No Database Panel option
I'm incredibly new to dreamweaver, but following some tutorials my lecturer gave me. However, in this project, I have to link the db I made in XAMP to the site via the Database Panel. Now, there's no panel showing by default, going to the Windows tab does not have Database listed under it, and Ctrl-Shift-F10 just gives the same options as right-clicking. I do have a .php page open, so it should (as far as I'm aware) be available, but it's just...not.
Any idea why it's not there and how I can make it be? Or at least how I can create a new MySQL connection without it?
Managed to get a response elsewhere already (yay!), and because I despise Google results pages being filled with unanswered questions whenever I go to look for an answer, I'm reposting it. No credit claimed, but hopefully it helps someone's future Googlings.
1. Install Extension Manager CC if not already installed.
2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CC\configuration\DisabledFeatures (Windows PC)
3. Double-click Deprecated_ServerBehaviorsPanel_Support.zxp (it'll open the Extension Manager)
4. Once that finishes installing and shows it in the extensions list with Enabled ticked, open up Dreamweaver, et voila! Database Panel is back under the Window tab.

My Databases Panel will not display my Databases?
The issue "This server behavior requires a Cold Fusion Data
Source" happens to me periodically when DW crashes after a week or
two of non-stop use and all of my Databases "disappear" under the
Database Panel? DW thinks that I have no Databases setup under
Administrator? This is driving me crazy.
I can open another Site and it's database's appear in the DW
panel fine, but the Site I was under when DW crashed will not
display in the Database Panel even though all of the webpages that
access those databases work fine so I know it's not a CF server
issue?
I have tried the Site/Advanced/Remove Connection Scripts but
that does not work.
Sometimes if I rebuild the Site under Manage Sites, they will
show back up? Other times I have reinstalled but that is not an
option this time.
This issue seems to be related to a DW & CF connection
only? Any ideas or solutions?
ps: Ben Forta, I remember your comment in the CFWACK chapter
about DW's refusal to display the Databases unless a proper page is
open in DW. While all of my pages are definitely .CFM with Datasets
& querys, this looks like it's related to DW.
Thanks,
jligOnce again, I opened up DW, created & saved a new .CFM
page, clicked on Insert/Data Objects/Recordset and DW pops up a box
saying:
Before inserting this object, please do the following:
1. Create a site for this file. (checked)
2) Choose a document type. (checked)
3) Ste up the site's testing server. (checked)
4) Specify the RDS login info on CF server. (checked)
5) Create a CF data source.
6) Create a Recordset.
Obviously, I have already set up a CF data source, and can
verify them in the CF Admin page.
What causes DW to "lose access" to my Data sources?
I would appreciate any suggestions and help.
Thanks,

Dreamweaver CS3 - Database Panel Problem
I set up a site in Dreamweaver CS3 trial - my ColdFusion data
driven pages display OK in browser preview but I when I try to
display my datasources in the Database panel I get error "server
name or address cannot be resolved" even though the server name is
correct and working. The site's testing server is set up properly
(they run in the browser) and coldfusion is running properly.
I removed the connection scripts but that was no help. I'm
using the miserable SQLServer 2005Express (I tried checking
security permissions in WinXP - my file system is NTFS so there
*should* be a "Security" tab present in properties for me the
change permissions but it's not there...
i've run out of ideas - does anyone have any suggestions that
I can try?

I can't help you with the central issue, but permissions in
XP are
controlled by a setting in folder options.
start, control panel, folder options, view. Near the bottom
of the list
is an option that by default is checked - "Use simple file
checking".
Try unchecking it, and you should be able to access the full
security
tab for files.

"In-Memory Database Cache" option for Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition
Hi,
In one of our applications, we are using TimesTen 5.1.24 and Oracle 9i
databases (platform - Solaris 9i).
TimesTen holds application information which needs to be accessed quickly
and Oracle 9i is a master application database.
Now we are looking at an option of migrating from Oracle 9i to Oracle 10g
database. While exploring about Oracle 10g features, came to know about
"In-Memory Database Cache" option for Oracle Enterprise Edition. This made
me to think about using Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition with "In-Memory
Database Cache" option for our application.
Following are the advantages that I could visualize by adopting the
above-mentioned approach:
1. Data reconciliation between Oracle and TimesTen is not required (i.e.
data can be maintained only in Oracle tables and for caching "In-Memory
Database Cache" can be used)
2. Data maintenance is easy and gives one view access to data
I have following queries regarding the above-mentioned solution:
1. What is the difference between "TimesTen In-Memory Database" and
"In-Memory Database Cache" in terms of features and licensing model?
2. Is "In-Memory Database Cache" option integrated with Oracle 10g
installable or a separate installable (i.e. TimesTen installable with only
cache feature)?
3. Is "In-Memory Database Cache" option same as that of "TimesTen Cache
Connect to Oracle" option in TimesTen In-Memory Database?
4. After integrating "In-Memory Database Cache" option with Oracle 10g, data
access will happen only through Oracle sqlplus or OCI calls. Am I right here
in making this statement?
5. Is it possible to cache the result set of a join query in "In-Memory
Database Cache"?
In "Options and Packs" chapter in Oracle documentation
(http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/license.102/b14199/options.htm
#CIHJJBGA), I encountered the following statement:
"For the purposes of licensing Oracle In-Memory Database Cache, only the
processors on which the TimesTen In-Memory Database component of the
In-Memory Database Cache software is installed and/or running are counted
for the purpose of determining the number of licenses required."
We have servers with the following configuration. Is there a way to get the
count of processors on which the Cache software could be installed and/or
running? Please assist.
Production box with 12 core 2 duo processors (24 cores)
Pre-production box with 8 core 2 duo processors (16 cores)
Development and test box with 2 single chip processors
Development and test box with 4 single chip processors
Development and test box with 6 single chip processors
Thanks & Regards,
VijayHi Vijay,
regarding your questions:
1. What is the difference between "TimesTen In-Memory Database" and
"In-Memory Database Cache" in terms of features and licensing model?
==> Product has just been renamed and integrated better with the Oracle database - Times-Ten == In-Memory-Cache-Database
2. Is "In-Memory Database Cache" option integrated with Oracle 10g
installable or a separate installable (i.e. TimesTen installable with only
cache feature)?
==> Seperate Installation
3. Is "In-Memory Database Cache" option same as that of "TimesTen Cache
Connect to Oracle" option in TimesTen In-Memory Database?
==> Please have a look here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/timesten/quickstart/cc_qs_index.html
This explains the differences.
4. After integrating "In-Memory Database Cache" option with Oracle 10g, data
access will happen only through Oracle sqlplus or OCI calls. Am I right here
in making this statement?
==> Please see above mentioned papers
5. Is it possible to cache the result set of a join query in "In-Memory
Database Cache"?
==> Again ... ;-)
Kind regards

How to hide Database Logon option when scheduling Crystal Report in BOE?
Hi All,
For security reason, we are try to hide the Database Logon option in Crystal Report Schedule page in InfoView.
There is option in CMC which we can configure the default Database logon option so that users do not have to enter the logon everytime they view or schedule the report. However, we are looking to hide this option completely.
Does anyone know if there is a security setting which can hide the option from specific users?
Thanks,
BobbyHi Bobby,
As Jorge informed that there is no method available within CMC to hide database logon option when scheduling or viewing a Crystal Report in the Info view. This is very much true.
But as you also mentioned that you don't want your users to enter the database logon credentials evertime they view or schedule a crystal report, there is one setting in CMC which we can do to avoid prompt for database logon credentials.
CMC - Home - Go to that specific crystal report - Click Process tab - Click the sub-tab 'Database' and at the bottom of the page there is an option "Use same database logon as when report is run". Check this option after providing the database credentials and click UPDATE.
Now whenever users try to view or schedule this specifc crystal report they won't be prompted for the database logon credentials.

I have setup a datasource in coldfusion 7, which works fine.
When I try to use the Databases Panel and Bindings panel in
Dreamweaver 8, Dreamweaver displays the full filepath to the
database file instead of the names of the tables.
Example:
My database file is located in - C:\Program Files\Apache
Group\Apache2\htdocs\myDB.mdb
It is named myDB
The database file contains one table - User
Now in the Databases Panel, I can see the datasource, but
when I expand the Tables list, I see
C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\myDB.User
instead of simply
User
I can click open the table and see the fields within
correctly, but I can't create a recordset correctly unless I
manually replace FROM C:\Program Files\Apache
Group\Apache2\htdocs\myDB.User to FROM User.
I can't figure out what the problem is... does it has
anything to do with the fact that the Coldfusion Server is not
located in the same machine? I do have RDS enabled though.
Thanks for any input!!!!In article <f4pukl$dha$[email protected]>

Vista is not a supported platform for ColdFusion 7.

This looks like Vista permissions problems. By default, user
accounts
don't seem to have permission to write to c:\inetpub\wwwroot
on Vista.
I haven't (yet) figured out how to change that (I'm very new
to Vista
myself) so I simply run programs as administrator to write to
that
directory. Instead of just clicking on DW to start it,
right-click and
Run As Administrator... Then it should be able to write to
wwwroot.
Worked for my for Notepad :)
I'm *not* recommending this from a security point of view.
Much better
to figure out how to change the permissions on the wwwroot
directory
so you don't need administrator access!
> I've very frustrated. Any ideas what has/hasn't
happened?
Well, you bought Vista... Like I say, I'm new to Vista as
well and
whilst I dislike it less than I disliked XP, I find it more
frustrating in terms of security. That's why I normally use a
Mac :)

"database logon" option for schedule report
When scheduling a report,
Crystal report has the "database logon" option in "shcedule" property page.
But I can't find the "database logon" option for webi report or deski report.
Is this by design.Hi Tina,
We do not have data base logon option while scheduling the report.
I am not sure what is the significance of it in Crystal but in Webi or deski report we do not need it. We have connections for every universe/report and that has these database log on credential in it. Based on it reports get refresh and run.

Using In-Memory Database Cache option need help
Hi,
I need some help:
I am using Oracle 10g Server Release 2
For Clientele activilty I am using Oracle Client where the Application resides.
For Better performance I want to use the In-Memory Database Cache option Times-Ten Database.
Is it possible to do so where there is Oracle Database Server Relaease 2 and in the Client there is Times-Ten In-Memory Database Cache?
Any help will be needful for meIn-Memory Cache is a server-side cache. I can not see where there would be any value putting it on the client side though given the license cost per CPU core I am sure the entire Oracle sales force would gladly disagree with me.

Ho do you 'un-gray' the Databases menu option in the Windows menu?
I seem to be entering a 'world of hurt' with PHP on my iMac running Mac OS X 10.6.6 with Dreamweaver CS4
Under the Windows menu the Database menu option is grayed out. How do I un-grey it?
In the Site Definition dialog box I have Server Model set to PHP MySQL and PHP appears to be running perfectly well, but Dreamweaver CS4 seems to want to stand in my way and gray out the Database menu option and I have no idea why.
I wish that software developers would implement the idea that if a menu option is grayed yo can still click on it and it will take you to a help page telling you why it is unavailable and how to make it available.
So, I guess I have one of two questions that need to be answerd (and I do not know which one to ask):
1. How do I un-gray the Database menu option.
2. Why is the Database menu option grayed-out?
I am dead in the water until I can work this one out.I exited Dreamweaver CS4, started it again and magically the menu option was now un-grayed (nothing else, to my knowledge changed).
Now I am getting a different problem - "MySQL Error #2002 - No such file or directory".
I am opening the Database menu option, bringing up the "MySQL Connection dialog box" then I enter:
Connection name: bookstore
user name: root
Password: root
Database:
when I click on the Select...button to choose a database I get "MySQL Error #2002 - No such file or directory".
Which is it? No such file, or no such directory? If it would show me the directory it thought it was looking for then I might have a chance in Hell of working this one out!
How do iwork out which folder it is attempting to look in? -

Database comparison option on SQL Developer
Is there a database comparison option available on SQL Developer? If yes, can you please help me with the usage? If not, is it expected in the subsequent releases?
Regards,
KrishnanI'm hoping that we will eventually have 2. We are integrating the Oracle Migration Workbench and its ancillary tools into raptor and will have the ability to compare a readonly 3rd party db with the newly generated Oracle DB. The other thing we need as part of this is a schema comparator which will tell us the object differences in 2 schemas. Right now, this is very much on the wish list as we get into the next release.
