No distribution certificate option

I am trying to go through the process outlined here http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ppcompdoc/Step_by_step_guide_to_dps_se.pdf
and I am up to page 25 where I am to create a distribution profile.
Unfortunatley my screen as no button for "distribution". This is what I see
Admittedly this is my first time going through this process, am I doing something obvious wrong?

Production Certificate is Distribution certificate. Apple has recently made changes to its dev center and has changed some nomenclature.
The Guide needs an update, maybe Bob can help with that.

  • "Distribution Certificate is not valid" - error downloading the ZIP file from App Builder

    Hello everybody,
I'm trying to download the Distribution App (.ZIP) from App Builder.
    - The App is made with a Professional account
    - The app is a Multi-folio for iPad-iPhone
    - The App has the Push notifications option activated
    - I made a couple of Push Certificates (production + developing), I checked on Apple Keychain and they are valid (green dot)
    - I made a new App ID with Push Notification option enabled
    - I made a couple of mobileprovision files (production + developing) based on the App ID and
    - I download the .IPA and it work
The App Builder report this error: "This is not a valid Apple Distribution Certificate"
    Any ideas?
Is this related to the Pro account and the fact that I made another App for Android?
Has someone the ability to try using the same settings to understand if it is a bug or a real issue?
    Thanks,
    Andrea Spinazzola
Ps.: Obviously, we are on deadline...

    Hi Neil,
as you can imagine reading my list, I already do everything you suggested to me.
So It's not my mistake, I need to know if it is a bug or a known behavior.
When I'm talking about Pro Account and Android App, I mean that a Pro Account is for only one "project" (no more infinite Apps as in the past) and due to a content issue, I had to create two Application Account with two different Adobe ID and emails.
    Is this the cause?
I appreciate every help that could solve my problem but just to let you know, I work on DPS since it start and this is about the fifteenth apps that I did in the last 5 years, so I know exactly how it works.
Have you tried to reproduce my list of thing?
    It works for you?
    Yes?
    No?
I have a problem, i can't generate with DPS App Builder "App distribuzione.zip" to be sent to Apple to publish APP, this is the error message: is not a valid distribution certificate Apple. What do I do?
Same problem, same answers, same unsolved problem.
I made new certificates (it was the first thing I did) and It doesn't work.
    Thanks.

  • Cannot create p12 certificate using existing distribution certificate

    Hi,
I published apps before using my employers apple developer account which is pretty straight forward if you follow the directions. I have been asked to create an app for distribution with the apple store using the clients developer account. I need to create the final .zip of the app and pass it to the client who will submit the actual app themselves.
My problem is that I cannot create a p12 certificate to attach to the app in DPS App Builder. The client has three distribution certificates in their account but had third parties create them on their behalf. To my knowledge the best way to handle this would be to revoke the oldest of the three distribution certificates in their apple developer account and create a new one that is linked to my machine which would allow me to create all the needed certificates. It seems that 3 distribution certificates is the limit they can have at one time.
    My questions are:
    1. Is my solution the right one?
    2. If so, would revoking a distribution certificate cause problems for any of their other apps that are published or in progress?
The only other option I could see was for the creator of one of the distribution certificates to create a p12 certificate which I would attach to the app in DPS App Builder.
Any help, advice or pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I have never had a problem publishing while following the directions so this is a new issue for me.
    Regards,
    C

If you have access to your clients Apple dev account, you can create certs on your machine but if they have existing certs in their account, might be confusing and don't want to mess with their existing certs.
Would advise to ask your client to create and pass you the certs, create the app with their certs and pass them back the zip for them to upload

  • IPhone Apps Distribution Certificate on Windows XP

    Hi there! total newbie here!
I had an idea for an application which i wanted to be programmed. being a total total newbie i asked someone to make it for me. its coming along nicely and will soon (hopefully) be on the app store.
The thing is, i need to get a app distribution Certificate for the application.
I do not have a mac and was wondering if i can get it some how using my windows computer?
If that is not possible, could it be done by someone using THEIR mac....or is a certificate something which can only be done using my own machine?
    Hope someone can help me.
    Thanks

If you trust your developer, your best bet would be to do all the downloading at that end. Your key and certificate can then be archived for your future use. In any case, you won't be able to use these docs without a development environment on a Mac. No matter where you download them, they need to be installed on a Mac and only an experienced developer should attempt to build the distribution package with them.

  • Create a Distribution Certificate as a p.12 file in Keychain Access not working?

I need to create a Distribution Certificate as a p.12 file. I downloaded my ios_distribution.cer file from iOS Provisioning Portal/Certificates/Distribution/Download but this file will not install on my Keychain Access Certificates. Once installed I need to export as .p12. Why can't I install this .cer file to my keychain access? Thanks

Hi EDUR142, did you find a way round this? If so, please let me know.
I currently can see that these certificates are there in Keychain Access under System'Certificates'.
However in System'Keys' the relevant keys are not there. And in Login'Keys' there are 4 keys that might be the correct ones: 2 public keys, 2 private keys. BUT they do not have an arrow on the left so I cannot see if the correct certificate is associated with them (as it described in the Adobe step by step guide to DPS pg19).
If this is simliar to your issue last year, and you found a solution, pls reply. Thank you.

  • What happens to Apps when the Distribution certificate expires?

Our distribution certificate expires in mid March. Do I have to re-build all the apps that are on the App Store with the new certificate or will they continue to install without issues?
My gut feel is that Apple would not expect developers to re-submit all their apps just because the certificate has expired but like a confirmation from someone since I am sure many have crossed this bridge.
    Thanks in advance.

+>I assume that any new submissions will have to have to be built with a profile which includes a valid certificate.+
    Of course....just follow the money
It is a solid process, but of course Apple, like any business that operates around time-based/recurring fees, wants to get the 'subscriber' to re-up sooner than later.
The countdown in the dev center, etc. we see about our 'expiration' date is meant not only as a friendly reminder concerning whatever risk, it is a prod to get whatever monies out of our pockets and into theirs...sooner than later

  • Distribution certificate expiring 3/12. Distribution profile expiring 9/12.

Our Distribution certificate expires tomorrow but the profile is active till 9/12.
    So my Q is:
    a) If i build something on 3/13 will XCode error out at build time in the CodeSign step?
    b) If i build something on 3/12 and submit to Apple on 3/13 will it accept since the Profile is valid?
I am just trying to figure out if i need to wait until i have a new certificate and a new profile before i build my apps.
    Thanks,
    -TRS

I have not re-newed the certificate so my Q has no relevance now
In any case the answer is that the certificate has to be valid otherwise XCode does not show the profile as selectable. It indicates a disabled information message in the drop-down menu.
Thanks to those who spent their valuable time reading my original post.

As Bern510 says, you'll need to recreate certificates that are valid. I suggest following our step-by-step publishing guide, which walks through how to obtain certificates correctly.

The sound input going to the mic is not going to pipe through the speakers like that.  It doesn't do it because it would cause a feedback loop on itself.  The mic input will take sound and output it to a program or to another pathway (like a VoIP or Facetime call, etc.) but it won't behave like a Karaoke machine if that's what you're thinking.

  • Problems with my Distribution Certificate.

    Hi,
My iPhone app is ready to roll and I can't get this distribution certificate to work. The developer certificate uses my name but the distribution certificate needs to be under my company name. Since that is my account name.
So I requested a certificate from a certificate authority (no cert authorities were selected). I uploaded the file to to developer program portal. I approved the request and downloaded the certificate.
It looks fine. It's name is iPhone Distribution: My Company name and it is issued by Apple worldwide relations blah blah blah.
I then created and downloaded a distribution provisioning profile. By dragging it over iTunes.
Now when I go into the Target info of my app I can only do one of two things. Choose the code signing identity for Any iPhone OS Device to be iPhone Distribution: but with no company name.
Then in the code signing provisioning profile. I can choose the provising profile that I set up.
If I enter the iPhone OS Device to be iPhone Distribution: My Company name then the provisioning profile is no longer selectable. I can enter it manually but I get a build error
CodeSign error: no certificate found in keychain for code signing identity 'iPhone Distribution: My Company Name'
Can someone please help me? It's driving me not so slowly insane.
    Thanks,
    Travis

Yes my provisioning profile is in the directory, and yes the name matches exactly.
Something I read somewhere and what I've tried is leaving the company name off and just entering iPhone Distribution:
From what I can tell it does a search for certificates with these words. Since the only certificate for distribution is my company one then I think it has found it. I did a build and the keychain part appeared to work (it asked if my company wanted to allow access.)
It also has the embedded.mobileplatform file.
Do you think it worked even though I didn't put my company name in there?

  • Distribution certificate error: Approved- Pending- gone?

Provisioning portal won't let me make a Distribution certificate. Followed the instructions to the letter. Certificate appears as Approved. Several minutes later after refreshing the page, it's Pending. Then it's gone, and History shows an Error, no explanation.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this a temporary bug?

  • Distribution Certificate Problem

Hi friends. I wil getting crazy with distribution certificate. I'm using XCode 4.6.2 and MacOS Mountain Lion. I renew my developer program last month. After then I delete all my certificates and provisioning profilies. There are some problems.
    1) Xcode Organizer automatically create Developer Certificate but don't create Distribution certificate. So that I created Distribution Certificate manually from portal.
    2) At Xcode Organizer, it shows old certificates that I revoked before. (in red rectangle)
    3) There is no check sign on Distribution Certificate that manually created on portal. (at bottom)
    4) Also Distribution Certificate don't appear on Keychain Access. I have downloaded Distribution Certificate from portal and tried to add it Keychain Access manually but I can't add it. So that I can't create a distiribution provision.
    5) I can't delete certificates on Organizer manually. They are not selectible.
    * I tried to delete everything from portal and organizer 4-5 times. Everytime I got same problem.
I will be glad to see your answers. Have a nice day.

You cannot "download a certificate" from apple. what you get is the public
key, together with the private key on your machine will result in a
    certificate.
This is really confusing, I know.
Sounds like you did not created the signing request on the machine you are
sitting on (thus you don't have the private key).
You need the private key from the computer where the certificate was
    created first.
OR you can revoke the certificate at apple's site and create a new one from
your machine (then you have the private key ready to be combined with the
public key you will download from apple).
But then you need to give the private key to the person owning the old one.

I just registered for the iOS Developer Program and became an Apple Developer. I tried to create a Distribution Certificate and it said "Access Denied". Can someone help?

    Use Safari/Mac.
Confirm your account has proper (team member?) authority.
    If new account, be patient.

  • Distribution certificate deleted

    Hi,
I had to delete my distribution certificate and make a new one. I am wondering if I will be able to submit updates for apps already on app store. The distribution profiles I have used to submit them are "invalid" now. Will I still be able to submit updates with a different distribution profile?
