No e-mail recipient

I'm using an iPhone 5S software 8.0.2
I've noticed a recent issue when sending an e-mail using the standard Apple mail app.
I've entered my recipient (I'm noticing it when using a previous/stored recipient), then typed my email and clicked send. All seems to go fine however I later noticed that the e-mail is sat in my outbox saying "No recipient" asif I never added anyone to begin with.
Is there something I am doing wrong - has anyone else noticed this?

Hi AT1209,
If the Apple Mail application on your iPhone is not preserving the recipients on your email as it goes to the Outbox, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Specifically -
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap the affected email account.
Tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.

[SOLVED] XFCE + Thunar: "Send to" mail recipient doesn't work

Hi all,
I'm not able to use the "Send to" -> "Mail recipient" Thunar's feature. Right-clicking on a file (or a group of files) and selecting the option, the following error is returned:
Failed to execute default Mail Reader. Input/output error.
I use Thunderbird as e-mail client (correctly configured into the "Preferred applications"), but the same happens with Sylpheed too, so I think this isn't an application-related issue.
Any hints?

It's not very clear to me if this is an Arch or Thunar or Exo bug, anyway installing 'perl-uri' works for me.

Mail created with "Send to Mail Recipient" disappear and are not sent

I have a small setup with a SBS 2011 server (Exchange 2010) 10 users with Windows 8.1 and Outlook 2013.
One user is trying to send mails with attachments to his college´s
but they are never send, are not shown in sent items and can not be found on the server.
The user right click on a PDF file and press "Send to Mail Recipient" Outlook opens his mail is entered into the receiver (internal receiver) and press send. The mail do not show up and as mentioned even in sent items.
I then try to do the same but send through the address book in Outlook / Exchange and these messages appears as they should.
One week later, the disappeared mails suddenly appears in the college’s mailboxes and it turns out there are some mails to external addresses as well, which were not sent until a week. All messages are now in sent mail but they have not
appeared anywhere else before.
I did some tests with the "send to" function which also had the mails disappearing - those mails has not turned up until now. (a week ago)
Now the user (AND all colleagues) are very nervous that something is wrong with their system and the mail does not arrive.
It is only 1 user this has affected but he is responsible for the majority of sales in this company and they are very afraid that they are not responding correctly to large customers.
Is there anyone who can help with debugging in such a case?
I have tried repairing Outlook, started in safe mode, checked the mail server for hanging mails but nothing shows any errors.

Hi,
Have the user logon OWA and send the attachment, will this issue persist?
Please also confirm if the issue exists when inserting an attachment when composing a new email isntead of using the "Send to Mail Recipient" function.
Since only one user has been affected, use MFCMAPI to find if the message is stuck in the user's mailbox:

Messages stuck in outbox when using "Send to Mail recipient" and outlook is closed

A user who uses RPC over https all the time on his desktop in the office. In general
he has no problem to send/receive emails. But when he tried to send a File through right click - > send to -> Mail recipient , New Email window opens and He changes
the subject and add receipt and send email when outlook is close. The email stuck in outbox.
any idea and how to fix it?

Hi,
As what Roady says, it is an expected behavior. This is because the
“spooler” which is something that manages the MAPI transports is working when Outlook is running. So when you sending messages when Outlook is not running, there is no spooler running, and so nothing is going to send your mail. The next time you launch Outlook,
you will see the mail in the Outbox.

Does anybody have experience with mail recipient validation against LDAP for instance ?

the MTA checks for it's own configuration in the directory pointed by the configutil parameter local.ldaphost and for user/group information in the one pointed by local.ugldaphost if you just made the default installation now both point to the same directory, but if you want your MTA check for user/group infromation against another directory, then you can set it with configutil -o local.ugldaphost <NAME_OF_THE_DIR_HOST>is that what you have in mind?

Right Click- Send To- Mail Recipient has disappeared!

I have Thunderbird v24.6.0 with Windows 7. I used to have the option to right click on a picture choose Send To->Mail Recipient then choose the size of the picture, etc. The Mail Recipient option is no longer available in the Send To menu. I have checked shell:sendto and the MAPIMAIL file is still there and correct, but it doesn't work.
I have added a shortcut to Thunderbird in the Send To folder and I now have this as a right click option, but doing it this way I cannot choose the picture size (which is why I used this process to begin with).
Is there any way to get the original Mail Recipient option back?

That menu is part of the Windows operating system and has nothing to do with Thunderbird.

Have multiple email accounts. How to make one the default account when using Send to Mail Recipient?

We have multiple email accounts. How do I make one of the accounts the default sender address when we Send to a document to Mail Recipient? Or how can I change the order of the email accounts on Thunderbird that they appear?

To change the default account, Tools/Account Settings, select the account in the left pane, then Account Actions/Set as Default.

Send to - Mail recipient does not attach files on new mail

I'm browsing a network share containing some .txt files.
I have full access to this share (in fact I'm the Owner of these .txt files).
If right-click one of these and select "Send to - Mail recipient" Outlook open a new-message window but the .txt file is not attached.
I think that the problem occours only with files over network share because if files are on my local unit i don't have problems.
How can I fix?

Send to - Mail recipient function is deponds on the simple MAPI:

Cannot send mail "recipient rejected because server does not allow relaying"

Just went to Verizon store with new Iphone4. They tried, but didn't help. I can receive my email, but cannot reply or compose and send msgs. The message says, "Cannot send mail. A copy has been place in your Outbox. The recipient xxxxxx was regejected by the server because it does not allow relaying." I tried several different email addresses, including my own Verizon account!

Go into the settings for Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.
Go to the account that's got a problem, and scroll down to "Outgoing Mail Server".
Touch "SMTP" and make sure the primary server is set to the one you are supposed to be using for your account (you mention Verizon, so it should probably be outgoing.verizon.net).
Make sure SSL is off and the server is "ON".
Make sure that your username and password are for your e-mail account are correct.
Click "Done".
I'm guessing that at least one of those things I mentioned are not set properly. The error is telling you "yeah, I'm a mail server, but I don't relay mail for just anyone, I need to know who you are".

Mail Recipient Name Coding in Message

Apologies for not phrasing this properly, but I would like to emulate (on a small scale) the ability of mailing systems to place the recipient's name in the message. For example, Dear /name/, would then place the first name listed in my address book for that recipient on their version of the message, and would do the same for each.
Is this even possible in Mail "stock"?

definitely not possible in Mail "stock". you can make an apple script that would do something along this lines but it won't be able to take an email directly from the "to" field in the message composition window. you'd have to either enter it by hand or select it in Address Book.

iPod 4g - Cannot Send Mail - The recipient was rejected because it does not allow relaying. Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?

Do you have more than one mail account on the iPod? The Mail app usually is set up to use alternate outgoing SMTP serves if the primary (the one associated with the accout you are sending from) is not available. Some providers do not allow sending mail from other the the account associated with that server. It appears that the primary server is not responding and a secondary server is rejecting the messag.
Try resetting the iPOd. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Do other devices send mail from that accout?

E-mail recipient cannot open my Word document

Cannot send a Windows user a Microsoft Word document that is recognized as such. If I use Mail's paperclip icon to attach a Microsoft Word 97-2004 document, and have "Send Windows-Friendly Attachments" checked, the attachment shows up in my Sent mailbox (mouseover) as Mime-type:application/octet-stream, with a generic (blank) icon. Firefox (on the other end) tries to handle it as an application. If I use Mail's paperclip icon to attach a Microsoft Word 97-2004 document, and uncheck "Send Windows-Friendly Attachments", the attachment still shows up in my Sent mailbox (mouseover) as Mime-type:application/octet-stream, but with a Word icon.
If I send an e-mail to myself and catch it through webmail (using Firefox), the attachment shows up as Untyped Binary Data. If I then download the attachment (still in webmail), it arrives on my desktop as a .doc file. After I double-click to open it and it opens in Word, and I then close it, the icon reverts to a generic icon and the next time I double-click, it opens in TextEdit.
The recipient has opened Word documents from me before, though not since I did the latest OS X and MS Office updates.

What kind of e-mail account is this? POP/IMAP/Exchange?
I can't duplicate what you are seeing. I cannot get Word documents to appear as anything other than application/msword.
Really though, the application/msword or application/octet-stream is just a hint. If the recipient's computer understands the file based on the file name's extension, it should open, regardless of what the mouseover type says.

Are you clicking it from mail or have you dragged it to the desktop?
