No data to refresh in BPC for Ecxel

Hello,
I created an input schedule and tested it by sending the data from BPC for Excel interface. It works fine.
However, if I try to distribute the schedule as an offline document, collect the same after the user modifications and try to process it, I see the error "No data to refresh".
Here is what I did to troubleshoot this:
1) I tried using different dimensions to see if it's working, I get the same result.
2) I tried the input schedules with and without password
3) I reviewed the distribution list over and over again. Could not see anything wrong.
I am not sure what I am missing. Any ideas would be of great help!

All:
An update. I manually copied the input schedule into one of the local folders without using the Distribute feature in the "Offline Distribution Wizard". Then I used "Offline Distribution Wizard" to collect the file and process it. It worked just fine. That leaves probably one area of problem: Distribution list.

I hope to get some advices and information about saving data in BPC client computers with non-English regional settings (e.g., decimal point is set ","). Our BPC server has English regional settings.
BPC 7.0, SQL Server 2008. I created new Input Schedule by using standard EVDRE function. And data was not sent to SQL Server after clicking Send and Refresh, I got the message "No data to refresh". I examined hidden sheet EVDRE_DATACACHE and found cells in row A with cache data in XML format. After some experiments I found out that if all data values will be replaced with symbol "S" then all data in the sheet with EVDRE could be saved correctly. I don't know any other methods to make data with decimal point "," to be saved. Also I tried to change members of Measure (Periodic - YTD) but i got the same result.

Actually you have the problem into server.
I think you have the regional settings wrong into server.
We have actually many customers using French, German, Dutch language having "," for decimal separator and it is working fine.
It is not working when actually the settings into the server are not English US.
Please check the follow keys from application server:
HKEY_USERS - .Default - Control Panel - International
HKEY_USERS - S-1-18.. - Control Panel - International
HKEY_USERS - S-1-19 ..- Control Panel - International
HKEY_USERS - S-1-20 ..- Control Panel - International
HKEY_USERS - S-1-21..- Control Panel - International
HKEY_USERS - S-1-21........ ..- Control Panel - International
These keys should be sett all for english US. If it is at least one not correct that can cause problems with sending data.

You need to change the macro assigned to the standard button. There are few macros available. You can try them and see which one suits you the best.
MNU_eSUBMIT_REFSCHEDULE_BOOK_CLEARANDREFRESH: Sends workbook and clears data and refreshes workbook.
MNU_eSUBMIT_REFSCHEDULE_BOOK_NOACTION: Sends data without clearing or refreshing the worksheet.
MNU_eSUBMIT_REFSCHEDULE_BOOK_NOACTION_SHOWRESULT: Sends data without clearing or refreshing the worksheet, and shows the result in a window upon successful send.
MNU_eSUBMIT_REFSCHEDULE_BOOK_NODIALOG_SHOWRESULT: Sends active book without any dialog and show result box.
MNU_eSUBMIT_REFSCHEDULE_BOOK_REFRESH: Sends workbook and refreshes data.
MNU_eSUBMIT_REFSCHEDULE_SHEET_CLEARANDREFRESH: Sends data and clears and refreshes the worksheet.
MNU_eSUBMIT_REFSCHEDULE_SHEET_NOACTION: Sends data without clearing or refreshing.

Retrieve data from a report or database to an input schedule in BPC for exc

Hi,
I am using BPC for excel ( v 5.1).
I've created an Input Schedule(Input-1) using BPC for excel and sent data to the dB.
I need this (Input-1) data to use it in a new Input Schedule(Input-2), for further manipulation.
I need this data to be dumped in a sheet for further calculations in (Input-2).
How can i bring this data?
I created an input schedule(Input-2) and tried building an evdre in an excel macro to get it as a report of the 1st Input. But i was unsuccessful. I faced an error "ERR: Invaled KeyRange Header".
Am i thinking in the correct way? Do we 've any other options to retrieve this data?
Need your help to proceed....
(Pretty soon, the environment is going to be with version 7.0)

EData and Manage Data in BPC for Excel Hanging

Hi -
Running BPC NW 7.0...was working fine and this morning, anytime go into eData or Manage Data options, BPC for Excel hangs, until we have to go into Task Manager and kill the process. Is there anything (on the server or client side) that could cause this? Other e-menus appear to be working okay. Any ideas to resolve?

We are also facing the same issue in QA system. However we are on BPC7.5 SP05 Patch 1.
The system hangs when we go to eDATA. We then have to kill the session from Task Manager.

When we get the actual data in BPC for planning, is the data consolidated

I had a question regarding Planning. When we get the actual data in BPC for planning, is the data consolidated? Do we need to run the consolidation business rules( IC Booking, Matching, IC Eliminations) on the data before we can use it for planning? Per my understanding we have to run Currency Conversion on this...correct?
Also, where do I get my actual data from? Does ECC/ Source system have data from all entities( CHQ, Region and Countries)?

In a hierarchical structure, the data is always loaded in to the base level, and the data is automatically rolled up to its parents.
The currency conversion will also take place at the base level, and as mentioned earlier, the converted data will also be rolled up as per the hierarchy.
The heading of this thread says planning. So, ideally, there wont be any legal (or statutory) consolidation. You might use the US elimination however, for eliminating the intercompany transactions, if any.
The planning can be done as zero based (wherein the user has to enter the planned data manually from scratch) or non-zero based (wherein the planned data of previous year is copied and the user can change the data as required).
The flow of events cannot be suggested by us. It has to be discussed with the business to understand how do they do the planning.

EvDRE: Refresh Active Sheet (for VBA)

Is there a routine I can use that's the equivalent to:
Right-click, EVDRE: Exand & Refresh...Active Sheet
I'm aware of the VBA routines like MNU_eTOOLS_EXPANDANDREFRESH and MNU_eTOOLS_EXPAND, and MNU_eTOOLS_REFRESH---but did not find any documentation on this calling this.

Those may be internal calls to the addin that are accidently exposed. You should not call anything that isn't documented. All the MNU commands are documented in the eTools help file I referenced earlier. Choose, [eTools] > [BPC for Office help] then search on [MNU] and choose [BPC menu commands].
You can either assign the macro to a form button or call them in a VBA routine as Joost mentioned. If the goal is to just call the macro, the button works fine. The only reason to call them from VBA is if you need to string together multiple operations in a single process. Then you'd write your own macro and assign it to a button.
The function that is equal to Expand and refresh on a report template would be MNU_ETOOLS_EXPANDANDREFRESH. This does both an expand of dynamic members and a data refresh. If you just need to update the data, MNU_ETOOLS_REFRESH is all that's needed.

Error loading data from BW to BPC with standard package

Hi experts,
A big part of our solution is pulling actuals from BW into BPC. To do so we use the standard SAP package "Load InfoProvider Selections" which calls the process chain /CPMB/LOAD_INFOPROV_UI.
We have migrated our environment to BPC 10 and tried to run this process and are now getting the following error:
“ Task name CONVERT:
No 1 Round:
An exception with the type CX_ST_MATCH_ELEMENT occurred, but
was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause
System expected element 'Selections' ”
We have tested and this is happening with all data loading packages. It appears as though it is expecting a "selection" parameter, but selections have definitely been made. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have any idea how to resolve it?

Error when connecting to BPC for Office

Hi experts,
We are using BPC 7.5 MS SP06. We are in the following configuration :
Windows 7 - 64bits
.Net 4.5.2
Office 2010 - 32bits
When we launch the SAP BPC for Office (Excel) we receive the following error message :
The system cannot connect to the
(HTTP://servername) Application server. Verify that you have specified a valid
Application server name, or see if the Application server is unavailable at
this time.
Automation error
The system cannot find the file specified. (Assembly: OSoftComLibClient.dll, Object:OSoft.Consumers.Common.WebServiceCall50.WebServiceCall)
We try to register the dll by running a command
%systemroot%\SysWoW64\regsvr32 <complete path to the OSoftComLibClient.dll>
without any success.
We also tried to copy the dll from another PC but it has failed the same way.
Please, be aware that we succeed in connecting with the same user from another machine with the following configuration:
Windows 7 - 32bits
Net 4.5.2
Office 2010 - 32bits

Issue while loading master data from BI to BPC

Dear All,
I am loading master data from BI to BPC using the process chain /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER. I ran the package and package status was success. But few member ID's which are available in BI are not getting loaded in BPC. Nearly I have 1300 ID's in BI. Out of 1300,only 1270 ID's are loaded in BPC.
I haven't restrict any ID's using conversion file as well.
What could be the reason? How can I overcome this and load all member's ID in BPC?

Whats the write mode you have chosen for the CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER chain ?
Check if you have the Update mode ..

Xi Data Cache Refresh Problem

Hello,
We have following Problem:
We send an XML-Request with HTTP-Adapter to XI and get Data from R/3, works fine.
But when we send a Second Request we become an Error.
The error comes because in the Java Runtime the XI writes wrong values into Message.
When we do a XI Data Cache Refresh for INTEGRATION_SERVER
and INTEGRATION_RUNTIME we can send a message and all works fine again.´
Any Idea why the XI Caches Data from Request and set this values in the message of request that was send later?

How to lookup application set status in BPC for Excel

Hello,
we have created some packages diabling the appset status when running.
These packages update dimension data and/or fact data.
Other users will receive an error when sending data to the application when the
packages are running.
Ist there a change to lookup the appset status in BPC for excel?
May be continuously with a macro or just before sending data?
I didn't find a bpc function for this task.

Hi Jochen,
I don't believe there is any way to do this with built-in BPC functionality.
Assuming you're on BPC for Microsoft, in the appset's DB, you can query as follows:
select [value]
from tblDefaults
where [type] = 'system' and keyid = 'availableflag'
-- value of 1 = available
-- value of 0 = not available
I know this works for system availability when it's controlled on / off, manually from the admin consol. I believe it also works when the system is taken offline by a data manager package, but you'd need to check if you plan to implement this.

BPC for excel Add-in Conflict

Hi,
I'm trying to find out if there any known excel add-ins that conflict with BPC for Excel (v7) and how the conflicts manifest themselves.
I am currently specifically interested in conflicts with SAP BW BEx Analyser but would be interested in any others also.
Would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this.

Usually, Crashing means excel will show crashing error message and restart it.
Excel will just return excel error message. NOT BPC or 3rd Party ADD_IN error message because it happened at the EXCEL while it is processing request from BPC addin and other 3rd partty Addin. (Of course BEX is SAP product. that's why BPC NW support BEX report in 7.5 but still it is not fully integrated with MS.)
Sometimes it happens when retriving data from BPC or sending data. As you know those are critical functionality of BPC.
Again, it depends on the addin but based on my experience, Hyperion Addin and BEX addin had a problem when it runs together with BPC addin. some simple addin might not have any issue but still recommendation is not using 3rd party addin because we don't know where the error comes.

Here are some options
1) Use standars packages and schedule them :
A) Openhub masterdata file into a flat file/ BPC App server and Schedule the package - Import Master Data from a Data File and other relevent packages.
2 ) Using Custom Tasks in Custom Packages ( SSIS)
Procedure
From the Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Developer Studio, open the Microsoft SSIS folder.
Create a new package, or select an existing package to modify.
Choose Task Register Custom Task .
In the Task Location field, browse for the target .dll file.
Note
By default, the .dll files are stored in BPC/Websrvr/bin.
End of the note.
Enter a task description, select an appropriate icon, then click OK.
Drag the icon to the designer window. Enter data as required.
Save the package.

Problem in submitting data while refresh in web application

Hi all,
I have problem in submitting data while refreshing the page.
In my application voucher number is generated automatically and as soon as number is genereated voucher detail is inserted in database for newly generated voucher number.
Both of these activity done on the same page as my client want so.
Now I have problem that while refreshing the page, the same data for incremented voucher number stored in database that should not be done.
If there is any solution for this situation other than 1) Generating number in one page and inserting on another 2) block refresh activity, then please reply me.
It's urgent. Your help will help me a lot.
