No driver for HP PSC 1350 printer in Rendezvous

Hi,
Since updating to OSX 10.3.9, I can't seem to print via Airport Extreme. Printing via the USB port on my PowerBook is fine and when the printer is plugged into the Airport basestation it appears in the Rendezvous printer list but when I try to add it, I get a message saying "Driver Not Installed".
I can't see how I can load a driver when all the printer software is loaded and it works OK from the USB on my PowerBook.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Dave

Having read some of the other postings from people with a similar problem, I've now tried a "hard reset" and uploaded the latest Airport firmware (5.5.1) but this hasn't made any difference - I still get the "Driver not installed" message when trying to add a Rendezvous printer.
Where do I go from here? All this technology at my fingertips and I'm having to resort to plugging my printer into my PowerBook USB port if I want to print anything.
Please help.
Dave.

  • Psc 1350 prints text with shadow in Windows 7

My all in one psc 1350 prints the text with shadow since I upgraded to Windows 7, the buttons do not work, but the rest does, any suggestions about how I can correct the shadow issue?
I tried to upgrade the driver, but with no success

My guess would be this is due to a color cartridge with misdirected nozzles.  Printing from PDF or a web page would print the text as a graphic which would use the color cartridge.  Try the following:  remove the color cartridge and print a page that previously was shadowed.  Does it now print correctly?  If so the issue is the color cartridge and running a cleaning cycle may help.  It is also possible that the color cartridge has failed electrically, causing it to fire nozzles inappropriately.  In this case a new cartridge would be required.

  • Where can I find a 10.5.8 driver for Laserjet 400 m401dne printer?

I'm running OS 10.5.8 on a G5 desktop (tower), and I just bought a LaserJet Pro 400 M401dne and connected it to this Mac with a usb cable. The Mac will print to it using a generic postscript driver automatically chosen by the OS. There is no driver for the LaserJet 400 on the list of drivers available in the OS.
The installer disk for the printer doesn't offer any driver installation for 10.5.8. It just says that the DVD software won't work with this version of the Mac OS.
This printer is capable of doing duplex (double-sided) printing, which is the main reason I bought this printer, but I am not given that option in any of the dialogue boxes for the printer when I hit PRINT. Apparently the generic postscript driver doesn't recognize the duplex printing feature of the printer. As a result I cannot print on both sides of a page.
I went to the HP website and could not find a LaserJet 400 driver for OS 10.5, nor do I see any driver for it on the Apple website. The free Gutenprint driver utility lists many LaserJet models, but not the 400.
Does anyone know where I might find a driver for this LaserJet 400 that will enable it to do double-sided printing in OS 10.5.8?
    Tom

You solved the problem, BDAqua! I downloaded the driver for the LaserJet 500 from the HP website, as you suggested, and I found that it runs my LaserJet 400! And now I have the double-sided printing capability that I wanted. I just now printed out some double-sided pages to prove it.
I never even considered that a driver for a different HP printer might run this one, but it does. It offers options for printing color that this printer does not have, since the HP 400 is only a black-and-white (or grayscale) printer, and the driver thinks it is running a color printer, but I can simply ignore those.
So the HP Color LaserJet 500 driver for OS 10.5.8 is able to run the HP LaserJet 400 monochrome printer. Whodathunk!
Other HP LaserJet 400 owners running 10.5.8 take note!
    Thank-you very much BDAqua!

Just upgraded my MacBookPro to OSX Mountain Lion. Now unable to reinstall Capt.Installer driver for my Canon LBP3010 printer. Same Capt.Installer was used in previous OS.
Got message that the software was not obtained from Apple or trusted source.
Anyone can help solve this issue, do not wish to purcahse new printer, and Apple does not appear to be friendly to me

Apple is still friendly, only became more protective - for your very best. Right-click on the installer, then "Open", and then you get a window offering you the option to run it. That's a ML feature. Again, for your protection.
Independently, and as not only with Apple, a new OS X is sometimes different, and ML is that bit "pickier" with fully compatible software. So, even if your driver ran under Lion, it can be that it won't under ML. In that case please check Canon's website if they have a newer ML-compatible version, If not, also go and blame Canon. It's their responsibility to provide up-to-date drivers, not Apple's.
    Good luck.

I don't believe that Samsung ever made a driver for this model that worked in intel. Unfortunately, I think your printer is just too old. You can read here

  • Need help getting Mac driver for HP PSC 1510 that works on XP networked printer

My goal is to use a Mac OS X 10.5 laptop and use a Windows XP networked printer - an HP PSC 1510. So far I have failed.
I downloaded a driver update 1.1.1 from Mac which has version 4.03 of the HP PSC 1500 series family of drivers. However, the documentation states that it is not one that will work with an IP or XP connected printer. The earlier driver that came with Mac OS X 10.5 documentation also says that it will not work with an IP or XP connected printer. This explained why the Mac versions of the HP software applications could not see my printer. I had also tried using the default Postscript generic option presented when I was setting up the network printer on the Mac. My one graphic page printed as ten or twelve text pages of nonsense characters so that was also a failure.
So I have my shared HP PSC 1510 wired (connected) off my Windows XP desktop and shared on my home network. I really want to be able to print to the HP PSC 1510 from my wireless Mac laptop especially now that I am partially disabled and getting up and to the PC printer is painful.
If anyone knows how to make this work properly, or even an acceptable workaround, I would be ever so grateful.

  • What is the password for hp psc 1350 all in one printer. want to connect to ipad.

i have aan all in one printer psc 1350. i want to connect it to ipad in this manner.
    IPAD to COMPUTER via WIFI
COMPUTER to PRINTER via USB cable
so when i try to connect ipad to printer, it requires some username and password. i dont know what to type in there.
    i am running on a win 7 32 bit

Sorry, but this will not work.  Your printer has to be directly on you network, not tethered to a computer that is on the network.
Since your printer is USB only (not a network-able printer), your only solution is to get a new wireless printer.  Get one that supports AirPrint if you want to print from your iPad.

  • Cannot get my PSC 1350 printer operating anymore from OS 10.6.3

I have been facing quite an unexpected regression over the last couple of days
My kid told me the scanner option of PSC 1350 All-in-One was not working anymore. After some basic testing I arrived to the same conclusion.
I re-installed the printer using the HP installer disk (dated 2005) and could restore the scanner function successfully. Did a Print Test from the HP Director S/W and the test printed successfully. Unfortunately the normal print function from an application (TextEdit, Safari, etc.) regressed and I fail to get it working again until now.
Self-test of the printer is OK. I also repaired permissions with the Disk Utility. But no improvement.
Actually the symptom was when I tried to print, the file falls immediately in the queue list with error. But no error code or anything that could help to follow a track appears, this is why I am now begging some help to Mac wizards
I tried so many different configurations that I pass the historical details. This is driving me mad and this is where I am presently : I uninstalled all HP software and refreshed the printers list. Then I retrieved a PSC 1300 series driver for Mac OX X 10.6 on HP service website with a light of hope that it could finally fix the problem : Inkjet710_6_Print_Mac1.dmg
I ran installation SW and it reported successful installation.
The problem is now that I cannot retrieve any trace of the HP Installer presumably installed and the HP procedure never says clearly in which folder the HP Installer is due to copy.
Could anyone provide me with a clean procedure to :
    1. check where the HP Installer may have been written, as running this HP Installer may hopefully be the end of my problems
    Else
    2. how to cleanse trace of any previous printer installation
    3. how re-install from scratch the PSC 1300 series driver in a way that it prints successfully under Mac OS 10.6.3 other than using the HP Installer above.
Thanks in advance to who may help me to get out of the maze.

Gilou, I would suggest calling HP tech support, as this appears to be a problem with the printer, rather than with Snow Leopard. Good luck!

How do I install driver(s) for hp psc 2400 all in one series ( WIndows 7 laptop)   AND a safe version of wsnmp32.dll -- Without a Disk?    A tech took the driver off my laptop and I now have no printer/scanner.  Help!!

    Hello,
I see that you're having an issue installing the software. I would suggest following this document, which will guide you through several steps on how to resolve the issue.

  • Driver for HP psc 2510 and OSX 10.4.10?

Apple sent an upgrade for my OS 10.4, recommending download, so I did. Subsequently, when I tried to print something from e-mail, a message appeared to the effect that the computer could not recognize the driver. My 2510 HP all in one came up on an add printer box, but command was rejected for driver issue.
After trying everything else, generally cleaned up corrupted files, got everything else humming, and called HP tech support. Seems that my wonderful all in one printer is obsolete and the company has practically disowned it--no updates, parts, advice for this item. When Apple updated the OS 10.4.10, there was no longer interface with HP PSC2510.

Welcome to the discussions forum MrMom.
I think your Mac ought to be running OS X 10.4.11, so check Software Update again. If you're not successful, try this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24901 and select the *Combo Update* for your iMac (PPC or Intel, as appropriate).
HP's software for the PSC 2510 is located here: Select software and drivers.
Click on the link "Software for HP PSC 2500 Series - Mac OS X v10.3 and v10.4 (Universal)". I believe that's what you'll need.
According to HP and my own personal experience, the print drivers for this printer are already built into OS X. You only need the above software to use the scanner and fax features. I have a reference to that effect at home but I'm not there right now, so if you don't meet with success let me know and I'll research this further.
Seems that my wonderful all in one printer is obsolete and the company has practically disowned it--no updates, parts, advice for this item.
HP is not the company it used to be. Their interest in, and support for OS X is extremely limited. As such HP has tied themselves to a dying market. I no longer recommend them.

    Hi KASIVISWALINGAM,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are in need of the drivers and software for your printer.
If you are getting a "System Block" error when attempting to download, this is usually caused by one of two things.  One, check the administration rights and make sure that you are the Administrator on the computer.  Two, make sure that you do not have any firewalls or anti virus protection running when attempting to do the download.
Here is the link for the HP Officejet and PSC Full Feature Software and Driver.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

  • Can't use correct driver for Canon MF4140 USB printer shared by Windows XP

    Hi all,
I have a Canon MF4140 printer connected to my Windows XP desktop machine via USB. The printer is shared and I can see it over the network with my MacBook running OS-X 10.4.
I've downloaded the OS-X version of the printer driver from Canon, but I can't select it when adding the printer in OS-X, so I can't access any of the printer settings. I've selected the generic driver but that doesn't allow me to do double sided or 2-up printing.
Is this because the printer driver does not support network printing, as the printer doesn't have a network interface?

I guess this isn't clear on the iFelix page. To use any of the built-in network printing protocols on OS X, you must either have a postscript printer (postscript printers don't require a driver, just a PPD), or a driver that works with the CUPS system (a CUPS driver). So far, Brother is the only non-postscript printer manufacturer that provides CUPS drivers. For every other non-postscript printer, you need a third-party CUPS driver. Apple tried to get around this issue by including Gimp-Print drivers (open source CUPS drivers), but your model isn't in Gimp-Print. You can look around for other CUPS drivers, but Lexmark hasn't been cooperative with driver writers. Here are the CUPS driver sources:
    http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/
    http://www.easysw.com/printpro/
    http://www.printfab.net/
You may find it easier to share from OS X.

    Hey,
I see you are wanting to install an HP Laserjet 1200 on your Windows 7 64bit PC.  I also see that the downloadable drivers are not working for you.  Have you tried installing the driver located in the Windows Add a Printer: Windows Update section?  For information on how to perform this type of install please read the article linked below.
