when there's no data. That way, your report will return and not error out.
For .pdfs, this is the code I use; COUNT with code of <?if:count(field_name)=0?>.
In the .rtf..
COUNT
No Data Found
END COUNT
Put this in the .rtf before your data should appear or else it won't work.
Hope this helps!

Does anybody know what I am missing. Are you sure the code you posted is what you're actually running? The semicolon at the end of the query:
... WHERE test_date_and_time BETWEEN start_date AND end_date;)is a mistake, but it wouldn't cause ORA-01403.
Also,
FOR rec IN (query)
LOOP
END LOOP;doesn't raise NO_DATA_FOUND. If the query doesn't return any records, then the loop is simply not executed even once.
If you'd like help, then post your actual code, or a simplified version that gets the same error, along with whatever CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements are needed to run it. -
