No databases available on CRMM_SEARCH

Hi,
We have Knowledge Search running correctly in the IC Web Client (CRM 5.0).  When you go to the Knowledge Search screen in IC Web, the Database drop-down list contains 3 items (as desired):  Interaction Records, Business Leads, and Service Tickets.  Searches using these knowledge bases work fine.
We'd like to make this functionality available in the SAP GUI since not all of our users use the IC Web.  However, when I go to transaction CRMM_SEARCH, all the fields and buttons are grayed-out, and the Database dropdown list is empty.  I get an error message "Knowledge base not compiled; inform your knowledge administrator" when I run this transaction, but I suspect this is because the Database field is empty.
Does anyone know how to configure CRMM_SEARCH to work the same as the IC Web Knowledge Search screen?  I went through the Configure Application wizard, and all Knowledge Bases are already assigned to the ICWINCLIENT & ICWEBCLIENT applications (the "ALL" application has only the 3 we want assigned - ACTIVITY, LEAD, SERVICE_ORDER).
Thanks.
Martin

hello,
5 years is too long... well to enable the buttons you have to link the org unit, in ppoma_crm (pick attribute webclient), and then create this same profile in IMG. It´s 2 steps.
cheers,

  • SQL 2012 Database Availability Group - Force Automatic Failover

    Hi All,
I'd appreciate some help in understanding the following scenario in my test environment.
I have created a DAG with 2 replica servers (both of which are HyperV VM's running W2012 Std).
From a client PC in my test lab, I can connect to the virtual listener of my DAG and confirm via the "select @@servername" command that I am connecting to the primary replica server.
Using the Failover Wizard, I can easily move to primary instance between my 2 nodes and the command above confirms that the primary replica server has changed. So far so good.
What I wanted to test, was what would happen to my DAG in the event of a complete loss of power to the server that was acting as the primary replica server. At first, I thought I would stop the SQL Server service on the primary server, but this did not result
in my DAG failing over to the secondary replica. I have found out that the only way I can do this is by effectively shutting down the primary server in a controlled manner.
Is there any reason why either stopping the SQL Server service on the primary replica, or indeed forcing a power off of the primary replica does not result in the DAG failing over to the secondary replica?
    Thanks,
    Bob

    Hi,
I would verify if Database Availability Group means AlwaysOn Availability Group.
How did you set the FailureConditionLevel?
Whether the diagnostic data and health information returned by sp_server_diagnostics warrants an automatic failover depends on the failure-condition level of the availability group. The failure-condition level specifies what failure conditions
trigger an automatic failover. There are five failure-condition levels, which range from the least restrictive (level one) to the most restrictive (level five). For details about failure-conditions level, see:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh710061.aspx#FClevel

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
    It's an AlwaysOn Availability Group.
In my test lab, I have changed the quorum configuration to a file share witness and that has allowed an automatic failover when I turn the primary replica server off (rather than power it off).
I'll take a look at the links you provided.

  • Checking database availability with shell script

can anyone help with a script that checks for database availability before 10 P.M and 7 A.M at 5 minites interval and starts a SQL Load of a table once the db is available.
I have no Shell script experience at all but I can amend an already written script.
    Please Help !!

    Dear Timothy,
Within the Oracle software you have installed on your machine, there is a script called "dbstart" within the <ORACLE_HOME>/bin directory. This script provided by Oracle can be easily modified to check whether the server is up and should help solve your problem.

  • Is there any corporate database available for Multisim12?

I'm trying Multisim12. Master database has a lot of components but I wonder there many simple and common ICs are missing while I have noticed that many of these components are readily available in Proteus etc.  I'm especially talking about CMOS 4000 Chips which are the building blocks of a medium level designs. Example includes CD40110, CD4063 etc. and a lot more. I don't meant to prove Multisim useless but just have to ask that:
    1. Is there any corporate database available that can be downloaded? or,
    2. Can I import Proteus components in to the Multisim?
Please help me.   Thanks and regards.

    Hello,
No we do not have a corporate database. The one you get has all the components available in Multisim (depends on the edition of course). CD40110 is a a simple decade counter right? You should find that under peripherals and indicators. The CD4063 is a comparator. You can find a 4 bit magnitude comparator in the CMOS section. These are the modls for simulation, if you want to create your own package and symbol you can (so you could potentially add CD40110 package to your schematic for routing purposes if you transfer your design to a layout tool). You could also create a component called CD4063 using the SPICE model from the CMOS comparator sections. I don't know what models Proteus uses, but if they are SPICE or PSPICE it should work.

  • Database Availability Group Missing on 2 Exchange Servers

I have a an existing Exchange 2007 setup and installed 2 Exchange 2013 servers that have the Mailbox and CAS role.  When I go to the ECP menu and click on databases there is no option available to create the DAG.

I Don't think that the Exchange 2013 installation is successful. If it successful then it might have been a problem with RBAC Roles which were not delegated properly to the account you are using to logon to ECP.
Try below and check if you are able to create DAG.
    1. Create a New User and make it a member of Organization Management, Enterprise admins, Domain Admins, Schema Admins,
Built-in Administrators, Group policy Creator Owners and run the command below on the powershell: Set-User NewUser -RemotePowershellEnabled:$True
    2. Logoff and Login Back using the Newly create account and check if you are able to see the option to Create DAG.
IF you are not able to then Open Windows Powershell as administrator and run the commands below
    Add-Pssnapin *Setup
    Install-CannedRBACRoleAssignments -InvocationMode Install
    Install-CannedRBACRoles
    Install-CannedRBACRoleAssignmentsRAP
    Install-CannedAddressLists
Lastly, i would also ask you to get the output of the command below:
Get-ManagementRoleAssignment -Role "Database Availability Groups" -RoleAssignee OriginalUserWhoDontHaveCreateDagOptiononECP

  • Data/database availability between ETL process

    Hi
I am not sure whether this is right forum to ask this question. But still I am requesting for help.
We have a DSS database of size 1Tb. The batch process runs between 12:00 hours till 6:00 am. the presentation/reporting schema is of size 400 GB. Through the nightly batch job, most of the tables in the presentation layer get truncated/modified. Due to business nature and requirement, this presentation layer needs to be available 24*7. As the ETL process modify/changes database, hence the system is not available between 12:00 till 6 am.
The business requirement is that: Before ETL process starts, take a backup of the presentation layer, transfer the application to this backed-up area and then let the ETL process proceed. Once the ETL process finished, move the application to this latest area.
Based on the size of the database and schema size, does any one , how to take backup/restore the presentation layer in the same database in a efficient way.

There are a couple of possibilities here. You certainly need two sets of tables, one for loading and the other for presentation. You could use synonyms to control which one is the active reporting set and which is the ETL set, and switch them over at a particular time. Another approach would be to use partition exchange to exchange data and index segments between the the two table sets.
I would go for the former method myself.

    Hi,
DatabaseAvailabilityCheck verifies that databases have sufficient availability. If this check fails, it means that some databases are at risk of losing service.
I recommend you run the Test-ReplicationHealth | fl cmdlet again and check the error message, there should be some clues explaining why it this check fails.

  • Monitoring database availability with oem

    Hello
Regarding oracle enterprise manager 10g, Say, I want to be notified when the databese is down. (database is 10.2.0.5)
    In the rules->Availability
    I tick down.
When I shutdown the database, I dont get an email straight away, however when I startup the database, I get an email stating that "failed to connect to database instance".
Why didnt I get a notification when the database is down ?

Yes you are correct. It need a configuration. Please follow the steps as below and check
    Configure OS sendmail Service
Note: The following example is applicable to Red Hat Linux (Section A, steps 1-4).
Please contact your System Administrator to configure sendmail for your operating system as this may vary between different platforms.
The following steps are to be performed by the super administrator user (eg. root):
    1. Backup /etc/mail/sendmail.mc
    cp -rp /etc/mail/sendmail.mc /etc/mail/sendmail.mc.orig
    2. Edit sendmail.mc and replace:
    dnl define(`SMART_HOST',`smtp.your.provider')
    with
    define(`SMART_HOST',`<MAIL SERVER>')
where <MAIL SERVER>: hostname of the SMTP server
    3. Rebuild sendmail configuration file:
    cd /etc/mail/
    m4 sendmail.mc > /etc/sendmail.cf
    4. As oracle user, perform test to verify mail can be sent at Operating System (OS) Level:
    mail -s "MY EMAIL TEST" "<email_address>" <press enter>
    This is a test message <press enter>
    CC: <press enter>
    5. Verify that the email has been sent ok by checking the email inbox.
    B. Configure Email Settings in Agent's emd.properties
    1. In the <OH>/sysman/config/emd.properties, add the email configuration details:
emd_email_address=<Email address of the user, to whom the mail needs to be sent>
    emd_email_gateway=<SMTP gateway details>
emd_from_email_address=<a fictitious 'From' email address that will be shown in the email, to uniquely identify the email>
    For example:
    emd_email_address: [email protected]
    emd_email_gateway:foo.uk
    emd_from_email_address: agent@dbmachine
    2. Comment the following lines in <OH>/sysman/config/emd.properties, if they exist:
    # emd_email_address=_NOT_AVAILABLE_
    # emd_email_gateway=_NOT_AVAILABLE_
    # emd_from_email_address=_NOT_AVAILABLE_

  • Information about databases available through portal?

I am an Oracle Portal novice so please excuse the question. What type of information can I extract from a database using Oracle Portal so that it can be published to the web? I am interested in things such as (to name a few):
    Instance Alias
    Instance Name
    Server
    Port
    DB Version
    SGA Size and Status
    Tablespace information
    Connected Sessions

Most of this information (and more) can be retrieved through the portal immediately. There is a portlet for database information in Portal Admin Pages (portal30.home).

Why system can move mailbox database active from HQ site to DR site and otherwise?
Is it related with network issue?

    Hi Henry Stefanus,
I am not familiar with Exchange server and can not advice you how to check the Exchange log, but based on my experience in some situation there have instability of connection
between Exchange and Active Directory system may caused the failover ether, you can check your confirm your network work properly.
At the cluster side you can use the following method to get the cluster log then found the failover reason.
Please run: Get-ClusterLog –Destination C:\temp on Powershell in one Exchange 2013 server in the DAG. By default, it will collect the cluster logs on all DAG members.

  • Cisco 5 with Exchange 2010 and Database Availability Groups

    Hi,
Unity 5 was installed a long time. Recently installed with the latest ES88 to the system. The fact is we have Exchange 2007 (clustered) mailbox server in the network environment, and introduced the Exchange 2010 (with DAG activated).
So far we didn't do any "re-partnering" from the Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010. The end users are working fine by leaving voice message and can retreive their voice without too much issue, no matter where the End Users account are located, Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010.
But lately, there was some actions taken in the Exchange environment. Some Exchange 2010 mailstore databases in one of the Exchange 2010 server, with DAG has been activated.
In this case, we are now unable to leave any voice messages to the end usrs. All the voice messages are now being held in C:\CommServer\UnityMTA.
Want to ask, does Unity 5 and Exchange 2010 compatible with DAG? Also, is that my problem is caused by re-partnering server not taken place? If yes, which Exchange 2010 mailbox database server I should point to? Reason is, there will have 3 physical servers, and with several DB mailstore, if I select one of the physical server, and one of the D mailstore, will this be affected when the DAG is activated?
    Thanks
    Timothy

    Hi Yancy,
If you're referring to integrating Microsoft Exchange 2010 with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) 5.x for voicemail purposes, via a SIP Trunk, then you could certainly have a go at it (a Media Termination Point would be required and the codec would be G.711).   However, I'm not aware of anyone having properly tested it with CUCM 5.x; given that it's not having software maintenance releases written for it anymore.   CUCM 5.0 stopped having software maintenance releases written for it in June 2009, and CUCM 5.1 in February this year.
The following Tech Tip is likely to assist:
