ReportServer is NOT the default URL. It is normally

SCCM Reporting Configuration Issue

I'm really hoping someone can help out because I have spent far too much time on this already.
We I go to Monitoring and Reports and "Report Options" I get this error when trying to select a default reporting server:
"There is a problem connectiong to the specified reporting server. Please check the connection and make sure SQL reporting services is running on the specified server." (the typo is
in the error message)
I can get the web URLs for the report server and all the reports are there so I know that SSRS is working but I can't get them to show up in the console.

Report structure issue

EPM 10 SP15
I have a requirement to build a asymmetric column axis and dynamic row expansion input form to be done. If i can do this, that would avoid unnecessary building the same structure with 7 different reports to construct the asymmetric columns. But i am facing an issue that the rows not expanding.
Based on Vadim static report blog i am convinced that we can have a static asymmetric col axis and have a dynamic row axis but looks like in my report build it is not expanding on the row.
Here is what i did
1) Build the column axis as below resulting in EPMOlapMemberO cells referring to other excel cells. Basically I wanted to show i have a asymmetric column axis need.

2) Row axis should expand based on parent node like

What i did:
By enabling member recognition i created the col axis cells referring to the cells i already constructed manually
I manually entered a dummy member in row axis cell with member recognition on
It automatically recognized col and rows and created a default report
So far so good.
Now i went to row axis selection and made the member selection to Customer Group (member & children selection).
Then i refreshed the report assuming it would expand on row but it didn't do anything
Am i doing something wrong? Is it possible to have a static col axis with dynamic row axis?
I also want to ask if this is a safe approach to build a report with static col axis and dynamic row axis. Would it prevent me from inserting local members in col axis later?
Any help is appreciated..

You are doing something incorrectly. If you have row axis Customer member definition as:
Context (Member and Descendants)
Then if you change context to some parent and refresh - your row axis will be expanded to Member and Descendants of the context parent.
You can also use =EPMDimensionOverride for Customer.
"If I follow this construction, can I add local members in between the columns at later time?" - yes, you can insert local member columns.
"I plan to do PageAxis override" - what do you mean by override? EPMDimensionOverride is applicable only for row and column dimensions! You can use Excel formulas as it's described in the blog.

XI R2 To 3.1 Sp2 migration and report format issues

Hello,
is there a way to fix or troubleshoot report format issues after migrating to 3.1?
We have a heavy report that the format (the way the report looks) is very important. In crytal Reports 2008 sp2 the format is OK.
But from BOE CMC or from url reporting the report format have problems.

Hi Ruhver,
Crystal Report documents are heavily dependant on the printer driver for formatting. If you design the report using a specific default driver than it will be dependant on that printer driver for formatting. When you publish it to Enterprise, the same printer driver may not exist so the report will be re-formated to fit the default driver on the server, or if no driver exists, it will use an internal method to format the report.
Try this as a test.
1) Open your report in the CR 2008 designer.
2) Click on the File/Page Setup.
3) Select the "No Printer" option. This tells the report to use this internal method to format the report
4) Save this document as "Title - No Printer"
5) Export it to Enterprise
6) Test this report again. Formatting should be identical in BOE vs CR.
Keep in mind that when you change the driver in step 3, the report in the designer will re-format. You may need to tweak the report again in order for the formatting to be as desired.
Test this out and if you require further assistance with this, I would suggest opening a message. This is a common issue and a support engineer could likely help you with this pretty easily.

Users not able to see all the default reports in FDM under analysis

All,
Users in FDM are not able to see all the default reports which will be available under Analysis. I have checked the MenuNavigation and MenuNavigationItems under object maintainence in FDM which have "ALL" as the provisioning level. I am not sure where the issue is as the users still not able to see the reports. Please advise if there is something that can be done in workbench.

You can set security on Report folders in workbench. You would go to the report tab in workbench, and right click on a Folder (Cannot do it on the individual report, it has to be on the folder), and you can assign security levels to the report folder. There are some in here that default to the admin level but you can override it.

I have installed Oracle 11g Fusion Middleware (11.1.1.3.0) on Oracle Linux 5 and getting some issues while configuring. What's happening is that when I run my report, it looks for the library attached to it. If I define the REPORTS_PATH in reports.sh, it works fine.
What I want to achieve is to push reports to use REPORTS_PATH environment variable from rwserver.conf instead of reports.sh
Someone told me to remove the REPORTS_PATH from reports.sh and add the REPORTS_PATH from reports.sh to a default.env in rwserver.conf, but it didn't worked.
What I know about the report server stuff in 11g Fusion Middleware is that it consists of two different servers (Standalone and In Process). Our application runs report using SRW.RUN_REPORT which basically use In Process report server setting in rwserver.conf to run the report.
The heirarchy in which reports try to look for the REPORTS_PATH is
1) REPORTS.sh
2) rwserver.conf
3) Settings as per Oracle Enterprise Manager Configuration Settings.
My standalone report server name is ReportsServer_hostname_asinst_F and the In Process Server name is rep_wls_reports_hostname_asinst_frd. When I define rep_wls_reports_hostname_asinst_frd (In process Report Server Name) for the server name parameter, I do not get any results for the report run using srw.run_report. Also I can't see the reason behind the report executed because of the following issue

Web Sheets - how to delete a default report

hi,
I have created a websheet data grid with a primary and a few other default reports. I cannot seem to be able to delete a report once created, any hints? checked the OBE and didn't see it, only how to create, not delete report.

Thank you so much for the quick response. Here is the deal, I have a APEX application that is ready to be rolled out across John Fowlers Sun Systems division. It simply tracks source code deposite for all Systems releases to Oracle Manufacturing, this is a legal requirement.
The tool is ready but I am having a very confusing time trying to get the reports to work and get published correctly. I really appreciate your help, I am sure I am just missing a couple items.
So I have added you to the workspace as admin. The workspace is : ESCROW TRACKING APPLICATION
What I am trying to do is delete report number 5. I cannot find the red x you are referring to, please provide exact navigation steps.
I am also trying to add a section to the home page that has a table report. The home page will have two reports, the primary and then an alternative default report which is a table summary with some aggregates and colomn groupings.
The issue is APEX allows me to add the section and the data report and it looks good, the problem is when other uses log in they see the section but it only has a search bar, the actual table does not get displayed.
If easier I can schedule a 20 minute webconference to go over this.
I am emailing you screen shots for all the items above

Can default report server and OC4J be used ..?

*1*. I had a report server named stcreportserver that was working fine during the testing phase but suddenly it started throwing errors like cannot connect to report server,cannot open file and cannot get the job id........
I would like to know when i host this application on the windows server 2003 for the users can i use the default report server instead of creating a new server.....
*2.* I have got another application say app2 ...so for hosting do i need to make some additional configurations like creating a new oc4j instance for this application...or can i use the default oc4j instance that i use for my first application.
Note: I use the same database for both the application but different schemas.


We did some tests and discovered the following: 


Using "null" for the filename.


If I pass in "null" for the fileName, my code runs without any issues and the FRS file is now changed to a new random file, but this file does not have the .rpt extension. I can preview the report in the CMC without any issues, but the underlying file is missing the .rpt extension. I can manually add the .rpt extension and open the report in the CR Designer without any issues. In this case, the InfoObject's SI_UPDATE_TS property is updated.


Using a new filename 
If I change the fileName in anyway, such as prepending "1" to the fileName, my code runs without errors as well. I can see that the FRS file has been updated with the new name and it does have the .rpt extension. 
 
In this case, the InfoObject's SI_UPDATE_TS property is updated as well.


Currently we don't know the following things:


Is this supported, or is this just a bug?

Link to report an issue with Podcast update

Someone posted a link so we could report an issue with the Podcast app the last time there were issues with an upgrade.
I sync with my laptop iTunes. Since this latest update to the app, when I delete a podcast in iTunes on my laptop it will not delete on my i devices during a sync with my laptop. It just grays them out and leaves them on my device. It looks like I can manually delete them, but when you click the edit function to delete them, they are no longer grayed out, so you can't tell which to delete and which to keep.
I don't do anything with the cloud, because I have limited wifi service and do most of my updating at a free wifi hotspot.
If someone has that online link on where to report issues, I would appreciate you posting it again and this time I will save it.

Access to customizing default: report templates

I seem to remember far back in the corners of my memory, someone here on the forum mentioning that although we didn't have access at the time (probably back at HTMLDB 2.0) to customize the default report templates, that there were plans to make this an option in a future version of Apex. Does anyone have any idea if this is something that is being planned, or better yet, available today?
If you're not sure what I'm talking about I'm referring to the field that says 'Report Template' in the 'Layout and Pagination' section of the 'Report Attributes' page in the application builder.
The problem I'm having is that I'm using the 'default: vertical report, look 2 (show null columns)' report template and I've got some long column headings that I want to include a line break between each word of the heading, so they're stacked vertical instead of wide horizontally. I've add HTML break tags to the headings but they're disappearing when the page is rendered.
I've made sure to set the 'Strip HTML' setting to 'No', but whether it's set to yes or no doesn't matter, the headings display the same either way.
BTW, doing the same thing in a template based multi-row report seems to work fine. However, trying to use/apply the 'Value Attribute Pairs' report template yields the same result as the default vertical look template.
So I have 2 questions:
1) anyone know how I can make these heading words stack up vertically, one word to a line?
2) are we going to get access to customize the default report templates?

Probably the best way to do this is to just hard code
a between your words.That's exactly what I'm doing (and what I said in my original post), however those breaks are disappearing during page rendering when I choose the report templates I mentioned.
I don't understand why this technique works in the multi-row report templates and not in these vertically oriented value/attribute report layouts.

No, you should just use a regular theme based
template, the default report templates are there for
backwards compatibility and well basically for people
that don't care about the UI. Since your at the point
it seems you do care about UI the proper thing to do
is to move to a standard report template that you
have full control over.Fair enough. I'll look into that, but I think there's still an open question here as to why the HTML breaks aren't being returned in the page markup for these report layouts.

Reporting annoying issues for the entire Microsoft website (MSDN, forums, all)

Is there any place where I can report bugs with how the Microsoft web sites behave? I can only find forums and "Microsoft Answers" categories about single products that Microsoft makes, but nothing about the infrastructure itself.
For about two weeks now, I am required to log into my account every few hours whenever I access any Microsoft website. This includes MSDN help content, forums, or other resources. I need to login after opening the website through F1 help in Visual Studio
as well as accessing a microsoft.com link from anywhere else like a web search or a direct link from web or an application.
Auto-complete does not work either. My browser (Firefox) does save the password, but it never fills it into the form. Other people have already noticed that
Microsoft applies some dirty tricks here. And even if the login is remembers for a moment, it's slow as hell. It takes a second or two to load the login.live.com page (which is not what I wanted to see), then it sits there for some more seconds before going
anywhere. Other login services like Google or StackOverflow manage to log me in all within one second and most of the time I don't even see it.
And then there's still that insecure SSL-to-non-SSL-submit warning that only occurs in other browsers then IE. Has anybody cared about that in the last couple years?! I'm not getting it now, probably because I'm not logged in anymore. It all slowly falls
apart, piece by piece. Next step is probably losing my data or not loading it at all.
THIS – IS – ANNOYING! And it really makes me feel like I don't want to use Microsoft products anymore (because even good desktop applications are connected to that silly website). I have opened a
Microsoft Connect ticket for a part of this issue (it's grown bigger since then), but this ticket is totally ignored. If microsoft.com went down, they'd certainly care within minutes or hours. This bug is not even regarded in
weeks!
So do I have to write a postal letter to the president of the whole company or do they have support staff for that?! Do they have anybody who is capable of maintaining their website? It's really frustrating how Microsoft has a web presence that is worse
than what our first-year trainees come up with. It's full of bugs and this is currently only the most relevant one. Do they even care about how the world sees them? Or is Microsoft currently preparing (and even failing) to move out of business?

Crystal Reports localization issue

Hi,
I am using Crystal Reports for .NET version 2005. Also, I am utilizing SQL Server 2005 as my database server. The problem is when I deploy applications in Spanish countries (maybe others, but did not try yet). The problem happens when dates are passed to SQL Server 2005, but only through Crystal Report engine.
I guess the question is if there is special need to localize crystal report setup?
