No edit options appearing - help!

Hi - using iMovie 10 for the first time (have used previous versions). I can not get any imported video to show any editing options at all. I have followed online tutorials, so I know what should be happening regarding right clicking a selection to get trim options or double clicking to get the precision editor etc. I've tried a couple of different file types too, .mp4 with the h.264 codec and also a .mov file. I can't get anything to happen. Right click just gives me play, select entire clip and some favouriting options.
Oh - I also saw something regarding a need to convert before some options can be used - but the options needed to do that weren't available either.
Any idea what's going on? Googled & no one else seem to be having this...
UPDATE - just found out I can split a clip by placing the cursor and pressing back space - that's as far as I've got.

Found the embarrassing answer - I was trying to work on a clip in the library without making it into a movie project.

A flashing question mark appears when I re/start my MacBook Air 2013. Then, I pressed POWER & OPTOIN buttons and internet options appeared for internet recovery. After internet recovery, the OS X utilities appears with four options (Restore from Time machine, Reinstall OS X, Get help online and Disk utility). But none of them seemed helpful. On the last option Disk utility, the icon created only with 33KB and other disk 1 Mac Os X Base system. On First Aid, the icon Repair disk is disabled. So I could not click on repair disk. Could you please suggest me how to solve this problem asap? Thank you so much for your help in advance!

You can try the following:
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
      left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
        the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
      the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
            because it is three times faster than wireless.

When downloading Adobe Reader, the Firefox instructions say to look for an "edit option" box. It does not appear and I am stuck.

Edit option does not appear after adding a contact from inbox

i have outlook 2013 32 bit with an exchange account. Normally i can hover over a contact. click on downward arrow at extreme right, this will give me the full details. I will get a add button. on clickin on add button , it shows editable fields
and i can save the contac. after saving instead of add button, i will see the edit button until a move the focuc or contacts get minimized. however for some reason recently the edit option does not appear at all. right after saving opption goes back to add

It may be synchronization issue.
Please first check if this user has been added to contact list. If they have been in contact list then restart outlook to check if this add button still exists.
Sometime we add user to contact lists, even users have added to contacts list, the Add button also appears instead of Edit button.
If this issue persists, please let me know.

In Reminder app, tap the + button (top right next to red Reminders) to add a reminder.

One of my apps disappeared as an icon! When I double tapped my home button it showed up at the bottom of the page. When I held my finger the red edit button appeared on app and I hit it! App is gone. Can't redownload as shows installed. Help!

One of my apps has disappeared from my screen! I tried double tapping home button and the app showed up in the icon bar. I tapped and held the app and the red edit box appeared in left corner of app. I then hit the red button and the app went away. I tried to redownload but the app store shows as a purchased and installed app. Not sure how to recapture the app. Help

You did't delete it. It's still there. You just deleted it from your history (a handy thing, 'cause it drains battery with what you would call RAM-usage). Swipe from screen to screen to find it. The only thing you might have lost, is any unsaved data in it (depending on tha kind of app it was e.g. Pages). It is the equivalent of quitting the application on a computer.

Elements 9 full screen edit option help

I can't open the full screen view/edit option in the organizer. It keeps 'pinging' me...ack.

try the 'F11' key shortcut and check out does it work by the shortcut or not.

Edit option doesn't appear

If I connect with a user that isn't the owner of a table, than I can't see "Edit" option when I right-click on the table, and so I can't see easily the colums associated with constraints (for example)

The edit option doesn't work in other users. (disabled.)
I do the following test :
1. connect with system (Role dba)
2. select table in "other user"
-> edit option is disabled
3. close table tab
4. select table in my owned object
-> edit option is enabled
2. select table in "other user"
-> edit option is enabled (and work)
(I test it with 9i and 10g and i have same problem)
I activate the debugging but i don't see error for that.

IPhoto wont save the "denoise" editing option...

I have already contacted tech support and spent an hour trying to figure this out with no luck.
Problem: I make all the edits to my photo to include "denoise" then hit "done", which SHOULD then save my changes to the photo. I will exit that photo and see all of my thumbnails. If I click back on a photo I have edited it appears I have not "denoised", it is grainy again, I click "edit" and THEN it reapplies "denoise" to my photo. However it is only in iPhoto editing mode that I can see "denoise" applied to my photo.
Anyone have this issue?
Tech Support told me the photo's coming from my Nikon D80 did something to the program. But I just don't understand how that is the only option that is effected and WHY its my favorite feature.

give deleting your iPhoto preference file a try - quit iPhoto and delete the iPhoto preference file - "your username" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist
When you launch iPhoto reset any user preferences you have changed and re-point iPhoto to the iPhoto library if you have moved it from its default location

Restriction of Edit option in InfoView

Hi All,
I have created one universe and based on that created one report using WEBI. Now when user running report from its giving data but user can able to Edit the report in Info View.
How to restrict the Edit option for users and also tell if the user will do some changes whether it will reflect to database too?

Is the edit option is appearing in the InfoView or the user is able to change text values data deletion from the output data.
If Edit button appears means you can restrict it by access rights. that is for that particular user you have to give only View and View on demand rights at the CMC level.
In the second case if the infoview is in the interactive mode the user can delete data, change column and row length etc but one thing you have to notice that he cannot save the file since it is disabled for him if there is any access rights.

1. Go to the "Users and Groups" management area of the CMC.
2. Click Manage > New > New User.
The "New User" dialog box appears.
3. Select Enterprise from the Authentication Type list.
4. Type the account name, full name, email, and description information.
Tip:
Use the description area to include extra information about the user or
account.
5. Specify the password information and settings.
6. Select the connection type.
7. Click Create & Close.
8.Edit the user and define access right

First make backup of the Contacts by going to the File menu, Export, Contacts Archive.
Then, delete this file:
~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/AddressBook-v22.abcddb
That is an index database that gets recreated automatically. It appears to be corrupt.
The ~ means your user home folder. You can get to the user Library by holding down the Option key and selecting Library from the Go menu in Finder.

No edit option in Media Manager for 8100??

I haven't really received any response from the Software thread so I thought I'd try my luck here to see if anybody else has had a similar problem after installing all the software for the 8100.
Ok, so a quick overview of what I have installed:
O/S: Windows Vista Ultimate
BB Desktop Manager v4.5
Be sure to keep in mind that I have tried the Desktop manager v4.2, 4.3, and 4.4 and have the same problem with all versions.
The Issue:
I can't edit any audio files in the Media Manager software. Everything appears to install properly with no issues, especially after I disabled, Windows Defender, and the Firewall. The media manager software is able to find all of my media files on my computer, and is able to play/view them all as well. However, when I try to edit an audio file that I want to make into a ringtone, the "Edit" option is greyed out and I am unable to select it. This is the case with the v4.5. In previous versions where the user is supposed to select "Edit with QuickSound Editor," that option does not even appear in any of the drop down menus.
I have completely uninstalled any previous versions and even selected the install to "Run as admin..." in Vista, but I am still not able to select the "Edit" option to create ringtones.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have been picking at my brain for the last few days.

Its just my opinion, but Roxio Media Manager blows chunks. I use Audacity instead, and it free.
