No Digital Sound, with X_FI Fata1ity Card. HELP

I haveing a heck of a time getting digital sound from vista, I have my speakers pkluged into the flex jack, but can't seem to find where do set the digital sound option within vista, using creative audio console, have spdif set to default and 48, have the speakers set in the sound option in control panel undwr custom to enable Digital I/O, is this right, as I have speakers and SPDIF both listed under sound in the control panel, and yes it does work with analog from the card. Am I understanding this correctly that I need to buy another piece of equiptment to make the sound card work for digital sound? A Digital I/O module for another $5?Seems pretty dumb not to include this.

No, you DON'T need the Digital I/O to use the digital output of your card. Just a plain 3.5mm stereo jack with a pair of RCA connectors on the other end - it will give you the digital coaxial connection. If you want optical digital connection, yes, you need the extra module.And for that speakers, NO, you cannot use a digital connection. NO SOUND with iMAC 24 - Please help

I have tried everything.........searched for drivers, everything, installed boot camp drivers from the CD numerous times.........I can't get rid of the ?pci device that shows up in the device manager. I am using windows xp sp3. The ? still shows up in the device list and I have no sound............everything else is perfect and great, but can't get sound!!!!!!!! I tried to update driver from realtek and sigmatel from the location on the hard drive and CD and no help. I DLed new drivers from realtek, no help..............does anyone know??????????

For those that are interested, this DOES work, as I have just tried this using SP3...........this is from another forum:

Basicly, download the file at the bottom of the page, unzip, go to Device Manager, right click the yellow (?) PCI driver, mark to select your own location and direct it to where you unzipped your file. That's it. UAA driver should be found and you should be able to hear sound.
If not yet, try now to re-install your audio drivers, and it should work. (if on mac, that means re-install boot camp drivers).
When doing the above, if it asks about a missing file, then point to where you just unzipped everything, it should be there, as it was for me. And, finally, in device manager, I still had one more issue for "audio device on high definition BUS" AFTER i corrected the PCI. To fix this, in device manager, I simply selected UPDATE DRIVER and use the MAC CD (or BOOTCAMP) and reinstalled the drivers and all worked fine after...................
I now have sound with my IMAC 24in and Windows XP SP3 (yes, i don't want to use much of XP at all, but it's nice to have............

Problem Getting 3D Sound With AWE64 Gold Card in DOS

Hi,
I cannot get 3D Sound to work with my AWE64 Gold Card in MS-DOS.
In the C:>SB16 directory, I type CT3DSE to enable 3D Enhancement Technology but I receive the message, your card does not support 3D Sound Technology. I was able to activate it in the past and now I can't.
I installed the DOS drivers from the AWE64 Gold CD - so incorrect drivers are not the issue here.
Could it be that there's not enough free Conventional Memory to activate this feature? I have 510KB free.
Can anyone help?

Mystery solved.
There are at least two models of the AWE 64 Gold: The CT4540 and the CT4390. The 4540 does NOT support 3D Creative Enhancement Technology. The 4930 does. This may seem odd as one would expect the higher model to be more advanced.

Flash movies makes horrible "flickering" sound with new graphic card!

I just bought a Gigabyte GeForce 460 GTX 1GB and now when I watch Flash movies
the movies makes a really bad "flick" flick" "flick" sound. If i scroll down and away from the actuall movie screen
the bad sound stops and the movie plays normally. But soon as I scroll up to the movie the sounds starts again.
Can't stand the bad sound quality anymore!
I tried latest Firefox & Internet Explorer.
I tried uninstall both flash and drivers then reinstall with the latest updates.
I tried searching the web for solutions.
My PC:
HP Pavilion
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.60GHz 360GHz
Memory: 3 GB
System type: 32 bit

6052E card changes state. Is this possible?

If you're just getting started with Digital I/O with Traditional DAQ, I would take a look at some of the examples to see how to structure your code to do both input and output. There is one here (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/1113) that should give functionality similar to what you are looking for, but if you want more examples you can navigate to the examples by following the article here (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/46D0C7360A10D25F862571B5007B4411), so long as you have installed them along with Traditional DAQ.

Think i have a problem with my Video card help ???

Ok reason why i think this i currently have a black screen
I can still use the mac via screen share from my G5 so i know all is ok & i am currently making sure i'm backing up
I have tried to connect it to an external monitor but the mac doesn't register that there is one there
One other strange problem i can type ok but i cannot use my trackpad while i am in screen sharing mode

Well it's either your graphics card or the inverter for the screen I'd guess - either way the only people who can fix this for you are Apple.
The fact that it doesn't see an external monitor would suggest it's the card ...
I know this might sound like a dumb question but you have turned the brightness up fully and tried a PRAM reset haven't you ?
Parameter RAM reset - hold down command/option/p/r keys at start up and wait for three chimes before releasing the keys.

[SOLVED] Choppy sound with Intel audio card

Ever since I bought this laptop and installed Arch, I have experienced this annoying choppiness.
What happens is that when I highlight other windows, under the minimum memory/cpu load the sound is truncated. I can't listen to music pleasantly on my laptop, and I can't stand it.
My laptop is a HP 530, with an integrated Intel audio card. This is the output from hwd -s:
Sound(a) : 82801G ICH7 Family High Definition Audio Controller module: snd-hda-intel
I have 1Gb of RAM, and the processor doesn't seem very busy when the sound is truncated. This happens under any DE/WM - even in tty!
For what is worth, I had problems with the speakers not muting when the headphones were plugged in, and I have followed the method indicated here.

Auto is the default, it might not be resolving the model correctly (that's the case with my laptop). Try model=hp.
If that doesn't work, you could try turning off power saving:
options snd-hda-intel power_save=0

SR5139UK No sound with new graphics card

I replaced my graphics card , as the picture was becoming blurred, and often froze when warm. The new card is a ASUS EAH 5450 Silent card. Now for some strange reason I no longer have any sound available from my computer. If I insert the old card, i instantly get sound. I have uninstall both the sound drivers for Realtek, and the graphic driver without resolving the problem.
Any suggestions?

Are you using a HDMI connected monitor with internal speakers in the monitor? If you set HDMI as your default sound device in Realtek then you might get sound out of your standalone speakers. There is a way to get both working by using a separate Y audio cable into the back of your PC with one feed going to the monitor and the other to your standalone speakers.

No Sound with KT4 Ultra - FISR -- HELP!

I got a KT4 Ultra - FISR along with and XP 2400 and other goodies for christmas. I put the machine together and installed 98se, and all of the included drivers the came on the MSI Utilities disk. Everything was working perfectly with it (got 11752 on 3dmark 2001, is that a decent score?) anyways everything was cool except the on-board c-media sound was not working at all. ?( I have 2 speakers w/ sub and i have them plugged into the line out spot in the mobo. I have turned the sound on in my BIOS and messed with all the sound settings in windows and still i get no sound at all. I even unplugged the bracket that came with it for surround because i saw it could possibly cause some problems. I then checked all my connections and still no sound. X( I was woundering if there are any other settings or jumpers that i need to set for my sound to work. Any additional information on how to get my sound to work would be greately appreciated. My system specs are below. Thankz

Digital sound

Hi everyone.Does anyone know if there is anyway for me to play back in digital sound (ac3) movies i downloaded to my ipod nano 3G...what i mean is that I play them back through my TV but it plays them in surround sound, as I wanted to come out in AC3 digital sound.Thank you for your help in advance...Jose...

Audigy 4 Digital sound set up. Help me please!!

I recently brought an Audigy 4 sound card. I want to hook it up through my digital amp so i can have 5. digital sound etc. I connected the card with an optical cable in the digital input socket on the card.....Nothing works.
What am i doing wrong?
Do i need a different kind of cable? If so which one? Or is there someting i need to do in set up?
