'NO download for song previews' policy in iOS application?
Let's say I need to create an application where the user needs to play a song (among other things). I will offer him the possibility to play one of the songs from his device or a song from iTunes. I will let user to chose between the free 30 sec. song or the full song to buy and then use it as he intended.
Either way I need to download the song in my app to complete the app purpose (work offline for exemple). There is the possibility that the user needs to play the song only for 30s (or less) in the app so the song previews would be just perfect for that (as it is free).
Apple says you can not download the song previews in the application: http://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/resources/blog/song-previews.html
But is it possible to do so using another Apple service or another way?
The reason I ask, is that I found applications on AppStore that use the song previews from iTunes (but maybe I'm wrong here, and it's not iTunes) and synchronize it with a video (then post it on, let's say Facebook, with no iTunes badge), which is certainly not allowed by Apple as it's seen in the link above.

i downloaded 3 songs to my pc and sync'd my ipod and the songs do not tranfer. is this related to not having the proper itunes version vs ios? I cannot get the songs to sync, but I can move other songs to different playlists and they sync fine...any ideas what's wrong?

I have a couple of steps for you to try in order to get those songs transferred to your iPod touch. First, make sure all of your software is updated with the latest versions. If the songs were downloaded from iTunes, you will also want to delete the songs from your library and then download them again from the list of past purchases on your iTunes account. If you try a sync after those two steps and are still seeing the issue, then I would like you to try syncing the iPod by setting it to manually manage. An article outlining more information on manually managing your iPod sync can be found here:

I just updated to itunes 10.3 & iOS 6.1 and I cannot download a song to my library! I get the error "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can download past purchases on the computer with just one apple ID every 90 days. This computer can be used with a different Apple ID in 75 days." WHAT??
I've never had problems before - my husband and I have used the same library for years. My daughter also has her own Apple ID... are we going to have trouble with that, too? Actually we have 4 Apple IDs - somewhere around 8 Apple devices... this is a huge issue for us... HELPJust to be clear - I just bought a new song and can't download it into the library because of this error message.

Whenever I go to preview a song in itunes, the song with play out for about 10 seconds and then stop. Why isn't the song previews working? How can I fix this? I tried updating my itunes and it didn't work. I use windows 7. Thanks!
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I know it can be frustrating when you are waiting for content to download to your iPhone from the iTunes Store. There are a few steps I would recommend in this situation. Please read over and follow the steps in the attached article.

If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
If you can't complete the download on your iOS device, you can download it in iTunes on your Mac or PC and then sync it to your iOS device. You can also transfer purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer.

Could someone please advise on my current problem? Apparantly I can no longer download tones to my phone or account to be used as such since the tones are being downloaded as songs that cannot be transferred or placed in the tones area for the phone or in iTunes. Prior to the last update, this was always an option. I have also noticed that the Ringtones and Alert Tones are not showing up in my recent purchases as well to allow for me to place them back on my phone and there for require for them to be purchased again... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I've discovered that all tones purchased will be downloaded as ringtones, BUT they can be utilized as tones and assigned as alert tones on the iPhone...

Trying to redeem a free download for a song from KLove. When I get into my acct & try to redeem it, it just keeps bringing up the "sign-in" box. When I click the button on KLove's webpage to redeem it takes me to that page but does the same thing
Get the redeem code from the KLove page:

You will have to sign in to your iTunes account.

I messed up and deleted a few songs by mistake. When I go to the "purchases" option it only lists apps and books that have been downloaded, but music is not an option to see what was downloaded previously. Anyone know how I can re-download the songs ?

I paid for and tried to download a song from itunes but the song won't dowload! When I got to store and click on available downloads it looks like it's downloading but I keep getting a message that the file is corrupt.
I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.) -
I can not download 19 songs that I recently purchased on my laptop. I am getting the message that my Nano is not an authorized device. Even though I have had it for years and it has many songs downloaded from my laptop. I even decided to do the restore and it is still saying that the 19 songs can not be downloaded to my nano. I did recently upgrade my window's 7 version. Maybe this has created the problem.
Yes, the upgrade is the likely cause.
First you should try to deauthorize your computer/iTunes library before attempting to authorize it again. To do this, click the Store drop down menu in iTunes and choose Deauthorize this Computer. Then enter in your iTunes account credentials.
When it has finished, choose Store -> Authorize this Computer and again enter in your Apple ID account credentials.
Finally, try resyncing your Nano to see if that makes a difference.

On iTunes 11, how can I access home sharing if the music is from a CD on a different computer using Home Sharing? Is there any way I can download these songs if (A) I no longer have the CD, or (B) I do not want to pay $25 a year for iTunes Match?
Yes, you can copy songs that you ripped from a CD to your Home Sharing computer.
Turn on Home Sharing first on both computers. To do that, go to File > Home Sharing > Turn on Home Sharing. Enter your Apple ID and password.
Now go to your computer that you want to copy the songs to and connect to your Home Share. You can do that by clicking on the popover button located at the left top corner right below the play control buttons. Click on it and scroll to the bottom until you see your Home Share and select it.
Go to Music in your Home Share. Select the songs that you want to copy in your Home Share and click Import at the bottom right corner. -
I bought songs on my laptop which synced to my iphone and iPad. But I can't find them on itunes library on my home computer. However, when I click download for the same song it says it has already been purchased. How do I find it on home computer?
