No EAX in games on PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro

9No EAX in games on PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Proo Hey all!
I am another seriously frustrated Creative customer who spend a lot of money on the most crappy hardware I have ever owned.
I own the PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro and have problems getting EAX in OpenAL games. I think I finally got it to work in Trackmania but in Race Driver GRID I have no effects what so ever. A correct working X-Fi setup with GRID should sound like this.
I have tried almost anything by now - downloaded the latest OpenAL 2. from this forum, copied OpenAL files back and forth, tried daniel_k's latest driver package which gave me BSOD! Please - can someone help?
Rightmark via DirectSound and Alchemy works like a charm by the way - full EAX 4.0 supports etc.

  • HDMI connection through PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series and Nvidia GTX 2951

    Hello,
I want to connect HDMI connection through PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series and Nvidia GTX 295\but i cant tell which of the pins on the Audio Card is the Spdif.

CRe: Mic not working (PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series)? Hello,
    Thanks for the reply.
The headset is connected via the 3.5mm jacks in the card.
I believe I have it working now. I ended up having to unstall the drivers and software, reboot, install drivers and software and then mess with the settings. The only issues that I am having now is that I hear a a really high sort of feedback/hiss tone from the headphones now. To correct this I have to turn the input for the microphone down really low within the Windows 7 controls for the microphone and turn it up with Ventrilo to get the mic to work and remove the feedback/hiss.
I believe that the issue stems from the flexjack setting. The whole flexjack thing really seems to mess with the microphone settings. I believe I choose line-in instead of microphone.
Once I get home tonight from work, I will hopefully post the exact settings I came up with to get the mic to work.

  • PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty - headphon

I finally opted out of the onboard RealTek for my HTPC after installing Surround Sound this weekend.
The card recommended is the PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series. Now that I've got it installed I am trying to determine if it is broken or the configuration is just whacked.
No matter what I do and how things are setup the Automatic Headphone Detection does not work and neither does the auto muting on connect of the headphones. I've tried three different headsets and all have the same result.
I should mention that the Line Out does dri've the headphones but the SPDIF Optical out is still on so both my receiver and headphones are on at the same time. For now I've been manually putting my receiver on Mute which is doable but I'd like to know if my card needs to be returned.
I also connected the Front Panel Azalia connector for my PC's front panel /8th jacks - these worked for my RealTek but do not work at all for the PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series board. Any thoughts?

Although I could go with the champion series I originally purchased with the impression from the marketing materials the Titanium Fatalty would serve my needs - adding more hardware at a gerater cost isn't favorable particularly since this is outfitting a HTPC chasis where I already have a front panel audio breakout that is stylish.
I guess if I kept the board I could try and figure out the pinouts the I/O dri've uses for its headphones and rewire my HTPC chassis' frontpanel headphone jack.

  • PCIe SB X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series - Crackling (when quad-SLI enabl

    Hey Everyone
I just bought this card to upgrade from onboard but I'm having issues with crackling. It happens mostly when mousing over anything that reacts to the mouse pointer or graphically in any way. For example scrolling down a website causes major crackling and popping and it only happens when quad-SLI is enabled.
I have 2x 9800 GX2 running in SLI on an EVGA 790i Ultra SLI motherboard Vista 64 with 4GB DDR3 RAM both graphic cards and the sound card are running on IRQ 6
It's extremely annoying and it doesn't happen when the computer is just sitting there but as soon as stuff starts happening like videogames/videos/websites etc crackling can be heard.
I've updated to 2.7.5 and the problem is still there, motherboard BIOS, NForce drivers and video drivers are all up to date as well.
Is there any solution to this?

Yeah, I have this same problem also... I have 2 9800GX2 quad sli and when it's enabled i get crackling popping and then sometimes the sound cuts out!! Only with quad sli enabled..... I also have the 790i ultra and 4gb of ddr3@700mhz..... I believe that this is related to the graphics cards and the sound card sharing IRQ 6 which also happens to me. It gives all cards on the pci-express lanes the same IRQ 6!!! The reason it doesn't happen with onboard sound is because it gives the onboard irq 22. If someone could find a way within the bios to be able to change this or if this can be changed in a future driver update it would be great!! In the 790i bios it assigns the graphics cards and soun IRQ while onboard is IRQ 0! You can't assign an irq in the bios either! Only options are PCI or reserved!!!

  • Reverse audio channels (PCI express X-Fi titanium)

2Reverse audio channels (PCI express X-Fi titanium)& Hi,
Today I bought an X-Fi titanium *hoping* it would have the option in the drivers to reverse my left channel to right channel and vice versa.
I have gone through a lot of trouble trying to achieve this and would definitely appreciate the help in finding a solution.
Why do I need this? When playing games I hear everything reversed *IN MY HEAD*. If I hear something left... it's actually on the right. Thats why I have to either reverse my speakers or wear my headphones backwards. BUT... I have a 00$ headset that doesnt allow me to reverse my headset because it only wears one way.
My game doesnt allow me to reverse the stereo. Does the creative X-Fi software/driver allow this in *any* way?
    I appreciate the help!

VLC media player can reverse than stereo chanels for music and movies but i don't know of a way to apply it to games. [email protected]

  • How to get WHAT U HEAR option for PCI Express X-Fi Titanium sound card and Windows 7

how to get WHAT U HEAR option for PCI Express X-Fi Titanium sound card and Windows 7 ? Is it on the basic driver? or do you have to install some other software?
    jane

You have to install the rest of the software(s) for the sound card. The software is (if it is with the installation CD, though) called "Creative Smart Recorder" or something like that.

  • Ok, so now I need a new eSATA PCI Express Card for my Mac Pro

I have a Seagate eSata External Drive which comes with an eSATA PCI card.
The http://www.cwol.com/serial-ata/esata-pci-express-1-ext-1-int.htm site recommends this card: eSATA PCI Express Card - 1 eSATA II and 1 Internal SATA II Port, but it doesn't specify whether it works on a Mac Pro - any suggestions?
Mac Pro Quad Core 2.66   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi
I think the Radeon 9800 is certainly the most powerful graphics card you could buy for your G4 and would do everything you need.
Just be aware there are at least 3 different Mac versions though.
There's a G5 version, the Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Special Edition, which is 8X AGP and has 256MB VRAM.
There's an older Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition, which is 2X/4X AGP and has 128MB VRAM.
Finally there's a newer Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition, which is 2X/4X AGP and has 256MB VRAM.
So long as you get one of the 2X/4X AGP versions, either with 128MB or 256MB VRAM, it should work fine.
It's perhaps also worthwhile mentioning they do require a separate internal power connection, although this can be taken from a hard drive molex power connector. Also they have a cooling fan which can be noisy.
    I hope this helps.

  • X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro PCI-Express + Striker II Formula

Hi, My First Post here at the Creative Forum - Hello Everyone. As usual the first post is a problem post. I have a [now rather dated - although it is under a year old !!] striker II Formula system with 2x 8800 GTX graphics cards. I upgraded the sound card which came with my motherboard with the X-Fi Titanium PCI express card. However because of
    . The NB heatsink
    2. The SLI configuration
I cannot see how this motherboard can actually accommodate the sound card. Any information how I can resolve this rather basic issue would be most appreciated [pictures would be nice]
    Regards
    Paul

The Titanium works fine in my x slot (using two video cards in my remainining 2 x6 slots.)?
So maybe it is a motherboard issue?
Do you still see the BSODs with just one video card and the sound card in the x slot?
Can you boot fine with the two video cards and no sound card?
When you say it destroys your display drivers, what do you mean, exactly?

  • Titanium Fatal1ty Pro SPDIF game problem

(Titanium Fatalty Pro SPDIF game problem hi all,
sorry if this issue reported in the past i but i could not get any answer on any relati've posts, the terminology was so complicated
i buy?a new pc with a Titanium Fatalty Pro sound card, i use Vista sp2 x64, the sound card is connected to my external amplifier with SPDIF out in order to get surround sound for my movies and my games and here is my problem
any movies format with surround sound play perfect with out any problem any kind of movie DVD, dvix, mkv?files?etc
but non of the games i play?use the surround system, why is that? is any?kind of special settings needed to be done? how is possible to get surround to movies and not to the games?
thanks you all for your time ?

,Re: Titanium Fatalty Pro SPDIF game problem? this is really coincidence - I just posted on the very same topic 5 minutes ago.
for games just go to the Console Entertainment mode > Encoder > Dolby Digital. Although this is not documented I believe what happens is that the sound card encodes the 6 digital channels onto Dolby Digital mode and transfers this over SPDIF. Kok-Choy actually recommend using the standard analogue cables (and he has a point as you are actually upcoding an existing game signal onto Dolby so that your digital receiver can then decode this down to 6 channels - seems a pretty useless overhead)
for video - I am curious to know what you do - I can either get 96/24 bits on the display of my z5500 with a direct signal but the z5500 receiver then tells me that this signal is only in dolby ProLogic II (and not DD or DTS). As alternati've I use again the encoder and have to select for EACH FILM WHAT IS BEST DOLBY DIGITAL OR DTS. Pls explain what settings you use.
    thanks

  • Trying to use 3 PCI express cards on P6N Diamond

On the diamond I have 4 PCI express slots.  I use a dual monitor setup and currently have 2 nvidia 6800XT video cards that I use for them.  It works fine if these are the only two cards installed, but I wanted to use the cards in SLI mode for my main monitor and use a spare nvidia 6600LT card for my second monitor.  I read that the chipset supports PCIx16x16x8.
I leave the 6800XTs in the white slots and i try putting the 6600LT in either yellow slot.  When I boot up, I get no video until i remove the 3rd card.  Is there a bios setting I am overlooking or something?  I cannot find any documentation on the 3rd and 4th PCI express slot and have not seen any jumpers either.
I also flashed the bios to 1.10

The physics setup should work through drivers only. It is intended to plug in a bunch of cards and the drivers do the rest...
However, neither nVidia nor ATI support the AGEIA PhysX engine, so it all doesn't apply to games that use that engine (GRAW I & II, etc.). You will need an AGEIA PPU for those games. Both nVidia and ATI have agreements with Havok to use their Havok FX physics engine in the future, but to this date there are no developments there.
So, your hardware can do it, but the software can't...for the time being.

  • X-Fi Fatal1ty PCI/-Express - All Hardware Acceleration Crashing, Significant R

    Hello,
I've made a few posts on the forums recently about various topics to help me isolate the issue I am having. At this point, using the latest stable drivers for either a PCI or PCI-E X-Fi Fatalty, any hardware acceleration of sounds is causing my system to bluescreen, freeze or crash the application. Some games give me no option of not using hardware acceleration (ie. Rainbow6 Vegas 2), resorting in my having to change my Sound Acceleration down to Emulation Only. This setting greatly eases off on the sound latency buffers, resulting in sounds that are delayed an entire second. The good news is no crashes and sounds actually sound correct.
A few things to note about my setup,
) I am an extreme computer professional, programmer and developer. My Windows XP SP2 installation is incredibly streamlined; I only have 6 services running and all non-essential drivers removed, resulting in only 69MiB commit charge at startup across processes and ~950 threads. Suffice to say, my system is baby-cheek clean, and I aim to keep it that way.
    2) I have been using this setup for many years now. I have been using NVIDIA video cards for the past 5+ years, currently I have a GTX280, and all of them have behaved perfectly with my streamlined setup. I even unregister every single one of NVIDIA's DLLs and stop all of their services, and the 3D Settings Per Application and Color Control Features still all work. Suffice to say, NVIDIA's drivers, although a trite on the large side, are written well enough to keep drivers away from OS services (as it should be).
    3) My other hardware is not at fault. I have tested the X-Fis against multiple PSUs, different video cards, multiple fresh installations of Windows and more. I don't use utilities to clean my drivers; I do it by hand. I know exactly what's on my system and what I want removed. Though it may be egotistical to state, I'm pretty much knowledgable of every component my system has running.
    4) As a result of this knowledge and my desire to keep my system clean, I ONLY HAVE INSTALLED the drivers necessary for my X-Fis to work. I DID install Creative Audio Console, but the application seems to have too many dependencies on OS Services, since it never runs, either reporting that my audio device cannot be found, or the application simply does nothing and a bogus error is written to the event log. I have enabled DCOM to make sure it wasn't dependent on that, and it still does not work. To summarize, yes, I have tried enabling every service I could find that it might depend on, and none worked. Creative Audio Console is, to me, a piece of ill-written software. In comparison to NVIDIA's excellent control panel which works no matter how much stuff I remove, Creative's Audio Console fails.
I do not have the Creative Audio Licensing Engine, I do not have the Creative Audio Control Panel, I do not have the Creative Labs Audio Engine Service, I do not have CMSS or any other OS-level services that normally get installed. Remember people, drivers are NOT TO BE DEPENDENT on OS services; they are protocols defining to the OS how to communicate with the hardware. Any necessity of additional "service" software is way past the acceptable standards of drivers.
    5) That being said, I had no issues with stability using older drivers on my PCI X-Fi Fatalty cards. These drivers were dated early 2007, and did not install all of the X-Fi Effects, Utility Effects, 20x Effects, etc. drivers. Mind you I preferred these drivers since they were much simpler to track, as they only had a few .sys files.
As it stands, I want to use my PCI-Express X-Fi Fatalty, but I want to use it without all of Creative's bloat. I want streamlined, driver-only installation that does not NEED external applications to reinforce its stability. Creative, IS THAT POSSIBLE? Can someone, by definition of the Windows Driver Management signature system, just use your drivers alone for stable gaming? If not, you're violating standards and should never have received WDM cert. on any drivers. I highly recommend you do NOT spit back, saying that for proper functionality, performance, stability, etc. you must install all of Creative's supplemental software. These requires are in violation of the ethics behind software drivers and receiving Digital Signature Certification from Microsoft on your drivers.

    Infinity7,
I do not want to sound arrogant, but the list of options you provided me with is the stereotypical laundry list of system configuration information for any piece of hardware. I'll address everything though.
) No, I'm not using an NVIDIA chipset. I'm using an ASuS Maximus Extreme, just like you said, which uses the X38 chipset.
    2) I'm using Windows XP 32-bit, SP2. I have 2 GiB of memory and do NOT have PAE enabled.
    2) I don't have onboard sound; our motherboard has a PCI-E sound card which I do not have installed.
    3) I don't have any spyware. I don't browse the web on my system. I know every program running and have no rootkits. Nothing is hiding from me.
    4) I don't use antivirus programs. I've been on the internet for 5+ years now and have never needed an antivirus program, since I know when I have a virus and I remove it manually.
    5) I have the latest version of DirectX, June 2008 Redistritutable. Note that most of the post DX 9.0c revisions are meant for D3D, and have nothing to do with DSound.
    6) I've tried every PCI-E slot I have, including both PCI-E x slots and both PCI-E x6 slots. The card is currently in one of my x6 slots.
    7) Any 998+ system is going to have IRQ sharing. Between ACPI BIOSes (more IRQs), Windows XP and drivers, IRQs are rarely in conflict, aside from occasional USB device IRQ sharing. To answer your question, yes, currently both my video card and sound card are sharing IRQ 6. I have done enough work to isolate that IRQ sharing is NOT the issue, though, especially through my testing of the PCI card and the PCI-E card experiencing the same issue.
    8) The output sampling rate of games is not always configurable, and never makes a difference. The X-Fi always upsamples everything it gets as it is, though I guess there is some validity to the sampling rates that are streamed into the buffers.
Now, to address the rest of your suggestions I say read my post. I specify that changing acceleration to emulation results in perfect stability and sounds that sound correct, however the relaxed latency results in sounds? that are easily delayed by second. This is unacceptable for gaming, obviously.
As for your ordering of driver installation, it really is through lack of knowledge that people state what order drivers must be installed in. Even NVIDIA's drivers probe for any change through the interfaces they use when the system starts, so any chipset drivers that drastically change the devices in Windows will be detected as changed by other drivers. Be that as it may, I didn't even have the X-Fi in my computer when I installed this latest version of Windows. Only after I had installed everything did I begin to install the Creative Drivers (whilst avoiding all bloatware).
Most importantly, note that I determined when the crashing started occuring with my original PCI version of the card. After I installed the drivers that started including the additional .sys files (X-Fi Effects, 20X effects, etc.) the crashing occured. As far as I know I cannot use older drivers with the PCI-E model, so rolling back to those previous drivers is out of the question.
    Lastly, for my system specs,
Motherboard : ASuS Maximus Extreme X38 Chipset, BIOS 0907
CPU : Intel QX9650 (OCed from 3.0GHZ to 3.6GHZ, stable through Orthos testing)
Memory : (2) GiB Corsair Dominator Sticks, 4-4-4-2
Video : eVGA GeForce GTX280 FTW Edition (PCI-Express)
PSU : Thermaltake Toughpower 200W (backed by UPS)
Sound : Creative X-Fi Fatalty PCI / PCI-Express (tried both independently)

  • SoundFX suddenly not working with PCI-Express SB Titanium and Windows 7 HP 64

    Hi guys,
I bought myself a PCI-Express Sounblaster Titanium bulk last friday.
I downloaded some drivers (sorry, I have no idea what Version?) and an Update to the latest official Version (2.7.0007). When I first tried tu use VoiceFX it worked and I was astonished. Its seemed a real cool gimmick.
Strangely, when I tried it again the next day the VoiceFX buttons where still there under the Audio Config thingie, but my voice did not change anymore when I chose for ex. Robot or Ork. It did not matter what I chose, my voice always stayed normal.
Since then I've deen doing nothing else than to deinstall, reinstall drivers, deleting driver traces, trying again. My worst case was that the VoiceFX did not show at all anymore, my best case was as described above.
I even treid the new beta Drivers.
    Does anyone have a solution?
If not, can anyone tell me what dependancies VoiceFX has? Is it enough to install only the drivers or does it need something else as well?
With which Driver Version does it definitely work under Win 7 64?
Oh yeah, I have I microphone which I can switch to Mono or Stereo, does it only work with one of the two? Mine was mostly in Stereo mode. (It comes from a company (dunno which one) thats got nothing to do with computers, games or creative, it's one of those Microphones you connect to your tie).
    Thanks@all

Weird... I changed nothing and yeterday it worked...
I just understand this, but what the hell?
