No drivers for epson V750 on Mavericks..

Once again Apple didn't speak to other software vendors...  Now my Epson Perferction V750 'Epson Scan' software is screwed.....

According to Epson we are supposed to use the Image Capture app. See these FAQs from the Epson site.

  • Plug in for epson v750 scanner

For PS CS6 what plugin do I need to import into PS from my Epson V750 scanner? Does Adobe provide the plugin?

If the software that came with the Epson doesn't include a plug-in, then there isn't one except for those that other developers have made (VueScan, SilverFast). Adobe doesn't provide them, each scanner maker does.
However, a plug-in isn't the only way to scan into Photoshop. You can scan with the software that came with the V750, and set the software to save scans in a specific folder. You can then simply drag from that folder into Photoshop. I like to have Adobe Bridge pointed at the scan folder so I can see, keyword, and preview any of the scans as they show up, then edit any of them in Photoshop by pressing Enter/Return. Previewing your scan folder with Bridge is also a great first step to fast editing of scans in bulk in Adobe Camera Raw.

  • Drivers for Epson 3800 printer

Hi, I am just beginning to learn how to print and would like to set up my Epson 3800, print from Lightroom, using Leopard. From reading all the issues folks have had, my first question is this: Should I even download the drivers that came with the printer, or do I use the new ones available on the Epson site? I gather paper profiles are included on the CD that came with the printer--would those also be on the download from the Epson site? Having never set up a printer to begin with, any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK ... A difference! In ColorSync Utility, I clicked on Devices, expanded Printers->Epson Stylus Pro 3800->Pro38 PLPP. Then, clicked the drop down for "current profile" associated with this paper, and chose Other and navigated to the Pixel Genius Epson Exhibition Paper profile, because this is the profile I want to use with EFP paper from LR. The driver paper selection is PLPP. Now it's associated with the profile I want to use. If I were to ever want to use PLPP paper, I would have to remember to reverse this in ColorSync I presume. NOW ... I went into LR and proceeded as if I would print using the PG profile from LR. When I went into the driver, I clicked on Preview and low and behold .... NO more green cast!! I can assume the output to the printer would be OK. Whether the PG profile is doing its job from LR, I don't know for sure. It looks from Preview the same as if I had specified Pro38 PLPP in LR. Anyone??
EDIT: I've CONFIRMED it! The ColorSync workaround DOES fix the 3rd party profile problem in LR! I specified Pro38 PLPP as the profile in LR, compared it with the PG Preview and there was a difference, proving that the PG profile was being used to render the print output from LR, now without the color cast.
BINGO! Just printed out the previous problem image, and it printed exactly as shown in Print Preview specifying the PG profile in LR for Epson EFP (which says to use PLPP in the driver, but that paper is now associated with the PG profile via the ColorSync Utility). At least there's a workaround fix to the the color shift problem printing from LR!
TIP: As learned from Jeff Schewe in his Camera to Print tutorial, remember to set Print Sharpening to High in LR to achieve printer output sharpening.

  • App for Epson V750 Pro

I recently installed Mavericks OSx on my iMac; I am now unable to use my Epson750 scanner and apparently need a new app. I have to do this urgently. I don't expect to have to pay for it either.
Also:  having previously setup connection to my HPdesktop printer it now does not print.

Have you visited those maker's web support for possible recent Driver updates? Also, there may be other drivers in the upgrade to Mac OS X 10.9.x.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Drivers for epson printer FX286e

I have an older dot matrix printer that was connected to my old windows computer. It print thing like a tax return that has a lot of pages. I got a USB to parallel converter cable so I could it to the Mac and print low quality pages. Howerver Epson says Mac is the reason it will not print and Apple wants me to pay for support since my one year extended contract is done

By switching from Parallel to USB, you're going to lose a lot of direct control over the printer - it would surprise me if this would actually work.  But the thing you'll need to research is how to control and drive the printer through the CUPS printing subsystem in OSX.  But you're hiding the real FX-286e behind the USB adapter... so again, I'm not really sure how that would work.

  • Lion update kills scanner drivers for Epson Perfection 1250

Lion Mac OS 10.7  was supposed to have a driver to use my scanner.. but I get no interface and no way to connect and use my scanner..
    Anyone else have any luck?
I connected my scanner via USB, and then ran Software Update and it installed something..
When I open my System Preferences/Printer and Scanner  I do see a driver..  when I try to connect I just get something loading and I get a blank screen.

What do you mean that you have no interface? Can you open System Preferences > Print & Scan, then select your scanner, and then open the scanner from there? Is there where you are getting a blank screen?
If you do, I would remove the scanner from Print & Scan, use the uninstaller from Epson, which you can get from here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid= 14550&prodoid=6464129&infoType=Downloads&platform=Macintosh
Then, install the scanner again. Updates can be complicated, and perhaps you were using previously some PPC code through Rosetta (which Lion doesn't support.) Re-installing should install Intel64 code, which seems to exist for your scanner according to the page above.

  • Can't update drivers for Epson Perfection 3170 Photo

My 3rd-Party scanner software (Vuescan) says "no drivers available".  Epson's website says that the new drivers are ONLY available through Software Update.  Software Update says "no updates available".  Now I can't use the scanner ("Epson Scan" software won't run under 10.9).
Epson could've simplified matters by simply letting us download the drivers directly from their website, but apparently no-go.  Has anyone found a way around this problem?

Try using the Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
Connect the scanner to your Mac whether Wi-Fi or USB.
    Launch Image Capture.
Click the very small black box bottom left side of the Image Capture window.
You'll see this pop up menu:   Connecting this (device) opens:
You can select a default app to scan (Image Capture) and select a folder from the Imort To pop up menu on the right to save scanned files to.

  • Problem with Epson WF600 and Mavericks printing

My Epson WF600 no longer is recognized wirelessly, by my Macbook Pro, when I go to Add Printers in my System Preferences. I installed the new Drivers for Epson (I think), but unless I connect the printer with a USB cable, my laptop wont print wirelessly from the Epson. Please help.

Try resetting the router (power off 15 secs, then back on), then reset the printer same way.
    Also reset Printing System:
OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system
How did you install new drivers?
The new driver paradigm for OS X is: manufacturers give Apple the current drivers to keep on their servers. It gets installed automatically when we add the printer in Print & Scan prefs. You can force OS X to re-find both installed and available drivers by resetting the printing system.
Find current version of drivers from this:

Well, I have this printer too, and I get the following response from the System Prefs Printers and Scanners when I select to add this printer:

When you go to the Epson website for this particular printer it says:
"The latest drivers for this product are available only via Apple's Software Update."
And finally, when you go to Software Update it says: "No updates available"
    I second OMT8.
Yes, the driver file at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398 allowed me to finally install my printer, but does Apple have _any idea_ how long it takes to download a 1.08GB file over a 1.5mbps DSL connection?
Never mind how much of my pricey new SSD is being consumed by the resulting 1.80GB of driver files all for _one_ printer driver that should maybe occupy 200K?
Or that the primary article on OS X printer drivers (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669) -- which does indicate that the Artisan 830 is supported -- does not mention or link to the driver file that's needed to make it work?
Or what a complete violation of Apple's "it just works" gestalt it is to be confronted with the above Catch-22 and to have to search the web and then go through all of the above to make a new laptop talk to a two-year-old printer?
Yes, my printer now works, and yes, Apple's Support Communities were instrumental in getting to this point. But spending all morning (plus download time) getting a printer driver installed tastes way too much like I paid for Apple and got Microsquish.

  • SCANNER UPDATES FOR EPSON v500 not available for maverick?

OK - I updated to MAverick and have no scanner.  You know, the little white circle with the line through it, indicating that the woftware and drivers will not work on Maverick.  So, I went to Epson (I have Epson perfection v500 photo scanner), and they direct me to Apple Software Update at Apple Store.  The Apple Store has no update for the epson.  And, in an article, says that third party software need be gotten from the maker.  so, how do I update.  anyone know?  Since apple insists that all updates go through apple store, they should be up to date on everything as they try to corner this market.  a little upset.
    Thanks for any help.

    The message
"An OS X 10.9 compatible Scanner Driver and EPSON Scan Utility for this model is not yet available but is coming soon. Please check back for availability."
Has actually been removed from the Epson sites.
Only the old drivers and the ICA Scanner driver (very limited and thus with poor performance) remained.
I think Epson is only interested in selling new stuff (look at the questionnaire they ask you to fill in when you visit their sites).
But the question remains: what to do with my precious EPSON PERFECTION V700 PHOTO scanner?
Buy a cheap WINDOWS machine and tranfer the results to my iMAC?
Weird, but in the given circumstances maybe the only workable fast solution with guaranteed results.

  • How can I install gutenprint drivers for my Epson Stylus Color 440?

    Good day all!
I have and old and useful printer -Epson Stylus Color 440- and just bougth a cable for connecting it to USB port. Add a new print on its Print and Scan Preference Panel and it was recognized inmediatly, but I was told there was not any driver to that printer.
Tried to set "Epson Stylus Color Series" on its driver but when I went to print, printer seemed to work but does not eject any ink. It seemed as if I were ran out of ink; its car moved over the places occupied by the photo and sounded as normal printing, but not a drop of ink. I checked on an older windows pc, and ink is full, printed normally. I also looked for its drivers on Epson pages, but it seems there are only available for previos Mac OSs, not for X.
A son told me that in his Snow Leopard MacBook White there's a dirver called "Epson Stylus Color 440 gutenprint" on his Print and Scan Driver Menu; haven't tried to print from his MacBook yet, and as I searched, those are open drivers.
I wonder if I can download and install that "Epson Stylus Color 440 gutenprint" from the web, of if there's a way to copy it from my son's Macbook, when he comes and check.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I recently purchased MacBook Pro and upgraded the OS to Mavericks. I am unable to find drivers for my HP Color Laserjer CP1215 printer and HP Scanjet G2410 scanner which I was using with HP Laptop. Google search yielded instructions at http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/INSTALL.osx for the HP CP1215 printer. However, the instructions don't seem to be working on Mavericks. So, I am stuck with a printer and scanner which don't work with Mac. Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't see either of those models on http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669. You should probably check with HP to see if they are still supported.

  • Epson 3170 scanner drivers for Yosemite?

    Hello
I tried to find my epson scanner 3170 driver in mac APP store as is suggested in epson web page:
    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=25021&infoType=Down loads
But nothing from epson appears in my updates...
Anyone knows how to get the driver for epson scanner 3170 for Yosemite?
    thank you

The OS doesn't download scanner "drivers." If the scanner is ICA compliant, you can scan with Image Capture. If it is not, or you wan to use Epson's (or anyone else's) software, you have to download it from them.
There is an ICA driver installed for the Epson Perfection 3170 as noted here: OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download - Apple Support
