No deseo Itunes como reproductor media predeterminado

Saludos a todos,no se que modifique pero ahora mi itunes se abre cuando trato de ver un video o archivo adjunto en mi messenger,y no abre mi reproductor media de windows,como lo hacia enteriormente,total no puedo ver el video,busque en inicio-configurar accesos y programas determinados y efectivamente ahora la configuracion esta personalizada,trato de poner programas de microsoft windows como predeterminados y nada ,vuelve a caer en personalizados,no se que hacer ayuda urgente Gracias...

Ya lo resolvi, me volvi loco sin necesidad , Busque un archivo de vídeo guardado en mi pc con el mismo formato de los videos del Messenger, luego Haga segundo clic en el video guardado, luego ,abrir con - elegir programa, Haga clic en Reproductor de Windows Media, Marcar - "Utilizar Siempre el programa selecionado para abrir este tipo de archivos" y por ultimo Haga clic en Aceptar y listo, espero que por lo menos le sirva a otros ja, ja gracias

Why does itunes and other media continue to play when i close the lid on my macbook pro 2011???

Hey, I am new to mac and still getting used to it (making the transition from windows), its amazing! Anyhow, I cannot figure out why my itunes and other media like youtube or a film on vlc player continues to play once the lid has been closed. I thought that when i close the lid the macbook should then sleep. It does everytime when there is nothing playing. The little white light on the bottom right hand corner of the book is on but music continues to play.
The sleep option always works. If I press the power button and choose the option sleep it does so etcc.
Is this normal and am I just being stupid or is there a problem??
I bought the laptop from ebay, its a macbook pro late 2011 17inch. I dont have apple support and might have to make a trip into London to the mac store however I was hoping someone can help me...

hey, thanks for the reply. I don't know to be perfectly honest. When I close the lid without any music playing it sleeps fine. How could I check?
So basically I pressed the power button and pressed sleep. The laptop turned off and the little white light turned on no problem. I did the same thing with closing the lid and it went to sleep no problem. (Can you confirm that when the little white light is on it means the laptop is sleeping)??.
I then had itunes playing and pressed the power button and when i pressed sleep the music paused then 6 seconds later it went to sleep. I then had itunes playing and closed the lid and the music kept on playing even though the white light was on.

Itunes: i want to find a single fix for missing music on itunes rather than using "iTunes: Finding lost media and downloads" on a case by case basis.

recently when i was creating a playlist, i realized that i was missing music from my extensive itunes (12.0.1.26) library. i found the solution "itunes: finding lost media and downloads" and used the general approach to find the music in finder and copy it to itunes. i don't want to do this every time i find i am missing music. is there an automated fix? i want apple to develop a way to automate the fix. can it be that this isn't a problem for many people?
i ask this now because i just looked for music i thought i had but can't find. maybe i am wrong about having the artist, but it has happened on another artist too. i can't trust itunes to tell me whether i have a song or not. i don't want to keep going back to finder, especially when the instructions in "itunes: finding lost media and downloads" doesn't actually reflect my system (os x 10.7.5).
i don't want to try to do a restore. i have never done a restore on my mac (previously a pc user). and, i don't know how far back to take the restore to find the old music. and then music i have added since i lost the old music wouldn't be there.
i understand that there are so many system variables that apple would need to take into consideration with a general fix. but: i am assuming that apple's changes have caused my problem and feel that apple should do something to fix it. perhaps my assumption is incorrect.

limnos, i always have backups. the problem is that i don't know how far back in time to take a restore because i don't know how long this has been going on. and, if i take the restore back very far, i will lose what has been added since the music started to disappear.
i don't even know what you mean when you say "you will check there aren't any broken links (use a script from the Dougscripts web site) before you do a backup."
i agree with you to some extent about not automatically installing upgrades. i'm still running lion and was pushed to it from snow leopard. the problem is that i have a hard time envisioning the changes described in an update to judge whether something is valuable or not.
i have questions about your last paragraph. i'm going to repeat it here and then insert my questions as i go. please forgive my all caps for the moment:

I GOT A MESSAGE ABOUT SOME OF THE TRACKS BEING DUPLICATES THAT ASKED WHETHER I WANTED TO IGNORE OR IMPORT. I CHOSE IMPORT BECAUSE ITUNES DIDN'T TELL ME WHAT WAS DUPLICATED. IT WAS ONLY AFTER RE-IMPORTING SEVERAL CD'S THAT I REALIZED THAT THERE WERE NOW DUPLICATES OF THE CD'S: THE FILES I HAD JUST LOADED AND THOSE THAT I HAD LOADED SOME TIME AGO. THE ORIGINALS MAGICALLY APPEARED AFTER I RE-IMPORTED THE CD'S. I'M GUESSING THAT THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF A BROKEN LINK I DON'T KNOW HOW TO RECOGNIZE A BROKEN LINK OR HOW TO PREVENT ONE. I bought a Sandisk Connect Media Drive, downloaded the app from iTunes. Before iOS 8, movies played fine. After iOS upgrade I can no longer play movies downloaded from iTunes to the media drive. Anyone else have a similar issue?

I checked with SanDisk's own online support and they indicate that they have notified Apple of the issue.
According to SanDisk, the problem lies with Apple not having the iOS 8 version of the Safari browser having DRM decoding enabled that the Media Drive relies upon to decode and play iTunes DRM titles. Non DRM encoded videos will play in the browser.
DRM audio is not effected as this is handled by the native iOS music app.
As of the date of this post SanDisk have not been given a timeframe by Apple for this issue to be resolved.
I hope that Apple resolves this issue quickly as I have a large collection of DRM video titles on a 128Mb memory card installed in the Media Drive that I am unable to view.

Possibly. Media Go supports a variety of music formats, some of which can be imported in to iTunes and then synced on to an iPhone, however some of its formats cannot be imported in to iTunes.
See http://mediago.sony.com/enu/supported-file-formats/ for a list of formats supported by Media Go. iTunes for Windows supports MP3, AAC, WAV, and can import and convert WMA files as well. However iTunes does not support ATRAC, or FLAC.
Furthermore, if some of your music has been bought from an Internet music store it might be procted by DRM. If so it cannot be imported in to iTunes.

You don't "play iTunes" in Windows Media. Both of these apps are media players: one native to Mac OSX-- iTunes and the other native to MS-- XP; Vista; Win7. The popularity of iPods initially, then iPhones and now iPads caused Apple to make iTunes+QuickTime available for Windows users who wanted to own and use those mobile devices but retain their Windows machines. The issue that you are asking is whether or not you can play your audio files in WinMedia instead of in iTunes. Yes, you can. You will need to launch Windows Media player and import into the library the audio files which are "living" in iTunes. Actually they are in the "My Music" folder of your home on the C: drive.

You don't as far as I know. Windows Media Player is the proprietary player for windows devices, iTunes is the proprietary player for stuff purchased from iTunes.
The only way you can get files to freely transfer between the two programs is if they are not purchased from either service, but are ripped from a CD you own. Downloaded files have DRM (digital rights management) embedded in them that often restricts what you can/can't do.

Escrevo em Portugues talvez percebas.
Assignar um botão para mudar os patch a partir do m08 sem mexer no MAC é fácil.
No Mainstage ir a Layout Mode e e clicar no botão patch baixo (tem uma figura de uma seta para baixo) clicar em learn e de seguida clicar no botão que deseja no m08. Fazer o mesmo passo para o patch cima ou qualquer outro controle que desejes assignar.

iTunes Settings for Media on External Drive via Airport Extreme base station versus plugging directly into laptop.
My current configuration is that my iTunes Media (700gb) are all stored in an External Drive that's plugged into my Airport Extreme Base Station. This works great for me having wireless access to my iTunes external drive.
Whenever I need to back up that hard drive with Time Machine, I just plug it directly to my laptop...
But how do I let iTunes (or iTunes library) know that this is the same hard drive where all my media is stored when it's plugged directly into the laptop as opposed to trying to access it from my Airport Extreme network?

No there isnt any files call library in the folder i created I am now in the process of copying them back but I guess I will loose all my playlists and playcounts. I do have a Copy of my drive that i made with carbon copy cloner. So maybe it will be best to boot from there, restore and start again.
Chris it was just the media folder. I was following the instructions on the apple support page. Got to point 14 didn't get the warning but did seen to have a brand new itunes, so emptied the trash as they said expecting everything to be fine but it wasnt.

Why Doesn't Making iTunes Your Default Media Player Always Work?

I bought a new hard drive on my desktop PC and I installed Windows 7 Pro on it. I just installed iTunes version 10.6.1.7. Everything that's in my itunes music folder seems to be playing fine.
When I inserted an mp3 audio file (from Dropbox)into my iTunes folder and double-clicked to play it, Windows Media Player opened and played it. So I opened the Auto Play window in Windows Control Panel to make iTunes my default audio player.
I was able to set iTunes as my default player when I insert an audio CD into my PC. iTues also plays songs that I download from the internet. But when I attempted to select iTunes as my default player for audio files that I copied and pasted into the iTunes folder, it wasn't listed on the pulldown menu. The only choices listed on the pulldown menu are:
Windows Media Player
Input Pictures & Video Using Dropbox
Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer
Take No Action and
Ask Me Every Time
