No data whatsoever in Macon, GA

For the second time this month, I have completely lost all data connectivity on my Droid Razr in Macon, GA.  I do not get 4G LTE down here, but right now I have nothing at all.  The last time I lost all data connectivity I just waited it out and let it resolve itself, but twice in the same month in an area that doesn't even have LTE is simply unacceptable.  This is not an LTE outage, it is a total data outage.  I have restarted, pulled the SIM card, switched from LTE/CDMA to CDMA only, etc.  Nothing has worked.  Anyone can look on these forums and find that many other owners of 4G phones have had the same issue, so I am sure that it's not just my phone.  Get on this Verizon, or you are losing this customer.

Hello Winsor6,
I can understand not having any data connection being a bit frustrating.  I don't see any network opportunities at this time in Macon, GA.  Macon does not currently have LTE coverage, but you definitley should be receiving 3G data.  You attempted great troubleshooting steps and I would like to suggest another step to attempt.  Please try holding the volume down key and pressing the power key until the device resets. (Will not erase any data)  Once the device resets please observe your signal and advise if this was successful for you.  Thank you.

  • Despite one more screw-up in my shipping date...iPhone 6+ 128GB Space Gray is actually arriving 9/19 by 3pm

    I've had a lot of issues getting a reliable status out of Verizon.  See the previous posts here and here.  Needless to say, I'm fed up.  Finally, after being told that my phone would definitely arrive on 9/19, my card was actually charged on 9/17.  That seemed promising.  The order status updated to the typical "Processing, check back tomorrow" message.  The order actually appeared when I logged into my Verizon account for the first time.  So I waited all day and when I woke up on 9/18...the status did actually change.  The status changed to "Ship by 10/7".  I about lost it.
    I got Verizon on the phone, the first time via the Internet Orders phone number.  The guy basically told me that they didn't have a tracking number and that their system had a lot of issues and due to the overwhelming demand they had to delay some of the orders.  I tried to get more info and see if there was any chance I would get my order 9/19, and was told "No, that's just the way it is".  So I tried calling 611, talked to another CSR.  They told me pretty much the same thing and that I would be stuck waiting.  I was livid.  But at that point, I was done.  Done calling, done posting, I just resigned myself to the fact I would be waiting weeks to get my order and that I would be switching my carrier at some point due to the total lack of knowledgeable customer service.
    I checked the status again on a whim, around 6pm EST.  It actually changed again...this time the "Ship by 10/7" date went away, and it changed to "Shipped", with a UPS tracking number.  The tracking number was actually a link that pointed to FedEx (seriously, they can't get anything right).  I looked up the number on UPS's site and found out it was shipping from Memphis, TN via UPS Next Day Air Saver, and it listed my correct delivery city (I was hesitant to believe it, because I've been given a FedEx number before by a CSR that was bogus and shipping to another state).  The package says it will be delivered 9/19 by 3pm, and has moved from Memphis, TN to Louisville, KY.
    I'm hopeful I'll actually get my phone tomorrow, and not a gift-wrapped pile of...something...in a Verizon box.  I wouldn't put it past Verizon to find a way to screw this up still, but this is the most promising things have looked thus far.  To all those checking the order status every day for the next couple weeks...the best advice I have is just don't believe it.  At all.  I've had dates showing 9/19, 10/14, 10/7.  I had CSR's guarantee delivery on a date, and others telling me I'd be waiting weeks and there was nothing they could do.  I've had a response via Twitter saying I would definitely receive my order on 9/19 and a DM on this forum telling me the Twitter user was wrong.  I had the date change after the card was charged.  I've had a fake order number sent to me from an actual Verizon number via a text just to get me off the phone.  I've been given a FedEx tracking number for someone else's order to get me off the phone.  I've had the absolute worst customer service experience I've ever had in my life.  Before this, I thought Verizon was the best carrier out there, and this destroyed all confidence that anyone working there in customer service has a clue about what's going on behind the scenes.
    So yes...Verizon..."I understand how exciting this can be."  Just not in a way that reflects positively on you.

    I've got more conflicting responses to add to the list:
    Via Twitter from @vzwsupport:"Great news Matt. Your pre-order is ordered correctly & is scheduled to ship 9/19 via FedEx. No other info is until it ships. ^VC"
    Via direct message on these forums from @saraho_vzw:"Thank you very much for getting back to me. I know it's exciting to be waiting for this phone and I'm sure you want to know exactly when to expect it. I must apologize because the email date that you received in that confirmation is incorrect and this was due to some system issues we were having at the time these orders were placed. I am seeing the correct delivery date for your order is 10/7, and I'm so sorry for the confusion and delay. -Sarah"
    Upon replying to @saraho_vzw and asking why the response from @vzwsupport conflicted with her response:"If I received both of those dates I'd be confused too! 10/7 is the correct date. I'm fortunate enough to work right alongside ^VC and she was not aware of the issues going on with our system at the time the order was placed. I've made her aware of this so others are not misinformed.  -Sarah"
    So if the last message is correct, I'm not going to have my phone until 10/7, and Verizon's entire checkout process and confirmation emails completely misrepresented the actual date I will receive my phone.  I've asked them to re-mediate the issue but I'm not confident they will meet their original agreed upon delivery dates whatsoever.  This is absolutely horrible customer service.  Advertising a deliver by date of 9/19 prevented me from going elsewhere to get my order fulfilled.  And no...it's not 'exciting to be waiting for this phone'.  It's frustrating.  We had an agreement when I placed the order and Verizon is failing to meet the agreed upon terms without any explanation other than 'issues' in their system, and claiming they have no control to escalate the order and correct the ship date.  I'm done.

  • Date data not showing in infocube

    dear experts,
    i am new to bw however i have been assigned by my organisation to try and produce some results,so i am in need of your help
    what i ve done this far is create rfc connections between bw and sap and install some of the ready infocubes in bw (we are in healthcare so using is-h infocubes)
    my problem is that even though i get data in my infocubes and i am able to create some basic reports ie i can view what services we ve sold, hospital room occupancy statistics etc, i am facing a problem with dates
    more specifically in the 'time' dimension of my infocubes i have nothing, no dates whatsoever anywhere, no calendar year no month nothing
    i ve checked,through rsa3 my infosources that bring the data from sap and dates exist there normally
    any suggestions what i could check next as you can imagine without dates my reports are useless
    thanks

    Hi,
    I think the problem lies in the mapping of the date field in the transformation.
    Lets say you have a field 'Created on Date' in the data source. Map this field to the time characteristics 0CALDAY, OCALYEAR which will be present in the cube. Do this mapping in the transformation. After that load the data again and check.
    Hope this helps.

  • Data usage when streaming from iTunes library to Apple TV?

    I'm trying to manage my GB data usage through my ISP and was curious if, while streaming between my iTunes library and Apple TV television shows I have previously downloaded, is that using any data whatsoever? I know I used data to actually download the show initially, but once its just sitting in my library, and I call it up from my Apple TV later and start playing it, is there data usage going on?  Thanks!

    Home sharing and AirPlay don't use any data, they are done over the local network. It will then depend on the source. If any content in your iTunes library has a cloud icon then it will be streamed, if it resides on your hard drive then there is no internet connection required apart from iTunes purchases (pinging server for verification)

  • .numbers .xls without loss of data?

  • Is it possible to get Data Roaming in South Korea?

    I have a Verizon Iphone 5. I travel to Asia quite frequently. My stops always include Japan and Korea. When I am in Japan, I am able to use my phone via 3G to surf the web, email, etc. It's not the fastest connection but sufficient. However, the moment I step foot in Korea, my data goes dead. I will be in the heart of Seoul, the largest city in Korea, and I will have no access to data outside of a wifi connection. When I use Korean smartphones, the network is extremely quick, faster than my phone on it's home 4g connection. According to Verizon coverage maps and Verizon tech support, my phone should work. However, I can't get any data, not even a slow one. I've tried messing with all the settings, power cycle, etc. still nothing. Is my phone even capable of data roaming in Korea? If so, how come my data works fine in Japan and then 2 hours later doesn't work at all in Korea?

    In the past I've spoken with the Verizon global support and made all the necessary recommendations. However, as I said in my previous post, I am am to surf and access data in Japan with ease. It works fine in Kyoto and Tokyo, even in the subways and in certain spots along the Shinkansen. However, as soon as I touch down in Korea flying from Japan, my phone becomes a paper weight. Voice and text functions work, however due to the high toll rates, I avoid using them. You say I should have access to 1x and even 3g data, however, in downtown Seoul, which would probably be the Korean equivalent of downtown Manhattan, Needless to say every carrier has above average coverage in a major city like NY. I have no access to data at all. I would walk blocks thinking I'm not hitting the right tower or what not and nothing. No data whatsoever, not even 1x. From my own research, South Korea has one of the best cellular networks in the world. However, without access to emails and google functions like maps, it becomes increasingly difficult to travel with Verizon. I'm constantly looking for a Starbucks or some other venue offering wi-fi so I don't get lost while traveling the city. If Verizon is supposed to have roaming data in Korea or specifically Seoul, which carrier are they linked to?

  • Opera 9: Dates not showing in email [SOLVED]

    I notice that, when reading mail in Opera 9 under Arch, the Sent column displays no dates whatsoever. This occurs whether I use the Arch supplied binary, or use the downloaded binary obtained from the Opera web site. This only occurs under Arch. That is, dates show up fine under other distros.
    Anyone able to dupe this?

    So far, the other distros on which I tested Opera are Fedora Core 5 and Meps 6. Neither of them cause this problem in Opera, so I can only assume it's an interaction between Arch and Opera, not Opera itself. On my Arch box, I tested Opera under KDE and Xfce-svn, and in both environments, the problem arises.

  • Lost Calendar data after update and hotsync

    Okay, I hope someone can help with this. I updated my Treo 650 at the Palm site tonight. And I'm gonna try to recall the exact order in which I did everything so that this is clear. (Also know that I Hotsync every night, without fail.) You should know that I work on a PC using Windows XP. After I downloaded the update and opened it, it instructed me to Hotsync. I did. The stuff in the update took a while, but it finally worked. There were a couple problems with this Hotsync though. First I got an error message that all of my original applications could not be re-uploaded because some of them were not Palm compatible. (Or some such.) Fine. I'd just go to wherever the file was and see if I could live without whatever was not uploaded. (I still haven't found the file, and I don't know HOW to find it.) Then I got a Hotsync error message that stuff had to be deleted so that the Hotsync of the updated software could be successful. No problem. I deleted some photos and Voila, it worked. New software installed. I first went to my Apps page on the Palm to see if the important Apps were still there. And they seemed to be. Then I noticed the calendar, which was showing TODAY'S date, and that looked fine too. Now this is where I get confused. SOMETHING moved me to Hotsync AGAIN. Not sure why I felt I had to, but I did. When THAT Hotsync was finished, my calendar was wiped clean. Now this is where I may have shot myself in the foot. (I read another post that seemed similar to mine and the person was told that it was fortunate that she did NOT Hotsync AFTER data disappeared. Then he went on to show the person how to reclaim her data, and his explanation went WAY "over my head".) So I Hotsynced again to see if any magic would get my calendar, and the 7-8 years of dates and info from my M103 days, back onto my Treo. It did not. My Treo has no calendar dates whatsoever. What's strange is that the address book is totally intact. Can someone talk me through a way, if there is one, to get my calendar dates and data back? And a way to back up all of this precious information should I ever get it back. And if you offer me directions, give them to me as if you were directing a really SLOW child.

    Try doing a global search of your system.
    Right click Local disk (C) then select search and type in datebook.bak under "All or part of the file name" entry and hit on search. If their are some items found just look for the biggest file size of the datebook.bak and copy it then paste it to the desktop then do the import process again but it's gonna be on the desktop location that you are importing the file from.
    1st Open Palm Desktop Software then open your emptied calendar.
    2nd Click File then Import.
    3rd Locate the datebook.bak that you pasted on the desktop - once you're on the desktop you just type in the asterisk symbol * then press enter on your keyboard to show those hidden files then you shoudl be seeing a datebook.bak and some other icons and files on your desktop. I recon to just double click on the datebook.bak folder then that should import all your calendar data if it contains anything and if not then i gues this will be the last resort.
    You don't need to worry about the message that says something like "Not all imported datebook will be viewed on the current view because the default view is unfiled and if you do have some categorized data on the calendar.
    This will be the last resort.

  • Proxy MP Submitting Client Data

    My question is to know the flow of Proxy MP in SCCM 2012. I have a doubt proxy mp will contact Primary MP or not. Please correct me here am i right or wrong on the below points for flow of proxy Mp while collecting data from Client
    1)  The Proxy MP in sccm 2012 collects the inventory data, discovery data and status message
    2) The Proxy Mp will hand over to SQL DB in secondary server.
    3) The Secondary site SQL DB will replicate this data via Database replication.
    Another Thing can i use the terminology "Proxy MP" for MP in SCCM 2012 " .
    2Q) How does policy collects by Proxy MP in SCCM 2012.

    First, no the MP is no longer a "proxy" MP in 2012 as it does not proxy requests for policy.
    1) Correct
    2) Incorrect. The DB on a Secondary site is not for any client data whatsoever. It simply stores policy and a subset of other data needed for client operation in the DB. Inventory and other messages submitted by clients to an MP on the secondary site server
    is forwarded to the primary (I honestly don't know if this is done directly to the primary site DB or via a primary site MP although I think the former).
    3) Incorrect. See #2. The DB at a secondary site is effectively a read-only copy as far as the clients are concerned.
    2Q) Not sure what you're asking here.

  • ContactStore.FindContactsAsync() returns Contact objects with no data

    Hello!
    I have a problem accessing contacts in my Windows Phone 8.1 application (Universal Store app to be precise).
    The app executes the following on a mobile device running windows 8.1:
    public async Task Load()
    ContactStore store = await ContactManager.RequestStoreAsync();
    IReadOnlyList<Contact> allContacts = await store.FindContactsAsync();
    foreach (Contact user in allContacts) {
    Debug.WriteLine(user.Id); // this is Ok, the rest is empty
    Debug.WriteLine(user.FirstName);
    Debug.WriteLine(user.MiddleName);
    Debug.WriteLine(user.LastName);
    Debug.WriteLine(user.DisplayName);
    Debug.WriteLine(user.Name);
    I get 24 Contact objects in a list, which seems right (I can view 24 contacts in People app), but there is absolutely no data in Contact objects fields except for the Id field. All strings are empty and debugger shows no data whatsoever.
    I also tried loading contacts by their ids, up to no avail. Still no data.
    Contact u = await ContactsSource.GetContactAsync(user.Id);
    What am I doing wrong here?

    Looks like it is a problem with Skype contacts (I only had these at first).
    After some experimenting I found out that contacts added directly in People app are Ok and Facebook contacts are also Ok, I get data as expected. Not sure what happens with contacts from sim.
    Is that a known issue?
    -- UPDATE
    This is what I gathered by now:
    Contacts with DataSuppliers[0] == "Outlook" have correct data (ids, names, phones, emails)
    Contacts with DataSuppliers[0] == "Skype" have only Ids and no other data
    Contacts with DataSuppliers[0] == "Facebook" have ids and names, but
    no phones or emails
    Contacts with DataSuppliers[0] == "Twitter" or "LinkedIn" are
    not received by calling FindContactsAsync()
    And when I try to achieve what I want using ContactPicker:
    I do receive phones or emails for "Facebook", "Outlook" and "LinkedIn", but I can not get both at the same time (invoking ContactsPicker with two items in DesiredFieldsWithContactFieldType
    throws exception).
    I don't have Skype contacts in the list at all (although they are visible in People app), but I do have LinkedIn and Facebook contacts.
    I don't receive DataSuppliers for any of the contacts.

  • IPhone 5 data usage.

    Is it possible to get the iPhone 5 to a state where cellular data is turned on but the phone does not consume any data whatsoever.
    After using up my 1GB data allowance within 15 days of having the iPhone 5 (upgraded from a 3GS on a different UK network with half the data allowance and rarely used it up)... it got me thinking about what on my phone actually uses data and how come i've used a ridiculous amount more since i've had my new iPhone 5.
    With cellular data turned on, all notifications turned off, location services off, everything you can imagine that would consume data turned off ... when you play games, it still consumes data.  I have disabled and turned off game centre.... but it still consumes data.
    For example, playing "Logosquiz" for about 2 minutes receives about 150kb.  Why?  Surely with gamecentre disabled, games shouldn't consume any data whatsoever?

    Put your phone in "Airplane mode" then turn on "3G" & Wifi" then see what data is being used.

  • Capture time is not saved into JPG file! (LR 2.0)

    Hi,
    I have this JPG file with no EXIF data whatsoever but I know it's capture time so I went to Metadata » Edit Capture Time and changed the capture time. Now, on Lightroom in the Library module, I can see the capture time there and then I save the metadata with Metadata » Save Metadata to File. However, when I check the file on Windows Explorer, the capture time (or date taken as named by Windows) is not specified at all.
    Why isn't the "Save Metadata do File" working correctly?

    @William Porter
    I don't have that box checked but it shouldn't matter because I'm not talking about exporting new files to update the metadata. I'm talking about updating the files metadata within the files that are already added to the library.
    @Richard Earney
    That option was already checked from the beginning but it's not helping. That's exactly why I don't understand why this is not working.
    Maybe a bug on LR 2.0 Final?

  • Hot synced Zire 71 with Windows Vista

    I have a Zire 71 and I just bought a Toshiba laptop with Vista 32bit.  I was able to hot-sync the Zire successfully and the files loaded onto the laptop.  But when I looked at the Palm desktop, there was nothing whatsoever.  No data whatsoever.  Nothing.  Obviously the problem is with Vista.
    What can I do to get my files to appear on the Palm Desktop? Is it possibly related to the file extensions having a problem with Vista, or is there an add-on to fix this?
    HELP!!!!!!!!
    Many thanks in advance!

  • After numerous attempts to install Snow Leopard....

    ...._(by numerous I mean more than 6 attempts made)_ I have finally thrown in the towel and will be using Leopard (10.5.8)....forever, I suppose.
    My last attempt(s) (this morning) was to use Pacifist to re-install iCal in Snow Leopard and then using the original install disc to try the "Install Optional Installs". Zero, zip, nada on everything tried.
    I need iCal but Snow Leopard will not allow it. It launches, bounces up and down in the dock a couple of times and then quits.

    Your machine with no non-Apple devices should be able to install iCal and Snow Leopard no trouble.
    The logfile is often difficult to determine what went wrong. But my belief in such matters is simplify first, and then add on later. Backup your data at least twice, and see if there is an issue just erase installing Snow Leopard from a retail installer disc. If there is, then you know there is a hardware problem if no non-Apple devices are connected. Running the hardware test that came with your Mac:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303081 would allow you to determine this without any installation of data whatsoever, as long as the issue isn't due to some random RAM issue that it can't detect.

  • Acrobat 9 Typewriter increasing file size

    I have scanned forms that I need to edit with the Typewriter tool in Acrobat 9 Pro - basically I just need to add a date to the form and then e-mail it.  Evidently I have accidentally clicked some box that I did not want to click, because now when I edit the one-page form (about 70k before editing) and type in any data whatsoever using the Typewriter tool, then save the form, the file balloons to anywhere from 0.6 to 0.9 MB.  Which is crazy, and too large for me to submit.
    Right now what I'm having to do is edit the form, save it, print it, and re-scan it.  This is making me nuts.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
    I have tried Reduce File Size, the Optimizer, and downsampling, but nothing has worked.  I can't make the file small enough to make a difference.
    Thanks,
    Beth

    Base - 14 fonts
    Standard Type 1 Fonts (Standard 14 Fonts)
    Fourteen typefaces—known as the standard 14 fonts—have a special significance in PDF documents:
    Times (v3) (in regular, italic, bold, and bold italic)
    Courier (in regular, oblique, bold and bold oblique)
    Helvetica (v3) (in regular, oblique, bold and bold oblique)
    Symbol
    Zapf Dingbats
    These fonts are sometimes called the base fourteen fonts.[34] These fonts, or suitable substitute fonts with the same metrics, must always be available in all PDF readers and so need not be embedded in a PDF.[35] PDF viewers must know about the metrics of these fonts. Other fonts may be substituted if they are not embedded in a PDF.
    Helvetica was developed in 1957 by Linotype. Arial was Monotype's attempt to make a font that looked like Helvetica (but without paying licensing fees) and was designed in 1982.
    Microsoft didn't want to pay Linotype licensing fees to use Helvetica so it went instead with the cheaper Arial.
    Arial is held in disregard by many professional typographers and type enthusiasts, for reasons relating to its similarity to other typefaces and the involvement of Microsoft in its development and distribution.[7] It is reinforced by Arial's apparent status as a de facto Helvetica stand-in, but without paying royalties, or credit, to Helvetica. Arial's glyph widths are nearly identical to those of Helvetica,[7][26] rather than Monotype Grotesque, on which Arial is otherwise based.[7] "But to an experienced designer," writes typographer Mark Simonson, using Arial "was like asking for Jimmy Stewart and getting Rich Little."
