No DVI Output signal from PC

Hi, recently i bought and HP P2-1394 model PC, first i was using it with a "normal" monitor, VGA PC input without problems, but last week i bought a new TV with HDMI input the problem is that i can;t configure it well,
I'm using DVI-HDMI cable.
First, i can't get video signal if the old monitor is not connected, once i get the signal, i disable the old monitor from vga configurations, after restart i can't get signal again. so i need to connect old monitor again and restart PC.
I only want on my desk the new one, not both. Do you know how can i solve this.?

Hi,
Review this posted document for the HP p21394.
The specifications for the HP p2-1394 do not indicate that the integrated video processor will support dual video outputs at the sametime.  This may well be a documentation oversight or dual monitors are not going work at the sametime.

  • Generating 1mv output signal from AO1 using NI 9381 card

    Hi,
I am using NI 9074 cRIO & NI 9381 IO card, I am trying to generate 1mv signal from the AI port.
    1. Programatically i am supplying 1mv to AO port and reading AI port.
    2. On the AI port i am getting 22mv without connecting AO port to it .
    3. Is there any method to achieve this task.
Please help me in this.Thank you.

According to the specifications the offset error can be as large as 16 mV depending on calibration and temperature.
Devices with input multiplexers can experience an effect called ghosting which results from capacitances in the input circuitry charging to unknown voltages due to leakage currents from adjacent channel inputs or other internal circuit nodes. Measurements made with the input open or floating do not have any meaning. The manual recommends input source impedances less than 1000 ohms.
As has already been mentioned the resolution is larger than 1 mV. When you combine the offset and gain errors of both the AO and AI channels, in the best case you will not know the output within 11.5 mV and in the worst case the error could be greater than 66 mV.
If you need both 1 mV resolution and 1 mV accuracy, you will need a better device.

  • Output signal from an array of excel to servotube

    Hi All,
I'm doing a test that the input of the test should be an excel files of 2D array (for example, we can have 1000 point sinusoid here). I want to get analog output from this 2D array and send it to a servotube. The problem is how I can send this sinusoid analog output to the servotube. Two files are attached here, the post-filter and sensor test with servotube. The array analog output comes from the post-filter. What I wanna do is to send this analog output to the servotube which shows in the case of Another VI.
    I appreciate everyone's help.
    Thank you very much.

  • How do I get an analog output signal from my PCI-MIO-16E-4 card?

I need an analog output from 0-10 V to control the mass range on a mass spectrometer. Do I use the DAC0out channel to do this? The manual only talks about analog out (ao) channels. Is this the same as DAC0out and DAC1out? How do I set up the DAQ assistant for this process? I do not need a waveform, only a constant signal.

Yes indeeded. The DAC0out and DAC1out are the analog output channels (ao0 and ao1).
Simply follow the examples that ship with LabVIEW. You can also easily create code with DAQ assistant.

  • Output Signal From a Desktop Flash application to the COM port

How do I script to connect /send a signal to the COM port of
the PC from a Desktop Flash application.
The Signals can be variables such as "1/2/3/4" . The signals
will be send on a corresponding click in the flash application. For
eg: if I click button "A" in the Flash application, it sends a
signal "1" to the COM Port. If I click the Button"B", it send the
    signal"2" to the COM Port.
Please advise if it can be done directly or through a Third
    Party software.

  • Proper Video output signal from FCPX for Color correction

I have bene color grading/correcting on my Macbook Pro, but I recently found out (should have known better) that the colors are not very accurate or even universal so I am really correcting colors in the dark.
I want to get a proper device that I can get a REAL UNIVERSAL VIDEO SIGNAL out form my macbook pro to a monitor.  Right now it is a computer signal.
I heard of the Matrox box, but I am not sure how it works.
Really looking for something inexpensive to do some basic correct color grading.
Anyone can help me steer in the right direction?
Do I need a new seperate monitor, or justa  device to get the correct video signal?
    Thanks

  • Changine the output signal on a pressure transucer

Im trying to change a pressure transducer's Output signal from 0-5V to 0-10V. Where would I find this setting under Measurement and Automation Explorer?

You can't change the range of your pressure transducer from within MAX.  That is set by whoever manufactured the pressure transducer.  If you want to change the input range of the compact Fieldpoint module that it is connected to, you can do that within MAX.  What analog fieldpoint module are you using?
Browse to the specific module you want to change within MAX.  Right click and pick Go to Device configuration.  Pick the Channel configuration tab.  There you will be able to set the input range for each channel.

  • How to output the digital clock and synchronization signal from the NI USB-6211

    Hello,
I need to connect the NI USB-6211 to control a digital to analog convertor chip (AD5541). However, this chip requires three input signals :1) Clock input, 2) Logic input or a synchronization signal  and 3) Signal Serial Data input (CS, SCLK, DIN).
how to output the digital clock and the synchronization signal from the NI USB-6211?

    Hi SaberSaber,
You should be able to use the counters to generate a pulse train that could be used for clock and synch purposes.
Hope this helps.  Let us know if you have more questions.

  • How to get signal from analog input and send it to analog output (real-time)

    Hi everyone,
I am doing simple task in Visual C++ and I am using PCI-6221(37 pin).
Basically, I want to send same signal from 'analog input' to 'analog output'
at the same time (almost), to make it real-time application.
Can someone please provide me sample program.
I would appreciate if you could provide me with the good tutorial which explains

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

This is my code in C++, you can optimize it if it looks too messy. This code reads signal from analog input and outputs it through analog output.
To make this code work additional  include directories and library directories must be added from NI.
    I hope it helps someone.

  • How to create 2 output signal locked in phase from a one input signal

    Hi all,
I have a case in which I want read in a signal analog input (voltage) from a photodiode, I want to create a 2 sinewave signal locked in with same phase as the input signal and output them as analog output to my 2 laser diode. the frequency of the input signal is low aroud 15 Hz , the 2 output signal i want to be  around 120 hz and 150 hz .
I am using USB - 6003 daq card.
I have created a vi to see the input signal but I dnt know how to create 2 signal from the waveform generator locked in the phase as the input signal. I have seen a PLL vi , but dont know how to use that with my program.
can any one tell me how to proceed.
    thanks

    Hi AnkitG,
Here are a couple of links that might help you understand a little more how the PLL work and a way to synchronize the task to perform a PLL.

Also, you should be able to find a lot of examples on how to accomplish the synchronization of tasks on the community, if you consider that the only consideration is that both must start at the same moment.
I hope, these examples might show you some useful concepts:

  • TTL signals from motor outputs

I'm currently using a stepper motor with a MID-7604 drive and a PCI-7344 controller. I would like to output TTL signals from the drive at certain motor positions, but do not have an encoder (which is required for breakpoint signals). Is it possible to `construct' a TTL type signal using the low-level motion functions in LabView, and then output them through a motor axis that is not currently being used?

    Hello,
Depending on the type of output that you want to generate (single pulse or pulse train) you could use the Digital IO port of the motion controller with the Set IO Port MOMO.flx function to toggle DIO lines or you could use the Configure PWM Output.flx function to generate a pulse train.  The downside is that this will be software timed based on the current position as determined by the controller.
There is not any way to manually modify the motion control signals that are generated by the controller.  That is all handled by the FPGA of the controller.

  • How to change HDMI port settings from output to input to accept signals from cable/satellite box?

I have a new dv8t Entertainment PC with the HP Integrated HDTVHybrid Tuner.  The instruction manual provides 2 ways to connect the laptop to a cable/satellite box:  (1) coax/rf; or (2) HDMI.  The coax is a no-brainer; got it up and running in 10 minutes.  However, I am unable to get it to work connecting the HDMI cable, as the HDMI port on the laptop appears to be stuck in output mode.  How do I change the configuration of the HDMI port to "input" so that it can accept signals from my cable box?

Thank you Grant for the quick response. Well, it seems I don't know what I'm doing.
So, Mac Pro doesn't have any video INPUTS just Outputs. CHECK.
That is correct I have a six-input-port-selector with one input (SWITCH C2G). CHECK.
What I want is to be able to toggle through the inputs from the HDMI Switch C2G. That way I can use all my devices (Mac Pro, Xbox, PS3, Cable Box) with these monitors.
Since the Switch C2G only has one OUTPUT Slot, I'm thinking I just need to connect the monitors to the Switch C2G Output slot by using a 2 to 1 HDMI Adapter, but wouldn't I lose the true potential of these monitors by not connecting them directly to the Mac Pro?
Currently, I have the monitors hooked up with Thunderbolt/Mini Display Adapters to the Mac. So I guess I would just have to run just one HDMI with Thunderbolt/Mini Display from the Mac to the Switch C2G, and connect the other devices to the Switch as well.
    Jeez. Am I right?
What If I get an HDMI Switch with 2 Outputs instead of getting the 2 to 1 HDMI Adapter or perhaps a 4 to 2 Adapter. Heck. I'm not sure what to do here.
I would really appreciate anyones help.
    Thank you.

  • Lenovo K1 1304 Tablet - Micro HDMI to DVI No Signal

    Hi,
I'm having a problem here. I want to connect my Lenovo K1 tablet to a TV or monitor with DVI input using HDMI cable and HDMI to DVI Adapter. This should work perfectly fine since both hdmi and dvi are backwards compatible with each other and I've succesfully connected a different tablet like that before, yet I get no signal when trying to output a video from Lenovo K1 Tablet.
Micro HDMI output port on my K1 works fine since I can output signal to HDMI input on my TV but not to DVI input using HDMI to DVD Adapter and like I said this should work just fine.
    Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks.

It doubt the adapter has to be HDCP "compliant", because it should just provide a mapping of pins/wires from HDMI to DVI, so any handshaking would occur between the endpoints (tablet and display device).  In case it helps, here's the pin mapping:
    http://pinouts.ru/VideoCables/hdmi_dvi_cable_pinout.shtml
There are some different flavors of DVI, such as DVI-D versus DVI-I, with single or dual links - is it possible that there is a mismatch between adapter, cable, and device?

  • HDMI to DVI No Signal Detected

I have a late 2006 MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.6. I recently purchased an LG LED-LCD television as well as a HDMI to DVI adaptor cable, both from Amazon (the cable is an Amazon Basics cable). When plugged in to both the laptop and the television, there is no signal detected by the television and no display detected by the laptop. I've tried each of the three HDMI ports on the television, but to no avail. I returned the cable and exchanged it for an identical one, but the problem persists.
In searching through the forums, I've seen that quite a few people have had issues with this same setup, and I'm wondering if somehow I need more than just the cable to connect to my television (which doesn't make sense, but could still be the case). I've run a diagnostic on my laptop during startup, and found no issues with the hardware, so I'm 99% positive that I don't have a bum DVI port. At this point I'm just not sure what to do to get this to work, so any assistance would be wonderful.

Sorry for any confusion, my last post was sent before reading your second post.
The VGA test proves nothing about the DVI output. The DVI ports on these Macbook Pros is a combo DVI and analog VGA port (DVI-A). The DVI-VGA adapter does nothing more than connect the VGA to VGA, and does not convert the DVI to VGA. You have to use an actual DVI device to test the DVI. The 4 pins and large blade on the end of the DVI connector are the VGA pins - they can be omitted on a DVI-HDMI adapter with no harm.
I really don't know if there could be a problem with the software on the Mac and/or TV, and the cable just fine.
Perhaps try to seek out someone who has a working DVI-HDMI cable to try? Or try a store that will demonstrate that it works and has a money back guarantee?

  • IBook DVI output

I'm trying to connect my iBook G4 12" to a DVI monitor. I'm using the VGA adapter that came with my laptop and a DVI cable that came with my monitor and both work for other applications. I am also using a small $20 VGA-to-DVI adapter. It is either this, the monitor, or the laptop that is causing the problem. The two other cables are functional. Is there something I need to do on my laptop to signal that it is hooked up to a DVI monitor? I have connected a PowerBook through the same port minus the VGA-to-DVI converter and it also did not work; however the same set up, DVI adapter and cord, worked with the PowerBook on another DVI monitor and a television. Is the convertor insufficient or should I look more into supprt from my monitor's manufacturer?
    iBook G4 12-inch   Mac OS X (10.4.1)

The iBook does NOT have DVI output.
The iBook G4 has a mini-VGA connector on the back.
    I am also using a small $20 VGA-to-DVI adapter.
That device is for converting a DVI output to a VGA monitor. It does not work in the opposite direction.
The devices that convert VGA to DVI are active devices and the ones I have seen are several hundreds of US dollars.
