No "Diagnostics Administration" in RCA workcenter
Hello,
SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 EHP 1 SP20
I'm using the RCA workcenter but there is no "Diagnostics Administration". Only "Diagnostics Setup" is usable.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Hello Patrick,
I think you might be using outdated documentation, in the past there were references to "Diagnostics Administration" before SP18 (EHP1).
Now the "Diagnostics Setup" (or quicklink http://<solman_host>:port/smd) is the diagnostics administration.

Hi,
I'm trying to assign the necessary Root Cause Analysis roles for read access to a user. But without
success:
I assigned the following roles to the user:
- SAP_RCA_DISP
- SAP_RCA_EXE
- SAP_SMWORK_BASIC
- SAP_SMWORK_DIAG
- SAP_BI_E2E
But the user can't select any systems in the RCA Workcenter and the Button (Workload Analysis, Change Analysis,...)
are not correct displayed. There are strange letter chains visible.
Has someone an idea how to fix this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Joern .Hello,
Permission issues always cause the buttons not to show up, never a string of chars...
A "strange letter chains visible" is not common. I suspect that your stack is not consistent. The workload analysis
page is ABAP Based, Webdynpro ABAP. Please check if your components are according to note 1274287. In solman_setup, do a pre-requisite check to see if there's any warning regarding your stack.

SMD - Diagnostic Administration -- Managed Systems takes long time
Hi All,
On SMD administration URL , http://system:50000/smd ---> Diagnostics administration ---> Agent Administration --> managed systems takes very long time.
Sometimes it never ends and keep on going...
CPU utilization is also very high...
Have anyone encountered this issue ?
We are using Solman 7.00 on Solaris, DB is oracle.
Thanks!Reply with ur System Technical Note,
find below DOCS for Solman System Technical Config,

Basically SMD is mostly dependant on J2ee Heap and Abap Configuration. Set up the required Heap and T-Code ST02 paramaters properly and call the SMD again.

Introscope webview from System Monitoring workcenter
Hi All,
I had installed Wily 8.2.2 and its working fine. Iam able to launch it from RCA workcenter.
When I try from System Monitoring workcenter I get blank page URL= http://<solman server>:8000/sap/public/myssocntl?sap-client=200
I went to SICF and deactivated this service just to check, after I deactivated the service when I tried to launch webview from system monitoring workcenter
I get http://<wily_server>:<WILY_PORT>/webview/console/frameset.do?managementModuleName=SAP_J2EE&dashboardName=2.SAPJ2EE+Triage&domain%20%20Name=SuperDomain
It has not recognized my wily server and port.
Is this a bug? if yes how can I correct this.
Regards,
ShyamHi,
As mentioned earlier... wily is working fine when launched from RCA workcenter.
Issue is: When I try to launch webview from system monitoring workcenter I get "page can be displayed" some IE error.
it is pointing me to http://server:port/sap/public/myssocntl?sap-client=300
Is this a bug... could you please try this in your system. I have Solman SPS23.

RCA:Database Monitoring error for SAP Systems on OS/4000 with DB4
Hello Experts,
We are trying to add ECC systems in DATABASE monitoring(DBACOCKPIT) in RCA workcenter of solman 7.0 ehp1 sp26, the DBSID of the systems are shown as *LOCAL.hence the system is not getting added .This is the case only for system on OS/400 and DB4.
The DBSID in RCA is fetched from SMSY-Which is fetched from SLD->The data supplier in ECC pushing the data to SLD
The DBSID in System(Menu)-Status is showing as LOCAL, hence this DBSID(LOCAL) is reported in SLD->SMSY
any pointers on this?Hi Nilesh,

E2e Root Cause Analysis Checklist
Hello everyone,
I know I am close to getting some systems setup for RCA, but nothing is showing up in EWAs or within the RCA workcenter.
My system is currently at 7.01 SP05.
Since I've gone through the solman_setup and received all green lights through setting up my diagnostics system and a couple managed I don't know what else to get done. I know the managed system wizard is a step-through but I am asking for help setting up a checklist to make sure I've got everything installed and checked.
Configuration:
Initial - complete
Basic - complete
Diagnostics System
setup wizard - green light
advanced setup - green light
upgrader - green light
Managed Systems
I have a bunch of different systems with green lights under setup results; ABAP, JAVA, and Dual Stack
ISAGENT
I've got updated isagents installed on each system
Wily
Currently at the latest release and our Solution Manager system is connected
SMD Agents
each server/LPAR has an agent installed and is attached
I'd like to finish this up but again I am missing something?!?
Thanks for any help on this one.
RyanHello Ryan,
I would suggest you visit these two links:
> http://service.sap.com/diagnotics - media library - here you can get installation and troubleshooting guides
and
> http://service.sap.com/EWA
This way you have all the steps documented, and you can check what you have done so far against what is required, and identify the gaps.
Hopefully this information has been helpful.

This application is not yet configured. Please refer to the E2E post-instal
Hi,
I have configured the SMD on Solution Manager 4.0 SP 11, LMSERVICE SP12 (Before it was SP 11 but is still had the same error)
Wily Introscope 7.1.
The solution has been published and I able to use all the other diagnostic modules except for E2E.
When I click on any E2E Workload/Exception etc I get the following message
"This application is not yet configured. Please refer to the E2E post-installation steps"
What are the specific steps to enable my application for E2E?
Thanks,
VikramHi Bernd

This step has been completed, and there are no errors. I don't think I need an RFC since my managed system is a J2ee stack Netweaver ( 2004s SP12 ). This is the message that I see in the E2E Log Analysis scheduler "Execution succeeded in 3188 ms. Next execution in 60 min(s)."

I have set the custom values to true for the following:
e2e_log_analysis_configured
e2e_trace_configured
e2e_ workload_analysis_configured
In the Propertysheet.application.global.properties, restarted the apps
But I still get the same error.
Is there any other configuration involved?
BTW, Is there any document that details the above steps you have pointed out? I guess I must have gone through all the diagnostics set up guide, but have not come across this uptill now
Once again Thanks a lot!

System not seen in SMD inspite of being present in SMSY
Hi all,
We have upgraded a system 2 months back. While setting the SMD for the managing system ,found that the landscape management (in SMD) is not updated with the right version of the system,so deleted it from there.
Further continued to Diagnostics setup-managed systems-setup wizard; but here i didnt find my system for which the SMD should be set up.I have installed the SMD agents they are up and running.
Also checked the system in SMSY,found that there is discrepancy with the system in " LOGICAL COMPONENTS" and corrected the right version there.
I ran the SMD wizard for the managing system i.e SMD upgrade ,also ran the upgrader expecting that the SMD will pull the system data from SMSY,but nothing of sought has happened.
Note 1113137 - Outdated Solution in Solution Manager Diagnostics ,isnt relevant to my case.
Also i understand that using tcode SMDIAG_WIZARD isnt relevant for my case ,we have solman 7.0 sp stack level 17.
Could any one please let me know how can i have the system in SMD
i.e. how to restart the soltuion setup and relaod the landscape.

Hello everybody,
I have some confusion about the SOLMAN user is must required in solution manager?
because i had delete some users in the solution manager.
If SOLMAN user is must required then please tell me the
user type
What should be the password?
Authorization required?
is SOLMAN is required in solution manager and in the satellite system
Thanks
GaneshHi Ganesh,
SOLMAN user?. It seems its not a default user. perhaps deleting it, depends on the functionality for which you use this user. If its for Basic Configurations and Diagnostics administration, it may be needed for trouble shooting and for further configurations.
Is it a Administrative user for above mentioned cases?.
Thanks,

at topic 2.2 promises the EFWK to offer "an API for the Setup Wizard of Solution Manager Diagnostics (SMD) which will activate all relevant extractors based on how a system was modeled in transaction
SMSY" I would like to use it.
After doing some research I still haven't found out how?!
Anybody out there who knows more about this Setup Wizard or has any link for me?
Many thanks in advance.

Managed System Setup Wizard Status " ? " SPS 15
Dear All,
I have a problem with my SMD.
I have already upgrade the Solution Manager 4.0 from SPS 13 to SPS 15.
I want to setup E2E Root Cause Analysis for CRM system.
So I configured SMSY since I didn't configure SLD yet.
I've already installed SMD Agent in managed system successfully also.
When I run the Diagnostics Setup -> Managed System -> Setup WIzard,
in the Setup Parameter Step , it said that " No SMD Agent is currently available (ie not assigned). Please install an agent for jktgrhxsapc1 or unassign an existing agent in Agent Administration Why is that so ?
In the Agent Administration ( DIagnostics Administration -> Managed SYstem -> Agent Administration) found that the agent is online.
Second, In managed system setup wizard - System Selection Step, there's an unknown system with SID '???' and the status said that 'Some SMD Agent Runnning on host not belonging any successfully published solution' . Where can we find the log if we have an error when publishing solution ?
Thanks in advance,
AdhiHi Labinot,
I have checked the agent log looks like no error,
