No dimension is assigned to InfoObject 0REPTT

Good day all,
If you cant tell by my Subject I am new to SAP BW. I followed the Best Practices guide D13 Time and Labor Data to create the infocube 0PT_C01. I removed many items that were not working and got it down to items that our HR department would like to have. But I run into one problem... the subject is the error that I am receiving. I am trying to use 0REPTT but I keep getting this error. If I look at it under "Infosource" in the workbench I see both a text and a hierarchy symbol. I created an infopackage for the text but there is no extractor for the hierarchy item.
How do I create a dimension for it and how do I know what I have to put in the dimension? I am trying to extract data from a 4.7 Ext1.1 box. the connection is there. When I look at the 0REPTT item and click the maintain at the top I see the items in that object.... But I can not seem to use them in my infocube.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK Thank you both for your assistance. I have re-looked at my issue and find that I am missing an extractor for REPTT_HIER. I have a REPTT_TEXT and that is correct but when I right click on the infocube and go to InfoSource Overview I see that the Reporting Time Hierarchy is red. Will running tcode PDW1 (program RPPTDW01) create the Hierarchy part of this extractor?

Hi All,
There is a FM BAPI_IOBJ_CREATE which can create an Infoobject but the problem is it is not having provisions to get assigned to a particular " Infoobject Catalog".
Is there any other program or some way by which we can do it using the same FM.

To assign your Infoobject you must use a separate BAPI:
BAPI_IOBC_CHANGE
This function module changes an existing InfoObject catalog. Enter all the InfoObject catalog properties in the DETAILS parameter
If the Catalog doesn't exist you have another BAPI:
BAPI_IOBC_CREATE
This function module creates a new InfoObject catalog. You have to give all the InfoObject catalog properties in the DETAILS parameter

Analysing Dimensions and assigning the char

Hello Experts,
I have the following requirement
Selection:Companycode,Chart of Acconts,Fiscalyear,period
O/P: G/L account,costcenter,amount in local currency,WBS element.
I am using standard data source 0fi_gl_4 and stadard ODS 0figl_O02 and this does'nt have Standard cube (please tell me if it has standard cube) as i could'nt find any.
Could any one tell me what dimensions i need to take and which characteristics should be assigned under specific Dim for the above requirement. As i don't have knowledge on FIGL i am unable to analyse the things.
i have loaded the data till ODS and now gng for creating Z cube .please do the needful in analysing the dim and assigning the char,

Please take a look at these (in business content) as step up example, most of your chars should be included.
G/L (New): Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss 0FIGL_V10

Can't assign an infoobject using master data attribute of

I've added in 0purch_group to my cube and I want to assign it using the master data attribute selection but it doesn't bring back anything to choose from. the attribute is 0mat_plant_purch_group and I've made it navigational. any ideas?

So do you say that you dont have mat_plant included in ur cube.
Then what are trying to get into the field with out a source field. How do you want to fill the value if you dont have mat_plant - i mean which of 100 values of matplant and attribute values should be populated.

Creation of Multi Provider, using InfoCubes | Error in assigning dimensions

Hi All.
I am tryin to create a multi provider using five Info Cubes, sat A, B, C, D, E. Now all of them have chars and KF's. some of them are common.
I selected the relevant info providers, then in the Identification part, I selected "Select All" for Chars/ Time chars as well as KF's.
now when I am trying to Activate the Multi Provider, it says " No Dimension Assigned to InfoObject x, y, z and so. on ".
its clear that there is problem in assigning dimensions fr chars/kf's.
So in the Edit Multiprovider screen, I click on Dimensions. Then it prompts me to select "One" InfoProvider.( The options being from A, B, C, D, E) and if i select any one, (say A),the chars/KF's present in A, are getting assigned the dimensions, but the chars/kf's from other Info Cubes arent geting the dimension assigned.
what to do now? can any one help me out.please

1. Select your infoproviders
2. Select the characteristics you need
3. Select the identification criteria
4. Select Dimensions and assign characteristics

Problem in assigning Infoobjects to Catalog using BAPI_IBOJ_CHANGE

Hi Gurus,
I am creating infoobjects using BAPI_IOBJ_CREATE and assigning the created infoobjects to a catalog using BAPI_IOBJ_CHANGE.
But, while assign the info objects to a catalog, if the catalog already contains infoobjects they get unassigned, and the data they contained is lost.
Is it possible to assign the infoobjects to a infoobject catalog without affecting the already existing infoobjects in that catalog?
If yes, please mention how it can be done.

My problem is adding new infoobjects to a catalog without affecting the already existing infoobjects that exist in the catalog.

Hi,
1. All Characteristics in the Dimensions should have 1:n Relationship .
2. Characteristics which has M:N relationship can exist , if then cartesian product is not huge...i,e master data of A * Master Data of B is not Huge.
3. If Dimension has single Chracteristic it is better to Assign to Line Item dimension .
4. If size of dimension is greater than 20% of Fact table size , then make it Line item dimension .

How to assign infoobjects to infocube

I am currently working on BI 7.0, implementing xRPM scenarios as given in the
BI Content for SAP xRPM.Of the various scenarios, in Cost and Time Analysis scenario, the Flow diagram shows Infoobject assigned to Infocube
Eg. Infoobject 0RPM_TASK, 0RPM_PROJ assigned to infocube 03.

Assigning InfoObject with Master Data as InfoProvider

Hi,
In BW 3.x we used to assign the InfoObject with Master Data as InfoProvider only if we want to perform Query on that InfoObject.
But in BI 2004's, is it must to assign InfoObject with Master Data as an InfoProvider???
Because when I create the Transformation to load Text or Attribute Data, the system automatically assigs that InfoObject as an InfoProvider.
Is there a way to skip using that InfoObject as an InfoProvider during Tranformation if I do not want to perform any reporting on it.

No. It is not possible.
However for easy grouping, create another infoarea and attach all report relevent infoproviders under this infoarea.

Use of infoobject in multiprovider

HI Gurus,
What is the use of infoobject in multiprovider. I created a multiprovider which has one infocube and one infoboject. ZCOMP_CO is the master data and created as a datatarget. In infocube, ZCOMP_CO is in the dimension.
1. I assigned the ZCOMP_CO to infocube and excuted the multiprovider.
2. I assigned the ZCOMP_CO to both infocube and infoobject and excuted the multiprovider. Both the result for 1 and 2 are same.
So , what is the use of assigning the infoobject in multiprovider. And how the multiprovider will extract the data.

Multiprovider with InfoCube and InfoObject: You have an InfoCube with your products and sales. You combine this InfoCube with the 0MATERIAL InfoObject. This allows you to display any "slow-moving items", since products that do not result in sales are also displayed.

Problem with Dimension created in Multiprovider

Hi,
I have a multiprovider which has 5 Infocubes in it. There are seperate reports on both Infocube & Multiprovider. I added 2 new fields in a Infocube under a new dimension. I need this 2 fileds to be added to the Reports too. When i open the Query written on Infocube in Query Designer, i could see the fields on the left panel under the new dimension.
But, when i open the Query written on Multiprovider, i was not able to see the fields. So, i went to the Multiprovider in Backend, created a new dimension in the Multiprovider and added the 2 fields there. Now, i was able to see the fields in the Query written on Multiprovider too. I could see the changes reflecting in both the Queries. I did this in BI Development system.
Now the problem comes when transporting the Object to BI Quality system. When transporting the request, the transport is getting failed with the Error message "Dimension ZFIAA_MC14 not used; please delete". This is the dimension i have created in the Multiprovider. Now, if i delete the dimension in the Multiprovider the Multiprovider query will get affected. If i dont delete the dimension, the request cant be moved to BI Quality system. I am confused on how to proceed now.
Can anybody suggest me on what to do now? Thanks for your time.

Try to assign the infoobjects in that dimension to the respective infocube to fetch the data.
This can be done by right click on the infoobject and select assign-- check the check box of relevant info provider.
2. Transport first the infocube. then transport the Multi provider will resolve the issue.

Multi-provider can't add one time dimension

I have created one multi-provider, saved. I can't activiate it, so I try to add one time dimension characterstic,. for example :
Calendar Year/Month
I right click the "Time" dimension, only I can change description. the " insert" menuitem is greyed out. so how to add one time characterstic?

Procedure
Choose Identification and highlight the assignment for InfoObject 0VALUE_LC, or remove the InfoObject from the MultiProvider.
but I can't find "identification" , where is it?

created on date(created on cal day, created on cal week infoobjects)

Please help me how to design for the above requirement.

Just do this
1)No of open cases Current Assigne
Make a RKF on No of cases and restrict it with "closed on date" = #
Will give the cases which are not closed.
And then make a calculated key figure on this RKF with the function COUNT()
which is present in the data functions and is the first option.
it will count all the values which are open.
2)No of closed cases.
Make a RKF on No of cases and restrict it with "closed on date" != #

3)Avg age of open cases:
This you can acheive by putting the RKF in step 1 and in properties put Calculate result as "Average".
4)Avg age of closed cases:
This you can acheive by putting the RKF in step 2 and in properties put Calculate result as "Average".
5)Max age of closed cases:
Make two formula variable with the type replacement path each and then in the characteristic option which you get when creating the formula variable give the respective dates one for each of them.
For this make a formula and subtract these tow formulas variable. calculation "created on date - closed on date".
