No Encore library - Mac version

I see in another thread that a PC user is having difficulties accessing menu templates in Encore. I just downloaded CS 5.5 to my Macbook Pro and am having a similar problem. I can see no menu templates (or any other pre-designed elements) within the program. Indeed, I can see no library within the Encore folder at all. In the Encore preferences, it says the media should be located in applications>Encore>library.... but there is no library in the Encore folder. Help!

Is there a way to just get that library from the DVD?
One of the Encore employees may have given this info a bit back, but I don't recall.
Easiest way is to do a partial install of Encore.
For the repair install, see this - for CS4, but the filenames are more up to date than other links available.

That link is no longer available. Use "Migration Assistant" to copy your Applications from your old mac to the new Mac, then immediately run software update. Aperture Version 3.2 will not run on your new mac with Mavericks, you will have to Upgrade to version 3.4.5 at least - you can download this update from the Support page: Aperture 3.4.5
Then launch Aperture and enter your registration key and try now too update from version 3.4.5 to 3.5 from the AppStore. The AppStore will change your Aperture registration to an AppStore version, so you will able to reinstall by downloading from the AppSTore in future.
If you want transfer only Aperture and no other applications, do it manually: You will have to copy not only the application but folders from the libraries as well:
/Applications/Aperture.app
/Library/Application Support/Aperture/
~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/

Syncing iTunes across Different Platforms (Windws & PC) - Mac Version

I'm not sure where to put this questions so I'm adding it to the iTunes for Windows section as well. I have an iTouch that I have been using on my Windows platform iTunes. In addition to music, I also use iTunes to sync up my contacts and calendar list from Microsoft Office Outlook to my Touch.
Last week I switched to Mac and ported all my music to a new iTunes libary on my Mac. Due to issues with Office I can not use the Mac ver of office for my contacts and calendar.
I loaded VMware Fusion and Windows XP on my Mac and installed iTunes for Windows. I did not move any music, podcasts, etc... over to the Fusion/Windows iTunes - only my contacts and calendar info is on that version.
Now I have two instances of iTunes on my Mac... a Mac version and a Windows version under Fusion.
What I would like to do is:
- Sync my iTouch for Music only using the iTunes running under Mac.
- Sync my iTouch to the Windows version under Fusion for the contact list and calendar updates. This version will not have any music in the library.
Questions:
1) Can I do this without causing a melt down on my touch?
2) What happens when you sync to a library without music? Does it erase the music on the touch?
3) I haven't tried to sync my touch to the Mac yet- what will happen when a windows based touch tries to load a mac based iTunes?
If this doesnt work I guess I could reload all my music to the Fusion(PC) version of iTunes and be done with it but I would really like to use my Mac version.

You have got to be kidding! I have been trying for months to do this between my three machines. What exactly is the point to having an iTunes account for multiple machines if you can not have the same library across them? If this isn't the stupidest thing I've come across in years, honest to Pete...
What if I use a thumb drive to keep the directories manually synced? Or does apple go the extra step to prevent this too? Can you point to a library through the intranet? I could just put up a server and point my machines to it, boy wouldn't that be speedy and elegant.
I just want to scream this is so annoying. I might as well go back to a system that works, a Windows phone... The iPhone isn't that much nicer than my old tilt.

Cannot select iTunes videos for sync with Sony Bridge for Mac version 3.6

I have a Sony xperia T.
I am running Sony Bridge for Mac version 3.6 (the latest I think)
I would like to sync a couple of movies to my phone so I can take them with me when travelling, but the itunes library movies are "greyed out" and I cannot select them to enable them to sync.
I cannot see why.
Also some of my music is the same - some albums are "greyed out" and cannot be selected.
Anyone else seen this and worled out the solution ?
if so - please advise !

Issues with Mac Version of Adobe Captivate 6

I am having issues with Adobe Captivate 6 for Mac. I am missing functionality. Specifically the advanced actions dialog box. I get "null" value in all the fields in the dialog box. Also when I open captivate the welcome screen is blank. I tried uninstalling and re-installing but I am still having the same issues. Am I missing something on the install? Has anyone else experienced these issues?

Also, Try to follow these steps, to verify in case your Preferences have not gone corrupted--
1) Close Captivate
2) Launch Finder
3) Go -- Go to Location
4) ~/Library -- Go to Preference>Adobe> Adobe Captivate 6, Rename the Folder to 'Adobe Captivate 6_Old '
5) Relaunch Captivate and verify if thing improve.

Missing items in Encore Library

I believe I missing a lot add-ons from my Library in Encore. It has been awhile but I upgrade from CS5 to CS6. I was about to do a Tutorial for Encore and notice I had nothing in my Library. I did the Library, title templates, and template projects missing: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Encore download.
I guess I only needed Encore. I did get some items back in the library but I think I am missing some. For example I only have eleven items in the General menu’s in the Library and I only have two items in Sports which is Golf is this correct? I do not want to go through each tab but dose anyone know the told number of items in the Library? This is what I have for menu’s. Corporate: 6 Menu’s Education: 4 Entertainment: 4 , General: 11, Government :2 Sports:2 Technology: 4 Travel: 10 Wedding: 10 items.
In the tutorial for example on Lynda.com the author has a 10 point star in his Library which I do not, also for fonts he 36 pt Aqua and others that I do have. I believe I had these before. It seems that I missing a lot of fonts styles also etc. Need help.

Ann's link is to install the "functional content" for Premiere Pro and Encore. This includes templates and styles in addition to the Encore "library." To get the templates (I think this includes Flash export templates), you must install this. However, this installs only a limited library of full templates - no buttons etc.
I think the OP had already downloaded and installed this.
John's link is the latest version of the full Encore library. An earlier version (but probably identical in content) is at the bottom of the link Ann provided. I think they improved the file size at some point.
Getting the filename the OP downloaded would help.

Mac version of adobe revel deletes all videos

Went trough all my holidays photos on the mac version of Adobe Revel. Deleted many photos as normal part of my workflow. Later using the iOS version of Revel i see that many of my videos are deleted!
After some research it become clear that videos are shown as photos in the mac version, as these "photos" often then are blurred/not good "photos" i deleted them by clicking "delete photo" and confirming "this photo will be deleted from all your devices....". This is very BAD UI. Either dont show videos at all, or show then as proper videos we are able to playback. Not trick me into thinking my videos are photos.
Have to say I'm disappointed - since there is no other cloud syncing photo services I'm stuck with Adobe Revel until Apple launches Their new version of iPhoto next year supporting iCloud Photo Library. Then I'll switch and never come back to Adobe Revel......

Multiple deselect function on mac version of itunes: HOW?

hi - just transferred to a mac. is lovely but getting some issues with itunes functioning a bit differently. i have more than 10,000 songs so have to update and deselect songs to fit new ones on the ipod. was not a problem in windows but is not clear how i can deselect multiple songs (e.g. a whole album) in the mac version. in windows i simply select all then select the deselect option. whilst the equivalent works for multiple amending of album details it does not for deselecting tracks to put up on ipod (i.e. the little tick box thing). can anyone help? it might be i am just not used to the apple keyboard. cheers, Simon

To check or uncheck all the songs in a list, Command-click the checkbox next to a song. Command is the ⌘ (Apple) key: iTunes Keyboard Shortcuts for OSX
An alternative to unchecking songs when your library is larger than the capacity of your iPod you can choose the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists". This means you can continue to use the whole library to listen to while only a selection from it goes on to the iPod. Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -iPod to make it the first playlist in Sources. You can make this a normal playlist and drag whatever you want to it or you can make it a random Smart playlist. If you are making a smart playlist limit it to just less than the size of your iPod. Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting:

Encore CS6 Mac won't start

I'm using Encore CS6 Mac, OS 10.7.3 (Lion). Suddenly, the program wont start, it just hangs up after the splash screen comes on. I can't seem to find any preference files to delete for Encore. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't know the versions by number, but think this page was prior to Lion?

So previously working okay? That often indicates an update (usually non-adobe) has changed a driver or other os file that is necessary for encore.
If you find a solution, I would quickly move to a repair install.

Shocked by lack of features on Mac version compared to Windows. Why?

Just downloaded Premiere elements 11 and shocked to find that the full set of features are not supported on the mac version, most notably the chroma, green and blue keying effects/ filters. Why is this?? I use a mac not as a fashion statement, but because they are the industry standard for creative businesses. ALL photographic, graphic design, editing etc suites use macs, so why give these features to windows and NOT macs? Makes absolutely no sense at all and I am shocked not to mention disappointed!!

There are differences between the Mac and PC platform, and not just with Premiere Elements, but also Premiere Pro. The PC gets more Effects, and Transitions. This was first noted in Premiere Pro CS 3, when it was ported to the Mac. Before, with Premiere Pro 1.0, through CS 2/verson 2.0, the program was PC-only. When PrPro CS 3 was introduced, the Mac-users took note that their PC friends got more than they did.
At that time, there were many posts to the PrPro Forum, regarding the differences. Adobe engineers commented on the differences between how the two platforms handled some aspects of the program - and mainly display functions. This list of Effects & Transitions in CS 3, for Mac and PC, will show what was different between those two platforms: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/460313?tstart=1470 [Note: this was for PrPro, and it has/had many differences, from PrE, so this is not a clear difference chart between PrE for the Mac and the PC, but you can get the idea. Something similar happened, when PrPro went from CS 4 to CS 5, which was a 64-bit program ONLY. A lot of Effects and such were lost in the new version, and some were "old stand-bys" for users of the earlier program. In time, a few DID show up in later versions of PrPro, but not all. Some were 32-bit only, and Adobe deemed it too expensive to port all of them to 64-bit, so they were just dropped, and have never reappeared. The same thing happened with many 3rd party plug-ins. Once, they were all 32-bit, and that worked up until CS 5. Most suppliers then went back to the lab, and recoded their plug-ins for 64-bit, but not all. Some just dropped their support for PrPro.
While this does not help you get your job done (ATR's blog post will, however, and that was also why I suggested other Effects for Keying), it shows that PrE is not alone with the differences between platforms.

le and supposed that it was a bug fix release for his version - because the v17 ov18 number is not often displayed. It is usually just 2014 CC.

Can I access Time Machine within an app like Pages? How do I enter Time Machine within the application? It always takes me to the Finder. I apolgise for the mumbo jumbo. I simply do not know how to use Time Machine. It makes sense when I follow the Tutorial but then I lose it.

OK. You've kind of skipped over the reason why you want to go back five hours, but my assumption would be that you've made changes to a Pages file that you want to revert.
There are two ways to tackle this. From Pages itself, open the current version of your document, and from the File menu, click Revert To, and Browse All Versions. You'll then be in the Time Machine interface for that file, and can browse back to the version you want.
Or, outside of Pages, you can select the file (or the folder it was originally in, if you've since deleted it) and enter Time Machine from the TM menu (it sounds like you've already tried this?)

How do I exchange CS5.5 Windows version for a Mac version?

I bought the downloadable online student version of Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 (windows version) over 2 years ago. I just bought a Mac and would like to re-install CS but according to Adobe website, I need to exchange the windows version for mac version but since I don't have the most current version of CS (CS6?) I actually have to purchase an upgrade to CS6 first in order to exchange the windows version for mac. Does anyone know how to do this and how much it is going to cost? I found instructions online that led me to a form that was a little vague and confusing so if anyone knows another way to go about doing this let me know! Also, I don't think my membership allows me the privilege of actually speaking to someone in customer service.
