No effect of {Enter} in lacation bar

Question

I use Firefox 4.0.1 on Windows 7 (64bit).
Entering a website address and hitting {Enter} has no effect. I still have to klick the green arrow on the right to navigate to the entered address.
What is wrong?

Interesting, since I never used the green arrow at right of Location bar and Search bar, I removed them wonder if they would have worked for me.
See [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions Problematic extensions] , the one that messed me up was '''AVG Safe Search''' and the solution involves reinstalling '''AVG Free''' anti-virus software without the '''link scanner component''', the directions linked there are a Grisoft.com, the quick solution is to disable the extension but that is not good enough if you have multiple profiles.
Another one on that list '''McAfee Search Advisor''' which was a great extension and much better than the AVG Safe Search that I didn't want anyway but MSA later interfered with bookmark star, Ctrl+D, and eventually didn't work with Google Search which was its job. MSA may work if it is the only extension In any case always look at '''Problematic Extensions''' when you have major problems, may not have the solution but it is very quick to check through.
Another list of interest is the [https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/blocklist/ Add-ons Blocklist], Mozilla, lists blocklisted add-ons that should no longer be used with Mozilla products. Many extension that have supposedly been updated continue to have major problems.
