No Disk Error - How do I resolve this...

Every now and then while using itunes or connecting my ipod I get a box popping up saying:
header; iTunes.exe - No disk
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk\DR5.
I try and click cancel or continue and sometimes it resolves itself. How can I get this msg to go away permanently???
I'm not much of a computer guy so hopefully you can spell it out for me!

As long as it is a MacBook Pro labelled DVD analyzing a MacBook Pro, Disk Utility should be fine as far as analyzing basic directory structure issues with the Repair Disk and Verify Disk functions. I say basic, because Alsoft Disk Warrior when it repairs the disk directory is much more thorough in its efforts to construct a brand new directory to replace one which is damaged than Disk Utility or fsck. Regardless of the method used, directory damage can have the same symptoms as a dying hard drive. Even a modern MacBook Pro is not immune from its drive dying quickly. And since repairing the directory is a much more invasive routine than pure data recovery, I only recommend fixing the directory on a machine that has been backed up, or you have at least attempted a data recovery with Prosoft Data Rescue.

Disk error - How do I fix this?

I was running Onyx, and while verifying the HDD, it told me I had an error on the startup disk and needed to run Disk Utility off of the CD to fix it. I ran the utility while in OSX (not the CD) and it says this:

Checking Catalog file.
Checking multi-linked files.
Checking Catalog hierarchy.
Checking Extended Attributes file.

I do not want to mess anything up. I have heard the Disk Utility on the CD/DvD is either old or has problems. SO i just need to know for sure how to fix this.

When I close labview I get a Visual C++ runtime library error, how do I resolve this issue?

I am using Labview 2012 (64 bits) on a Windows 7 OS.
The error code is R6031 - Attempt to initalize the CRT more than once. This indicates a bug in your appilcation.

There are a couple of potential problems here:
- What is the definition of the Struct parameter? The boolean used in the struct may have a different representation than LabVIEW's boolean. Confusingly, on Windows, BOOLEAN is a byte, and BOOL is an int. (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa383751%28v=vs.85%29.aspx) In LabVIEW, a boolean is a byte. If the representations don't match, you'll have problems.
- The "arg4" array parameter contains only a single value. How large should that array be? You need to pre-allocate the array to the correct size (using Initialize Array), or at least set the minimum array size parameter in the Call Library Function Node configuration.
- Check the numeric representation of the "arg4" parameter. You build an array of a 32-bit int, but pass it as a 16-bit array. LabVIEW will coerce to the type specified in the Call Library setup (as indicated by the coercion dot), but it would be a good idea to get the data type right instead.

My iPod won't sync music due to a disk error, how do I fix this?

I just got a new iPod 4G and it won't sync any of my music or apps. I really don't need anything else on my iPod so I have everything else unchecked. I have tried a system restore and to reset all settings but nothing works. I also have tried deleting the Photo cache folder and that didn't help either. I am going on a trip in less then a week and I would really like my iPod to be working for that trip. Please help!! Thank you in advance.

I just got off the phone with senior level support at apple. There are two things she had me do to fix this problem.
1. Uninstall itunes and then re-install version 10.7 from the apple website here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/
2. Then go here: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl837, this will take you to the Quick-time version 7.7.3 for Windows page, download & install this version. You will need to reboot after this install and once you have finished you should have no problems opening Itunes.

It just didn't occur to me to do so.
My intent was to report that there was at least one other user encountering a similar problem. It occurred to me that Adobe might be interested in determining the scale of a problem which causes one of their best known products to fail to run quite so completely after a clean install
I also see that I misreported the OS I'm running - its Windows 8.
If there is further information I can provide which might be helpful in determining a solution, if someone could be specific about what would be helpful, then I will try to respond appropriately.

The X230 has Intel HD 4000 graphics support built in to the processor. Windows was pretty stubborn about refusing driver updates, but I just managed to get drivers from the Intel site to install and Photoshop is now running, so hopefully I need not try your patience any further.
In case anyone else has a similar problem and stumbles on this the way to install the driver that worked was to:
- download the zip version of the generic driver from Intel
- use the 'have disk' option in the windows dialog to install the driver - other paths in the UI did not work with windows refusing to install the driver.

I've had Adobe Acrobat XI Pro for some time, but yesterday it stopped working and I started having an 'Adobe Acrobat has stopped working' error. It then tells me to Close the Program.

Thanks Pat. I was able to resolve the problem.
OS is Windows 7 Pro, Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.07.
I went into the Properties file where I identified that Users only had Read & Execute and Read properties, I changed properties for Everyone to Full Control. That fixed the problem.
I don't know how the properties got changed to just Read & Execute, but there had been an automatic update the night before.

This problem has been driving me demented. The instructions that Ivan gives have partially worked for me. By following his link
"How to find out if you have multiple Apple IDs" I was able to identify that yes I did have two apple accounts using the same e mail address. One was very old that I used to use for the forum boards and one is my much more recent ID that I use for everything these days. So I changed the e mail address for the old account which is associated with these discussion boards and that's the account that I am now posting this from. However even though the two accounts now have different e mail addresses when I try to log onto the boards with my more recent main apple ID I still get all the same errors as described at the start of this thread by rodgers_j. And of course that's the one I want to use so that I only have one itunes account for everything.
So if anyone has any more hints I'd be very grateful.

I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. Repair iTunes Security Permissions
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Securitytab and click Advanced. Use the Change Permissions... button grant to your account (or the Users group) and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to Replace permissions entries... which will repair permissions throughout the library. When complete switch to the General tab, click in the Read-only check box to clear it, then click Apply.
If you don't have the option to change the permissions then use the Owner tab and Edit... button to take ownership from an account with administrator privileges. Tick the option to Replace owner on subcontainers and objects.
Repeat with the media folder if it isn't stored inside the main iTunes folder.
If you've brought over the library from another computer you may also want to remove any "mystery" identities (S<string of dashes & digts>) that have come over from the old computer...

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

Besides not typing in all caps... you probably have Pro Tools installed, the Avid/Digi Core Audio MIDI driver is not compatible with Lion.
It has to be removed... Look in ~/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers
