no download came but it says thank you for downloading iTunes.

There is some anecdotal evidence that the scripts on the Apple site that are supposed to detect the version of Windows you are running may fail for some users - jumping straight to the "Thank you for downloading ..." page with the installer not having been downloaded.  As an alternative, you can go directly to the relevant downloads - like the previous 12.1.0.77 release, there are three different installers available, with direct links to these as follows:
iTunes 12.1.1.4 (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe
iTunes 12.1.1.4  (64-bit) - itunes6464setup.exe
iTunes 12.1.1.4  (64-bit "for older video cards") - iTunes64Setup.exe
The third of these - which is actually the 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer - should be used if you get a warning about video card incompatibility when you install the standard 64-bit version, but also may resolve issues with playback, QuickTime compatibility, and problems with some third-party applications (including Outlook).
See turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for more details if you're still having problems with installation.

  • In a split-second, says "Thank you for installing iTunes/Quicktime"

I've had iTunes installed w/o issue on my PC (w/ upgrades) for years. Today when I clicked on it, I was told that QuickTime wasn't working (it wasn't; clicking on both it and iTunes gave me an error) so I uninstalled both programs (iTunes and Quicktime) and then proceeded to re-install. On both, there was absolutely NO download process; the screen just went instantly from clicking download to a new screen that said "thanks for downloading (iTubes/Quicktime)... but NEITHER was installed. And now neither is on my machine, nor can I seem to get them to download! How can I get iTunes and Quicktime back onto my machine? HELP please? Thanks!

That might be because the address should be [email protected] -- it's easy to see an extra "o" that isn't there at the begining and add it to the address by mistake -- not a very good address choice in my opinion.
This has been pushed up the internal moderators' chain for action by the appropriate staff. I can't promise it will help, but hopefully somebody will pick up the ball.

  • Thank you for downloading itunes but i cannot find it

I am running windows xp  with Intel Pentium CPU 2.66ghz with well over 400 Mb of memory and the newest of the windows 2 update. I have erased all forms of itunes that I could find on my computer by doing a search. I hit the down load button for windows xp and the screen says thank you for downloading itunes but I do not get a run program or save program and I cannot find I tunes downloaded anywhere. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This happens to me on several Windows PCs.  Some running Win7.  Some running WinXP.
I found that by using Safari, I could successfully download iTunes.  Didn't work on any other browser I tried - only Safari.
Been that way for the past three iTunes updates.  Annoying but I can work around it rather easily.
    Best of Luck

  • Thank you for downloading Safari 4

Well that clears things up. Clearing out all downloaders in Firefox let me copy Skype and other dmgs. But trying to download Safari leads to a page that says “thank you for downloading Safari 4,” but of course nothing was delivered. How do we tell?
Do we search spotlight for a dmg?
Will it load itself and appear in the dock?
    Should we look in applications?

Very, very funny. But, no, you don't have to mount it like a horse. Besides I think it would prove difficult straddling a disc image.
The term is used to mean that the disc image is mounted on your Desktop like an attached external disk drive. A drive icon will appear, and when you double-click on the icon a Finder window will open to display the contents just as it would for any other disk drive appearing on your Desktop. At that point you can deal with the item as you would if it were an a CD or DVD. If there's an installer then the software can be installed by double-clicking on the installer icon. If no installer is needed then simply drag the application to a convenient place on your hard drive, usually the Applications folder.
The convenient way is to let your downloads go to the default folder - /Home/Downloads/. From there you can install the software. If you want to keep the download file you can or you can delete it. This approach obviates the need to search for the disc images or other downloads because they are always in the same folder.
    Hope this helps.
